Incredible experience! Love the vibe here and was blown away with the service and the food. The Mediterranean salad, spinach carbonara, cheeseburger and filet all exceptional. Also a nod to the bread with maple butter!!! So delish. Can't wait to return and bring friends.
10/10 experience all around. The restaurant is a whole vibe with the vinyl records and dim lighting. You get to pick a record to play for the restaurant which is pretty cool. The service was also excellent! I have nothing but nice things to say thanks to our server Geronimo. Now the food, wow. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The mashed potatoes were nice and creamy. The cheesecake was delicious and not too sweet. Go check this place out if you haven't yet.
Came to Vinyl for a client dinner and had the best time! We were in search of a steakhouse near our office and Vinyl sounded like it had a cool vibe. There was a big group of us so we were sat in the front across from the wall of vinyl options. We started with the shishito peppers, short rib potstickers, and crab cake. The potstickers were SO flavorful. For dinner, I ordered the NY Strip and we ordered a bunch of sides to share amongst the table including the garlic mashed potatoes, truffle Mac & cheese (my fave!!), creamed spinach with an over-easy egg on top. By time dessert came, drinks were flowing and espresso martinis were just what we needed with our cheesecake and creme brûlée. Overall, food and drinks were excellent. Service was fast considering there were almost 10 of us at the table and the vibes were vibin'. We loved that we were able to choose a record to play in the restaurant and since we were one of the later tables, got to choose two!
Vinyl Steakhouse is the kind of place that gets everything right. The vibe is incredible! Nicely dim, stylish, and just the right energy for a night out. We started with the crispy sushi and it was unreal, perfect crunch with fresh, flavorful bites. The porterhouse was cooked exactly how we asked, super tender and packed with that rich, buttery flavor you want from a great steak. The mashed potatoes were smooth and comforting, and the creamed spinach carbonara was easily a standout! It was creamy, savory, and a little indulgent in the best way. Service was excellent all around, attentive without being overbearing, and everything came out at a great pace. Definitely a spot that lives up to the hype.
Vinyl and steak? Yes, please. Vinyl Steakhouse was on my radar screen, and I finally had a chance to try it last week. It's a modern steakhouse with the added feature of a 3,000+ vinyl LP collection (60s and 70s emphasis) to enjoy during your meal. On play that evening were Santana, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles and more. The atmosphere was modern, upbeat and celebratory. Not the typical serious steakhouse environment. The music was present, but not overbearing. We enjoyed a wedge salad, Porterhouse for two, and a Macaroni & Cheese side dish. The food was outstanding, with the steak cooked perfectly. I don't recall having a more delicious rendition of Mac & Cheese..... ever. On the cocktail side, I tried a Pear & Oak. It was tasty, but slightly unbalanced with the pear notes not coming through. I'll have to try some of their other cocktails on a future visit. Service was warm, efficient, and friendly. The owner Danny even stopped by to say hello. A very nice guy. Pricing was fair, considering a New York City steakhouse backdrop, and based on social media posts, Vinyl Steakhouse is making an effort to keep prices under control in this inflationary restaurant environment.
This is a fun little neighborhood steakhouse with a laid back vibe. Popped in early for drinks at the bar and service was wonderful and drinks solid. We moved to our table after a few cocktails Music is fun but not so loud that we couldn't enjoy conversation with our party of four. We ordered the Caesar salad, potstickers and crispy sushi. Each one was very tasty. Shared a couple of steaks, my favorite was the filet that was seared to perfection. Don't skip the trio of dipping sauces for a little extra punch of flavor. Bill was a little pricey but I feel like steak orders in the city tends to run very high these days. I would recommend this fun spot and will put it on my list of do overs.
Went back to Vinyl Steakhouse after about three years and unfortunately, it was a letdown. I ordered the Cajun dryrubbed ribeye medium rare, but it came out fully cooked through and tasted burnt :/ you can literally see it . The sliders were also very dry and cold, which was disappointing. The only things I actually enjoyed were the sides, since those at least came out hot. I'm honestly sad about this experience because this used to be one of my favorite spots. I really hope this was just an off night, but this visit didn't live up to how good it used to be. The waitress was amazing and I was pleased with how attentive she was!
What an awesome spot! We had impromptu plans with a friend visiting NYC for work and our usual spots for steak in the city were fully booked and so I'm really happy they all were! Vinyl has been open for the 2 years now. The atmosphere is chic, trendy with a rustic man cave kind of feel to it yet very welcoming. The steaks were stellar and cooked to the perfect temperature we had requested. The sides were delicious and loved that they had practically ever vinyl record you could think of and make music requests for the night. Definitely a must go! The staff is totally on it and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. I think it also helped that the owners were in the weeds with their staff serving, cleaning tables and greeting guests too. We ordered a Cesar: crisp and fresh dressed with a delicious dressing; a NY Strip, a couple of filets too and they were all mouth wateringly perfect. Seasoned simply with a bit of salt too bring it
Visited Vinyl Steakhouse for an early dinner and tried the wedge salad, crab cake, and the Porterhouse for two. I'll say you should try it -- it wasn't the best steak I've had, nor the worst. The wedge was flavorful, fresh, and crisp. The crab cake was uneventful and a bit soggy at the bottom, though the sauce was delicious. I definitely recommend the chocolate mint cake and the carrot cake. Regarding the theme they highlight, we weren't advised upon arrival that we could select a record to play, and by the time we realized it, our entrées had already arrived. Our song finally played with dessert. Overall, I'd rate it 3.8/5 -- 5/5 for service, 4/5 for ambiance, and 3.5/5 for food.
Fabulous spot! Intimate space with great vibes and records. Every food was spot on from the apps to the mains to the desserts. We got 3 apps: potstickers, crispy tuna, and filet sliders. The star was the potstickers with the yumyum sauce. The sides were exceptional, specially the truffle Mac and creamed spinach with egg - wow!! Lastly was dessert with the mint chocolate chip cake. Be prepared: it's huge and you will likely need to take it home. The sauce was my fav part. Our server, Christian, was very attentive and easy to talk to. The vibes were great for a date night or fun night out -- you get an iPad and can choose a record song to play. Hope to be back!
Awesome steakhouse. First off all the vibe is unbelievable it's dim and the vinyls on the walls is such a cool addition. Our waitress was very sweet and always made sure we were satisfied. I got the ceaser salad, the rib eye with garlic mashed potatoes and everything was perfect.
Ambiance was nice music was ok & food was ok. We were there for a birthday dinner. We thought we would get to pick a song, did not happen. It did take a long time for food to come out. The best part was dessert was complimentary, get the chocolate cake .
Super vibey atmosphere, definitely a bit of a splurge! Had some issues with the cook temperature of our steaks, but the wait staff did their best to correct it quickly which was very appreciated. I've had better steaks, but pretty solid! The sides were A+

