Heard so much about Hawksmoor from friends that this was the place steakhouse to try...so decided to come here for celebration dinner. Nice decor and must make reservations. Overall friendly service and staff and very attentive. Menu had so many choices to offer... Beverages - cocktails, wine, and more...both had glasses of Collazzi Chianti.. was good. Appetizers to start: bacon and charcoal roasted scallops. Scallops were very good. Bacon was just ok. Scallops come in 3 and extra one was $9.50... yes not cheap. Main: Was originally going to get the bone-in ribeye...Decided to share the porterhouse that comes with a bone marrow, order side of fries and green spinach. Should've stuck with the bone-in ribeye.. Porterhouse lacked a bit of flavor esp for the price we paid. They didn't rush us but it did take time to get our main course.. waited quite a bit esp for a Sunday evening... Dessert: Ordered the strawberry tart and got a complimentary mini sticky toffee pudding. I'm not a toffee pudding fan...so I didn't have it. Strawberry tart was ok. Overall best course was appetizer... for me, the food was too hyped up for the expensive meal that I paid for. Maybe best that I always stick with 1st choice for main course...

What a lovely experience! Went for a large group work dinner so I got to sample lots of items. The restaurant was beautiful and I really enjoyed the entire meal. Lovely staff too! Here are my thoughts: -seafood platter was delicious! -baked scallops were buttery and melt in your mouth! -cocktails were fantastic. Loved the cherry Negroni, and the pisco sour had passion fruit - yum! -steaks were melt in your mouth- in particular the chateabriand. Ribeye was delicious too if you like a fattier cut of meat. -creamed spinach had a nice kick to it! Really enjoyed -mushrooms were buttery and rich -I'm not big on fries or Mac and cheese in general. Both of course were delicious, but didn't blow me away. -chicken was excellent! The most tender and juicy flavorful breast meat. The desserts: -whipped cheesecake with basil and blueberry was so light and delicious!! Loved the buttery chocolate cookie that came with it was a perfect compliment. 10/10 -peanut butter Louis dessert was so addictive! Really enjoyed and could not stop eating it. 10/10 -sticky toffee pudding is normally a fave of mine but it was just ok for me. It was a warm spiced cake with the warm caramel sauce on top. I guess I prefer it a bit richer? I've had it better but it was really enjoyed by others. For me it's an 8/10 Loved my experience here! Recommend highly!

We had the most incredible food and service at Hawksmoor. Went for dinner on a Saturday evening and had an amazing experience. The ambiance was also very nice. To start we had the fried shrimp and it was so flavorful and delicious. Probably some of the best fried shrimp I had ever had. The shrimp was coated with the perfect amount of batter and a nice crunch. So so good. For our main dish we choose the ribeye and lobster. The lobster was my second favorite. So buttery and juicy. My least favorite was the Mac and cheese side dish. I was scrambling to make a last minute reservation, same day, and this restaurant did not disappoint!

