The View is definitely a unique NYC experience. The restaurant slowly rotates 360° while you eat, which is a really cool concept but can be a little disorienting at first Lol. Service was on point and the prime rib was easily the star of the show highly recommend it. Right on broadway in Midtown great place to check out if your visiting and need a post/pre show meal

Great revival of a storied spot! Views are still great but no longer the only reason to visit. One of their well executed cocktails is a good start, oyster selection is satisfying and the 18oz dry aged bone in rib-eye is done right.

Not a bad place to eat in New York. The view wasn't the best but the sunset made it nice. My husband ordered the ribeye medium and it came to us well done. They cooked a new one and it came back about the same which was annoying. My prime rib had an absurd amount of fat on it but flavor was good. We also ordered the broccoli (not pictured) and it wasn't great at all. Customer service was really good though.

My sweet hubby took me out on the town in my favorite city in the US, to celebrate my 70th birthday - and our 14th anniversary in March! He's a native New Yorker from Brooklyn, so it's always an adventure when we visit. We experienced a magnificent meal atop the Marriott Marquis Times Square Hotel - in the revolving restaurant, The View! From start to finish, the ambiance, the live piano music, the wait staff - the food - created a memorable night I shall cherish always! There were so many delectable items on the menu, it was hard to decide. We both chose the double-cut American Lamb Chops, flavorful and tender. We paired it with the smooth, elegant and red fruity flavors of the Pinot Noir. The hubby also had the Caesar salad, grilled broccoli and pomme puree. I ordered the creamed spinach and button mushrooms. DELICIOUS!!! The 360-degree view of the New York skyline at night is indescribable! A complete revolution takes about an hour. It was so breathtaking and serene, with the sounds of soft piano playing, muffled conversations, tinkling glasses and ebb and flow of laughter - we were there for two and half revolutions! It was easy to lose track of time - and we never felt rushed! We shall return! I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Because the 'vibe' as the young people say, is right - and will promote only the most positive outcomes for whatever you have planned! *Special thanks to the wait staff for attending to us with such kindness and generousity. I regret that I have forgotten the names ( should have written them down) - a young man and a young lady - the night of March 21. They were top tier!

Never went to the previous iteration so I can't comment on how it's changed, but Danny Meyer's USH has taken it over, and I had a great meal here. Called on a Saturday and got a reservation for the same evening. I tried: + Gin martini - excellent + Caesar salad - perfect + Prime rib - excellent + Mashed potatoes - perfect + The view chocolate cake - great + Vanilla ice cream - def recommend with the cake I loved the food, though I could take or leave the rotating restaurant concept (I realize that's the point but lol). Would try the date cake next time.

48 floors up to the Lounge at The View NY and we had an incredible time. Early for our reservation, we asked to sit at the bar for a drink before dinner. The Lounge has its own menu which includes their signature Katz's Martini and small plates. This was the perfect prelude to dinner which we had in the restaurant just one floor below. Located in the Theater district, the View is known for their rotating views of the NY skyline as they are NYC's only revolving restaurant. That's right -- the floor on the outer circle of the restaurant and the inner part of the building are slowly moving. It was pretty cool to see! Katz's Martini was a nod to Katz's Deli -- Brisket-washed gin with vermouth and pastrami spices, and a pickle. Camila, our server, gave us recommendations as we wanted to try basically everything on the menu. We started with the East Coast Oysters and the Jumbo Lump Blue Crab Cake. For dinner, I had the American Wagyu Picanha and my girlfriend had the Halibut. We split a side of mashed potatoes which were so good that I could've licked the plate. For dessert we went with the Coffee Toffee Date Cake along with an espresso martini and the Whipped and Swirled. Whipped and Swirled was a yummy dessert cocktail with Macallan Scotch, Rum, whipped cream and banana condensed milk. It was dessert in a glass!

Score would have been higher but the server was not the brightest even after instructing her what we needed. Other than that the place was beautiful and I would love to come back here again. Gorgeous atmosphere that should be experienced at least once. Prost!

