I contacted Computer Concepts about a issue I'm having with my monitor and very shortly after I emailed them I received a very detailed email asking additional questions along with quoting me prices for the repair depending on the route I choose to go. It was then I realized I'm fairly distant from their location, which I noted in my follow up response to them. Not only did they respond back but they also continued to offer advice on how to fix things. This is a rare and outstanding way of conducting business. I strongly encourage anyone looking for computer related repairs or a new computer to check this place out. They helped my son and I troubleshoot a motherboard POST issue - turned out to be the previous owner had incorrectly mounted the mobo without spacers which tweaked or shorted something until They also have a range of neat stuff. I have an old-ish self-built PC that up and blue screened when I attached a new KVM, and repeated "auto repair" attempts just dug it into a bigger hole. I exhausted my Windows expertise and put out a call for help to Yelp. Four replies, Computer Concepts was the most thorough and I liked the positive reviews so brought it in. They tried valiantly, but were unable to recover the Windows install. They installed Windows on a new drive and left my old drive accessible as data, so I'm not as bad off as I could have been. My laptop took a crash couldn't do anything with it so I looked for places to take it in. I was confused why it was having pro since it was less than two years old. I took it in and was helped by an older gentleman and despite his best efforts he couldn't figure it out and would need to keep it for a day to really get into it. I got a call they had worked on it and found the issue. My bill was 175 and expected it to be much higher. My laptop wasn't holding a charge I couldn't access anything and was completely shut out of it. My laptop has had no issues since it was fixed and I'm very thankful. read more

My computer ceased working. It had been wonky for quite a while. I called Computer Concepts in Seattle (from Montana) and spoke with Charles who was both kind and helpful. With his agreemnt I shipped the computer by UPS to Computer Concepts. The next day Will called and told me the computer needed to be replaced. Can't say enough good things about the folks at Computer Concepts. After bricking my gaming PC during what should have been a routine upgrade, I was preparing for the worst-case scenario of having to replace the motherboard. I reached out and was given a reasonable quote over the phone with an explanation of which situations might land me near the lower or higher ends of the range. When I came to drop it off a few hours later, the tech hooked it up right then and there, listened to all the background information I had gathered to try and diagnose the issue and the fix on my own, confirmed my suspicions, and reset the motherboard. He was able to take care of a computer that had been dead for 3 months and wouldn't enter the boot sequence and, additionally, a pesky issue that had been preventing me from upgrading to Win11, in under half an hour. I was charged for 15 minutes of labor and happily walked out the door with my computer. I couldn't be happier. Thanks so much! read more

Computer Concepts was a life saver. I had mistakenly decided to build my own PC again, despite not having done so in almost 2 decades. I had wanted to splurge on a high end system because it had been a while. Well, with a full time job at Amazon and a kid, I didn't exactly have that much free time for this project. Not only did it take forever, after I assembled the damn thing, it wouldn't boot. This was incredibly stressful for me. After troubleshooting on my own, I was pretty sure the issue was with the motherboard, but I wouldn't be sure unless I ordered a brand new one and tried again. The uncertainty, and the lack of time, made further progress impossible. I constantly worried about it. Enter computer concepts. They had a great testing setup. The person who was assisting me was named Will, and he was able to confirm in just a few hours that the problem was indeed with the motherboard, and was nice enough to test my other components such as the memory and CPU and tell me that they were working fine. At that point I did not want to deal with the stress of ordering a new motherboard and reassembling everything again.. So I asked Will if they had any motherboards and if they could do the build for me. Yes they could! My broken motherboard was an ROG Strix Gaming X570 chipset. They didn't have the same one, but their premium mobo was Aorus Elite wifi, also X570 chipset, with comparable price and performance. So I asked Will to redo the build with the Aorus Elite wifi. He actually finished this on the same day, but I couldn't pickup until the next day. He even installed windows too! The total cost of labor for troubleshooting, install, plus the motherboard was just a fraction of the total cost of my expensive computer. It was totally worth the saved time and peace of mind. This was about a month ago and the system is working great. Not only that, Will did a great job organizing the wires (I had left mine a tangled rats nest), and he got the RGB lighting working too. I had also been unable to mount the fans to the top of my PC correctly, and he solved that problem as well. Fantastic experience, great service, great testing setup. Overall: Would I come back to this place? Absolutely yes. Despite the fact that they totally failed on follow ups and at the end they couldn't fix my laptop, they found an alternative solution for me instead of just saying "have a nice day". People I interacted were also nice. I never got the sense of "they are taking advantage of me" from this place. I'm glad to have found them. I have another laptop with issues, I'll take it to them as well. Details: Negative (reason for missing 1 star): My laptop stopped working. I took it in for them to take a look at it and fix it. They didn't follow up for a long time (more than a month). I had to call them back to see what's going on. Once they said they'll call me back, but they didn't. I had to call them to learn what's going on. In the course of 3 months I had to call them several times to get an update. Overall they lack follow up. Positive: At the end, they couldn't figure out what's wrong with the laptop. But because so much time has passed they offered an alternative solution for me which I considered acceptable and at the end it worked out fine. read more

