I can't remember the last time I was excited about my next trip to a place to eat UNTIL now! This place was fantastic. When we arrived, the line wasn't too long, after we placed our order the line was out the door. Apparently everyone else knows how delicious the food is too. There were three in our party and we all ordered something different so we could try each other's selection. Biscuits and gravy, Silence of the hams, and The Vicious. Each item was good but the Vicious was probably my favorite (with the cowboy candy on the side). We had saved the tops of two biscuits so we could try the butters and other toppings. All the butters, especially the sweet bourbon butter, were so good. 10/10 recommend this place! read more

You place your order at the counter get your number, coffee cup for drip coffee, utensils, etc. Go make your coffee, soda or whatever (foo foo coffee, fresh squeezed OJ delivered to your table) and have a seat. Food came out fairly quickly for a busy morning and while eating a young lady stopped by to see if we needed anything else. The food is the ! Second time to this location, last here a couple years ago and we knew we wanted to return. Glad we did, I'm now gluten free and not one place in the west do I know of that would have GF BISCUITS!!!! It was actually pretty good too, a little bit crunchy on the outsides but the middle was soft and yummy. I got the animal farm which came with egg white cheddar and "candied" bacon, the bacon was very good with a bit of a kick. The cheese was actually shredded and I wish spread out a bit more it was kinda clumped in the middle unfortunately. Regardless this is what I would order again, and service was fantastic and very polite. The first time we came the line was out the door, this time we came 45 minutes prior to closing and it was much more doable. Recommended. read more

We visited Vicious Biscuit on our most recent trip to Charleston, SC. I was really looking forward to trying out the famous Southern-style biscuits. The first spot we landed on was Vicious Biscuit. I was surprised by how large the biscuits were. They were sturdy enough to hold the different types of jams and butter we put on them. Every bite of the biscuit had a nice balance of crunchy and savory. Their house-made jams and butter were the ideal complement to the biscuits. One of my favorite spots in the area! I lived around the corner when it opened and have craved it ever since... I've always thought they could franchise this- but it hurts my heart that it's franchising a little- may make it less special in the future (but if you're gonna franchise please come to Seattle area)! The line can get long so come early. Atmosphere is casual- they'll give you a number after ordering at the counter and you take it to the table of your choosing. Was browsing through different restaurants to try and decided on Viscious Biscuit due to proximity to the beach we were headed to but so thankful we came here! It was very casual and you order at the register, get a number, grab your utensils, and they bring your food out when its ready. They had outdoor seating, which was great since we had the dog with us. The menu was a bit overwhelming only because there are too many things I wanted to try. However I got the traditional breakfast mainly because I couldn't decide and I wanted to try all the butter and jams at the bar. I really loved the bourbon maple butter and the peach habenero jam...a lot of people seemed to like the blueberry ghost pepper jam because that was almost always empty. Biscuit was great...golden and crunchy on outside but soft on the inside. Bacon and eggs were very good. Potatoes were seasoned well and crispy on the outside. I got the cafe macchiato and thought it had strong coffee flavor but balanced well with sweetness. Husband got the Hen solo and he really enjoyed it...it was a lot of food! My absolute favorite part of the meal is the fresh squeezed orange juice. They have a machine that squeezes oranges and it tastes just like the one I got every morning at the resort when we were in the Bahamas. This is one of those places that needs 10+ stars as an option. I cannot recommend it enough. It has to be the best biscuit to ever grace my taste buds. Seriously! "The Vicious" had a massive sized biscuit that was buttery and savory. The sausage gravy it was smothered in was good, but the piece of the chicken was nonexistent. I was served a tiny piece. $12 would've been a very good value if the size of the chicken was somewhat decent. This has been on my list to try for a while. I finally went for breakfast. They have what I'm told is a southern breakfast of shrimp and fried chicken etc but they also have eggs, bacon, ham etc on biscuits. The biscuit was good but they are a bit greasy and heavy. Great breakfast or brunch spot in Charleston! And you could tell everyone else thought so too based on how packed it was on Labor Day around 11am. The parking situation is not ideal because of the small lot, but after circling a few times, we snagged a spot. The line was out the door hit honestly moved pretty fast to order, but the real waiting began after you sat down. I loved all the different butters and jams you could pick out yourself while you waited. It was hectic in there as the workers ran around getting orders out as quick as they could! About 30-40 mins after ordering, we got our food - I tried the Sea Biscuit ($12) because it sounded kinda unique with fried shrimp, and it was delicious! And of course, the biscuit was awesome! Wish I got an extra plain one on the side to nibble on. My boyfriend had the Silence of the Hams ($10) and also really enjoyed it. Their Breakfast Potatoes ($3) were perfect too. This is a fun stop for breakfast or brunch/lunch. It was super busy, but the line moved fast and we found a place to sit without difficulty. The biscuits are huge and delicious, and I enjoyed sampling the jam and butter bar. The Babe has great pulled pork and candied bacon, although I was reminded that I don't love the SC style mustard-based BBQ sauce as much as some of the others. While in search of a good brunch spot while in Charleston, I ran across Vicious Biscuit on Yelp. The Mount Pleasant location was closest to our hotel, so we chose to go . When we arrived on a Saturday around 12 noon, the line was out the door and all the way down to the end of the parking lot. We hesitated at first since it was 100 degrees outside and figured we would be waiting for a while, but then I figured the food must be amazing if so many people were willing to wait in line outside on a day that hot. The line actually moved quickly. Seating is first come, first serve both inside and outside, but you have to order first and have a number for your table before securing a seat inside the restaurant. By the time we arrived at the counter, we narrowed down what we wanted to order. We ordered the Crab Benny, Sea Biscuit, grits, fresh fruit, The Sweet Puppies, and fresh squeezed orange juice. There is a fixins bar which has sauces and a variety of butters which we tried several and all we enjoyed.When I say everything we had was delicious, it is an understatement. I am not even a fan of biscuits, but was taken back by how flavorful both of our meals were. The Sweet Puppies were soooo good, and since they are made of sweet potatoes, I felt a tad less guilty for totally blowing my diet during our visit. To top off our five-star brunch, the service was excellent. All the staff made sure that the guests were satisfied, we were even given great advice on places to visit during our stay in Charleston. Hopefully, they will open a Vicious Biscuit in Georgia so I won't have to travel long distance to try it again. read more
