Computer Concepts got back to me very quickly when I requested a quote through Yelp after spilling scalding hot chocolate all over the keyboard. They were forthright about the chances of saving my laptop (not good), but said they would try and also gave me the info for a company that would salvage the data if they could not. While the computer could not be saved, the staff were kind, professional, helpful, reasonably priced, and even sent off the motherboard to salvage the data. I would take my computer back, but hopefully not for anymore hot chocolate spills. read more

I went to computer concepts when I first moved to Everett. My review is belated but truthful with helpful information to those who can relate to what I needed done or are simply considering this business for the services they provide. I bought a pretty nice XPS 8950 Dell Desktop from Costco. Out of the box it's a 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700 2.10GHz processor. With 32GB of installed RAM and a RTX 3060 Ti video card, it's not a bad workhorse computer but definitely not as good as a custom build. And one of its drawbacks aside from having the dell-specific motherboard and limited PSU was its terrible case and pathetic fans. I wasn't happy with the factory supplied Air CPU cooler, so went on a quest to find the best Air Cooler I could fit in the 8950 chassis. The cooler height is the biggest problem, you have to stay under about 145mm otherwise you cant fit the side cover back on. In the end, I found the Be Quiet Dark Rock TF2 to not only fit, but it offers significantly better cooling for both the K and non-K CPU's. However, this cooler may still be a bit small for the i9-12900K, but still better than the Air Cooler from Dell. Computer concepts helped me make it happen. Charles was very helpful and accommodating to me because I had limited options with my DELL. He also warned me that I would have the BIOS error every cold start up with my computer but I just need to hit control alt, delete and it bypasses that to the login page. Which I do that everyday and it's no problem. Computer concepts provided good customer service and I ended up installing a 1Terabyte Hard drive as well as the 2 fans and CPU cooler and the labor was very reasonable. Check out my photos of the invoice, texting with Charles about my plans for the Dell and of my computer. I also included a video of me bypassing the BIOS error and the fan noise. Temps are nice and low now even when playing Red Dead Redemption 2. Thank you guys! Compared to the computer places I used to go to in San Diego, it was great having you work on my computer. They are too busy. Turn around time is over a week. At least they honored the initial diagnostic cost that was quoted when I challenged my bill for an estimate which was not cost effective for the repair of my laptop. Tip: make sure to have a quote for just diagnostic only. read more

Short version: Great staff! They fixed my laptop on the spot in less than an hour. I'm a Digipen student and I highly recommend this place! Long version: Best place ever! Staff was very nice and explained things well when I asked questions. I originally was trying to reach out to a different place to ask if they could repair my computer but went ahead and hit the "send to other companies in the area" after filling out my computer issue here on yelp. Computer Concepts was the first and fastest company to reach out to me. I was shocked at their message because it was around 7pm at night and often you wont get a reply at that time. But they told me what they believed the issue might be and let me know that I could come by the next day. I thought they'd look at it them tell me to leave it with them for the weekend but to my surprise they fixed it up within an hour! Finally decided to buy a gaming PC after many years of struggling with the pricing on many of the PC components. Problem is when I get tech I always want the best and most shiny new toys and in the PC world quality isn't cheap. I began this journey by stopping into Computer Concepts and talked to a very qualified employee about a build. I didn't do a build with them at this time but I did end up purchasing a MSI Gaming X Slim 4090. Prices online for this GPU are astronomical high but I was bound and determined to get 1 of the best GPU (Graphics Cards) on the market and their pricing was definitely more reasonable and wasn't just price gouging which you see a lot of with these high end graphics cards. I then had them order a CPU for me the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D which is 1 of the best gaming chips on the market currently. They were around 100-150 over MSRP but looking online everyone selling this chip is well over MSRP so I went with them because I didn't want to worry about shipping damage or the box showing up empty, yes that does happen. I bought the rest of the PC components myself. Honestly if I could do it again I would just have them buy the parts because I probably could've saved money. I did have them put my PC together, install drivers, Install windows and make necessary changes in bios to make sure the ram was running at the correct speed. They also have their own checklist they follow with each build so you do not have to worry about anything. It is literally plug and play after they are done. The build turned out amazing and I was actually impressed with the cable management. Many places do not care about this aspect of the PC build because it can be very time consuming and they will just throw all the wires/cables in the back and slap on the back cover and call it a day. They took the time and did it the right way and I appreciated that tremendously. Over all I couldn't be happier going with Computer Concepts on my build. Very professional, upfront pricing, quality work and very fast. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to buy PC parts, peripherals or doing a build with them. read more

So it turns out if you run a gaming laptop hot enough for long enough, you might warp the membrane under your W key. This leads to hilarious but frustrating incidents in games such as running off a cliff, hugging walls unintentionally, or being unable to stop yourself from sprinting directly into an enemy group. I initially reached out to Computer Concepts to see if maybe the issue was the rubber spring cup - Will replaced it in a matter of minutes, and I thought the issue solved. Nope, turns out it was the board itself. I thought I could maybe do this repair myself, but my model of laptop requires a full disassembly including a repaste of all thermals and riveting of the old and new keyboard, which I am 100% not set up to do. Working in tech, you gotta know when to let someone at the pro level take a whack at a fix. This was one of those times. Will set me up with a new keyboard replacement and let me know it'd take about 3-4 hours for $395. Actual time taken was about 2 hours and the estimate was accurate within 7 cents! Now my keyboard is no longer propelling me into doom when it gets hot. Big thanks to CC and the folks working there. Everyone is polite, good humored, and professional. Shop's cozy and has some pretty solid deals on accessories/components. This is one of those rare situations where I hope I don't need to be a return customer, but if I need repair I know the Computer Concepts crew will get it done right. read more

I put together my own gaming PC for the first time last year and a few months later I was getting plagued by random and inconsistent blue screens. I want to specifically recognize Matt and Dakota for maintaining consistent communication with me. I had a stripped screw on my Razer Blade's vapor chamber, and they were able to remove it, replace my thermal paste with PTM 7950, and ran some tests/benchmarks to confirm. At home, I ran 3DMark and played some games, and everything was working better (and cooler) than before, thanks to them.