Surprisingly really cool place - food: 4/5, good quality, meat was well-cooked, all the appetizers were excellent - ambiance: 5/5, not common to find vintage style decor for steak houses. Very unique and def my style - Service: 4/5 , okay- nothing spectacular. Steakhouses in NYC all look the same, but I found it super interesting that their appetizer sushi wasnt bad and even the vibe was different from other NYC, old school steakhouses. After a long day in NoMad, I came to Vinyl for dinner with my family. The ambiance was amazing--the decor was beautiful, and the dim lighting really set the mood. We ordered the chicken parm, salmon, a salad, and a side of Parmesan green beans. The chicken parm was good but didn't have much of a wow factor. The salmon was solid, but the green beans were extremely salty. Thankfully, the manager came over, and when we expressed our disappointment with the green beans, she went above and beyond to make things right. She brought us a fresh order of plain green beans with onions, and they were absolutely delicious. The restaurant was empty during our visit, and our server checked in on us frequently, which I appreciated. As for the drinks, I had the Crimson & Clover, which left a lot to be desired. However, I followed it with a mezcal espresso martini, and that was amazing--so I'm a bit conflicted about the drinks overall. All in all, there were some definite highs and some misses. I really appreciated the manager taking our feedback seriously and making things right, but I'm not sure this is a place I'll be rushing back to. read more
I was so excited to try this restaurant after reading the reviews about the food and since I'm a music buff to be able to go to a restaurant where you can pick songs to be played while eating was right up my alley. My girlfriends and I arrived at the restaurant before the dinner rush started and it was empty. I loved the decor as you walk in with the vinyl albums everywhere and the art on the walls. Our waiter immediately came and took our appetizer and drink orders. Shout out to the bartender cause my Moscow mule was on point. We ordered the wagyu potstickers and the crab cake, to share - both were good. For my entree I ordered the cajun spice rub ribeye and we ordered sides for the table: fried rice, mashed potatoes and truffle Mac and cheese. The first thing I noticed was how dark my steak was - I thought ok it must be the rub but upon cutting the steak it was well done and not medium as I requested. Also, the steak didn't have any taste - no cajun seasoning, no salt, nothing. The sides didn't have any seasoning either - it was all very bland and the mashed potatoes were extremely thin - like runny thin. We all ordered the creme brûlée and it was ok - I've definitely had better. By the end of our meal we noticed the table next to us was offered the opportunity to select songs from their iPad. When we questioned our waiter why we weren't asked even though we were there when the restaurant was completely empty he gave us an answer that didn't make any sense. He then asked us to leave our table as you only get 90 minutes seating but we were not informed of that as we were seated. Now let me say this restaurant is not cheap and since its a steakhouse one would expect the steaks to be on point, the food was taste good and all customers would be given the opportunity to select music. I was very disappointed on all fronts. read more

