    My bad nail job
    Celeste O.

I got my nails done by a nail tech Lina and she didn't do a good job on my nails. My nails starting breaking and messing up the next day. I barely had my nails for a week and the paint is fading off. Needless to say I didn't like the work and it saddened me because as someone that's new to Houston I was really hoping to find a great nail tech to do a good job on my nails.

Violet French tips on my real nails for spring break. Trendy yet simple!

Overall, not happy with experience and would not come back. Was not the worst pedicure I've had,…read morebut definitely not happy. Came in, was greeted... told to check in. Then instead of allowing me to pick my polish, told me would get to pick while sitting at pedicure chair. I just sat down, the nail tech then told me less color options for display so I can walk up to the front and pick my color... like that's what I asked before being seated if I should pick my color and now I'm sent back to go pick my color. Then, the same receptionist, asked me what I would like to drink... did not provide menu or given options. How would I possible know what you guys have to offer to even let you know what I would like? Then she gives me a frustrated look with her hands out when I asked what are the options. "Like we have coffee, tea... I mean do you want alcoholic beverages?" Like no ma'am, I just simply would like to know what do you even have to let you know. Then the nail tech... did the entire pedicure in motion only. As in she "did trim my cuticles, buff my nail, and scrub my heels" but just the motion. I can still see and feel the dead skin/rough heels. Like trimming the cuticles it was like she was playing, 3 pick motions per nail... just to show she "trimmed it" and barely any cuticle on the nipper. She kept buffing the edges of my nail, but not the surface... then the pumice stone... with callous treatment (I paid for deluxe), barely 5 second scrub. The experience felt like she just "washed my feet" and gave me a massage. Not worth the price. Then when I pointed out to her an area with more skin that she could remove for me, she nicks me and I'm bleeding. So she just didn't have the skills to trim the cuticles without butchering, that's why she was only picking at it in motion previously. Paint job... she painted all over the cuticle, and then went back to clean up with a brush and acetone. So looks decent when done, but still not the best. I honestly could do my own pedicure at home and be more thorough. Was trying to find a new spot since I moved to Katy, and this was not it. Questionable tools sterility, staff had metal tools (cuticle nipper) in a container and not in bags, used a reusable nail file (for artificial nails not the disposable one in her single use kit), and used a used, unclean drill bit around my cuticles. The drill bit was covered in red, meaning from previous customer who had red gel polish or red powder. The best part of this experience was the chair was very comfortable, and tech's massage was nice.

I got a pedicure and manicure (requested builder gel on my natural nails). I wanted a natural base with the polish I picked out but I was asked so many questions that felt like they were directing me to choose a white background. Fine. But when she put POLY GEL on my nails instead of builder gel, my mind was blown. These are 2 completely different products. I let it go bc again, I wanted to relax before vacation. My pedicure was okay. Before she even put the top coat on, I could see a missed spot on my toes bc there was no dry time between coats. Fresh "builder gel" set and pedicure with tip came out to ~$130. I only returned a second time out of sheer curiosity bc I wanted to see how they would do a BUILDER GEL refill on a POLY GEL set. But they used poly gel again. I wanted this simple line work design. Idk how much they charged bc I wasn't told and their receipts are not itemized. There is also no pricing list / menu available to customers. A refill with the design and tip came out to $115. I cannot bring myself to come back to this salon. There's no confirmation of pricing, I asked for a specific service and received the wrong product. Everyone I've interacted with there is friendly and it's a pretty salon but there's a lack of transparency that I can't get on board with.

When it comes to nail salons, I'm always looking for something that has everything: convenience,…read morecleanliness, price and duration of polish. I was skeptical when I saw a 20% off coupon on the back of my H-E-B receipt, but decided that since I don't pursue extreme activities like bungee, jumping, hiking, and perilous trails I will, however , try different nail salons. I called Deluxe as soon as they opened, mentioned the coupon and asked if an appointment was necessary. I was told: Appointment not required, but recommended. Upon check-in, I was immediately greeted politely and offered a clipboard walking me through the checkbox list of services. I specified that I wanted today: a glow-in-the-dark nail color and in what service they have that available: dipping powder or acrylic. I was shown to a pedicure spot where two attendants were already waiting since my menu of checkboxes was secret service style called to them already, and their trays were prepared with all of the exfoliants and potions. I put on the back massager, and I was ready for some relaxation. I opted for the basic pedicure and added a 15 minute massage on the legs. I don't know about you but there's nothing like a good leg massage that I always found lacking at other places. I was offered my choice of wine, soda or coffee, and I went with the mimosa and was offered a refill. Everything was complete and clocked in about one hour and my coupon was honored and I am definitely a fan. Five out of five, will return and I will bring my pedicure pal next time!

I have been…read moregetting my manicures and pedicures nails done here consistently for the past 6 months and have had a couple of bad experiences but usually I take it in stride and expect better the next time. This time they ruined my natural nails and it will take a year for my nails to grow back out thick like they were. I asked BELLA ( who raved about how beautiful my nails were when I sat down) not to file my natural nails, she kept insisting my gel polish would not stay on without filing my nails and I told her it has never been a problem before and please don't file my nails. She soaked my polish in acetone and then began filing off what she said was paint and I told her repeatedly to stop filing my nails. The 4th day, my index finger nail broke all the way down past the quick and started bleeding. Over the next 2 weeks 4 more nails did the same thing because she filed them so thin. I went back when the nails had grown out enough that I would be able to put it in acetone, wanting them to soak off this polish and give me a regular polish manicure for free since they don't know how to remove gel polish from natural nails. I spoke to management (TRACY) who had a nasty attitude and I explained to her what happened and that my nails were ruined and she said it looked like regular wear and tear even though I have been coming here consistently to get my nails done and have never even had a chip in my nails, let alone completely broken off . Not to mention, the rest of my nails had no chips in them. I have a crack in my other index finger now and it looks like it's going to break all the way down my nail bed like the other one did. All the manger had to say was I could pay to get them done again. I will NEVER go to this shop again and the customer service is horrible!

The price was changed after we had already agreed on it and I let them know that I don't have a problem paying but it's not fair and doesn't make sense so they decided to escalate the situation and tried to embarrass me loudly while I stayed calm and explained my point (I have videos). On top of that, my nails looked nothing like the inspiration picture I showed. I chose to stay quiet about the design even when I noticed that it was completely different from what I asked for and move forward, but things got worse after I went to wash my hands and the price suddenly increased and they started getting loud and confrontational. I was given a price once and I agreed so we continue but as soon as I came back from washing my hands the worker realized she didn't have the rhinestones to match the picture so she forced a scene. I tried to calmly explain that I had been quoted a different price, but I don't mind paying it since we already started but the workers kept talking and tried to make an issue. The lady doing my nail completely stopped working and kept repeating $80 no $75. then there was another lady who kept saying no $70 we said $75 which became loud and disrespectful. It felt like they were looking for an argument, which I wasn't interested in. I tried sitting calmly hoping we would just finish but instead they kept going back and forth with me so I decided to just pay and leave. I ended up going to another nail salon where I was treated with respect. Definitely not a place I would recommend based on my experience.
