I first came here several years ago when Peak had just opened and remember the food being good, but not especially memorable. This time, however, I came with a large party and we dined in the private dining room, and I couldn't have been more impressed. I understand they've brought in a new chef, which may explain the difference. We ordered a delicious Blanc de Blancs and an Old World Chablis, both of which paired perfectly with the oysters and seafood towers. The creamy, lemony sauce served with the seafood tower elevated the entire experience. I might come back just for that sauce. The tuna tartare and steak tartare were both excellent, and the steak entrée is another dish I'd happily return for. It's not often that a restaurant with such a spectacular location also delivers equally impressive food and service, but Peak is a rare exception. read more

Zero stars if that were an option. We came here to celebrate a birthday, which was noted in our reservation, after booking three weeks in advance. We were seated at a table with virtually no view while window tables throughout the restaurant sat empty. When we politely asked whether we could be moved, we were met with a smug response and told those tables had been reserved 2 1/2 weeks ago. That's an interesting explanation, considering our reservation was made three weeks ago. The irony peaked when our server asked, "How's the view?" I genuinely couldn't tell if it was a joke. The food did nothing to redeem the experience. For the prices, the menu was forgettable at best and disappointing at worst. Nothing felt worthy of the setting or the reputation. Justin, our server, was kind, and that was the only redeeming quality of the entire evening. As we left, we counted four window tables that had remained empty for the entire duration of our meal. So much for the reservation policy we were so confidently lectured about. The Peak sells itself as a destination restaurant, but it delivers the kind of experience that survives on first-time tourists rather than repeat customers. It has all the trappings of fine dining and very little of the hospitality. Great restaurants understand that memorable service matters as much as memorable food. Here, we got one without the other. If you're looking for an exceptional meal with skyline views in New York, spend your money at Manhatta or Saga instead. Both understand that a restaurant is more than an elevator ride and an observation deck. The Peak is a tourist trap masquerading as fine dining. The view is spectacular--assuming they let you see it. We dined at Peak to gain access to the Edge at Hudson Yards. There's is a dining incentive $100 spent at Peak provides access to Edge. Also make sure you submit your Peak billl on the Tao hospitality app for points. The dining room is very elegant and bright. The hostess brought us to a table with a banquette and partial view. My 8 ounce filet au poivre with mushroom and cognac cream was cooked perfect and seasoned well. I didn't leave anything leftover. The Amish Diane had a creamy sauce and prooerly roasted veg . I stained my top and asked for a splash of side to remove the stain. I wouldnt recommend as you will be given a 10$ full portion of club soda! Had a Mother's Day celebration at Peak. Reservation only. You can also access The Edge afterward. What a wonderful restaurant. Chic and upscale dining area. The view is impeccable. They have a special menu for Mother's Day on top of regular menu. We had lobsters, sea bass, grilled octopus, crab cakes, kids pasta, and desserts. All were flavorful and well executed. If you are looking for a place with both good food and an amazing view, this is the place to go. Food - Great. If you reserve a window seat, there's a prix fixe menu to choose from. The octopus was great, scallops were amazing, and the lobster is very generous with its portion. Food was amazing overall, even the amuse bouches were great. The nest egg dessert was also very cute and innovative. Service - Good. Reservations are absolutely necessary. The reception at the lower (5th) floor will take your bags if you have any that you want to leave. The view is obviously amazing from the top. I made reservation a week ahead for Sunday lunch on Mother's Day. The entrance to the restaurant was thru the elevator next to Cartier heading the Quin Bar on fifth floor where the second elevator takes the guests to 101st floor. The dining hall has stunning view of the whole city thru its floor to ceiling windows. Pretty much you can see the buildings and the rivers from any table. They have huge colorful full service bar as well. The 3-course prefix menu had plenty of good options, including a separate menu for Mother's Day. We started with the grilled octopus and crab cake for appetizers. Crab cake was outstanding. The octopus was extra grilled, would have been nice to have it less hard. For entree we had the Maine Lobster and Atlantic Halibut. Just loved the Halibut, with soft