A co-worker suggested I go to Video Only for my first big screen TV years ago. I demurred assuming the service would be similar to the high-pressure tactics one sees at Best Buy. So, I went to an old standby that I hadn't visited in years ... Magnolia Hi-Fi. Boy was I in for a shock as I dealt with the same high-pressure tactics I would expect from a Best Buy. You can imagine my disappointment finding out that Magnolia is now owned by guess who? Yup, Best Buy. So, with great trepidation I went to Video Only. I bought the 65 inch OLED LG TV and their price was unbeatable. It was 300$ less than Best Buy and other online stores without any negotiation. I have been recommending this store for several years. They will really help you select the best TVs you've ever purchased. The price is always competitive but more than just that, they do know the products. Today I needed the 4 little screws from the LG TV stand as it had been hung on the wall and I moved. They don't sell screws. But they researched the online manual to find me the correct number to use at Home Depot it get new screws. But another sales person had saved screws needed, labeled them in a little baggy and handed them to me. That is why there is nowhere else you should go for your entertainment needs. BEWARE: If you spend any money with Video Only, consider it gone. They will not refund your money for any reason. And don't just take my word for it; look at other reviews and sites like CitySearch. MY STORY: I've been fighting with these people since August, trying to get them to honor their return policy. I've called, sent certified letters to Peter Edwards (the owner), complained through the Better Business Bureau, asked the State Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection to contact them on my behalf (which it did)... but they refuse to even respond. MY COMPLAINT: I bought a product with which I was not happy and tried to return it. The store/regional manager refused to refund my money BECAUSE I HAD OPENED THE BOX! How is one supposed to decide whether they're happy with a product without opening the box? ANSWER: It's impossible! Their policy says they'll refund your money "If, for any reason, you are unhappy with the equipment you purchase." Not in my experience. Spend your holiday shopping dollars somewhere that will do right by you if there's a problem. This outfit will not. read more

I recently purchased a new tv + sound bar combo setup from Video Only. The staff was professional, helpful, and all around wonderful to work with. Matt took great care of us and really helped ensure that we had a wonderful experience. During delivery, my soundbar was mistakenly left in the store. When I called to inquire about it - Matt drove the soundbar to our home on his own. Glad I came to Video Only, or I'd probably be sorry. This is my second plasma (2nd house) that I've purchased this year and I was pleasantly delighted with working with Craig and the manager at the Bellevue Video Only location. Being someone who works in the home automation and AV industry, I already knew which model I was looking for so I wasn't dazzled by all the bells and whistles on larger and pricier models. There was no need for a salesman to woo me with the priciest model, or compare with a lesser or better known brand. Be sure to do your homework BEFORE going there. Know which models have the best ratings, and reviews prior to speaking with any salesman. It's YOUR money afterall, so spend it wisely. Being someone in the industry I am privvy to some rather extravagent pricing (Black Friday) specials through our dealer reps, but the bottom line is that Video Only still beat them all. I went with a 50" Samsung plasma tv and they came down another $150 off their lowest marked price which was less than dealer cost. Even better, they had it in stock. I didn't realize that the consumer is able to negotiate prices like that. I'll be back, when I need something smaller for my bedroom. read more

Well cannot say I had a great experience at all. Went to buy a few speakers for the ceiling of our living room. We had a fire and needed to replace the current system. Video only had the speakers we wanted so we went to buy them. Well took forever for someone to help us. And when we did get help he told us that they do not carry the speakers even though they had them on the floor for display. I asked if they could order them. He told me no that they can no longer get them and the display is old. WHAT. they take the display down hello. What a waste of time. We then asked out a receiver for the living room. The one we picked out he told us was junk and to go with the bigger receiver. Then he said I will be right back... Yup you guessed it he never came back so we left. Dont' think I will return. I was in a market for a new TV for the living room. I did my research online, narrowed down my interest area, pretty much decided what I want but still needed to go and see the screens in person. I went first to Best Buy a left a bit disappointed. The screens were all over the place, some sizes on display, other not, lighting was a typical big box store. Next I went to Video Only - that was the right choice. All the sizes I was interested in were on display, competing screens of the same size next to each other, lighting was more home like. I had an opportunity to see and compare all (almost) all the models I was interested in side by side, in the size I wanted with no pressure, no crowd around me and with great assistance from sales rep (Sam). Really great experience! Next was the actual purchase. I was ready to buy online but I noticed the prices were competitive in store, slightly lower than in Best Buy and it was made to me clear they are flexible on them without even asking. On top of the regular prices there were offers remaining from the Christmas season that were at least on pair if not better than the best ones I could find online. Next I realized even these can be up to talks! Needless to say, I left with the TV in the size I wanted, higher model than the one I was initially looking for and for the price below the one I was ready to accept. I bought a Samsung OLED 65 " and a new Dennon Receiver. I had their Installers put together my System with other Items I had for surround. My system was not easy to figure out after the install for total surround sound. I called Chris and he offered to come to my House after work to program and walk me thru surround sound thru different modes. Craptastic. I went in here to price-shop for HDTVs, and to clear up some confusion I had about technology and picture quality (cause I was way too lazy to figure it all out on the interwebs). The salesman we got put the "dickhead" in "douchebag". When I asked him about how to get a TV that wouldn't have motion artifacts, he lectured me on how "movies all have that" and "the TVs are just so good they show everything that's bad in movies" and how he had gone to USC film school and that's how he knew so much. These days a brick & mortar store with as good a price as you get anywhere with knowledgeable sales folks rates five stars in my book. Our sales person, Chris had all the information we needed without any sales pressure. The TV we wanted was in stock and we loaded it in the car. I went back with my old TV to be recycled the next day. A few days later my wife noticed a lower price in a Video Only newspaper ad. I stopped back at the store with the ad and my sales receipt and was refunded the difference no questions asked. Really satisfied with this latest experience at Video Only. read more

