A must visit while in Charleston! We were told by a local this is the spot to go too and they were not wrong! The portion sizes are great (huge) for the price and they have a ton of options for biscuit pairings. They were so large we weren't able to finish the biscuits and ended up being full most of the day! Food: the seasonings on everything was perfect, they had a butter and jam bar at the front, which was amazing. We tried all of the jams, we especially liked the peach! The restaurant is set up to pay at the counter and then you get a number and put it on the table. A server brings your food out to the table (based on your number) and checks on you from time to time after that. We enjoyed this set up as it allows you not to feel rushed and enjoy the morning or afternoon. read more

Super modern atmosphere & decor - easy ordering at the counter and they will deliver your food to the table of your choice. Go up to the condiment bar for jams and butter for your hot biscuits. Although I thought the biscuits already had enough buttery taste. The cappuccino was frothy and just what I needed as an AM perk. (get your own sugar at the condiment bar as wee). The Greek yogurt bowl had just enough honey drizzle with fresh cut berries. The yogurt was not too sweet- just perfect. The food was served super fast and management strolled around to check on every table. This place is really on point. read more

This place is great! No table service. Counter service, but they bring food to the table. Very well organized and run. The food was excellent. They even have gluten free biscuits. Well worth the experience. I hate to say I highly recommend as it will just get busier, howver, I highly recommend. read more

I wish we had one of these at home! I'd work my way thru the menu!! Don't be afraid of the line. It moves faster than expected

Well worth the wait, The fat boy was a 10/10 and service was great, food and scenery. Would recommend to anyone visiting SC

Mouth watering breakfast. Huge servings and attentive friendly service. Do expect to wait in line (line was out the door when we went on a Sunday) to place your order and find your own table but well worth the wait. Michael's Bloody Mary - bacon, pickled okra, and vodka what's not to love!?! The Viscous Biscuit meal has the sweetness of the sausage maple gravy and a little spice from jalapeños and the jalapeño cheddar biscuit to bring it all together. Picture is "half eaten" though - sorry the mouth watering got to me! Casual, family friendly (kids menu), outdoor/indoor seating, tight on parking but extra parking in the back. read more

My family and I visited Vicious Biscuit while on vacation and I am SO happy I found this gem of a spot. When we arrived there was no line. They have a nice sized tent for outdoor dining and some tables inside that are spaced out nicely for socially distanced purposes. My husband ordered, "The Vicious." I ordered, "The Ranchero." And my children shared the Belgian Waffle and Bacon. My husband was blown away by his biscuit sandwich. He wouldn't stop raving about it the entire time he ate. The jalapeno biscuit, paired with the fried chicken, maple sausage gravy, and maple syrup drizzle was the perfect combination of flavors. I had a bite of it and wanted to eat the whole thing myself. Luckily, my ranchero biscuit was perfection too and the first bite just blew me away. What a heavenly biscuit I bit into. The black bean spread, the fried avocado, pico de gallo, and egg, along with the amazing biscuit was just everything I could have ever asked for. Even the kids Belgian waffle had a cinnamon flavor to it, and they adored it! My husband and I stole their bacon and we would make that same choice over and over, because again, it was crispy and delicious just like everything else they make. We voted, and we all agreed, that this was our favorite meal from our vacation in South Carolina. Vicious Biscuit is also located next to another favorite spot of mine - King Street Cookies. My stomach was very happy after this lunch trip. read more

Go here, plain and simple. Just do it. What are you waiting for? Are you scared? I'm here to say that if you live in the Charleston area and you haven't been here you are severely missing out. I came to the area on my honeymoon and even I went here twice within a week and a half. What's your excuse? No but frfr this place is no joke. I wanted every single item on the menu but I opted for The Vicious on both visits, which is not a choice for everyone. And even if you go with a plain biscuit, they have a little bar with multiple types of jams, jellies, and butters for you to slather on it. If I ever come back to the Charleston area in the future, this will definitely be on my must go-to list. And I really hope they continue to expand to other cities, especially more north into NC and VA so it's more convenient to me. read more

Our experience at the vicious biscuit was one in a million. the walk up ordering service makes the dining experience extremely efficient for the volume of people in line for these biscuits. The line is usually out the door, however the inside feels calm and happy and not chaotic. Thé hollandaise sauce and Ham was the perfect savory combination on top of a giant fluffy biscuit. Trust us, you won't want to put your fork down and you'll leave with merch by the end. Also they do free cold brew refills - level up. read more