creamy filet on top of the buttery sauce. Lobster was huge mixed in with delicious sauce and veggies. My daughter loved her kid's pasta so much she finished the whole plate in 5 minutes. The complimentary butter and bread were also fantastic. For dessert we got the tropical terrine, vanilla ice cream and Chocolate Liegoise (on the house). Loved the mango coconut flavor of tropical terrine, Chocolate Liegoise had good mix of vanilla chocolate topped with brownie. I didn't like the flavor of vanilla ice cream but my daughter loved it. I also enjoy the lemon minty Garden Path mocktail. Overall service was amazing at the restaurant. Our server was on top thru out the lunch. He cleaned the crumbs from our table before every course. Dishes came out in short intervals. At the end of the lunch, the staff helped with signing up with Tao's reward program that earned me $50 off of $100 for next visit to any Tao restaurant in next 2 weeks. The ginger was a bit strong for my taste but I still liked this cocktail overall. - Fancy Nancy ($24): Código 153o Blanco Tequila, Select Aperitivo, lime, grapefruit, ginger, & orange flower water. My friend got this drink, but I wasn't too big of a fan just because the alcohol is a bit too strong for me. - Milk Bread ($11): I wanted to grab a small snack but nothing really caught my eye so I decided to snack on the milk bread. To my surprise it was really good as it was airy and had the perfect amount of salt to balance it out. It's delicious especially with the light fluffy Acacia honey butter! The Peak is at 30 Hudson Yards. We entered this mall and went to the 5th floor. Then we walked down this semi-dark corridor to the elevator. What an elevator!! As we ascended, we had a 3-sided view of the city BUT the buildings are outlined in black with a white background! Its the actual size that matched the view and they got smaller as we went higher. We entered the restaurant. The view was spectacular! It was my birthday and they gave my friend and I a window seat in the corner! I ordered the Ahi tuna. It did not need any soy sauce or wasabi. It was perfectly spiced and melted in my mouth. The vegetables medley was tasty. My salad had the right amount of dressing and was layered with fresh slices of parmesean cheece! There is an observation deck a couple of floors down. People pay $36 to go there and take pictures. We saw a guy get down on one knee and propose to his girlfriend. So cool! My friend is from Massachusetts and I live in Florida so it was even more exciting for us! This is from my trip there in Augst of 2023! It made such am impact on me! On my 30th birthday trip to New York, my husband decided to start the trip with reservations at Peak with Priceless and I'm so happy he did. The view is to die for!! It overlooks the Hudson River and offers amazing views of the New York skyline overall just an amazing place for a romantic lunch/dinner. The food honestly belongs in a magazine. Everything we ate was outstanding. My favorite dish was probably the oysters and the scallops with grapefruit garnished on top. Manhattan, NY (Hudson Yards) - dining atop a sky high building with floor-to-ceiling open views is a thrilling & indulgent experience, and there's nowhere better to embrace your acrophiliac and epicurean appetites than at Peak, perched upon the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards. Want to wow out-of-town visitors or a date? Bring them here. The menu is pretty typical "contemporary/new American" fine dining fare, but creatively garnished and attractively plated in accordance. Everything we ordered was delicious: I had the beef tartare which is like no other version I've had, and the chicken, which looks very simple, is outstanding. The burger is smoky and juicy (though fries are a bit over-salted on this occasion), and I loved the yellowfin tuna as well. The maiitake mushrooms w/ polenta and steelhead trout were both good, but not especially distinctive, and I found the polenta somewhat bland . Service was courteous and professional, though the food came out very slowly. We ordered appetizers but it took a good awhile for the entrées to arrive. They were very sweet to include a little birthday treat at the end for a birthday boy in our party. You can choose to sit in the dining room or the lounge, and order from a prix fixe or à la carte menu, or simply enjoy a cocktail at the bar or lounge. (Though note the window tables for dinner are prix fixe only.) The views are of course incredible, even if you don't snag a window seat. Hot tip: you receive complimentary access to The Edge observation deck with a $40 per person minimum spend. That's not much more than the cost of tickets, so is a swell bonus! If this were a regular ol' upscale restaurant on the ground I'd probably give it 4 stars, but am upgrading to 5 for the specialness factor: the unbeatable views which enhance the aesthetic experience, and the added perk of accessing The Edge. read more