Went for a birthday party with a group of four on a Tuesday night reservation. Service was top notch - they went above and beyond to make the birthday special. We split and tried a number of things and everything was great. The stars were probably the steak, the wedge salad, truffle Mac and cheese, and the potstickers* (do not sleep on these). It's a vibe in here and they have a great bar. Would definitely return! read more

What a great experience. From the moment we walked in, we knew we found a gem. We love vinyl records so that was a huge plus. Being that it was my husband's Birthday, he got to pick 1 album side to play. The music is anywhere from hip hop to yacht rock, r&b to classic rock. It's a great vibe. Now about the food - delish! Started with the shishito peppers which should not be missed. Then we shared the ribeye, the truffle mac n cheese, and the corn. All were incredibly flavorful. And my cocktail was super cute with a playing card attached. Isabella was our server and she took great care of us. She was friendly, helpful, and attentive. With all of this being said, just make the reservation. You don't have to get dressed up. It's a fun and casual steakhouse. Can't wait to come back the next time we're in NYC. read more

The place was cute. They had good music playing, the vibes were definitely there. The food I definitely rate a 6.5 outta 10. I had the NY Strip. With a side of bok choy and mash potatoes. With a flavored butter on the side. My drink was good, but my friend asked for a margarita and instead gave him a Mezcal margarita with spicy rim which no one asked for. The box choy was sooo bad lol (-20/10) - i literally had to spit it out. It was just drinking straight soy sauce and oyster sauce. (The waiter recommended it which is crazy) I wanted to get them taken off the bill but our waiter never really checked up on us even though he had tables next to us. Mash potatoes was good nothing crazy definitely need some salt /pepper (7/10) And steaks were steaks. Nothing special. Overall for the price I wasn't satisfied ($300+tip) I don't think I'd be back. read more
Absolutely amazing restaurant! My husband and I come here every year for any celebratory occasion. We look forward to it every time and are sad once it's over! We have to start planning for our next visit. Fantastic steak and even chicken parmesan! Everything we've had here is phenomenal. Great service, great drinks and great food! Great music. music I did not previously know about but thoroughly enjoyed the music choices. Not a bad thing to say about my experience here. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had! The service was outstanding. Geronimo made sure to get our vinyl request playing, and timed it up perfectly to start when our dessert came out. He even brought us a free dessert and glass of wine because it was my birthday. The food was fantastic as well. Perfectly cooked steak and an outstanding Mac and cheese. If you want great food and great hospitality with the twist of selecting your own music to play I would highly recommend. We will be back! read more