If you are looking for a place to throw a surprise steak party for one of your friends, Hawksmoor has it handled. This is an outstanding spot for an upscale gathering, especially if you end up in their private room. Twelve us gathered to celebrate a baby boy on the way, and we chose from one of the set menu options they offer for big groups. We started with martinis, several kinds of old fashioneds, and other various cocktails around the table. Once we'd settled down, they brought out their smoked salmon and herbed cream cheese, the ash-baked beet salad, steak tartare, and the charcoal roasted scallops (the latter being a clear winner amongst the starters). We added on the yorkshire pudding and to be honest with you, it was a little bland and needed a sauce of some kind. For the main meal, we opted for the porterhouse, the chateaubriand, the ribeye, the roasted hake, all accompanied by the mushrooms, the tallow fries, the mac and cheese, the creamed spinach, the boston bibb salad, and a couple of sauces. We ordered a few nice bottles of barolo to wash it down. Now, I want to be clear that this was a STELLAR meal. The fish was quite solid, the sides were rich and well done (as they should be), and the steaks were all delicious, even if the chateaubriand stole the show. It was one of the most tender, flavorful pieces of meat I've ever had, and the peppercorn sauce on top was the coup de grace. However, there were a couple of hiccups in the meal. There was a misunderstanding between our food runner and our server and us, and the four small cast iron pans of steak we received (two porterhouse, one chateaubriand, one ribeye) were to be the extent of the meal. Quite frankly, for the twelve grown men in the room, it was not enough meat. The chateaubriand in particular was cut into 6 or 7 slices, meaning not everyone got to try it (especially after our runner told us another one was coming so we didn't split). This was a little disappointing considering that we were spending quite a bit of money on this meal, and our mac and cheese just...never arrived. And we wanted that mac and cheese (not just because it was part of the set menu). Our elder statesmen voiced our displeasure with our server Malik, (who was unfailingly polite and on top of everything). What happened afterward was a masterclass in how to handle hospitality. The manager immediately came in to chat with us, and after understanding our concerns, he went about making it right. Our mac and cheese arrived quite quickly, and it took some time but an extra chateaubriand was worth the wait. They also sent out a round of sour cherry negronis as an apology. Now, we would certainly have preferred our mac and cheese and the proper amount of steak (we should have more than we can handle with a set menu like this) just arriving with the initial meal. However, I really respect how they handled the issue, and as a result I'll be back. For another dinner like this, for the low corkage fees on Mondays, or for the Sunday roast.

This breaks our hearts to write, because we were so excited, taking the train and subway from Northport, Long Island, after seeing a segment on YouTube. The presentation of the bone marrow appetizer was visually spectacular. We weren't sure what to expect from our first bite, but the accompanying sourdough toast added to both the taste and consistency. We also found the Mac-n-cheese side a delight with its drier texture and stronger cheese bouquet. However, that's where the praises run out. We both ordered the Sunday Roast, and were really excited about the Yorkshire Pudding, unfortunately, ours was incredibly dried out and dark in color. The beef dripping potatoes were tasty, but very tough to cut, as were the slices of roast. Our server was wonderful and enhanced the experience. In hindsight, we should have went with the chateaubriand.

I wished I loved this place more. It was incredibly vibey and the service was impeccable but the food was just ok for the price. For appetizers, I had the scallop and Caesar salad. The scallop was good but wasn't incredible for the price point: you're paying for just two pieces and I was sad by how small it was. I've definitely also had fresher scallops for less. The Caesar salad was fine and I appreciated how it had actual anchovies in there. For the steak, I got their tomahawk and it was decadent. It tasted great but I was disappointed by the bone marrow. It had no flavor and just fell flat. Because the meat doesn't come on a hot plate (which they do warn you about), given the sheer quantity of food, it got cold too quickly. By the time I made it to the little fat chunk and wanted to cut some meat off the bone, it was too cold for me to fully appreciate. Overall definitely a treat. Glad I tried it once but don't think I'd go back. I've had better steakhouses and would rather try somewhere new instead.

Fantastic meal and service. We had the ribeye, fried shrimp, half lobster, and Mac and cheese. The ribeye was a good size (14 oz) and cooked to perfection. It also had the right amount of salt. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The lobster was phenomenal. Hard to say more than that. The shrimp was perfect. Excellent size, light breading, and just a stunning beginning to our meal. The Mac and cheese was bland and not worth it. I'd skip. Can't wait to return!

    Karen Y.

Steak tartare: very bland. Drowning in olive oil, which overtakes the flavor. Needs more salt. Creamed spinach: texture was SO WATERY, like milk mixed with the spinach. Also needed salt, the flavor was incredibly bland. Prime rib: fatty, good flavor. Strip: surprisingly tender considering it's a leaner cut. Fries: the best flavor of all the sides; fattiness is well accented by the crisp of the texture; house made ketchup is sour and interesting.

To preface, I'm not really a steakhouse person, but the meat & scallops we got at spot were SO GOOD. I would skip the bone marrow as it was very onion forward, with no other flavor. The rib eye was cooked so well, it had a great char on the outside and was not too chewy at all. The crust on the scallops was 10/10. We came for our anniversary and they were so kind to give us creamed spinach and blueberry cheesecake on the house. Our original waiter was friendly and attentive, but once he was off of his shift, we were trying to flag someone down the rest of the night. It's a really nice and open spot with large ceilings. Things are definitely pricey, but I would come back for special occasions.