On the 101st floor this restaurant gives spectacular views. There's an Instagram photo from all areas and with windows galore it makes for a great sunset dinner. The food was delicious. I believe the only issue I had was with the trout as I found that it was not as seasoned as the other offerings I had. But overall the food is priced well and tasty. First off, the view from The Peak is absolutely stunning! My aunt had it right when she said "if you want to impress someone, take them to The Peak". They do a Pre-Fixe lunch menu for $77. I got the tuna Crudo to start and the salmon as my entree. The tuna was fresh and the sauce that they use is the perfect complementary flavor. I usually don't order salmon as my entree because, well, how many ways can you cook salmon? But, the salmon was absolutely perfect - well cooked, well seasoned, with a crisp top - best salmon I've ever had! The service was great at the beginning but it really slowed down towards the end. We went towards the end of their lunch hours so that might have been a part of it but it took entirely too long to get our food and to close out the bill. The view itself speaks for the ambiance at Peak! Easy 5/5 all day! 101 floors up in the air overlooking Manhattan, absolutely breathtaking. Milk bread pastas to die for, perfectly crispy but still fluffy and pro tip, ask for extra butter. Delicious cocktails while you soak in the view is a must. Oh, and did I mention the view! What really makes this experience great is if you spend a certain amount of money at the restaurant, you will get free access to Edge; so it's a no brainer to book here for some bites for close to the same price as a ticket to Edge. The accoutrements were great too- the grapefruit and chips worked well together for taste and texture. Cohesive dish Tuna- another strong dish, the crackers provided the crunchy texture and the miso broth they poured into the plate was really tasty Mains: Filet mignon was perfectly cooked - only negative was the temperature. It was lukewarm Lobster- delicious dish, hearty claws and tail, loved every component. They really think well about how all the flavors marry each other in a dish, and textures come together. However- also served lukewarm! Dessert: The Egg- as delicious as it is beautiful, gold leaf touch on top. Coconut filling, very tropical, light, creative. Cannot beat the ambiance, this is probably the nicest view you can get dining in Manhattan. If the mains came out hot they would have gotten 5 stars. It seems expensive for food but since you get free access to the Edge, it definitely makes it worth it! The interior is beautiful and my mom and I sat on the inside seats so we didn't have to get the prix fixe menu. I ordered the Upper East Sider cocktail and it was light and refreshing! We shared the milk bread (10/10) this was SO good with the whipped maple butter and I wish I could've had 10 more of them. 100% get this Steak tartare (7/10) it was good but the chunks of steak were large and I've had better around. The potato chips on top were really good! She ordered the zitoni pasta (8/10) perfectly cooked but wasn't the best pasta we've tried I got the halibut (9/10) really well cooked and the trout roe was actually so good with the little pops of flavor! This was the worst service I've experienced at a restaurant in the U.S. This was my second visit, my first time (for dinner) was great, which is why I brought my dad back for lunch, hoping to share one of my "favorite" places. Unfortunately, the experience couldn't have been more different. From the start, our server was rude and muttered under their breath when my family asked questions about the menu and drinks, as they are not very comfortable reading English. Racism or microaggression? You tell me. While the manager did come over, the apology felt insincere, more like "I'm sorry you feel that way" than a genuine acknowledgment of the situation. Service throughout the meal was extremely disorganized. Our waiter changed multiple times (at least seven), and our entrée was brought out before the appetizer. When we pointed this out, the dish was taken back and not returned until nearly 30 minutes later. No apology was offered. To make matters worse, we were left with the wrong appetizer, with staff casually saying it was "complimentary," which felt more dismissive than accommodating. Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing experience, especially given how much I enjoyed my first visit. I've dined at a wide range of restaurants, from casual spots to Michelin-starred establishments around the world, and I have never encountered service that felt so close to a microaggression. I will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant. read more

I tried things I wouldn't normally eat and was super surprised to love it all. The staff was so kind and attentive, it never felt overbearing but it also never felt like they forgot about me. I'm pretty sure the friend who showed me this hack to avoid having to get Edge tickets and lines at Hudson Yards by hitting up The Peak restaurant instead wants to keep this on the down low, but I'll share with my Yelp community. The place is pretty fancy but all you have to do is grab a cocktail at the bar and you're getting basically the same amazing views through these sweeping, massive windows. Take your time with your drinks and then head down to the actual Edge observation deck. The staff will even point you to the elevator and you walk right out there. You don't need a ticket, and won't have to wait in line with tourists taking selfies. It does get crazy windy up there. My hair was whooshing around so much I didn't really want to stay, and heights freak me out. For everyone else, enjoy the glass floors that make you feel like you're floating above the city. They're not the cheapest drinks you'll have in the city, but you're saving on Edge tickets and the views really are stunning. If you can time your visit here to sunset after a rainy day ooooo those colors will make living in NY worth every penny. read more

