I've been here a few times in the course of a year, and it's an okay Pho place. My most recent visit was a week ago, and I was somewhat disappointed with the service and the pho. The server seemed to be in a hurry and rushed even though it wasn't busy and failed to inform us of unavailable items on the menu. Tried their food via uber eats. We ordered a pho and also a chicken banh mi. The chicken banh mi was excellent. It was holding an ample amount of chicken and almost spilling out because of how much filling was included. The banh mi was crunchy and satisfying to eat. The pickled veggies gave the banh mi a good balance. I thought it was well worth its value and would order it again without hesitation. I found that the pho was very average. The broth was not the tastiest I've had and i found it needed a bit more flavour. I probably would not order the pho again. It kind of fell short of the all the reviews I've read. The food is super tasty. I also like that this quick grab and go place has my favourite Vietnamese noodle soup which is the bun rieu. The shrimp paste that you add to the tomato broth adds so much depth to it and I'm glad they give you it on the side and you can adjust the flavour to your liking. The noodle soup which consists of a tomato broth also has tofu puff, pork and crab patty, pork slices and bean sprouts. They also have mint and lemon for you to add to it. The worker I have seen him at both locations and he's super friendly! This store is a grab and go place mainly take out but has a tall table for those that want to eat there but super limited. I have heard good things about this place, so I decided to check it out to satisfy my banh mi cravings. From the outside, the store looks quite small, and parking can be limited, though i had no issues finding a spot going on a Sunday morning right at opening. Upon walking in, there is absolutely no place for seating at all. They did have a counter and a couple of chairs, but the whole area was covered by storage boxes filled with ingredients, which took away from the look of the place. I ended up getting a small ice coffee with condensed milk and a grilled pork banh mi. My partner got the pork sausage banh mi. The wait was about 10 to 15 minutes. The coffee was delicious, it was strong and the perfect level of sweetness. However, the banh mi was very disappointing. Upon getting home, I realized that pate was extra, even though it's included in most banh mi places that I go. They were also quite skimpy on the pickled veggies, so I barely got anything in mine. The meat also tasted old as it was sitting out for a while. My partner felt the same about his banh mi. Overall, very bland in terms of flavors. So we decided to grab takeout food on the way home. We placed our order ahead of time thinking the food will be ready by the time the app told us to pick up. Turns out the food was ready 10 minutes before. So when we were having the food, it was cold. So there's some mismatch in terms of time. After all, as a consumer we want our food to be tasty and in decent temperature. As for the vermicelli dish I ordered, in terms of taste it wasn't too shabby at all. I do like the amount of veggies that went into it and it adds an extra layer of crunchy texture. The grilled chicken wasn't oily at all and had great flavour. Pork sausage was a bit meh. Then again I haven't had Vietnamese pork sausage for the longest time. I can't recall what I'm suppose to taste. Overall the dish is a 4/5. Vietnoms is a tiny little Vietnamese Restaurant with a very modern feel to it. Although mostly a takeout place, they do have counter seating for around 8-10ppl but no public washroom (that I could see). It's bright and clean, with white marble, a white brick facade, pot lights, and two large flat screen TVs on the wall showing very attractive pictures of their dishes. Their menu seems big for such a tiny space, with Appetizers, Banh Mi, Pho, Noodles, Vermicelli, Vegetarian, Rice, Stir Fry dishes, beverages, and more. It looks like they also do party platters. There was a steady stream of customers while we were there so business must be good. For our meal, we ordered Fresh Rolls with Beef, Pork Sausage with Grilled Pork and Spring Roll with Vermicelli, and my friend had one of the daily specials. I think it was beef with rice. I didn't get to try it but she said it was good. My dish, with the pork, sausage, spring roll, and vermicelli, was very good! All the ingredients were fresh and the flavours were very good, especially with the obligatory hoisin and hot sauce! It was also more food than what it appeared to be! Very filling and satisfying. I almost didn't have any room left for the Fresh Rolls but I had to try it. Mmm, it was good! A little squirt of hoisin and pepper sauces made it perfect! Again, very fresh! The food at Vietnoms is absolutely fantastic! This family-run, local Vietnamese takeout joint brings to us traditional comfort food that we have known to love! They have only 7 seats in the house, but you can also find them on UberEats and Ritual. Be sure to check out their Off Menu Specials, available Thursday to Saturday. It changes from time to time. Check out their IG for new updates! I have tried their Bun Rieu, Bun Mam, and Five Spice Duck Noodle Soup, and they are all delicious! I especially enjoy their housemade Banh Mi sandwiches. Their baguettes are baked fresh every morning