Since I was out of warranty with Apple, I came to their University District store at referral from Apple service because the local Apple Store was all backed up. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very communicative. My repair was complete within the week - which was much appreciated since I depend so much on my Mac. This place & the people did good work in fixing up an old iPod Classic I had. The battery wouldn't hold a charge & some internal fixings were shot & needed replacements. Now the reason this review isn't 4 or 5 stars is because COMMUNICATION seems to be an issue aside from my device being there for over a month in waiting for a battery "that worked" & the internal connector or such to be fixed. The timing wasn't so much an issue as the lack of communication was. It's like I would like to at some point have an answer or my device back after a month. Because if you've got back ups or are absent minded, then they'll keep your stuff for a long time if you forget it's there. The screen on my Macbook cracked and needs a replacement service. I booked an appointment at their Bellevue location. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door that said "due to a water leak the location is closed and to please call a phone number". I called the number multiple times but nobody picked up. I made another appointment at their Seattle location and drove over. There, it seemed like making an appointment doesn't make any difference in their process. I asked for a quote on the repair, and they told me I need to pay a $70 diagnostic fee for them to give a quote. I understand that my personal diagnosis may be incorrect but I don't understand why asking for the cost of a specific repair requiring a specific part can't be answered straight up without a "diagnostic fee" extortion. I ended up leaving the place and will be tackling the repair myself. My 8-year old iMac started behaving very badly, and I actually bought a new one. I got a recommendation to try GoEBITS before unpacking the new computer, and I'm so glad I did. They found and corrected all the problems, installed a new hard drive, added memory and managed to transfer all my data, which was really touch-and-go with my corrupted OS. Not even worth one star. I explained really clearly the computer didn't need general troubleshooting, and I only wanted them to verify that two things aren't working: it can't boot from an external drive, and can't make disk images. These were right in the check-in notes. They told me everything would be covered under the Apple Care+ plan I have (mind you, this computer is only 6 months old). Instead, they didn't check any of the things they said they would (which it was checked in for, specifically), they wasted time doing general troubleshooting which is what I said NOT to do, and then at the end of 2-3 days without my laptop they called me to say it's ready for pickup... but it wasn't. They said they don't do the things they checked it in for that very week, and that it'd cost me $199 if I really wanted them to. Terrible waste of my time. False advertising. No follow-through. Lazy. I found this place on Apples support page after finding my MacBook needed a new battery. I took it in on a Saturday, paid $75 for a diagnostic fee and expected to wait a bit. I received an email and voicemail the following Monday stating that the diagnosis was completed and I should call to arrange the repair. I called all week and never got an answer. I left two messages, one of which said if they were too busy to answer they could email me the details along with an estimate. They did attempt two calls later in the week that I missed due to being at work, and also emailed a repair estimate, ($400) but no details on what the issue was. At this point I decided not to continue and left them a final voicemail saying I'd be picking up the computer and going somewhere else. I showed up to the appointment early and waited outside in the pouring rain. A very cranky fellow met me at the door who said he didn't have the tools to do the job. When I explained that the Mac store sent me, he rolled his eyes and said he couldn't help. He didn't even offer to let me in out of the rain. Had a very good experience here having my mac laptop repaired after an unfortunate run-in with about 16 oz of iced tea. They had great availability online, I was able to make a same-day appointment and bring it right in. They were up-front about the charges I would pay for the repair, and took it immediately. The thing I appreciate the most is that they worked with my timeline - I was leaving town in a week and a half and they made sure that I was able to take my fully repaired laptop with me - can't say how much I appreciate that! I brought my computer and sister's computer into this shop. I brought in my windows computer and hers was a Macbook. My computer had issues with charging and hers had a prohibitory symbol. I tried to recover it, but was unable to. I initially made an appointment online and came into the store.They have a 2-person in the lobby policy right now. I gave them her laptop and checked-in. I additionally gave them mine as well even without an appointment. The guy who checked me in was nice and helpful. It was a quick process. Then we left. Over the next week, we received phone calls from the updates on the computer. They double checked what they wanted to do to fix the computer and then asked for permission to do so. Later we came in for pick up and quickly received our laptops. I later found out that my computer still had further issues and had emailed their request service about it. They replied promptly and told me that I could bring it in for further service. I brought it back in and the same process occurred. Overall, reasonable service time and customer service. read more

That's the port on the laptop that the power cord goes into - because the pins on the power jack were damaged. But the machine was working. After it was in their shop for a week or two, it had a broken motherboard and the screen wouldn't light up. I was told that I brought it in that way. read more

