    Single Fresh Blue Crab Cake
    Raquel S.

This was my favorite go to place until last night. I usually get the crab dip but the price went up to $21 for an appetizer. ouch! They aren't making their chocolate raspberry butter anymore, waitress said the price of butter is too high. I had a crab cake and was disappointed since there was barely any backfin, it was mostly claw meat. My husband had a steak and said it was average at best. It was the worst meal I have had here! I know change is inevitable but please do better!

We ordered the crab dip appetizer, a ribeye, the prime rib and a shrimp linguini that was the special.

My companion and I didn't sample the menu, but everyone around us was eating and clearly enjoying their meals and the dining spaces were FULL on an early Friday evening. To ne, that speaks volumes. For what appears to be a "divey" bar from the outside, Horn has a pretty solid list of drafts, cans, and bottles. My companion is a wine drinker but found a pinot grigio that suited her. Service was fast and friendly at the bar, and tge crowd (definitely local and regular) was also super friendly. Give Horn Pub a try! It's a.great reminder of what a good local spot can be.

However, after she brought our drinks she didn't come to check on us for over 30 minutes. She took another food table order, 10 feet from us that arrived after us. Another table that had only ordered food after we sat down received their food before we could order food. This waitress said "I have help now. She'll be right here". Our new waitress was super nice. So we ordered our wings and appetizers. By 1300, we still did not have our appetizers of pickle chips or any of our food. When we received our food, it was pretty decent, and our second waitress made our visit more pleasant but will most likely not come back.

My wife had the fish and chips. Food was good and plentiful. Service was very good, ate with some old friends, there was no rush, they gave us plenty of space. The menu is varied, specials are not typical fare, but also do not become science projects like so many "creations" do. The food is left to speak for itself. Affordable. Two small criticisms, can be loud in certain areas. They are very accommodating in moving you. The parking lot. Walking over the bridge can be an issue with cars. Worth the trip.

It sounds bold, and it is, but it works beautifully. The broth is rich and deeply savory, the cheese pull is perfect, and the crispy rings add a texture you never knew the classic was missing. The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.

We have been going to The Whip for over 10 years now…read more THE #1 reason we keep going back is the staff. All of the staff make every meal a dining experience. Ambiance of the English Pub theme was decent. Menu choices were plentiful. So Food review: Had wings for an appetizer. Asked to have them cooked crispy. They came out rubbery and undercooked - took most home. The maple lager coffee sauce was flavorless. Probably the worst wings I've ever had. Fish & chips were fair- the mushy peas were pretty good. Chopped salad was a nice size and was filled with toppings. Sticky toffee pudding was the best thing we ordered. Now for service: Server was friendly and helpful with questions we had. But the pace of the staff is like watching paint dry. I'm sorry folks - a lot of walking around looking busy but at a slow pace and the food was really slow to arrive. We waited a long time to get asked for a refill and it took forever to get our check and run our card. Overall: I wouldn't recommend the place to a friend. I think it's overrated - or else people with money have low standards for a great place to eat. The crowd seemed like classier people but they must have money and time to burn because I was not impressed enough to patronize it again. No photos as I was trying to enjoy a nice dinner out without my phone.
