Do not go here. Especially if you have an Apple Product and are expecting quality service while at…read morethe Geek Squad help desk. The staff member "nate" is a piece of work, empathetic to any challenge you might have, and truly has the people skills you could expect any manchild who still lives at home to display you while pretending to "serve" you. I saw the guy before me leave angry with him just shrugging and saying well, I cant help you with that. I figured well maybe that dude had a challenge beyond mine, but when it was my turn I realized that na, this dude Nate is just a pos who hides behind his badge of his self deemed authority to show any compassion, apathy, or even regard for the customer. Probably really good at playing games though, stares you down while verbally attacking you with the "I don't make the policy, not my problem" rhetoric. Wait, I though you were here to try and help me resolve the challenge - but instead - you feel as im an opponent.
Brand new top of the line macbook pro purchased in Jan 2025 for $2800.. Has AppleCare+, well maintained.. I was confused as to why I still had to pay. Bro immediately got defensive and attacked me and told me if I wasnt happy I could just take it to the apple store where they will deal with me. Yeah. Im literally in the store and hes telling me to go to Apple if I have questions, he just works at Best Buy. Maybe Apple can do a better job he says, so you know what Nate, or DNC as your initials on my paperwork say, since this is the "Best Buy Employee" attitude on Apple Product Support, maybe I will just avoid your store for any future purchases of any product as I know if I have issues, you'd the be guy who is there to "not help me".
Asked for a manager.. given the name Matt. When to the front to talk to the manager, Matt isnt one of them, hes a supervisor for multiple locations. Talked to Thomas (manager type) and he eloborated on why I was being charged. Ok, finally an adult interaction instead of just some spoiled little brat who feels entitled to break bad news in the most severe punishing way to someone who just lost their prized computer (A pipeline to my work.. btw). You think he'd care or offer solice or some sort of apathetic response.. but no, its turn to attack mode and then just go after you in your moment of crisis.
I will NOT be returning to Best Buy for any future purchases as I see the face of who supports them when they fail. I will sadly have to return to this location to pick up the repair (in 2-4 weeks I might add!!) - and am in total remorse that I even brought my Apple product in for support there. Figured if they were Apple Certified that maybe a little Apple Attitude would be present.. but no, just some dude whos proud of his day job so he can go home and sit with mommy and play games all night.
Best Buy, you lost a potential customer over this interaction. This guy needs not to be in front of the public as he just cost you future sales. I will also let everyone I know hear about my experience with Nate, your face of the Geek Squad, at this location and warn everyone I know to avoid this service as it is not helpful, reassuring, or in the least bit pleasant. Pure horrible.
I can only wish Karma strikes this dude back in the hardest ways. I cant speak about the guy who left before me, but can tell you I left in the same manner.. and you cant do that to people, no less customers. He literally should be fired or placed behind a wall somewhere as he doesnt deserve that position as all he does is anger every customer he faces.
Good luck Best Buy, and if youre reading this - spend your money somewhere where they are actually nice to you and treat you with respect, instead of attacking you when you have questions to a process Nate didnt create on his own. FTG!