I've been going to GoEBITS for years. The service technician I know and use there is Vitally. He is FANTASTIC. Over the years Vitally has replaced a screen in one MacBook Pro, fixed some electronic muck up in another, and a few days ago replaced a 1TB SSD with a 2 TB SSD in a different MacBook Pro. I would steer clear of this service. I took two computers for repair. 1.) one of the computers they erased completely and intentionally without my permission. 2.) the second computer had water damage. They said it would be almost 900 to repair but then it should be fine for a couple of years. The computer now only turns on infrequently. I took it back to repair twice and they simply said they couldn't recreate the error. For both of these issues, I've asked several times to speak with a manager. Both managers at both location Capitol Hill and u district said they don't have the authority to handle it and said they would get back to me repeatedly. They never called me back and never resolved the issue. Ive since taken the laptop to the Apple Store and they are attempting to repair it. I've asked for a refund at ebits and no one ever calls me back. I think honestly they just seem overwhelmed and understaffed. Jasper the owner has never called me and is completely unreachable. The other staff members won't provide an email or phone number or any method to reach him. I've used this company several times in the past but it's service seems to have declined. Avoid this place at all costs if you plan to have simple work done. Requested to have my computer cleared of dust and to have a diagnostic as it is a decently old computer (2020 Asus). Was quoted at 60 dollars before being told since it was a gaming laptop the price would be raised to 100 dollars after tax. Was told that the requested issues would cost me no more than 15-20 dollars of additional cost. When I picked up my computer they then charged me an additional 100 dollars for zero fixes. Computer was still clogged with dust and thermal paste was spread messily across the motherboard. Went back in to address the issue. Guy on the phone said he would look at it. He left for lunch and I had to have a Mac technician look at it instead. He did clean up the computer, but it is now struggling with heat issues that it never had. The good reviews they do have seem extremely old and feels like they are just riding of of that instead of delivering proper services. read more

I've always been skeptical of bringing my MacBook Pro for service anywhere other than an Apple Store, but GoEBITS was a BETTER experience than the Apple Store. Not only could I get an appointment at GoEBITS the next day (Apple was booked 2-3 days out), but they turned around a pretty big repair on my computer in JUST 2 DAYS. Instead of mailing the computer out (like Apple has to), they have technicians that do the repairs in store which significantly speeds up the wait time. They also told me that at first, Apple Care denied the necessary repair request, but after a GoEBITS manager called Apple Care to explain the situation, they approved it and the repair was fully covered. When I was poor, I had saved up for months to get a good computer. After awhile I brought it to this shop because the sound stopped working. They had quoted me something like 6 days to fix the issue but 2 weeks passed with no updates or change. At that point, I went in person because it was not what they told me. Not only did they not fix the sound issue, they charged me $600 without fixing the issue. They said there was rust on my motherboard, so the sound issue would not be fixed regardless. Ok, then why are you charging me $600 for not fixing the issue? Cost of labor and material costs for a service provider is only worth anything if services being claimed to be provided are in fact, provided. A diagnosis fee is not worth anywhere near $600 either. Prospective customers : Please take all of your business away from this place and somewhere more legitimate and skilled. Should have negative stars. This place is so incredibly AWESOME!!! Very long story short: I spilled coffee on my computer, and it very quickly spread into the display. Tried to get appointment w apple store and literally it was like going through an international airport terminal-three levels of security and then when I finally got through stressed out if my mind, they said FOUR WEEKS TO FIX MY display!!?? Fast forward: found goebits as authorized apple service place who apple approves to do work and I could get my computer back within a week or less time they said. I was like HELL YEA--but worried. We had a very disappointing experience with Goebits. Water was spilled on our college age son's computer shortly before he needed to leave for freshman year at his out of state school. The morning after the spillage, we tried to make an appointment with Apple. Apple Store couldn't see us until the following day, but Goebits was the authorized and recommended alternative, and they could see us that day. We dropped off the computer on August 3rd. They quoted us 3-5 business days TOTAL to ultimately do what they guessed was needed -- replace the logic board. They said they'd call after they'd assessed/diagnosed the computer and to get approval to move forward. At that time, I asked, so it will definitely be done by August 15, as that is when my son needed to fly out for college. The person helping us (not Tony) said, oh yes -- I can't imagine it would take that long. We did not get a call or email about the diagnosis until Aug 9th. We told them to move forward and reiterated the timeline. Very little communication after that. On Friday Aug 11, I was getting antsy and called for more details on the status. Tony took the call and was very polite and courteous, said he would take care of me and personally call me the following day no matter what he found out about the tracking order of the part from Apple. He also said the actual fix once they receive the parts should only be 2 hours and that they do work on Saturdays. On early Monday afternoon, the parts hadn't arrived, and Tony said they have shipped and there is still hope that they would arrive by end of day ,and if so, that they might still have the job completed by close of day. No contact after that. We had to leave for New Orleans in the morning. Tony said not to worry and they could ship it directly to NO when done, and we just needed to send him the mailing address within the internal system and he would give us a price quote for shipping. No confirmation that they got that info, and timing was crucial as we were not at that address for very long. Beginning that Tuesday, I requested Tony to call or email or message within their internal system to let us know he got all our info and to see what the updated status was. No response. My husband and I left numerous messages, asking just to call us and let us know even if the answer was that the computer would not be done in time. By Wednesday, we had to ask a Seattle friend to go into Goebits in person just to get a response from them. Miraculously, Tony called after our friend went in and let us know the parts had arrived earlier that day and that the repair should be complete soon. However, at this point, it was too risky to have them try to ship it to arrive in time for us to still be in NO. We said we would just pick it up in Seattle. Good thing we weren't waiting for them to complete it and ship it to Nola on Thursday or Friday -- It was NOT actually complete / we did not get a call about it being complete and ready for pickup until Sat, Aug 21. The computer was repaired in the end but the timing was a complete fail, and some clear communication throughout the ordeal would have been helpful. Ironically, my own Macbook pro's battery failed in the meantime. I took it to UVillage Apple store on Aug 12. They also needed to send the computer to Texas to fix, and quoted me 5-7 business days. The computer was actually fixed and ready for pickup Aug 17!! When I wanted to give feedback to Tony about my experience, he was pretty unwilling to take it. He kept saying he has hundreds of customers and he can't keep calling each one numerous times (well then don't tell them you are going to do so!!). And also, at dropoff, mention how short staffed you are and don't make turnaround promises knowing a certain customer has an extenuating circumstance and a deadline to hit. I am also a small business owner. In my business, I take customer feedback, respectfully, and do whatever I can to fix any issues that arise. The computer was fixed properly. The negative review is for the horrendous customer service experience and the amount of time it took to complete the order. If you have a Macbook repair needed, my recommendation is to wait an extra day for Apple to diagnose and do the repair themselves. read more