I haven't rated anything on Yelp in months upon months...but I had logged in to find places to shop for a new HDTV a month or so back. I wanted to stop by a Video Only...I had never been to one. After reading these reviews on here, I almost didn't even bother; big mistake that would have been. Got a new top-of-the-line 46" LCD for $300 less than ANYWHERE else was selling it for, including online retailers. We weren't desperate to buy, and were able to negotiate a good deal and get free delivery and extended warranty as well. We even got a 90 day price match guarantee; find it less anywhere and we get the difference. Went by Best Buy to check out their selection, and they had the next model down from ours for about $200 more. Our sales guy was great. Persistant, but helpful and not "douchy". Very knowledgable, and he confirmed much of what I had researched online about the TV. Are all these other reviews from Best Buy employees or something? WTF? read more

Overall: I sure was sorry, sorry that I stepped foot in this place Doesn't the advert say "Visit Video Only or you'll be sorry?" Driving in to the car park I was already sorry I visited. I proceeded to go inside... and well, I certainly was not impressed. I was MORE sorry that I'd visited than if I didn't! It was dark and dingy and looked like some second hand store. There were about ten retail staff standing around gossiping and ready to attack any suspecting customers. We went in to have a look at two TV's we'd already narrowed the choice down to. The assistants were highly annoying and constantly eavesdropping - if I need you, I will find you! Their prices weren't even lower than competitors. Not new to the Video Only scene. Bought an LG at the Lynnwood location and they were nice as... well, sales people that aren't pushy. Here, I felt like I was hassled the whole time. "You should really get this because it'll sell out." or "If you don't want it then don't take it but you won't find a deal like this anywhere." Fine, I get it. But whatever, they have great deals on some tv/blu-ray deals. The BF and I already knew what we were looking for when we walked in but still wanted a little bit more info. We ended up with the Samsung but they said it was out of stock. We asked how long it would take and they said up to two weeks. *sigh* oh well, over Black Friday wknd, what can you expect? We paid for it and patiently waited. So, it's now been a little over three weeks. Just tried to inquire about when it'll arrive and too bad so sad Sally, not this week. So maybe next? The reply was that they didn't know. When it gets there, they'll call us. An ETA perhaps? Well, we did get a really awesome deal (says the guy) so we will just have to wait. oh, but here's a deal! I just bought a TV at Video Only. Jeff H at the Bellevue Store was very helpful and gave me a good deal ($150-200 off Amazon pricing). I have two big problems with Video Only. 1) The TV I bought was on backorder - they didn't know when it was coming in and couldn't give me any estimates. They charged my credit card when I purchased it, but I didn't receive the TV for 3 weeks (and only got it then because I opted for an open-box unit). I "returned" my original purchase and bought the open-box one - it then took 3 WEEKS for me to get the refund on my credit card. 2) They do not have a refund policy, so if you are unhappy or if the TV breaks, the best you can do is get store credit (which expires after a year). I can't think of another retailer where this is the case. From what I can tell, they have the best prices around, but the company is run like it's 1984 - literally with a credit card imprint machine. I walked into several other Video Only stores and was flat out ignored and given false information about TV's and inventory. When I called, they said they had the TV I wanted in stock, but when I got to the Lynwood store, they magically had none. Felt like I had walked onto a used car lot on Aurora. I would only recommend buying here if you are fine not having the option to get a refund and aren't worried about long-term support. I personally won't be shopping there again and would pay extra to have the support & return policy from Costco or Amazon. read more

We bought two TVs her 7 years ago and were pleased with the choices we made. When we moved recently, we wanted a flat screen and decided to pop in to get some info. Maybe we got a great sales guy because I did not feel at all pressured to buy. He answered all our questions (and we had lots) and did not try to push us in any way. The TV is in and working and so far I love it. When I asked about the retuen policy, he told me it was for store credit only once the packaging was open. They have a price match in place through Black Friday weekend so I figured we were guaranteed a great price also. read more

