Visited today as it was a beautiful day and wanted some tiki and sunshine! I ordered a banana daquiri drink which was $11. It was good but came in a glass with no garnish or fruit / looked so plain and unfun. I would expect. more tiki vibe and for the price - it was kinda dull with not much liquor. My friends drink was the same. Plain and lacking much booze. Our meal was decent - total bill $50 for 2 with drinks is pretty much the going rate but presentation was lacking. The tiki vibe of the deck is great but a bit lackluster for the pricy drinks'

Our dogs enjoyed the doggie area.

Amazing selection of burgers, really good Tropical drinks, friendly service , great waterfront view with outdoor seating. We sat outside in the doggie area. Dogs are treated like kings here and have their own menu! Our furry family had a great time.

Steak sandwich

Decided to go back now they have reopened. Wait staff very friendly and service was good. Food was good, nothing above and beyond. Will try the burger next time for a baseline comparison. Had the pulled pork and the steak sandwiches The 3 star is mostly Tap beer was kinda warm ish - bottle near was fine. A little pricey too. The 2 beers , iced tea sandwiches plus tip was $60.00 Perhaps they could do a "happy hour" day. We will be back though. Love the outdoor seating

Re-Opened after water main burst! Good view and friendly service. Here for a beer and apps.

Ribs and shrimp tasty

Ok we had soft pretzels the kind you buy at grocery store. The two soups were not edible. Onion and not sure the other one but it tasted like flour. I had ribs and shrimp. Over all good the onion straws were not my favorite. My friends had the taco and chicken sandwich. Would try Ag with no soup or pretzels. Burger are supposed to be good but I was not in mood for that. Will go back and try and let you know at some point lol. Ps we tried to sit at the bar and was told we couldn't. That was strange. So we had to sit at a table.

Onion rings with 3 dipping sauces

Few things I enjoy more than a hot summer day on a boat, and docking at a more than adequate waterside joint for cocktails and snacks. Such was the case I hit Vickies Place, in McHenry, IL. McHenry is perched on the Fox River, which runs into the Chain of Lakes, on up to outside of Milwaukee, and south to the Illinois River, which rolls into the Mississippi about 25 miles north of St. Louis. I'm sure most summer days Vickies is a mad house, but in the middle of a weekday after noon when we floated up, it was relatively quiet. The menu has something for every taste. I will caution you in advance, this is one of those places you are going to get OVERSERVED in the food realm. I opted for an order of rings as a starter, which came with three different dipping sauces, very tasty, big mistake, as all of the over-sized sandwches are accompanied by BOTH fries and onion straws. Could be wrong, but had the feeling the rings weren't made in house, but the onion straws were. Both were delicious. The fries? Those extruded things, I know they are popular with a lot of people, just not my personal favorites - I like to be able to tell fries came from a potato. I went with the Black and Blue Lagoon burger, cajun seasoned hand-formed eight ounce patty, blue cheese crumbles, and blue cheese sauce - served on the most incredibly soft butter-topped roll. Dressed with lettuce and tomato, with a great pickle spear on the side. Real crunch. The patty was quality beef, and the taste came through loud and clear. Couldn't get anywhere near finishing the plate. They have entrees, sandwiches, baskets, house-made pizza, and the ubiquitous Friday night fish fry. Our server "K.C." was affable, knowledgeable, and outgoing. Attentive without hovering. She's wasting her talents there. If you find yourself boating up the Fox, or driving the back roads of northern Illinois, Vickies is worth a stop.

Great place for summer drinking by the river. They have margarita flights and a large drink menu. Food was not too bad either.

Food runners came out to our table multiple times with the wrong orders because our server kept putting down the wrong table numbers. It took us over an hour to get our food and one entree never even came out. The serve came out a few minutes later and saw only three entrees on the table and wasn't going to say anything, we had to point it out. She said she would go check on the food. Came back 10 minutes later and said it would be right out. 10 minutes later, still no food. We went in to talk to the manager and all she had to say was "if you had told us sooner we could have given you free drinks" as if we knew the food was going to take over an hour and a half. At this point our server is still dilly dallying, hanging out by the soda machine. One of her tables also waited an hour for their food and she rang in the wrong order for them and the lady took it anyway because she didn't want to be there any longer. It was busy, but there seemed to be no issues with tables in other sections getting their food in a timely manner, just her tables that had the issues. We asked to make the missing entree to go. Another 15 minutes went by before we had to hound her for our checks. I should've know the service would be bad when we first sat down and one of her tables had to get up and find her to pay their bill. Not the mention- the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting and sinks don't work. Went to the bathroom when we first got there and a table inside wasn't bussed. Went to the bathroom again right before leaving, 2 and a half hours later, the table still wasn't busses.

The spaghetti dinner I chose came with a side salad and 1000 Island dressing was the thickest I've ever seen in a long time! The portion was so large I went home with half of it. Should I be concerned that we keep getting bothered by a fly on our table? My wife ordered the taco salad and accidentally ordered extra lettuce and boy did they add lettuce! Lol. The one thing I noticed was it was missing music in the background, a jukebox or something playing would've been better! We realized we were running late for an appointment and had to run out of there otherwise we would've enjoyed the restaurant more! To no fault of their own. I look forward to seeing us there again! The reason for this is our last two visits, Judging my mother for what she ordered and gossiping with drunks at the bar loudly enough that we can hear is absurdly rude. Sorry its a slow night but maybe don't judge a vegetarian for not loving bacon and mocking them to other customers. Its just a bad showing. We come here often, so to be treated like that is heartbreaking. Now, my mom can't be certain they haven't been gossiping about her pretty simple order, a wrap with no meat, the entire time. Also just turn off the depressing news on the tv's its obnoxious when we are sitting down and just trying to have a good time. Put on a fun tv show, the game, something else.

The patio was PACKED, the weather was perfect, and the entire place had that loud, fun, everyone-is-having-a-good-time kind of energy that just screams summer in McHenry From the second the drinks came out we knew we were about to have a ridiculously good meal. We started with the mocktails and honestly??? SO refreshing. The matcha lemonade mocktail was light, citrusy, and gave the perfect little earthy matcha twist, while the piña colada mocktail tasted like summer vacation in a glass Creamy, tropical, icy perfection. We also tried their house-brewed Diablo Mexican Lager and WOWWWW -- crisp, smooth, refreshing, and honestly the perfect beer for sitting out on the patio during golden hour. Then the food came out and it was GAME OVER The chicken fries with sauce were absolutely addictive -- crispy, saucy, messy in the best possible way, and impossible to stop eating. Like every bite somehow got better than the last. And THEN came the burger Grass-fed beef cooked perfectly medium, melty cheese, crispy bacon, soft bun, juicy in every single bite... genuinely one of those burgers where everyone at the table goes silent for a second because it's THAT good. Paired with the truffle parmesan fries?? Unreal. Crispy, cheesy, truffle-y perfection that we kept stealing off each other's plates the entire meal But what honestly made the entire experience even better was our server, Tina J She was AMAZING. So friendly, attentive, fun, and genuinely made us feel taken care of the whole night. You can always tell when someone actually enjoys what they do and she completely elevated the experience for us. Great service seriously makes such a difference and she absolutely crushed it Honestly D.C. Cobb's just gets it. Huge menu, fun drinks, incredible burgers, amazing patio atmosphere, and one of those spots that feels casual but still delivers a seriously memorable meal every single time. If you're anywhere near McHenry this place NEEDS to be on your summer food list
