Decided to try this new restaurant that friends recommended to meet at since it was new in the area and we both love Mediterranean cuisine. We sat outside which had a nice patio and the hookah is outside (for my friends). We started with the dip trio which turned out to be my favorite. The dip trio came with hummus, baba ganouch (eggplant dip), and a cucumber dip. I decided to do appetizers for my order and my friends ordered the hamburger which is a must order, Mediterranean chicken and salmon. The server took our orders and served us quickly. The hamburger was flavorful, juicy and had an egg on top not to mention large portion. The salmon was cooked perfectly and spiced to my friend's liking. This place usually appears to be empty when I drive by it on my way to one of the many gems in Tustin. Against my better judgment, I stopped in for lunch today. I regret my decision. The place is roomy, but it was virtually empty when I walked in at lunch time. I think there were about four people in the place plus me. I should have bounced, but I didn't. I ordered the tri-tip soft tacos the menu describes as follows: "artisan tortillas, avocado, marinated red onions, cotija cheese, cilantro, salsa, black beans & lime." They were not good. The meat seemed to me to be overdone and tough with a weird color to it. Let's put it this way: the highlight of the plate was the black beans. When my server asked how is every thing, I explained the meat seemed overdone. She gamely offered to bring me another plate, but I declined. I just wanted to finish up and leave. I suspect Villa Haven is not long for this world. There are no office buildings nearby to drive a good lunch business. For the same reason, I suspect Villa Haven will meet the same fate as its predecessors - Lone Star Steakhouse and Rock and Brews. Needless to say, I won't be back. p.s. 1 Star BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE of undisclosed minimum charges and very poor management. It's a common theme with the yelp reviews about this establishment. We had a gathering at Villa Haven, with roughly 15-25 people. Unfortunately, what should have been a nice celebration turned into a very frustrating experience. When we arrived, we were given a QR menu. There was nothing on the menu stating that there was a $40-per-person minimum, nor was there any disclosure that certain purchases, including alcohol or hookah, would not count toward the minimum. The waiter also never explained these terms when taking our orders. At the end of the night, as people were getting ready to leave, staff suddenly started telling individual guests that they had not met the minimum spend. Some people were scrambling to order food at the last minute just to meet the minimum. In my case, the kitchen had already closed, so I couldn't even order additional food. My fiancée and I had ordered about $60 worth of items then we were told we had to meet an $80 minimum for the two of us. An additional $20 was not going to break the bank but that left a sour taste in my mouth. When I questioned the charge, the manager, Sam, told me that the person who made the reservation had supposedly been informed and that it was their responsibility to tell everyone else. That is not an acceptable way to handle a mandatory charge. If there is a $40-per-person minimum, it should be clearly disclosed to the people who are actually ordering, on the menu or before they place their orders, along with exactly what does and does not count. There were other problems as well. We discovered that we had been charged twice for one drink. I also ordered a non-alcoholic bottled ginger beer. Instead of receiving the bottle, I was given a cup with much of the cup filled with ice. The waiter told me they had stopped serving it in bottles. When I asked Sam about it, he gave me a different explanation, that they had run out of bottles. When I pointed out that the drink had to have come from a bottle, he said he would check on it and never came back. We were also charged an 18% gratuity, and I never received an itemized receipt. I only saw the total on the payment device after waiting late into the evening. What bothered me most was the way management initially handled the situation. When I disputed the minimum charge, I also told Sam that I would be leaving a review about my experience. His response was that he didn't care about reviews and that he had a lot of good reviews. That attitude says a lot about the way management responds to legitimate customer concerns.i saw that some guy called Maykoul is responding to some of the reviews with little change to their operational policies. I'm not criticizing Villa Haven because I disagreed with a restaurant having a minimum for a large party. Restaurants can establish their policies. My issue is the lack of clear disclosure, the surprise charge at the end of the evening, inconsistent explanations, billing error, poor follow-through from management, and the way the dispute was handled. My advice to anyone considering a large-party reservation here is to look elsewhere. There are plenty of good restaurants with much nicer service. Our get together should have been about enjoying the evening. Instead, I spent the end of the night arguing over charges that were never clearly disclosed. So as the saying goes Caveat Emptor / BUYER BEWARE these guys don't really care about satisfied customers but more about making a quick buck. read more