Came here for a friend's graduation dinner and left genuinely disappointed, which stings because I had high expectations going in. The vibe when you first walk in is great, and I grabbed an old fashioned at the bar while waiting for my table, which was pretty good. We started with Vietnamese and classic oysters, both decent and refreshing, then moved into the tartar and pork belly as appetizers. No complaints there. For the main event we went big, a 44 oz porterhouse and a 16 oz Chateaubriand, and this is where things fell flat. The quality of the meat itself was there, you could tell, but it was so bland. Just meat. No depth, no seasoning, nothing that made you feel like it was worth what you paid. I expected to be blown away and instead I was just sitting there underwhelmed. The sides, mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and fries, were fine, but the fries were honestly the best part of the meal. The fries. At a steakhouse. Service was a whole other issue. My waiter switched mid-meal with zero heads up, and during that transition everything slowed to a crawl. The first waiter was actually solid, so that made the drop-off more noticeable. On top of that, the second waiter's hair kept bumping into me and my friend, more than once, which was uncomfortable and just added to the frustration. The biggest miss though was the halibut. One person in our group doesn't eat steak so they ordered the halibut, and it simply never came out. We only realized it after we had already finished our steaks. When we brought it up, it felt like they had forgotten about it entirely and were just throwing it on the grill at that point. When we said we no longer wanted it, the response was "are you sure, we're about to plate it," which felt tone deaf given the situation. For a graduation dinner at this price point, I expected a lot more. It was a special occasion and it missed the mark.

Bone marrow came out cold covered in cold onions.

Maybe the bartenders, servers and support staff pool tips- because none of them care. They are all rude, smug, and bad at their jobs. EVERY ONE of them i have encountered. This is not an over reaction. They have the WORST customer service this side of the Atlantic & west of the Rockies. They pretend to try, but arent good at pretending eihter. I used to love the locations in England. I wanted to love this place. I gave them DOZENS of chances and guests and I spent THOUSANDS & THOUSANDS of dollars at Hawksmoor over the years and this location has ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE how to hire AND TURN OVER front of house staff. Must be intentional at this point. No GM & AGM's in the history of hospitality could unintentionally hire AND KEEP so many people that are ALL horrible at their jobs. Even the back of the house is a shame. This place is dreadful in EVERY way. Except the build out. The restaurant is small, but cool. Thats it. The staff ruins it. Over the years since they've opened numerous business associates and friends etc. have wanted to go here. Of late, against my advice... So we go.... and issues ensue. Mo matter what. ISSUES EVERY TIME!!! Not kidding, seriously, EVERY VISIT- FAILURE EVERY SINGLE TIME- STEAKS: at least one comes out undercooked or overcooked. EVERY SINGLE TIME food comes out timed wrong OR just wrong. EVERY SINGLE TIME: Rude, LAZY, SEEMINGLY clueless, lackadaisical bartenders, servers and ''support staff '' [if you can even call them that]. EVERY SINGLE TIME the service is terrible. EVERY SINGLE TIME: The bartenders are awful. No personality, no hospitality.. They just treat us as if they want to be somewhere else and we're a problem. I HAVE NEVER FELT WELCOME OR LIKE SERVERS OR BARTENDERS ARE HOSPITABLE. AND i have seen the same staff for years there. I have had this conversation with ANYONE I have ever sat next to at the bar. Bartenders: arrogant for no reason. RUDE. SMUG. ALWAYS hanging around and chatting amongst themselves and eventually "they get to you" without a smile, without kindness, without HOSPITALITY! They make drinks that are just ok, nothing special at all... The "coldest" martini in NYC had never gotten to me cold, ever. I stopped ordering it. THE SERVERS HAVE ALL BEEN BAD! Not sorry, its true. I have never gotten to the end of the meal and NOT had the conversation about how bad the server/service was, how lazy and incompetent the server and support staff were, how untalented the kitchen staff are. Under cooked steaks, over cooked steaks, UNDERCOOKED beef fat potatoes!!! You are deep frying them! ON A TIMER! and when you pull them out and they are WHITE not crispy brown- HOW THE HECK DO YOU SEND THEM OUT!?!?!!??!!!?? What's wrong with that kitchen? Ice cold onions on bone marrow- totally ruining the bone marrow. And the server tells us "thats how it comes". i call BS but, OK- then PUT THAT ON THE MENU. ICE cold item plopped on a HOT app is NOT a thing! I could go on and on with about 30 issues from recent memory alone, never mind from when they first opened and the staff was EVEN WORSE. Like when there were 4 of us and we asked to add a 4th scollop to the app, sever told us no, that we had to order 2 orders. She was a rotten server and COMMONLY smelled like she hadn't showered in months... After the meal we asked the manager if we could have gotten 4 scollops- WE WERE TOLD YES, ABSOLUTELY YES!!! myriad issues like this... Eventually this place will fall below 3 stars and ownership may think to clean house from TOP to BOTTOM. Or, if they are making money they will leave it as is, which is how it's been, left as is... Lunatics might be running the asylum. Also, don't fall for the BONE-IN sham here. I have been told several times that they were out of the boneless steaks i ordered, trying to up-sell us to the bone-in or tomahawk steaks- They are 2 or or more times the weight so they are almost 3X the cost and 50% of that weight is bone, fat, and pre-cooked meat weight. I was there recently with friends and 2 of us ordered the largest steak they had a 40+ ounce steak for 2. I know a 20-22 ounce steak when i see one. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME i have been there and ordered a steak and when it arrived it was HALF the size. A 20-22oz boneless steak could come out medium rare and be 18-20oz i suppose, BUT, that steak doesn't come out 10-12 ounces. MORE THAN ONCE i have gotten 10 oz NY Strip steaks and they were supposed to be WELL OVER A POUND. (greater than 16oz). Last straw, this place is bad on so many levels. NEVER GOING BACK FOR REAL The sticky toffee pudding is good, just get it to go.