by a local Vietnamese baker. It is crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. You can choose to add their housemade pate and fromage to any of their sandwiches. Tofu Banh Mi is also available! I'm also a sucker for Fresh Rolls toooo, with the creamy peanut sauce! This might be a contender for one of my fave Viet places in the GTA! This is a counter service restaurant - there's a couple bar table seats available if you choose to sit in. We ordered their spring rolls, pho dac biet, bun bo hue, and a unlisted noodle soup (fermented seafood-based soup). Everything we tried was really good! The bun bo hue is a little less authentic - there's no pork knuckle in it (no complaints cus I don't even like it to begin with) but instead they have their own homemade meat loaf which is delish!! The broth of all their soups is super flavourful and veryyyy low in MSG (if any to begin with). Spring rolls were very fresh and taro-filled. Parking can be a bit tight as this is a pretty tiny strip plaza with a Popeyes and other establishments. Totally recommend this place! I'm sure I'll be back soon! read more

I've decided to give this place a second try. Always friendly, this location is still petite but they definitely made big adjustments and my experience in flavour became so much better! Tony, the owner, is very appreciative of feedbacks and reacts to the slightest of customers' concerns promptly. I can say that this location is now one of my favourite Vietnamese restaurants. My friend and I ordered #501 (Vietnamese Baguette with Grilled Pork - $5.99), #200 (Vietnoms Special Rice Noodle Soup - L $10.75) and #403 (Hue Style Beef Noodle Soup - $10.50). Pho is not oily and has a flavourful broth. The pho is simple with sliced chicken, sliced beef, and beef balls. Secondly, I highly recommend trying out the Banh Mi with grilled pork. It had the perfect crisp with a great balance in flavour. It was definitely my favourite, and I look forward to trying out their other selections of banh mi. Last but not least, the consistency of the rice noodles was just right. I've tried other noodle soup similar to this but not as good. Definitely would recommend any of these for a quick take-out or dine-in. So far, I have eaten at the restaurant twice and was able to try their banh mi (grilled chicken and pork), pho (house special and their special of the day, which had a seafood based broth) and fish sauce chicken wings. I really liked their banh mi, especially their grilled pork one. The pork was very well marinated, and was not dry. The banh mi was crispy on the outside and airy in the inside. I would highly recommend adding the housemade pate! The seafood broth pho was made with fermented shrimp, but did not taste fishy at all. It actually had a hint of sweetness. Their house special pho was decent, I did get thirsty afterwards which suggest they used MSG in the broth. Their fish sauce chicken wings is a "must try" item! The thin layer of sauce coating the wings is addictive. I think it's a mixture of fish sauce, sugar and garlic powder. The chicken wings are on the smaller side, but I actually prefer that. There's approximately 8 spaces on the bar table to eat-in. Both time I ate there, there is a constant stream of customers coming to eat-in or order take-out. Their service is very friendly and they even came to ask us about the food during our meal! - something that is very uncommon for a pho place. I have been dying to come here and try it since it opened four months ago and I saw it on blogto... This place is famous for their Pho and their bahn mi... naturally I had to try both! When I entered, I was greeted by an extremely friendly and helpful person, who I presume is the owner. He suggested I try the beef bahn mi and explained that I have the option to get a chicken liver pate and cheese sauce on top. I was feeling adventurous so I decided to go for it! Let's start with the Bahn mi - the bun was crispy yet soft, the beef was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and had a hint of sweetness. There were just the perfect amount of vegetables to compliment the sandwich, and the pate and cheese mixture was incredible. It offered a nice savory flavor to compliment the sandwich Next up - the Pho I got the vietnoms special Pho, which came with beef brisket, rare beef, beef balls and chicken! The owner suggested I try this to get a taste of all the difference types of meat. I asked for it spicy but unfortunately he forgot to make it spicy, which is ok because it gave me a chance to try the flavors in their pure form! The broth was delicious, well balanced with a hint of sweetness. Given the high reviews, I definitely came in with high expectations. The parking lot was small but the shop was even smaller. It definitely is meant more for take out or Uber eats. The menu wasn't overly extensive and given my new found love of Vietnamese rice plates, it was a no brainer. I also ordered a deep fried tofu on the side. The tofu was quite overpriced. It was $5.99 for just a few pieces. The inky thing going for it was that it wasn't tofu puffs which would have been deep fried air. This actually has the soft tofu inside the fried skin. The rice plate was a disappointment in all aspects. First of all, it wasn't broken rice. Didn't feel very authentic. The meats were all overly salty. The beef was overcooked. The amusing thing is that hoards of