We ventured here uncertain as to whether we were eating at a tourist hotspot or a local favorite. A few blocks off of Ramblas plus being one o'clock, it was hard to tell. Either way, it was our first day in Barcelona, and we wanted tapas and a place to take in our surroundings.
The service was excellent - the waitstaff friendly - and the tapas? Mmmmm. We ordered the salt cod fritters, a meat brochette (aka: meat kebab), patatas bravas (their version is salted with aioli), Spanish omelette, and tomato bread (pan el tomate). I'm writing this review a few days later and after having been to a variety of other bars/restaurants for tapas, and the potatoes bravas + Spanish omelette are the BEST we've had. With drinks and a small tip, our total came to less than 25 euros. Overall, a great introduction to Barcelona cuisine.
Note: they do have a full bar + the menu is in French, Spanish, and English. There is an on-site bathroom for customers only and you pay at the counter (like most other bars here). They do take credit cards! read more