    Amazing Scallops
    Enrique G.

I really like the place and the friendliness of the staff... They suggested I try the scallops which were amazing and totally worth the trip. My beef with this place is with the cut of meat... I mean, it's OK they're gonna give you a smaller portion, who needs half a cow right? But if they do, they should charge accordingly. So what I can say is their steaks are the Smith or Chili's quality and size at Mastros or Morton's prices...! So either you charge for a huge first quality piece of steak and deliver it or you charge for a smaller lesser quality if you're gonna stay down there. Bottom line a half an inch thick steak should not be 80 bucks

Stoped by for some seafood and cocktails with a friend during one of the 100+ deg days. Beautiful space and temperature was comfortable and cool. We both had the hawksmoor martini which was refreshing. I ended up ordering the seafood tower and a side of grilled asparagus, although the lunch menu looked good. Seafood was fresh, with the oysters dressed up. Price was ok for the quality and the area. Overall friendly service, good food, and beautiful interior.

The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

Courtney & Lee, behind the bar, were so friendly & charming, and we ended up having a very nice conversation with them while enjoying Hugo Spritz cocktails. The colorful tiles added warmth to the space; the marble bar top was beautiful; the chandeliers harken back to the hotel's 1905 beginnings. It's an intimate space with great cocktails and wonderful, welcoming staff.

The well-crafted cocktails present thoughtful riffs on the classics, inventive without being showy. While the dim lighting and intimate atmosphere practically beg for a secret rendezvous (there's an ostrich involved), I met up with a friend for the decidedly unscandalous purpose of doing our intention setting for the year over libations and nibbles. I opted for a pastel sour while my companion asked for a drink called The Last Word - it was no longer on the menu but they obligingly made it for us anyway. The menu consists of mostly small plates and is seafood forward, but we shared a petite dish of steak frites, tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Our server was very sweet but service was slow on the night, and by the time we received our utensils the food was cold. However we were not rushed and were able to linger a bit to finish our conversation. For those who savor finely concocted cocktails paired with fresh raw bar offerings in a salon-like setting, this is the spot for you.