This place was great! They diagnosed my issue nicely and followed all the rules for repairing Apple laptops that are under warranty. I recommend this place as long as you are under warranty. My 2015 Mac was not under warranty so it was going to potentially cost $800 to replace the battery because of Apple's rules of device repair. I didn't let them do the repair because this laptop was not under warranty. If you're going to spend $800 you should just buy a new machine. Jet City Device repair has always been my go to for iPhone battery and broken screen replacement. Every time I spoke to them on the phone was a different person. I wasn't able to come back for several months to pick it up and they said there policy is after 30 days they can keep the computer. I highly recommend this place for Macbook repairs! My 2012 Macbook Air battery was no longer holding charge without the power cord and had surpassed its cycles. I made a reservation with GoEbits through Apple support for the following day. (The earliest appt. with Apple was at least 1 week away). Jesper (the owner) was super friendly, explained the process/timing, and provided me with a quote up front. The quoted cost was higher than what Apple charges, but GoEbits does all of their repairs in-house which saves a ton of time. In addition, they had the part in stock which saved on shipping time. They had my laptop ready with a new battery in about 30min. The final cost ended up being less than what they originally quoted and now my laptop is good as new. When I got there, the person behind the desk would not even LOOK at my phone and said it "needed to be replaced" and said to go to the Apple store if I wanted a quick replacement. This place is awful. I had an issue with a 5 day old mac book I'd bought for my daughter for school, so I brought it in. I could have simply returned it to the Apple store and gotten a new one, but I figured it would be covered. When I came back to pick it up, they told me it had corrosion on the inside, which is basically impossible since it was brand new. They wanted to charge $100 for the repair. I said I didn't want to pay that, as I could simply return the computer to the store and get a new one. The manager agreed, and said he'd make some calls to find out the best course of action, then call me back and let me know. I received a call a week and a half later letting me know that the computer was ready. When I went to pick it up, they once again wanted to charge me $100 and said exactly the same thing they had said before. When I restated that I could just return it, they asked me to leave it with them for a few more days so they could make some calls and figure out the best course of action. I was like, "What? Is this groundhog's day?" I ultimately just paid the $100 so my kid could have her computer back, but she was without a computer for the better part of a month, and their customer service SUCKED. read more

A friend recommended them after my computer died, and offered to drop it off for me. They quickly responded to me that they could get the data off the laptop (YAY!!!), waiting patiently for me to choose a new laptop and have it delivered. It was almost 6 weeks in total, so I really appreciate them waiting and then making it all happen so quickly and easily. The thought of transferring the data off whatever device was storing it filled me with anxiety, so it was fantastic to leave everything in their hands. The cost was just slightly over what they'd quoted simply to get my data off the old computer and well worth it to me. Jesper and his team are amazing!! I spilled tea on my Macbook Pro 16 2022 and they were able to fix it for $498!! When I first spilled on my macbook, I went to the Apple store and they said it was a flat rate of $1490 for any liquid damages. They referred me to GoEBITS, which is the only Apple certified shop in Seattle with actual Apple parts. I brought it in on Wednesday evening, their technician was confident they could fix it without having to replace the logic board and by Monday morning it was already fixed, saving me $1000 that I would've spent. AND all my data was still there! Definitely freaked out in the beginning but so glad I came here for help and they fixed my Macbook at a super reasonable price.