Yummy!! The line was soooo long. We waited outside for about 30 minutes before even getting inside to wait some more. We weren't sure if it was going to be worth it but it was!!!!! The menu is posted behind the register so we had plenty of time to check it out before ordering. My boyfriend ordered The Fat Boy and I ordered The Bird and the Belgian (no biscuit for me) and bacon. I'm not a super fan of self-seating but it wasn't terrible. They offer covered outdoor seating in the middle of the parking lot. We found a spot inside--thank goodness. The food arrived relatively quickly to say it was so packed. My boyfriend loved his biscuit, especially the honey drizzle. My chicken was so tender. The sweet potato waffle was delicious!! Overall, it was a great experience! read more

Great food at a cheap price with good service. The shrimp biscuit was great. Friendly staff

I had the absolutely best waffle I've ever eaten here! Love this place! The service is terrific, as is the coffee. If we're ever back in Charleston we'll surely eat here again! read more

Located in a nondescript area of Mt. Pleasant, Viscious is one of the reasons the Charleston area is one of the foodiest cities in America. Simple surroundings, good service, but eclectic combinations that are all incredible. And, with a group of four, we hit half the menu. Strongly recommend the candied bacon as a side and, seriously, any of the biscuits on the menu. As a side meal, get the Chef's Bloody Mary. Simple food, combined into complex flavors, at great prices. Worthy of all five stars. read more

What an absolutely amazing biscuit. We were visiting from out of town and looking for a "local" place to eat that was close to the bridge that we were planning to walk. The line was out the door, but moved pretty quickly. They have a covered outside area to eat with 10 tables that were properly separated plus inside seating. We were lucky to get an outside table as it was really nice outside. Onto the food. Both of us got the Flame Thrower and didn't regret it at all. It wasn't too spicy and biscuit was cooked just right. Every bit of this biscuit was devoured. We both also got cold brew coffee and that was excellent as well. read more

Decadent and unique location. Plenty of coffee, tea, and beer options paired with interesting biscuit meals. The menu items are filling. The Sea Biscuit is an interesting biscuit filled with a Thai slaw, shrimp, and sauce on a delicious biscuit. The biscuits aren't flaky, more crumbly and there's a jam/butter bar available for smothering the floury goods. read more

This place had the best breakfast I have ever had in my life! I got the old fashioned meal with a fried egg and potatoes and of course the buttermilk biscuit. The eggs were perfectly done and they even put some chives on top. The biscuit which was the best thing I have ever had was so buttery and just the right amount of salty I wanna die! The place was also so cool and relaxing with a word search on the wall which was really cool. And the employees there were so nice and were interested in what your were getting and told you their favorite options. I absolutely love this place! read more

The food is great and I will definitely be back. I recommend the fat boy biscuit and some beignets if you've got a sweet tooth. But 3 stars because they don't take reservations and you have to go up to the counter and order. It took us 30 mins to put in an order and finding a table was a bit rough. After we put in our order and found a table it took another 30-45mins for our food to be delivered. They also forgot about our coffee. They were very busy so I completely understand. The other issue was that one bathroom was out of service so the line became quite long. read more

On our recent trip to Charleston, my sisters and I knew we HAD to stop here for their biscuits and raving reviews. The line was out the door but we knew it was worth waiting for. I tried the Sea Biscuit, and the flavor was an explosion of shrimp and Thai chili! When I tell you it left my mouth watering, I wish I was joking. It was one of a kind, and the biscuits were incredibly flavorful/soft. It was the perfect combo and I would definitely go back! I highly recommend trying this out! read more

This restaurant is a great start to your day. The staff is extremely friendly, welcoming and offer honest suggestions based on what you inquire about. The portions are hearty, you don't necessarily need to get a side but the Gravy Train is loaded up, and the Flame Thrower has an elegant presentation. Vicious Biscuit - Build Your Own Biscuit- Fried Chicken Bacon Bacon jam - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