Vinyl Steakhouse is truly one of a kind. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted not just with the aroma of perfectly cooked steaks, but with the warm crackle of music history with over 2,000 vintage records lining the space and filling the atmosphere with personality. The food speaks for itself. Rich flavors, tender cuts, and dishes prepared with obvious care. But what really made the evening unforgettable was the service. Maddi went above and beyond, striking the perfect balance of professionalism and genuine warmth. She made us feel like honored guests from start to finish. You MUST get the creamed spinach. SO GOOD. The truffle Mac n cheese was also good but very filling! And an "off the menu" dessert... the carrot cake. Unreal. Ask for it!! Between the incredible menu, the immersive music collection, and the top-notch hospitality, Vinyl Steakhouse is more than just dinner it's an experience. Can't wait to come back! read more
This place has potential but needs a lot of improvement. Very cute concept for a steakhouse but the food is so mediocre, i would never go back here tbh. Food for price 3.5/10 Drinks 3.5/10 Service 4/10 Ambiance 8.5/10 1. The steak is way too small for 3. The steak for 3 is smaller than a porterhouse at wolfgangs for 2 2. The AC is directly pointing down at our face/ food and everything got cold within 8 minutes 3. Crispy sushi is not crispy...don't get this even though the waitress recommended it. It was so soggy and clearly reheated poorly or just microwaved. 4. Caesar is good but you really cannot mess up a classic caesar salad 5. Beef Carpaccios the only decent dish aside from the Creamy spinach carbonara... 3.5/5 6. Spinach carbonara was good but i don't like eating yellow yolk. If you are going to price this at 16-18 dollars, at least provide orange yolk eggs, aka pasture raised 7. Cocktails sounded good but theyre really underwhelming especially for that price 8. We ordered drinks and waitress never came back to get the food order and we sat there trying to flag her down for 20 minutes.. and they have a 2 hour seat limit The owner / manager came by to see if everything was OK and honestly it was a nice gesture but this place is not worth the stars it has currently. I would give this place 4-8 mo before closing unless they focus on making it better for food and service. It is nyc afterall and i can get better food anywhere.. read more

Vinyl Steakhouse has quickly become a staple in our dinner rotation, and for good reason. Hands down, this is the best restaurant we've been to so far. Every visit consistently delivers top-quality food, incredible service, and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. The steaks are always cooked to perfection, and the menu has just the right balance of creativity and classic flavors. The staff is attentive, professional, and genuinely makes you feel like a valued guest every time you walk in. It's rare to find a spot that hits all the marks. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience you'll want to come back to again and again. We met the owner, Kevin, couple of times. It's always a pleasure talking to him. When I heard about this spot that plays exclusively vinyl records and serves generational steak I *immediately* made a reservation. Here's what I found out: Their Vinyl Martini with olive oil is a unique take on a classic cocktail and if I find myself strolling by I will be ordering one at the bar. It is a crisp martini with the rich olive oil flavor on the front end of your sip. Not the type of martini that will cause you to question your like of vodka. This is a well crafted cocktail. The music transitioned from Otis Redding to Nathaniel Rateliff to The Rolling Stones. We began to wonder how they were avoiding stagnancy by playing a full record when the owner Kevin stopped by. In order to maintain the rustic, warm ambiance, they play an A or B side before a record change. Kevin previously worked at a more buttoned-up restaurant and wants Vinyl Steakhouse to emanate the opposite. We ordered the dry age porterhouse for two-- my god people. The bone marrow butter draping the perfectly medium rare slices is making my mouth water. Just feast your lil eyeballs on this image and trust me. Accompanying our steak we ordered a loaded potato pavé with gouda, chives, bacon and jalapeño layered in impressively thin slices. Mmm. The kale blue cheese salad-- my fellow carnivore is not a blue cheese fan and he loved this salad. It was adorned with delicately sliced radish and a harmonious combination of blue cheese and light citrus. If you're in the mood for a dinner with the Beastie Boys and Debbie Harry watching over you -- this is your spot. read more

I've had better steaks, but overall I enjoyed my experience and would recommend checking out, especially since it's so different from other traditional steakhouses (which adds to the charm!) Ambiance / Service: definitely laid back, chill vibes - they play rock music. Definitely not your typical steakhouse, which I enjoyed. However, it's still nice - candles, cloth napkins, etc. You could definitely do a nice date night here. Service was phenomenal. Big shoutout to our male server with glasses! Food: like I said, not the best steak I've had. I thought it was very under seasoned, but I still enjoyed the meal. I ordered: -Vinyl Wedge: this was good. I would order again. They automatically split in 2 which was nice. -Crispy Sushi: comes with 6. I love crispy rice and this hit the spot. -NY Strip 14 oz: good size. Very under seasoned and a little chewy, but it may have been an off night. I got it with the cognac peppercorn sauce and I think I would get a different sauce next time. It was a bit too creamy for me. -Loaded Potato Pave: this was good. I would order again. What a great place!! The vibes were so great with walls covered with shelves upon shelves of records. Vinyls were always playing great music. The food was also very good! We loved everything we got. The crispy sushi and short rib potstickers were great to start! We then got the New York Strip and shared it between the 2 of us. For sides we got the Mac and cheese, green beans, and creamed spinach. Surprisingly, our favorite had to be the green beans which were covered in Parmesan and onions and had a savory sauce on them.
