Made an appointment on a Saturday with vision works at San tan village. They told me all my insurance info and eligibility would be taken care of prior to my visit. I called on my way saying I had to rush back home because I forgot my wallet so I showed up 5 minutes late on the dot. They waited until I showed up to tell me my insurance was not verified. After they told me it'd be done and after I rushed back home and then to the office for my appointment. Very inconvenient and unprofessional how it was handled. I want to give a BIG "THANK YOU" to Courtney at Visionworks. My elderly mom had a fall that really did a number on her old glasses. I stopped by on my way home from the hospital to ask if by some miracle her glasses could be adjusted so my mom could wear them until she could get a new pair. Courtney greeted me at he counter, told not to expect much as the glasses were in terrible shape but she did her best to help me. She sent me out with an adjusted pair of glasses and a case. I returned to the hospital with the glasses and my mom was elated! She could see again while she was recuperating. Courtney is a miracle worker! As soon as my mom is back on her feet, I'll bring her by so she can thank Courtney personally and so she can get a new pair of glasses. Thank you Courtney so very much! read more

This company was previously know as Eyemasters and now is a completely different company that produces a cheap product and shoddy craftsmanship. When I returned to pick up new glasses I didn't inspect them closely and when I arrived home (10 min drive) I took them off and saw they had left a piece of nylon string hanging loose across the lens of my semi rimless frame. So I returned the next day and had them adjust it. At this time the salesperson who adjusted my frame used a tool that scratched it and left a big shiny spot on the metal frame that looked like the noonday sun. The frames were older so I bit my tounge and left because having peace in my life is more important than an unscratched eyeglass frame.Then a few days later the lens fell out on the ground as I walked through my house. I returned again and spoke to the manager who told me that a thicker lens was needed and would take 10 days to get in. She also told me I could pick out a $69.95 frame to replace the one That was scratched, which I declined because mine were $300 Guess frames and I couldn't find anything in their limited collection of frames. In the meantime I was left to drive around with a lens that could pop out easily at any moment and did while I was peering over a sea wall on a trip I took to San Diego. After climbing down on the seawall while my kids cried and wondered if I would get washed away by the high tide rolling in, I retrieved the lens and it was scratched, but since I needed it to drive I popped it back in and made the precarious trip back to my hotel. I called the manager when I returned home and she told me the new lenses were in but no one had bothered to inform me. I went in and was told I needed to come back in an hour and when I returned 5 hours later I was presented with my newly replaced and scratched lenses. After pointing this out I was left to wait for another hour and this time the string was hanging loosely off the side of the frame again. I have now been here 7 times to get replacement lenses and I am tired. Save your time and money by going elsewhere. read more

Probably one of the worst customer service that I have received from an eyeglass company. I have been wearing contacts & glasses for 30 years. I always get a contact and glasses exam each year. When I called back 2 mths later to get my prescription for the contacts they said, "they could see my exam but no prescription written for it" Then the next employee said,"I did not have a contact exam". She said, "I would need to come back in and have another exam and since I already used my insurance this year I would have to pay full price". I told her this was not my mistake. She told me she would see what she could do for me. Came back on the phone and told me they couldn't do anything and it would be the full price $70. At all the other eyeglass companies I have paid a $35 copay for an eye exam for eyeglasses and contacts. The only reason I went here this time is because they were having a sale on frames. Never again!!! I should have read all the Yelp comments before going. read more

Grossly understaffed, always a wait for help. When going to pick out glasses expect an hour or two wait. If you need to reorder contacts expect just as long wait and if you try to call do not expect a call back and do expect to be on hold until you hang up. Horrible wait times! The only reason I give it two stars is that the people are nice if you can get in front of one. read more

My wife purchased her glasses at a different store so I thought I'd go to the one closest to where I live. The optician who helped me was new but thorough and very helpful. When I went to pick up my glasses, there was a man helping someone else and he said please sit down and I'll be with you in a moment. Fifteen minutes later, a lady came out and looked at me, saying nothing and walked to the door to help someone that was just walking in after another 15 minutes, I asked her why she didn't help me. She was very disrespectful! When she finally did ask me what I needed, I told her that I got an email that my glasses were ready to pick up. She got my glasses and I tried them on. The transition was so tiny I could not even read anything. She was very rude and said well, you didn't pay for the higher level transition. I told her that this was all I was offered, and she told me sorry, you can go somewhere else. Needless to say, I left after asking for a refund. Your customer service is horrible! read more

I tried this location for the first time to purchase glasses. I was very pleased with the professional friendly service by Courtney, the manager on duty. Although the store was quite busy I observed that every customer that entered was greeted with a pleasant smile and acknowledgement. The selection of frames was good and the prices were quite reasonable. Courtney was more than happy to recommend a designer frame on sale that was nicer than the frames I had initially chosen. I liked them better and saved money as well. I will definitely use them again and recommend this business to friends. read more

Went in recently to purchase a replacement frame for my existing pair of glasses that I purchased from Visionworks. I have purchased all my frames and lenses from Visionworks for be past 8 years. This time around I just needed a new frame to replace my old frame before I go on vacation. Luckily they still sell my old frames. The sales woman I spoke to on the phone was kind and when I came in to see her she was leaving on break and had the general manager. The GM tried to get me to purchase lenses with my frames but I explained to her that I only needed frames. I have horrible sight and require special thin lenses which they do not have on site therefore it's a special order. At first the GM didn't seem as friendly when she realized I'm only buying a frame. I even asked if they could clean my lenses before they installed them into my new frames but she did not respond which made me wonder. Anyways I decided to continue being nice and eventually the GM offered having my lenses cleaned prior to installation. However, when the glasses were ready I was a little surprised that the GM did not have anyone help make sure the glasses fit properly and make any necessary adjustments. I had to adjust the noise pieces myself. Not full service if you do not purchase there lenses I suppose. Three stars for some of the employees there that was friendly. read more

CHRIS is an absolute rock star. Very long story made long: Insurance check/clearing was extremely difficult and ended up needing to be manually entered. Chris was up to the task (he said it happens 2-3 times per year). The glasses I had seen and written down for purchase from a previous visit were not on the floor anymore. Disappointed, I left as I considered the options that were left. Chris took it upon himself to search through the purchases made since my last visit and found that no glasses of "my brand" were ordered and proceeded to scour the bins in the back room. He found that my pair had been pulled to be reorganized! He called me up and I happily returned to finish my purchase. The most important thing to note is how patient he was through the whole ordeal. I personally would have shown at least SOME frustration waiting on and dealing with myself through that process (it was about five hours after all was said and done). Chris wasn't fazed, or at least didn't show it. He remained calm, patient, and supportive throughout. I shipped my order to an out-of-state location and he personally called over to confirm that the order was on its way. Thanks, Chris. Visionworks, you have an incredible asset that secured business for you that might have otherwise gone elsewhere. Take care of him! read more

I have been here numerous times over the last 12 years and I have to say, their customer service is excellent. Their return policy is excellent. In a recent purchase, I went in with a prescription for progressives. They filled it, but when I went back, I was unemployed. I told them I needed to change the order to bring down my out of pocket. They accommodated me, not extra cost. Then when I received the revised glasses, I took them home and tried them out. They were too strong and made it difficult for me to work on my computer. So I went back to the doctor (different location) and was able to get my prescription changed to a single vision one, closer to my old glasses. I took the new prescription back, and they redid the glasses, free of charge. Numerous visits, several changes in the prescription, but everybody is smiling. Very few places like this out there. I've used their doctor for eye exams in the past and have had no issues. Good selection, great customer service. I will always go back here, time and again.