I loved how our recent transaction with Jared went. He was the reason why we gave Video Only our business, as opposed to Best Buy. He took the time to guide us in our hunt for a new TV and receiver. We ended up with an extremely sweet 75-inch Sony 4K Ultra HD Smart TV and a middle-of-the-road Yamaha receiver. Jared saved us a HUUUUUGE chunk of change. As we were finalizing our purchase at the counter, we had a snafu with our bank, which required us to engage in a highly stressful phone call for what seemed like an eternity, but he patiently waited and really tried to empathize with us. On top of everything, he put some effort into talking the company they work with for installations into getting us our ideal delivery and installation time frame. Video Only...kind of like a used car sales lot with pretty good tvs. This place is not fancy and their employees are a little sketchy (think used car sales men - come to think of it, I've never seen a femal sales person there). Nevertheless, we ended up purchasing twoLG LCD HDTVs from them. Not because of their sales tactics or because of their exceptional service (or lack thereof), but because of price. One tv was $150 cheaper than BB. Although, the sales person was more knowledgeable than the person at BB, but still weird. I would visit a high end or less sales pressure storre first and then take their price to Video Only. They will mostly likely beat any price, just don't them try to convince you to buy something else. Be strong. Just Say No. read more

I have interesting memories of this place as a kid who came with his parents in the 90's. Back then you would still haggle for prices in stores like this much like a car dealership. My dad always made haggling the most drawn out and strenuous process imaginable, but I guess it was expected back then. Today as a tech nerd I generally don't require much in terms of customer service since I know what I want, know the product and know the price worth paying. I came down to Video Only and quickly picked up a shiny new OLED with the best price in the area. This experience in itself for me was like buying anything else even a tooth brush, but let me tell you why this is a 5-star review. I talked to the sales staff about the televisions, their draw backs and their specs and this is what impressed me. The sales person I talked to 100% knew everything about the product and how those aspect would be valuable or important to a prospective buyer given their usage situation. If I didn't know it myself I would feel confident in taking a recommendation from the staff here. They know their stuff and I'm sure they'll match you up with the right product for you. read more

Best buy and magnolia are way over priced and under educated fresh out of highschool kids! I don't see what the complaint is all about. These ADULTS are well educated in electronics, I've purchased many tvs from them over the course of 10 years and have had great experiences, they're willingness to go the extra mile to price match you on anything! For those who flame on them, you should read the fine print before you sign anything. Who the heck signs documents without reading over it first? From what the salesman tells me, the policy was put there so people don't "rent" tvs for the weekend and return them after use. You can blame the people who took advantage of that and ruined it for everyone else. However they never charged me restocking fee and even let me exchange after my 30 days was up. read more

I just bought my 5th tv from this store. I have done business with them for over 20 years. Although they advertise safe distancing when I walked in neither of the two salesmen were wearing masks and if I hadn't spoken up the first would have violated my space. I had to back up and insist they mask up. Not cool. I told them my current Samsung TV has two bright spots in it. Online it said this is a common issue in that model year and so I had to replace my TV earlier then I should have. I also told them I had issues with the last sound bar I purchased from them and was concerned about it. I asked if they could pull up the records of my last TV purchase. They ignored me. I told them I had been unable to reach them by phone (for curb service) The number on their website didn't work. Frustrated I saw a TV that would work for me bought it and was terribly frustrated with their lack of the great customer service I'm used to receiving from Video Only. That was why, even with Covid, I took a chance to go and buy from folks I thought I could trust. I asked for the website comparison they said they didn't have it. I asked for some discount they declined (never have before) Even tried to sell me connectors I didn't need. Came home told my roommate what happened and he bought his new TV online. We bought our last big screen TV here about 10 years ago. The experience was first rate all the way, couldn't have been better. When it was time for an upgrade, we headed back and I'm glad we did. Every time I have gone there the staff is immediately friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The TV I bought 12 years ago is still great in the new system but I just bought is awesome. There was a football game that I watched that didn't come in very high definition, I called them to see if I was missing a setting and they even offered to change the TV out if I wanted to go to a higher level, even though it was used. It turns out it was just terrible broadcasting that one day. These guys are great I highly recommend them! read more

Shout out to Chris Olson, Sales Manager. I went to browse thinking I'd buy a demo unit elsewhere. Chris engaged me in conversation, discovered that I'm a knowledgeable enthusiast and left me alone with the remotes. I adjusted two 77" sets to "the same settings" (close) and took all the time I needed to determine my preference - then Chris made it impossible to not purchase a new set at the store. I felt respected and I felt like an informed consumer (nice when you're a retired old codger). Coupled with zero interest financing and free basic delivery it was game over. The delivery was scheduled as expected, the crew went a bit above and beyond, and I was totally satisfied. We hadn't shopped at VO since the late 90's when we bought our first "big" (and I do mean big) rear projection TV and a Tivo box (remember Tivo?). Changes (if any) since then were for the better.