We went to Vicious Biscuit for breakfast (of course), and it was pretty busy despite the Coronavirus scares. We called in 2 orders over the phone, but still waited around 10-15 minutes when we got to the restaurant. After our food came out, we grabbed some butters and jams and sat outside to eat. I got the Fat Boy biscuit and subbed the crispy chicken breast for a spicy chicken breast. My friend got the same thing but with normal fried chicken, and my boyfriend got the Vicious Biscuit. He liked his biscuit, but both me and my friend thought our biscuits got tiring after a while. It was a lot of the same flavoring with the salty chicken and the salty pimento cheese. Something acidic like coleslaw would've been great on the biscuit to cut through some of the savoriness. The spicy honey was a great addition. Also, my chicken patty was small and barely covered my biscuit! At one point, I was just eating mouthfuls of cheese and biscuit. The maple bourbon butter was really good though. The service takes a while but is friendly, and the food is alright. This place is better than Maple Street Biscuit, but its still not the best. read more

Great breakfast spot! Even though it's order and then go sit casual, they have plenty of staff constantly roaming and keeping things clean and checking on customers. The line can get rather long but they do their best to keep it moving quickly. We tried the sweet potato hush puppies which were amazing, the shrimp and grits, animal farm, and silence of the hams. Everything was great and everyone was pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend! read more

I had the vicious biscuit and let me tell you it was amazing. The way they cooked the biscuits had them so soft and it had a sweet taste to it as well. The cashier was great and immediately realizing i had never been there broke down the entire menu and recommendations. I would recommend getting a side if you're hungry. The biscuits are a good size but i still felt hungry after eating. read more

During all of the crazy COVID-19 we are trying to support our favorite local places! And of course we couldn't not order breakfast from vicious. It was SO easy to place our order online and it was ready in 15min! You drive up to the side of the restaurant, give them your name (or they can take your order there and you can wait) and drive around to the other side and they hand you your order. It was efficient and easy and zero touch points, so we felt safe! We took the food gone and it was still hot and perfectly packaged with all our condiments, napkins and plastic ware included! read more

As advertised!!! Best biscuit in SC and arguably anywhere. We had the Sea Biscuit, Crab Benny, and the Old School Breakfast with a side of gravy. The shrimp on the Sea Biscuit was incredible!! Large and juicy! And that yum yum sauce and slaw??!! Wowza! The crab Benny was really good, really nice fresh crab patty and the egg was perfect. The OSB was really tasty. That biscuit in its pure form was just heavenly. As for the gravy, it wasn't my favorite. Unlike biscuits which are pretty universal in their appeal, gravy is very personal, IMO. The texture was excellent and it had good flavor but I just don't like my gravy to be sweet at all and the maple sausage really kicks off a sweet flavor. To each their own, no criticism. I can't wait to get back to C-town to try more of those awesome creations....AND THOSE BISCUITS!!!! read more

I went here while I was visiting Charleston. It was pretty good but I was expecting an bit more. It was pretty packed, which didn't feel especially safe in Covid times. I liked that they made drinks in mason jars. My spicy sandwich was yummy but fell apart so easily and was difficult to eat. I appreciated that they turned their butter/syrup bar into take out friendly and they're all individually packaged. The cinnamon butter I tried was amazing! I'd still come back next time I'm in town but hopefully Covid will be in the rear view mirror. read more

What a delightful find. Start with Southern staples like biscuits and gravy, and then elevate them into iron chef level works of culinary art. And literally every single human who was working today had a strange but lovely smile on his or her face. I mean, am I in a restaurant or a cult? And the Flamethrower (pictured) was an exceptional interruption to the normal patterns of southern breakfast expectations. Bookmarking this one for sure, and will definitely be back the next time in Charleston area. read more

This was my first time at this location so my review is based partly on my 5 Star experience at the Summerville location. Food: We ordered the fried green tomatoes and the tomatoes and pimento cheese were delicious but the bacon jam at this location was just awful. It was mostly cold bacon fat. Do not recommend! I ordered the huevos rancheros and again it was a total disappointment compared to the other location. The presentation was the first disappointment then it was made worse by the 3 tiny slices of avocado on the whole biscuit. It's a major part of the item and it was next to missing. My son had the grits and they were very tasty. My husband got the Fat Boy and enjoyed it but said it was also better at the other location. We got an order of beignets and they were wonderful! Finally, the Vicious Mary was very good! Restaurant: Again, not as nice as the other locations BUT it was neat and clean. Bathrooms we're clean and stocked. Staff was friendly and helpful. The sauce bar was 1/4 the size of the other one. Easy parking. Nice location. Overall I think I would just make the trip to Summerville to get a much better experience for the same price. read more