TROFIE PASTA

What can I say? The View -- spectacular! The food flavorful; but premade! I ordered the TROFIE PASTA - order came out in less than 5 mins -- what does that tell you? There are NO variations or substitutions. The drinks are NOT made to order. Made in batches/WTH? Such a disappointment not the experience I expected -- crab cakes are "fried". You do not have an option for broiled . . . I expected so much more

Since the View re-opened I have wanted to give it a shot and with my husband's birthday coming up, I figured it was the perfect spot for a special dinner and it was even better than expected. You're greeted warmly at the host stand on the 3rd floor and escorted to the elevator where you're whisked to the 48th floor. We were greeted by the hosts in the restaurant and quickly escorted to our table which had a cool view of the W Hotel to start. Service was great across the board. Our server was professional, courteous and did a great job recognizing the birthday celebration. We started with a cocktail for me (Marquee Old Fashioned- outstanding) and a mocktail for Alp. We were served some delicious focaccia and then we received our appetizers of crispy fried artichokes and shrimp cocktail. The artichokes were a tad overdone but they were still light, crispy and delicious. We loved the shrimp. I had the ribeye with a side of fries and Alp had filet with mashed potatoes. My steak was delicious....tender and flavorful and the fries were great. Alp loved the filet and the potatoes. We did our best not to eat all of our steaks because we wanted to save room for the decadent chocolate cake we'd seen. That cake was outstanding and came with a caramel sauce that was good but it would have been just as delicious without it. We also ordered a Whipped And Swirled, which was like a boozy Magnolia Bakery banana pudding. That could have been its own dessert! Oh, and I haven't mentioned the namesake view! I absolutely loved the 360 degree view as we eat. It was really neat to view the skyline from so many perspectives (although when you're facing the New Jersey side, there's not much to see because there's a big piece of the building blocking the view for about 10 minutes, but honestly, are you going to miss seeing Weehawken???) We were there for about an hour and 45 minutes and almost made it back to where we started. I really enjoyed this and thought it was a perfect spot for a special dinner. It ain't cheap (with tip, our dinner was over $400) but if you deserve a special treat, this is a great place.

This is what you come for

It was amazing!! The views from sunset into evening were beautifully New York. There are 2 areas... one for drinks and light appetizers or tapas and one for a full dinner. Make sure you are making reservations for the experience you desire because they are different bookings. We did drinks then went to dinner and it was seemless. My only complaint is that the drink menu is not consistent between the bars. The drink I fell in love with at the upper View area was not on the menu for dinner... our server understood and made it happen for us which made the experience even better! Definitely a must do if you are at the Marriott

What a lovely spot to enjoy a cocktail before a show while waiting in the theatre district. The views are incredible and the ambiance is one that reminds you of the 60s and 70s but in the best way. The revolving restaurant and bar is one of a kind and made for a very special start to an evening out on the town. Service was friendly and attentive and we didn't feel rushed at all. Highly recommend!

When I came last month I knew I wanted to return for my 50th birthday. I had the Trofie pasta again which was still amazing. My husband ordered the swordfish, and we started with the Jumbo Lump Blue Crab Cake. Crab cake and trofie were consistent and as delicious as they were previously. He loved the swordfish. I kept 1 star this time for a side we'd ordered never arrived. Server didn't notice until we said it, and a song requested by the pianist was never played, before he left and presumably went home. Another player then appeared. Overall I had a great 50th birthday, received well wishes from everyone, can't wait to come back!!!

Lamb Chops
Andrew L.

First time at The View and had a great experience. We had the Prime Rib, Lamb Chops and Picanha (yes, a lot of meat!) for our entrees and not a miss - they were all excellent. The Brussels Sprouts and Fries for sides were also very good. The Chocolate Cake and Panna Cotta provided a nice finish to the meal. The revolving restaurant and festive decor added to the experience as did our server Lea who was very helpful and friendly.

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. I had never been to…read moreEleven Madison Park before and wanted to check it out, not realizing at first that Clemente Bar is a separate concept from the restaurant. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
