First visit we had a great waiter and the second visit we had a waiter who clearly didnt care much at all. My friend and her family treated me to dinner at Victor's last year. We made a reservation online which turned out to be a good decision because it was very busy. The building is an old church from the 19th century. The restaurant is beautiful, but there's really not much of a waiting area. When we checked in, we had to wait a few minutes right by the door. The front patio was busy and servers were hustling during the dinner rush so it felt like we were in the way. At one point, my friend's elderly mother was coming up the stairs outside to come in and one of the server's let the door close in her face. I don't think the server realized she was standing behind her, but it was very off putting. Once we were seated, the service improved. I started with the Basil Gimlet. It was really good and refreshing. I also had a Pear Martini which I enjoyed. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Piccata. It was delicious! I enjoyed the lemon butter sauce and capers. When I placed the order, I asked to sub the spaghetti with angel hair pasta. Our server said they didn't offer angel hair which I found a little strange. He then told me he wasn't even sure what angel hair was, but said that he's had other customers request it. The whole exchange was odd and funny. I didn't get a chance to go back to Victor's on my last trip, but I would certainly be open to dining there again if I have the opportunity. read more

Another great meal at Victor's. Very Few nice restaurants are even open on Monday evenings. If you're looking for great food and spectacular wine in a small, elegant setting then Victor's is your place. Starting with the fresh baked bread that comes out steaming hot to the olive oil and herb dip, the best Caesar salad I ever had, and the pasta and huge meatballs was such a delight. We had an amazing night at Victors for a birthday. We had the calamari which was probably the best calamari that I've ever had. The chicken piccata and the chicken parm were also very very good. Came here for an intermission of a volleyball game in York PA. The place looks like a church from the outside. Bartenders were pleasant. Served us some ice cold draft beers We also had a few bites. Ordered the calamari which was just okay. And the bruschetta that was just one piece of bread topped with mozzarella and some cherry tomatoes on top. Not bad tasting. We didn't really come for food. My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and everytime we have Manh. I love her she's absolutely fabulous and the food there is just as good. The whipped feta, toasted cheese ravioli, and the veal saltimbocca are to die for. If you've never been here before I 10/10 recommend. read more

We dine here several times throughout the year. Brought friends that have never been here before. She is a huge pasta fan and Victor's didn't disappoint any of us. From the Bolognese, Chicken Piccata, pizza and the Fettuccini and let's not forget dessert. Salted Caramel Gelato, Tiramisú and Creme Brulee every bite was eaten. Our server was very attentive and helpful with honest suggestions. We were scheduled to eat outside but due to the drizzle they moved us inside. Was in the area for a wedding and the night before we still had to eat so we stumbled across this place which indeed looks like a church and is tucked in the middle of a residential area I already knew this would be good. And true to how I feel about most italian dishes eating my leftovers the day after tasted even better! I apparently was on a scallop binge because I got the scallop appetizer and the scallops and risotto. Also got the meatball appetizer. All three were great choices each preparation of the scallops was delicious and the meatball wasnt over mixed and it was seasoned well. Drink menu was cute, and over all ambiance was adorable we were literally sitting in the courtyard of an old church. The day we went there was live music inside which spilled outside for the enjoyment of the entire restaurant. definitely stop here if youre in the area and looking for a good meal and nice time read more

Victor's made me sad. It used to be one of our favorite restaurants when we were in PA. The last time was very disappointing in every respect. The food was not up to par, there weren't enough servers and those that were there were not very good at getting our meal correct nor at timing or beverage refills. Victor's...what happened? Last Christmas I had a fig cream pasta that blew my mind. I loved it. It was something I wouldn't typically order. My only complaint is I went there once for a salad and it was so over priced for what I got. Dinner menu is good though. Definitely one of the better restaurant in York. read more