people came in after us. Must be limited options the closer to downtown you get. I can name a whole bunch of Vietnamese places which are way better in food quality with comfortable seating in the north - from Richmond hill to Markham. We spoke with the manager (who I recognized from Lux Nail Bar next door) and he recommended one soup noodle that was off menu. He warned us of its pungent taste (wasn't too bad) but it was pretty good. He said it's a traditional dish that isn't normally served due to its pungency. (Sorry don't know the Vietnamese name) I asked for the fan favourite which was the Hue Style Beef Soup which was a tad spicy but also pungent-y. The place was happening though - he was very busy but also very attentive to his patrons. There were several phone orders, take out orders and people waiting for seats. Found this little gem on Yelp! Visited with my husband to grab some take out for a quick and comforting lunch. The space itself is cozy, clean, and bright with a few spots to eat in if you so choose. The owner was super friendly and in chatting with him we found out this spot is a family run business (with his aunt and mom). We ended up ordering a veggie pho and a beef flank pho to go. I liked how they bundled up all of the traditional pho toppings in a separate container (ie bean sprouts, basil, hot sauce, hoisin sauce, lime, etc) for adding to the pho - great idea! Bae said he wished his beef strips had less fat on them but I think he just needed to order a leaner cut (or different type!) of meat. Although I found the "Vietnoms special pho" to be just mediocre as the broth and noodles didn't really stand out (also not sure that I like having chicken in my pho, probably better to just stick with beef), the "Pork sausage, grilled pork, and spring roll with vermicelli" was amazing! The grilled meats were so flavourful and the portion was fairly large, well worth the $11.75. The restaurant is mostly meant for take-out, however they do have a few bar stool seats (for ~8 people) if you want to dine-in. Service is also great - they bring the food out to you and even clean up after you. I'll definitely be visiting more often as I do believe that this is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the North York area. read more

Finally got a chance to try this place and wow, it was definitely worth the visit. Bun Mam ($12) This was their off the menu special of the day. The broth was made with fermented fish paste which was very unique and flavourful, a taste I've never been able to find anywhere else in GTA. The soup noodles comes with generous portions of ingredients: fish, pork, eggplant and shrimp. Absolutely delicious! Fried chicken wings with fish sauce ($9.50 for 8 pieces) This was my favourite dish of the night. The fried chicken was super crispy, had a decent amount of fish sauce flavour that wasn't overwhelming, and was covered in fried garlic bits. Did not taste greasy at all. You can tell the chicken was cooked perfectly and the meat was moist. Banhmi with grilled pork ($5.99) We added an extra dollar to add pate to the sandwich which was absolutely worth it. There was a lot of grilled meat, veggies and the pate all complimented each other with a perfect bun to meat ratio. Delicious! Service was amazing. This place is a family mother and son business. I get very nauseous when there's too much MSG in the broth. The dac biet arrived HOT and steaming. The broth was a rich, dark colour. I could've honestly ate it without any condiments at all. The noodles were the flat white noodles which I usually don't like. But when mixed with the broth I could've ate it with any noodles. The beef balls were actually of good quality (I usually HATE pho beef balls). The bean sprouts, leaves, and lemon were all of fresh quality. Literally no complaints with their food. I have been driving by Vietnoms for months now, and it always catches my eye because of two things: 1) what a great name, and 2) I got excited at the prospect of having solid Vietnamese food close to home! Finally had the chance to stop by for dinner, and I am now doubly excited, because Vietnoms was GREAT. We ordered the bun rieu, which was an off-menu special, and the rice with pork chop and fried egg, and the deep fried chicken wings with fish sauce. Seating is limited at Vietnoms, but we were lucky and some seats opened up while we were waiting, and we were asked if we wanted to sit down in the restaurant instead of taking it to go. We were happy to take a seat and wait for our food! The deep fried chicken wings were great. A soft yet crunchy batter on the outside of the chicken infused with a savoury fish sauce flavour, cooked just right. The pork chop in the rice dish looked like it might have been a bit dry or overcooked, but it was tender and juicy. The bun rieu was my star of the night though. The broth was complex and flavourful, and it was jam packed with noodles, tofu, slices of beef, crab and shrimp paste, and I am sure I missed a few things. It really hit the spot, and I honestly want to come back just for the bun rieu. Overall, Vietnoms was great, and I can't wait to come back. The service was terrific (we got into a brief conversation around the fusion of northern and southern Vietnamese flavours from the food at Vietnoms!), the prices were reasonable and (I would consider them) cheap, and most importantly, the food was terrific. read more
