A little over a week ago, my cat decided to water test my laptop. Long story short, a glass of water spilled into (!) my laptop. The laptop sat immersed in this pool of water for nearly 20 hours. Everything was complete toast. Although most of my files are in the cloud, especially the most important ones, I decided there might be the occasional file or folder that I might not notice tomorrow or even a year from now. I decided it would be best to retrieve the contents of the drive on the laptop for peace of mind. I left the laptop with them to do an assessment first. That assessment was ~$80. After their assessment, they indicated that the contents of the drive were retrievable and gave me an estimate of $400 to retrieve the contents of the drive (the $80 would apply to that figure). I decided it was worth the cost, if for nothing more than that elusive peace of mind. I also needed a drive to put the contents on (or provide my own). Since I didn't have one, and didn't want to bother with purchasing a 3rd party drive, they charged me $140 for a Toshiba Portable Storage device. So, for about $600 (w/ tax) I got everything off the lost drive. Was it worth it? Without a doubt. Would I go back? Hell yeah.

Our company stored over 1500 files at Iron Mountain. They will not allow us access to these files…read moreunless we pay them over $100,000.00 to scan them for digital access or to just PICK THEM UP. Their customer service is terrible; each response takes several days. When they do respond to you, they will send you filler emails with no solutions, and many errors you will have to point out and fix. They delivered 2 bins rather than 1 (which of course they charge us for both, even though we said all along we only wanted 1). They refused to take the 2nd bin away even though my colleague was there when they delivered them, saying we needed to call Iron Mountain to arrange a pick-up for the second bin (again, even though the people delivering the bins were RIGHT THERE). This was several months ago and we still have not been able to get them to come pick up our 2nd bin. Then, they have continued to show up unannounced to pick up our shredding materials. Due to HIPAA, any confidential patient materials must be behind 2 locks. So of course we do not have our shredding bin in a public spot that they would be able to access. Each time they arrive at our office unannounced and we are not immediately available to let them in (or even aware that they are there), we get charged $75 for a missed attempt!! It's so maddening. We are psychologists so we are with clients when they arrive. We aren't just sitting around waiting for Iron Mountain to show up unexpectedly. And then whenever we try to contact customer service to resolve any of these issues, no one has any record that we've called before, we get assigned a new case number, and nothing ever changes. Now we have been trying to cancel the service entirely for several weeks. They keep saying they will come to pick up the bins, give us a date 2 weeks out, and then they don't arrive. Meanwhile they continue to stop by to pick up our shredding (and no doubt to charge us additional money). This company is a total scam!! GoEBITS was able to see me that same day, conduct a quick diagnosis, and do the repair all in their own shop - no need to send out to an outside repair center. He doesn't run a walk-in shop like some other PC repair places. Therefore you have to call and make an appointment, or text him to communicate. He does take credit card payments online. He's fairly knowledgeable about PCs and repairing, so you can count on his expertise. If you need to replace any of the parts, keep in mind that there are additional costs to order and install the parts (as expected), so you need to consider the value of repairing the machine as opposed to buying something new. Since my machine ended up being old, the cost of repair wasn't worth it. It was however, a benefit for the peace of mind that nothing else could be worked on so I didn't have to waste any further time. Overall, I do recommend Richard for his services.
