Unfortunately, I learned more from other customers in the store, particularly one helpful gentleman, than I did from the staff. The most concerning part of the experience became apparent after I brought my purchase home. Along with the firearm, I bought ammunition recommended by the salesperson. Trusting that recommendation, I loaded the magazine. Although something seemed unusual about the fit, it never occurred to me that I had been sold the wrong ammunition for the handgun I had just purchased. A few days later, while showing the firearm to a friend, he noticed the discrepancy: the ammunition was .380, even though my handgun was a 9mm. I had planned to go shooting the following day and was also arranging professional training. Thankfully, my friend caught the mistake before I attempted to fire it. My concern was that, had I proceeded to fire the weapon with incompatible ammunition, I or someone nearby could have been seriously injured. That possibility made the store's dismissive response especially troubling. I called the store the next day and went in person to speak with the manager. What disappointed me almost as much as the original mistake was how casually my concern was handled. I was offered a $10 gift certificate, and the response left me feeling that the seriousness of selling incompatible ammunition had been dismissed. I emphasized that this was a safety concern, particularly for someone purchasing their first firearm. I expected a meaningful acknowledgment of the mistake and an explanation of how the store would prevent it from happening again. Instead, I left feeling brushed aside. I subsequently emailed the manager more than once and received no response. I understand that employees work hard and mistakes can happen. However, verifying that the ammunition being recommended and sold matches the firearm being purchased is a basic responsibility. Both items were part of the same transaction and appeared on the receipt. Since then, I have visited other firearm retailers and found employees who were more courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive, with comparable products and prices. My one-star rating reflects both the ammunition error and the inadequate response that followed. A $10 gift certificate felt dismissive given the nature of the issue. Based on this experience, I will not purchase another firearm from Sportsman's Warehouse, and I would encourage other buyers, especially first-time buyers, to consider shopping elsewhere.

Cleat Sports has always been our go to place. We always try to support smaller local businesses and this place is exactly that. Excellent customer service every time (there has been many). They also support local sports teams and that is important to us. The prices are always great. The sale racks are always loaded with great deals and often times we've found items that are very comparable if not cheaper then the larger competitors. The atmosphere is very relaxed and I've never been in without a kind greeting and knowledgeable employee helping us. There is even a guy they work with to restring gloves. It does take a little bit of time but it's worth the time at a great price. The new location is great. Much more space. If I had more money I would spend much of it at Cleat Sports. The head guy in there refused to directly comp my card, he was looking at other variations of Wilson rookie cards and determined my card was worth "maybe $10, but I'd give you $25 to get your money back because you graded it." There was a direct comp in June of '25 of $175. Other card shops I had been to had given me an estimated value of $200. This guy flat out tried to rip me off, wasn't nice about it, didn't even care that he wasn't looking at the right comps. He literally said to me, "we only buy off people that need the cash and that's usually between 40-60% of comps, if you don't want to sell that's fine but the next 5 guys will." HORRIBLE experience. The worst place I've ever been and could not express enough how poorly it's ran. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Unfortunately, the hat didn't fit. So we went in and asked if we could do an even exchange for a larger size. The first employee told us it wasn't a problem and helped my son locate the correct size. All good. We took the new hat over to the cashier (a different employee) and we were informed that exchanges were not allowed without an original receipt or the original credit card used. Clearly, I don't know how they paid for the hat. Regardless: Store shopping bag All original Tags Zero help. Lesson here: do NOT buy gifts at this store. Something as simple as even exchange is impossible unless the original purchaser is present with a receipt or credit card used. So now my son has a $41.99 hat (plus tax!) that will sit on his shelf but will never be worn. Pathetic, poor business practices in my opinion.