My computer was slow and not waking up from sleep and crashed half the time. I was hating it. A knowledgeable colleague suggested a RAM upgrade. So I sent a Yelp e-mail blast to several vendors. Will from Computer Concepts responded first, within an hour or two, asking the make and model. After a little research he had priced my upgrade and kept me apprised of the arrival of the parts. So two weeks later I brought my machine in. Will told me two hours. I hung out in a coffee shop, and in just under two hours Will had my computer running much faster. At my request he also replaced the power button, which was acting wonky and required massive jiggling to turn on. Now I'm really happy with my computer; it feels like a brand new machine and runs so much better than before. I'm really glad I brought it in to Computer Concepts. It's a bit of a drive, but it's where I'll now be going for all my future computer issues. Will was timely, to the point, and charged fairly. Will really stepped up when I wrote that I wasn't completely happy with the service I had received the first time. I took the hard drive that failed and a second hard drive that was also not working back to him to give his services another shot. Will was forthright and honest about how long it might take to recover data from the drive and that much of it may already be corrupted. The second drive could not be serviced, it comes from a raid system or has some sort of protection on it. But the first drive I would guess that Computer Concepts was able to get about 70% of the drive back to me, copied onto another drive. About 50-60% was corrupted but at least I can see the files and compare them to what I already have backed up on other drives (I had been in the process of backing up the drive when it failed). I feel fortunate. I also fully appreciate the effort Will put in to make certain I was satisfied. Thank you Will. read more

I brought my HP Spectre laptop to Robert, after other IT persons had tried to fix a problem I was having with the sound. Both the speakers and the mic weren't working even though when testing them, the indicators showed that they were working just fine. In Googling the problem, I discovered that countless others were (are) having the same issue, with no help from HP in resolving the problem. Robert dove in and somehow was able to fix it when NO ONE ELSE has been able to do so (this includes my son who is a high level IT/AI guy who went to MIT). Robert did an amazing job, and I could not be happier. I will be recommending Computer Concepts to my friends and family in the area...that's for sure! Very special shout out to Robert!! If there were more than five ***** available, I would add them! P.S. I felt very safe and comfortable, as all COVID-19 precautions were taken. I recently purchased a refurbished desktop computer from Robert. He was very helpful, professional and transferred all my information to the new computer. A few days later I ran into some issues and I called back to the store and spoke to one of the owners. Apparently my PC was hacked and for over an hour the owner via phone went into my computer and cleared out all the hacking. He then installed antivirus and malware Software at my request. He was extremely helpful and now I feel totally protected from outsiders. I will continue doing business with this company as long as I live in Washington and recommend it to anyone. read more

My grandson knocked off my laptop, breaking off the charger into the computer. Robert came to the counter immediately when I entered the shop. Robert and Will were both wearing masks. All proper caution was practiced. Robert took the laptop, pulled out the tiny charger part, plugged in the laptop to be sure it was working, and sent me on my way. He didn't charge me! Other reviewers have commented on the expertise shown when dealing with complex computer issues. I discussed the possibility of adding memory to my iMac and will send them the specs. These guys were awesome. I had called to see if they could update a SSD drive that was almost out of room. They gave me a quote and options over the phone and said bring it in any time. They sent me a work order, smart because I had their address and everything already to go. When I came in, at 10am, before they took it, they ran some diagnoses on the counter, confirmed the workorder and the replacement that was in stock. They must emulate Scotty on StarTrek as they said probably the next day for completion, then they called me two hours later to say it was done. Back then these places truly were the future as you could go into one of these shops and see the very latest computer technology and video games. Friendly staff, clean location and easy parking! One thing that was a pleasant suprise here is that you can see the work area and who is working on any repairs you may have. They also recycle old computers and computer monitors,ext which is greatly appreciated. I know WA has e-cycle where there is a common feature, but it is always nicer to give it to a place that specializes in the item so you know it will have its best future! I've always prided myself on building my own computers, going back 25 years, so when I tried to swap out my motherboard last year and it didn't work, I had to bite the bullet and seek professional help. Little did I know what a friend I had right here in North Creek. Computer Concepts quickly diagnosed my problem (I managed to blow out my CPU somehow) and offered me a solution quickly and inexpensively, and they were VERY respectful and observant of COVID-19 protocols, which at my age is pretty important to me. Took my old used laptop in there because it just wasn't working right and it took the tech about 30 minutes just to remove all the screws and get it open and we found with might be a problem, and there was no charge for that consultation.
