While the service is a bit slow (or, more accurately - understaffed), you can't beat Vino Volo for being the best place in the entire terminal for a pre-flight meal, glass of wine, or (and this is huge) you can get a meal-on-the-fly to take with you and eat on the plane.... It is the most expensive restaurant in Vancouver Airport . 5.5 ounce of white wine $17 CND , It is abusive and government should regulate those prices . What a big difference with STANLEY PARK DRAFT meters apart where a 6 ounce of white wine is only $9.50 CND and also delicious culinary and professional service . Arrived here to break for some breakfast between flights. The waitress took my order which was 'the same as the lady next to me'. She messed up the order and just brought me coffee. She served guests arriving after me. Their food came. I asked where my breakfast was and gestured to the lady beside me. She said 'oh, I thought you just wanted coffee?. Huh? Weird. Went in here to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine and a cheese plate before boarding my plane. A family of 7 with kids came sat beside me - with another family of 3 kids sat behind me. I thought this was a wine bar? Why are there small children yelling around me? When I asked to move the girl rolled her eyes at me. When I did move I asked her why children were allowed in a wine bar. She said it's not a wine bar - so why the name and wine served? Brutal. Won't be going back. I came across this spot before leaving on a flight from Vancouver Aiport. For convenience and price point it was between I this and Carl's Jr, because of how bad the ratings for Carl's Jr were, I chose this place. The staff were very nice and attentive here, I had my water refilled without asking a few times, and my food came exactly as ordered in a minimal amount of time. Unfortunately the pizza wasn't as tasty as it looked, there was too much cheese that slid right off. The pizza also definitely could've used some more time in the oven as it was far too doughy. My recommendation for anyone looking for decent food, a glass of wine, and a reasonably coated meal: come here, but just request that your pizza be well done and I'm sure you'll leave satisfied. read more

I've never been to a restaurant where all the music was super mellow. The music choices exudes an atmosphere of nostalgic longing for a time where things were better. I was the only guest there for the entirety of my stay and I have to say that service sucked. You'd expect that they would be on top of things if there's only one customer but they weren't. Just wanted to pop in and say what an excellent little spot in the airport. I have to send a quick review about this astounding place. Boy oh boy was the food ever good. My husband and I just adored this place. I was recommended a flight by two lovely young girls today, but sadly Idid not have enough time to try it so I just went with a glass. The wine went extraordinarily well with my chicken breast salad, as recommended. If you plan to go anywhere in the airport go to Vino Volo. The worst airport food I have ever had really. $15 for a margarita pizza that is dry dough and canned tomato sauce. Didn't even eat it.

This is for the Vino Volo outside of the secure area of the airport at US Arrivals. I have long been a fan of the location in Seattle and recently had the opportunity to try this one a couple of times recently. I didn't eat per se (though the assorted olives were delicious), but we did enjoy a bottle of sparkling on one occasion and also a couple of different flights. The wine list is very well thought out, somewhat pricey, but completely reasonable, especially for an airport. Service is excellent, and the staff has great wine knowledge. If you are waiting for someone at arrivals, need a glass of wine after meeting someone, or staying at the airport Fairmont, I highly recommend a stop here! The wine and food list is not as extensive as the SeaTac location, although I understand the location inside the secure area has a greater selection. On our way back through YVR airport, we decided to visit this place for a quick lunch. - arugula salad -- small plate but tasty, $9 - brie, apple, walnut sandwich on Chiabatta bread -- $17 bread is not crunchy, very small filling on this sandwich - salmon on crosstini -- $9 (small: 3 pieces), $16 (large: 5 pieces) -- tasty, very expensive all in all, a very expensive lunch, but the environment is nice, very polite waiting staff, and a nice world apart from the usual frustration of an airport dining restaurant. read more

Very rude service. I didn't realize the bartender was speaking to another customer and just asked for a glass of wine because he was staring at me when I walked up to the bar. Then they poured the glass of wine and instead of handing it to me they walked behind me and put it on my table without saying a word to me. The overall sensation was that the food was prepared few hours before. Quality/cost ratio extremely low.