Looking for something special to do for the 4th. Didn't want to do a dinner cruise or be outdoors. I always wanted to go to Hudson Yard for the amazing views. To boot, a dinner and amazing views. The Peak fit the criteria. I had to set my alarm to wake up at 6 am PST (9 am EST) and book a reso when the date dropped (28 days before if I remember correctly). I was able to get a Lounge Window Table which was disappointing at first bc I wanted a regular dining room table near the window. Maybe it was sold out? IDK. Come to find out that normally this price fixe menu is $100ish pp. But for the 4th if went up to $495. The way my eyes bulged bc I wasn't expecting this price point. But we've been to Per Se and loved it. But I guess we are also paying for the 360 views as all, in addition to (I'm hoping) for the best seats for a firework show. It better not disapppint. We arrived at bit early on the day to go across to Hudson Yard and take a few pics of the famous tower. Apparently you have to pay to go up. No time. So we took a few shots outside. We had to go to the 5th floor 1st at the Shops at Hudson Yard to check in with the host before you then take another elevator to thr 101st floor. It was quick. The moment you walk out, you are in awe of views that I had to just stand there and jawk. To think, that was only NJ. We then led to our private half moon booth in the corner right by a floor to ceiling table. Another WOW moment. Seeing both NYC and NJ with views of all the bridges and Hudson River. Wow. Just wow. Just the view was Priceless, just like their name. There was no rush to order. We took our time and our amazing server timed everything so that we have have a 2 course before the 25 minute firework show before the main and dessert. Note, I had high expecting for the food. My 1st course was the tuna sashimi. Fish was fresh. Presentation was spot on. 4/5. Hubs' rigatoni was good but it wasn't Carbone's, which we just had for lunch. 3.5/5. Off to great start. Until it wasn't. It soon went downhill. Our mid course was the asparagus risotto with truffle. Again great presentation. My DD wasn't inhaling it has I expected her to. The moment I had a spoonful, I knew exactly why. Risotto wasn't even cooked thoroughly. She said it tasted like when her Dad unplugged the rice cooker 5 minutes before it was supposed to be done. She was absolutely correct. At first I thought it was just my 1st bite and mixed it a bit. Only to encounter more bits of raw rice stuck in my teeth. I almost never send anything back. But this time I had to. I couldn't eat. When a manager brought it back, thinking it was cooked more. It wasn't. It was worse. Still raw. And now very cold. I needed some alcohol at this point as I didn't want to ruin my own evening over risotto. I did let the server know and the chef told him that it's from the same batch. Moving on... Fireworks show was spectacular. I didn't realize the views we'd get from both sides of the river. Watching the sunset moments before. I forgot about the horrible risotto and just savored my riseling and being present in the moment. When my lobster course arrive after a visit to the ladies room, again I was impressed with the beautiful presentation. The 1st bite was tasty. But again, it was cold when I am pretty sure it was supposed to be a hot dish. It wasn't the best lobster I've had but I enjoyed it. 3.5/5 I was hoping and praying that the dessert would be the saving grace. Wrong. A beautiful smile graced my face upon seeing the decorated plate. That soon turned into a frown the most my mouth took in a spoonful. "No, that can't be right? Why is this flan...savory?" Another taste. "Why does a it taste like....chicken fat?" To me, it seemed like the pan used to make the caramel for the pan wasn't properly washed of it's fatty residue so when it was used to melt down the sugar to make the caramel...well, it turned into a meat flavored caramel. Ngl, it was pretty gross. Chicken breast was just mushy and over brined. Black forest cake was dry. Filet mignon was okay. Nothing to rave about from him. His cheesecake was just blah, preferred Juniors in a heartbeat. Needless to say the food Overall didn't live up to our expecting. The service was amazing. I dined here because people told me that it was a great restaurant and that I would really enjoy the food. However, that wasn't the case. The ambiance and service are what people are paying for. Even though my server did offer me a free non-alcoholic drinks which didn't end up happening. I feel like he was trying to get a larger tip, but since the drink didn't happen he got a normal one. Since there was a Marquee party featuring Diplo as the dj at the edge, we didn't gain access to it. But glad we went before the dinner as we did get to go on the edge for a little bit beforehand. We ordered from the bar/lunch menu and got the milk bread, dozen oysters (west coast), and the Banana After Dark cocktail. The milk bread was insanely soft and fluffy--probably one of the best starters you can get here. The oysters were fresh, clean, and super easy to enjoy with a bit of lemon and mignonette. The Banana After Dark cocktail was unique--definitely not your average drink. It's one of those things that certain people will love for the bold, layered flavor. I'd say it's worth trying at least once if you're into cocktails that stand out. Beautiful facility. Staff are attentive are efficient, but not the friendliest. We were in line before they opened at 11 AM on Sunday, so we were afforded a window seat. It was an amazing view. The menu was focused, but has something to do, yeah please everyone. We all went with the three-course prix fixe meal, wifey, and I opting for the premium wine. We got very very lucky here. Peak is a unique, rooftop bar that is attached to "The Edge" a very popular tourist attraction for the spanning amazing views of NYC skyline. Peak itself has an almost 360 glass window view of the Empire State Building, world trader center, and the Hudson River. We went on a weeknight around sunset (6:15pm) in hopes to walk in. They initially told us there would be a wait, but we got seated at the bar within 20 minutes. We took a private elevator from the mall restaurant entrance up to the bar and were stunned with the views! Drinks all 10/10 -delicious and unique flavors -pricey ~$20+ each -$40 minimum per person gets you entrance into The Edge for free (great deal since an Edge ticket can be $40+ just to get the view) we got to view, drinks and an appetizer!! -this is a great spot to watch the sunset and avoid the crowds at The Edge Food 10/10 - homemade bread -butter was soft and fresh -bread was perfectly flakey on the exterior and soft/warm on the inside read more

