Our company stored over 1500 files at Iron Mountain. They will not allow us access to these files unless we pay them over $100,000.00 to scan them for digital access or to just PICK THEM UP. Their customer service is terrible; each response takes several days. When they do respond to you, they will send you filler emails with no solutions, and many errors you will have to point out and fix. They hide behind fake incompetence to defraud you and not respond to your emails for help. DO NOT use for your business. read more

I wish I had read all these terrible reviews before we signed up with this company. We have a small psychology practice and ordered a shredding bin to keep onsite, that Iron Mountain was supposed to come and empty out periodically. It's been a nightmare from the start. They delivered 2 bins rather than 1 (which of course they charge us for both, even though we said all along we only wanted 1). They refused to take the 2nd bin away even though my colleague was there when they delivered them, saying we needed to call Iron Mountain to arrange a pick-up for the second bin (again, even though the people delivering the bins were RIGHT THERE). This was several months ago and we still have not been able to get them to come pick up our 2nd bin. Then, they have continued to show up unannounced to pick up our shredding materials. Due to HIPAA, any confidential patient materials must be behind 2 locks. So of course we do not have our shredding bin in a public spot that they would be able to access. Each time they arrive at our office unannounced and we are not immediately available to let them in (or even aware that they are there), we get charged $75 for a missed attempt!! It's so maddening. We are psychologists so we are with clients when they arrive. We aren't just sitting around waiting for Iron Mountain to show up unexpectedly. And then whenever we try to contact customer service to resolve any of these issues, no one has any record that we've called before, we get assigned a new case number, and nothing ever changes. Now we have been trying to cancel the service entirely for several weeks. They keep saying they will come to pick up the bins, give us a date 2 weeks out, and then they don't arrive. Meanwhile they continue to stop by to pick up our shredding (and no doubt to charge us additional money). This company is a total scam!! Absent receiving an official quote (my bad). They charged me 925.00 for 18 small bankers boxes. Used them the year before for more than 25 boxes but had a quote so was a lot less. Sorry no refund, no adjustments. Scammers! read more

Wow. I thought this was a reputable business. It's not. I wasted over 6 hours waiting for them to show up, reschedule, figure out what I asked for (simply to have 4 bins delivered and then picked up), and in the end, they didn't even finish the work (I had to use another business that actually knew how to do their job). We hired Iron Mountain for our warehouse document destruction/shred project. They never showed up to complete the work. They kept jerking us around all day saying they would be there in a couple more hours, but never showed up. Then they had the nerve to charge my credit card for services they didn't perform. It's been 4 weeks and I still haven't received a refund for the charge on my credit card. Customer service is all around terrible. Never use them. I only gave them one star because zero isn't an option. Stay far away from Iron Mountain! read more

I hired this company to help manage our document storage. I let them know we were on the second floor and did not have an elevator. We are not a big company- there are only 7 of us. For 2 months I tried to work with them to get someone to 1) bring us our bins and 2) remove all the documents that had been stacking up while waiting for them. I would get a phone call saying they would be out tomorrow. Tomorrow would come and no one would show up. I would call to find out what happened- they would give me some lame excuses- one went so far as the delivery driver had a broken arm and couldn't get up the stairs...wait? what? Eventually, after talking to 4 different supervisors of different departments, the truth came out that they didnt want to walk up the stairs to our office. My original phone call with them was very clear we had stairs and no elevator. So, no one ever showed up but they had the nerve to send us a bill for over $100.00!!!! I DON'T THINK SO. I called another company and I LOVE THEM. If you are looking into Iron Mountain, call DB Secure instead. You will be much happier and have zero headaches versus all the ones you get from Iron Mountain. read more

this company sucks and we are a small business and they didnt put me on the schudule even though i called them to make an appointment for the second time and i told them that i want the them to come at a cetain time when somebody will be there to open up the garage for them to pick up the boxes and they never showed up and when i called them about it they said we have other clients to work with on that day so i just cancelled the service all together please dont used them there a big headache to used. read more

I give zero stars to this company but I have to give at least 1, even though I cannot even find a reason to give 1. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with! We sold our self storage company and needed a reliable shredding service to help us out. NOT the case! It took a 1 month turn around time to initiate service and have totes delivered. There is NO one to call and talk to. Everyone within this company seems to be unable to give customer service. You sit in a painful phone tree system, which eventually gives you a customer service agent who is barely understandable, to only then be transferred to your "sales rep" who never seems to be available. When they do call you back and you happen to miss the call, don't expect to be able to reach them for another 2 days. The picking up on my shredding totes is proving to be equally as painful. One rescheduled pick up appointment on their part, to the 2nd appointment as no show on their part, with no communication of when they will pick up. Unreliable, and NOT customer service friendly whatsoever. USE caution when signing up for this company. HORRIBLE experience thus far! read more

I am a small business owner and attorney. I have used Iron Mountain to help with records and storage for a long time. I now have Washington Archive Management handle my needs. The difference between the two companies is night and day. Basically, Iron Mountain sucks. They cost too much, they have no customer service and, in my opinion, they are dangerous. They actually lost over 40 of my boxes. If I had more time I would sue them for negligence. As it is, I am happy to no long do business with them. Zero stars would better evaluate this company's dysfunction. I wont go into great detail but suffice to say I made arrangements 4 weeks in advance for a pickup of 150 boxes to be shredded. I had my crew move the boxes to the designated pickup location and we waited and waited. After about five calls all routed to India or somewhere I was still unable to get any one who could tell me when a truck would arrive. Of course no truck and no call with an explanation. Stay away from this company at all costs! There is much more to this encounter but it goes down as the most dysfunctional customer experience that I have ever encountered. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!! I'm a brand new customer. The first month they failed to show up to pick up the shredding. I was told that they were understaffed and are having trouble keeping up. Why take on new customers then? I was told that the shredding would be picked up on my next scheduled pick up (nearly 3 weeks away). But I had already been charged for the missed pick up!! I insisted they do the job they were already paid for. IM finally arrived to pick up the shredding a week late. Now it's the second month. Again a no show! Again, I have to call as I've been charged but no service. First I was told that they came at 8:05 a.m. and no one was here. Our office hours have been clearly communicated as 9-5 on multiple occasions. Then after a few minutes on hold, I was told that there was an error and that the shredding had been picked up at 8:05 a.m. Impossible as no one was here to let them in and the bins are all FULL! Now 10 days later, still waiting after being told on several occasions that they would pick up the next day. Two more no shows. So I've called to request they cancel my service. And they want to charge me to pick up the bins that contain all the shredding that they still haven't collected. When pigs fly! Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. Try Shred It instead. I hear they have their act together. What a racket. read more