Our hearts are still fluttering..  not only because this is restaurant is THE perfect little diamond in the rough.  Not just because the atmosphere and decor are unlike any other spot in Central Pa.  Not just because the food was top notch, from the lamb lollipops to the Osso Buco that slid off the bone like a stick of butter on a desert stone.. not for the extensive wine menu, or for the way the his/hers dessert plate lit up our eyes like a first kiss.  No.  For us, cupid's arrow made it's descent into our hearts when the executive chef entered the dining room to greet us.  He took the time  to describe our entrees and made it a point to make us feel special. Hostess was cold, no smile, didn't feel welcomed. #2 they were out of sangria #3 tomato soup was horrible it had so much dried basil or oregano. #4 my husband pasta was cold. Chose to come for our 30th wedding anniversary, we love to try new restaurants. what an underwhelming experience. the dining area was bustling and very loud, so we were very optimistic. our waitress could not speak faster and rush us more if she tried. we were given one small roll to share... when we asked for more with our meal a small loaf appeared, but we were charged additional for that. Spag and meatballs were good, but the bolognaise was so overly seasoned with nutmeg (or something overpowering) and very liquidy that it was unedible. So first let me start out with this is the first time we've been back to Victor's from a bad experience several years ago. I say that only to make sure that if others have had the bad experience like we did, it's time to give Victor's another shot. We did and we were very happy. Gillian was our server and met us quickly when we sat down in our party of 6. She was very friendly and provided good service throughout the night. All of our requests were met with friendliness and responsiveness (like extra sauce-by the way, last time we had to offer to pay for it to get it). Also, the manager came by also to check on us. My wife had the Veal Parmesan and I had the Veal Saltimbocca. Typically, these are covered in sauce and the veal is hard to find. But, this had enough sauce on the spaghetti with the veal on top and it was very good. I've never had it like this but I prefer it this way. So, overall, we had a good evening and I rate this restaurant a 4. It was a little pricey but not too bad. Our meal for two entrées and a soda was $78. So, again not too bad. Others in our party rated this place anywhere from a 4 to a 5. For me, it was a for a good solid four. So, I recommend Victor's for a good Italian meal. read more

I'm a traveling nurse and I like to try new places wherever I go! This restaurant did not disappoint! I had chicken piccata, it was amazing! One of the best I've ever had!Service was excellent! Had a coconut-cantaloupe mojito which was refreshing and delightful, and a Summer Sangria also delicious! I ordered a small strawberry salad that was perfect! The reservation process, confirmation & assigning our requested seating all went smoothly. The Maitre d', Bar Tender & our server Savannah could not have been more attentive or accommodating. Food was not bad, but not to the high standards we have become accustomed to at this restaurant. While we all continue to adjust to post Covid pricing, the Meatball Appetizer was disappointing: $10 for one meatball that could have not tipped the scale @ 2 ounces. Perhaps 3 meatballs that size might have better represented that price. The Fish & Chips appetizer as well, left much to be desired. Really not sure what the fish might have been or the accompanying sauce. Ambience was great as it is a wonderful place to just get out & socialize. Caesar Salad is amazing! read more

I have loved Victor's since I first found it in 1990. I have come every time I found myself in York.Tonight, we chose 3 appetizers and a ceaser salad for dinner. The whipped feta and flatbread was divine. The "fish and chips" small plate was well prepared, very tasty,and attractive, but with only 5 little 1 inch cubes of fish-- not worth $14. The bruschetta was a mess. It came attractively plated, but was really a big block bottom of a ciabatta, piled with wet, diced tomato, two big 1/2 balls or fresh mozzarella, with a single basil leaf on top. Trying to cut it to eat yielded a pile of messy, mushy ciabatta , and lots of unseasoned diced tomatoes. The chef needs to go back to the original bruschetta style on sliced, crusty bread. The service was nice as usual, so thank you, Victor's staff for that! read more

I think it is good but can be better, let me tell you why. I got a reservation with OpenTable and that was extremely easy. I arrived on time and was promptly seated at my table. I began looking at the menu and saw they had some amazing options. I ended up ordering a craft cocktail and that was amazing. Prior to us ordering our entrees the server let us know what the soup and the entree of the day consisted of. We opted for both. I also ordered the (for the lack of memory) "crab pasta". We first were given the crab soup and it looked amazing HOWEVER. Upon first taste, was an immediate shock of saltiness. I thought maybe I had a one off spoon and decided that the bread would help cut it down and no. I passed it off and same reaction. I think it has to be a one-off situation because the rest of the food was delightful. The ambiance fit the menu. I would recommend this place to people looking for a more mid-upscale Italian restaurant in the York area. Just be mindful that you aren't just paying for the food, you are paying for the experience so almost entrees start in the mid $20 range .. but overall good. read more

Good morning! My husband and I finally had a free night and drove 45 minutes to have a date night. My husband ordered the $40.00 Rizzuto and I had the oysters as appetizers along with the shrimp/clam spaghetti. unfortunately, We were disappointed! my husband's meal was very creamy and oily to the point that he was not able to eat more than two spoons. When our server came around we explained this to her and she only took $10.00 off???. I get it, I used to manage restaurants but when a customer is not able to eat the food at all it should have been comp. On the way home he got sick and at about 2 am I got sick with food poisoning and still on the second date of food poisoning to the point of needing emergency liquids in me. I get it, things happened but the lack of compassion towards customers when not able to eat the food and still made them pay for it was unacceptable. read more