Soooo came here around 4pm to enjoy hookah mind you this is my first time for hookah. So a couple of me and my girls picked this place. Now hookah doesn't start until 5:30 ok fine, so we ordered drinks we place a food order. So as time is going by our drinks are empty and no food has come out. Mind you we are the ONLY 3 people here. I go in and say hey dont forget about us outside. Where is our food and can we place another drink order? Bartender JOHN steps in and says I got you. Another waitress brings us drinks and let's us know the original waitress never submitted our order frustration starts to build ok fine. Get our 2nd round of drinks and they are not like the first JOHN comes out extremely apologetic of the mess and says he'll take care of us. So by this time its 5:30 where's our hookah. We let John know our flavor he puts it in tells the hookah guy to set up another 15mins goes by and others have arrived and are getting their hookah before us NOW we're pissed. So Matthew was walking around not doing anything we ask him can you go ask the hookah guy to bring our hookah hes kinda hesitate and useless becuz we literally saw him do nothing. Who comes to our rescue JOHN our hero mind you this man is the bartender and coming out of his way to come help us outside becuz mind you NO ONE ELSE came to check on us. We didn't get our hookah until about 6pm which was unacceptable. The supervisor Nina came to talk to us we gave JOHN the praise he deserved he ran the front of the house and back of house. Crazy becuz we wanted to love this place, beautiful setting outside even though we had to ask Matthew to put lights on our table smh. Waitress walked passed us with no assistance if it weren't for John we wouldn't have got anything. Food is not bad, hookah was nice but the SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE the worst I've ever experienced. But our hero John made it better and he is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. They need some serious training when it comes to their waiters and waitresses. Checked out Villa Haven in Tustin while visiting friends, and I'm glad we chose this spot. The big draw for us was that it's not just a restaurant, they also have hookah in the patio. That's a rare combo since most hookah lounges don't focus on good food, and most restaurants don't offer hookah. Villa Haven gave us the best of both worlds! The menu is massive, with everything from mediterranean dishes to Mexican food, burgers, and bar favorites. I went with the lamb chops, and they were excellent. Juicy, flavorful, well-seasoned, and served with a side of tzatziki sauce. We ordered knafeh, which is a warm middle eastern dessert. It came with a side of chocolate sauce. It was rich, sweet, and perfect to share. The hookah was good and well-priced, and our waitress (I wish I remembered her name) was friendly and attentive. Service overall was great. This place just opened but it already feels like somewhere Gordon Ramsay would visit on a kitchen nightmares type show. The menu seems to have the stuff from Rock n Brews while also transitioning to a Mediterranean style restaurant but is confused by itself. Our steak tacos had meat that couldn't be chewed. The rice was mushy and wet and flavorless. The kebabs were good but expensive and not as good as the ones at Off the Boat that are $10 less. Our server was inattentive and didn't understand how to take an order, didn't know items on their own menu, and didn't check in on us at all. I had to find her to pay my bill. They didn't have the ingredients for the drink my wife ordered. Employees were hitting the hookah. Chairs were strewn about the patio and junk was stacked everywhere. It made me nervous about whether or not the kitchen was clean. I love a great middle eastern or Mediterranean restaurant. I've spent time in Turkey, Greece, Jordan, Israel, and Palestine. The food is amazing there. This wasn't it. And I'm bummed because it's probably the closest restaurant to my house. read more

We visited on Mother's Day, and unfortunately there were a few disappointing things about our experience. First, it was never mentioned before booking that there would be a mandatory $50 charge per person. Customers should be informed about this ahead of time. If the restaurant wants to ensure a minimum spend, it would be better to set a dine-in minimum order requirement and allow guests to choose what they want to order. No soft drinks or dessert included which other places do offer. The food quality also needs improvement. The tabbouleh was too salty and lacked flavor, and the fattoush had the same issue. The portion sizes should also better match the pricing, especially with the required $50 per person charge. Another thing to be aware of is that the restaurant automatically adds an 18% gratuity. In my opinion, customers should be able to decide the amount they would like to tip based on their experience. read more

His behavior was unprofessional and rude, as he abruptly told us not to move. They offer a little bit of everything from sandwiches to pizza to tacos to hamburger to bowls and salad and Mediterranean food! We got a few items and I liked their tacos! I am not usually one to complain, and I understand that service can be slow sometimes, but this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. My parents and I all ordered at the same time, yet after waiting about an hour, my dad was the only one who was ever served. My mom and I sat there the entire time with no food, despite being checked on twice and told both times that our orders would be "right out." The worst part was that we were the only people in the restaurant eating, so there was really no excuse for such a long wait. After nearly an hour, I finally told them I did not want my food or my mom's food anymore. Instead of apologizing, they tried to convince me to still take it because "it's on the grill." When I said no, I was made to feel like I was somehow in the wrong. I spoke with the manager, who apologized, and I still paid for what I did eat. On the way out, the GM asked if everything was okay and clearly had no idea what was going on in his own restaurant. I explained everything and let him know how bad the service was. Zero out of ten. As bad as it gets. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, and I will never be coming back. read more

So far, I've tried the Asian wings, buffalo wings, calamari, hawawshi, pretzel with cheese, beef shawarma loaded fries, beef and chicken shawarma sandwiches, kofta plate, lamb chops, kunafa with Nutella, om ali, brownie sundae--the list goes on--and every single dish has hit the mark. I came on a Friday or Saturday can't remember but there was a DJ. It was loud I couldn't hear the party I was with when we were chatting. outside service wasn't the best, part of our order got forgotten and delayed; waited for the salad and mixed grill for maybe an hour and it didn't come out till we were already full. The tall server wasn't able to hear us well due to how loud it is outside when we told him our order. Hookah is really good but coals don't get changed for long. It needs improvement- the decor and outside ambiance is really nice. While it was fun to come during the weekend yet it was a disappointment with how service was like for us. read more

I drove almost 50 minutes from Brea area to try heaven Villa restaurant I made a reservation at 7:15 PM. We arrive and I got greeted by a very nice friendly host at the front. I was very impressed with the owner and his wife greeting and welcoming us with warm smile They made me feel welcome when I walked in to the entrance. I saw a beautiful full bar with a lot of TV around the decor inside is really beautiful and whatever it took time to create A+ when we seat down a nice attentive service greeting and welcoming us and she gave us a very good suggestion about food and appetizers. We order our appetizers which is Fries loaded with Shawarma and she gave us some plates to share. That portion was good for appetizer we all share and enjoy. We order our dinner barbecue chicken salad, shrimp sandwich, Shawarma plate and some sides plates salad and french fries and kebab. It was so delicious and the portion like I mentioned before it was big and we couldn't finish our meal. Everything was so good and they have a life, music and people dancing and celebrating some birthdays. All atmosphere was happy and beautiful thank you very much.
