One Hour Device Repair - Redmond

One Hour Device Repair - Redmond

Quick and efficient service without an appointment. He replaced a cracked camera lens and screen…read moreprotector on an iPhone 13 for a reasonable price... within an hour as promised.

Had an emergency phone screen replacement for my girlfriend's Samsung S25+ after it dropped on…read moreconcrete and cracked. Cost $330 for the repair. After replacement my girlfriend and I started noticing condensation both front and back camera lenses that eventually led to the phone randomly turning off. Tried troubleshooting but unable to turn phone on. Took it to another third party phone repair shop for diagnosis and was told whoever did the replacement left the inside messy and the screen connection was loose. The repair guy was able to bring the phone back to life during diagnosis but the screen was flickering. He recommended to take it back to where it was originally repaired. Drove back to Redmond and explained the situation. Employee said it will be about 2 hours to take a look and will call/text when ready. Okay cool. So we waited 2 hours and when we came back and he asked did you receive a text. I said it was already the 2 hour mark... The one hour device repair guy then explained the screen connection is corroded and proceeded to show a picture on his phone of the corrosion. He suggested we must've dropped it in water. So now I'm thinking, how can a connection be corroded internally if this phone is water resistant and the phone had these problems AFTER the repair? Even so, we NEVER exposed it directly to any source of liquid since the time of initial repair. Even if we did, shouldn't it NOT have this issue anyway? Also we NEVER received any document or signed anything acknowledging of any potential risks after repair. I asked the repair guy what are our options. He said he can order the screen replacement and have it done on Wednesday. I asked him if this was going to be charged. He said yes. I said no. He said call the number for "headquarters". I called and no one picked up. We left and on the drive home the number from "headquarters" calls us. I explained the situation again to "headquarters" guy and asked for what are our options. He said we'd have to pay $309. I said no. He said let me place you on hold and call the repair guy in Redmond. We waited on hold for a bit. He comes back and says the corrosion is from water damage. I'm thinking what is this guy trying to imply? We continued to have a back and forth until he relents and says I can do it for $209. I said no thanks. That is literally the cost of a replacement phone adding both repair costs. Honestly I was livid after this conversation. Not only was there zero accountability from their end, but they tried to shift blame on the customer for using their phone normally. TLDR: Please make sure you are aware the risks of getting anything repaired from this business. It might make more sense buying a replacement instead.

Zero stars if I could. They will make your computer unusable and leave you high and dry with zero…read moreaccountability to fix what they broke. At least that was my experience. Avoid seeking help from these guys as they will do everything but help. And then they will be rude and dismissive of your concerns on top of that. It was a terrible experience that I hope others never have to experience. Save your money and go elsewhere dependable.

Update: 11:33 AM on 3/24/2023 in response to Emerald City IT's Google Review comments, "This man…read morebrought in a computer after he experienced "pops and cracks" coming from the motherboard. The computer is not fixable. I think he smokes meth..." When I brought my computer in, I mentioned "cooling fans grinding a bit and the graphics card putting off a static buzz" - all communicated over text message which I have screenshots of. Never once did I mention "pops and cracks" coming from the motherboard. That was a previously non-existing issue until Correo worked on my PC. Also, to say the computer is "non-fixable" is a completely false statement and reflects your capabilities. I have another shop FIXING it as we speak - just for a lot of money because of the damage done by Correo and Emerald City IT. As for smoking meth, very mature move from a business owner... Good to see customer services comes first. STAY AWAY!!! COMPUTER RUINER!!! This guy is a hack!!! He will fry your machine, and then make fabricated claims about "existing electrical damage" being the reason for the computer being fried. Additionally, he will fail to provide a logical explanation for what caused the issue. Long and short of it, I dropped off a functioning computer, and a day later picked up a $2,500 paper weight because of the work performed. Do I have a story for you... Last Sunday, I took my custom built gaming PC in for a standard hardware cleaning and maintenance. It was working perfectly fine beforehand - I was gaming current gen games until 30 minutes before dropping off the computer. Because it was a few years old, I wanted it to receive a professional deep clean and maintenance - boy was that a mistake. Through the cleaning process, Correo fried the motherboard, and rendered the computer non-functioning (it was never clearly communicated that the computer was now non-functioning until I took it home and fired it up). He then tried to upsell to a newer motherboard because of the "electrical damage" to the existing motherboard. He also tried to sell me a new custom built gaming PC (for $3K-$5K) apparently because he fried my computer. I said no, and that I wanted my current computer "running as best as possible." Flash forward - I picked up my computer Monday (still surprisingly dirty following a professional "Clean and Tune-Up"), took it home, hooked it up, and... FRIED! The PC wouldn't even boot past the Bios screen. I immediately tried texting Correo for assistance - no response. I then called Correo for assistance - he answered the phone but refused to listen to me, berated me, continuously interrupted me (despite his insistence that interrupting is rude), and eventually hung up on me because he refused to address the situation. That evening I sent a follow up email requesting assistance - NO RESPONSE. Emailed again Tuesday morning - NO RESPONSE. Emailed again Wednesday - NO RESPONSE. Left a voicemail for Correo on Wednesday - NO RESPONSE. Emailed again on Thursday - NO RESPONSE. Left ANOTHER voicemail on Thursday - NO RESPONSE. Finally, my wife called Correo on her phone, connected with him, and the same phone conversation as last time ensued - she was nothing but pleasant, and tried to clearly, calmly communicate with Correo. However, Correo continuously interrupted her, didn't listen to her, berated her, and eventually hung up on her. I have now taken my PC to another PC repair company, and they have validated that all damage done to the computer was a result of the work performed by Correo and Emerald City IT. They made it explicitly clear that there is no way I would have been operating the PC, let alone gaming, if there had been electrical damage to the motherboard before dropping off the PC at Emerald City IT. Fortunately they can salvage the PC... but only at 10X the cost of a standard tune up because of all the parts Correo fried... To summarize, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT use Correo & Emerald City IT for any IT related matters. He will damage your assets, drag out the process, cost you A LOT more money in the long run, and be a completely rude person throughout it all. Buyer beware...