I like coming here. I've taken my parents here. I've been here with my husband. I've gone here many times by myself. What keeps me coming here are the lovely cocktails and the amazing service and views of the city. That's it. And I'll continue to be a repeat customer because why not? read more

Call me crazy but I hate when you spend thousands of dollars for a group and a few hundred is added to your bill for an "admin fee" I'm down for mandatory gratuity but don't throw BS charges on the bill. I will not be hosting a group here again. read more

During our visit we were presented with an unforgettable dining experience, combining luxury, flavor, and breathtaking views. When visiting you automatically have free access to The Edge observation deck, where you can see the stunning views of the Manhattan's skyline. I decided to choose the window view reservation which automatically came with a set meal that features a pre-planned selection of high-quality dishes. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The set meal was $130 each. The drinks we ordered were just as equally as impressive. Both were strong, well-crafted and perfectly balanced to enhance the meal. I wasn't able to get our servers name but he was exceptional. He was pleasant to interact with and extremely attentive throughout our whole dinner. Overall, this was a memorable fine dining experience with amazing views of NYC. read more

The view was beautiful, and every table had a spectacular view. The food and drinks were well priced for the portion size. However, the halibut entree was overcooked and dry, and the sauce was a little too sour. The scallops were cooked well, but not everything was a hit. read more

Wow wow WOW! We had the absolute BEST experience at The Peak. At first glance, the menu is very small. I thought I wouldn't really enjoy it because nothing was really calling my name, however, everything was exceptional. I am not typically a fan of chicken entrees but the chicken was phenomenal. The squash puree and candied nuts added a nice touch to each bite. Additionally, the tuna tartare, the faro, brussel sprouts, everything was just SO good. And the milk bread. OMG the milk bread was phenomenal! I definitely recommend their seasonal burrata. It was so summery & fresh! We truly had such an amazing experience. Special shout out to Maryna, Brett, and Paige for their hospitality. We also had a nice ambiance. I was originally bummed because we weren't by a window, but our seat was comfortable and private which made up for it. I will definitely be back! read more

We visited Peak NYC after 11pm, and the place was packed, there were people standing right behind those who were seated at the bar, and others filling every corner of the room. There was a DJ and security, at the door. It was crowded, and a little comfortable standing in heels then having to fight to get a drink at the bar. We decided to inquire about sitting at a table, and were told that we had to meet a $75 minimum per person. Which was interesting for us, because we just came from having dinner at another restaurant. While we were downstairs waiting in the waiting area, the Quinn Bar (on the 5th floor), we had drinks. Unfortunately, I would not go back for the food, after normal dinner hours, because there was only the snack menu to order from. I ordered the boo burger. The burger was bland, and lacked flavor, and the fries tasted like cold McDonald's fries. Given the price, I could've easily gone to McDonald's for better food. The food also took over an hour to leave the kitchen, which was possibly why the fries were cold. We only ordered food to meet the $75 minimum per person, since we had already eaten at another restaurant uptown and didn't want to order more drinks (we had to drive back to New Jersey) and I already drank a drink while waiting down at the Quinn Bar. As for drinks, I tried the Bees Knees and Bananarama cocktails, both of which were decent. I'd visit again, but during the normal dinner hours. read more
