Surprisingly good. Classic biscuit was 8/10 and they have a whole mini topping bar of butters, whips, and jellies for the biscuits. For a healthy option, the Keto Bowl was a 8.5/10...not sure if the spinach was organic (a dirty dozen vegetable). Great value though. Manager Tip: Route the servers carrying food for outdoor tables through the side doors when the line is busy.
Biscuits are always delicious! I stopped by for a morning pick me up and ordered the fat boy. It is one of my favorites on the menu. The biscuit was so butter and delicious and the fried chicken was amazing and the pimento cheese in this definitely the cherry on top!
This was my 4th visit to viscous biscuit while on vacation here they are EPIC. I've tried a few different kinds now and my favorite by far is the vicious biscuit with the fried chicken on a jalapeno cheddar biscuit with candied jalapeños and sausage biscuits and gravy sauce. It's EPIC!!! I'm sure I will be back again before my vacation is over with my big back!!
Viscous bisquit has a cool logo that I coined the term #CyberChef for because I work in cyber security and we use an application called CyberChef. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. The are many options for gluten intolerance and celiac. It is a good way food a cyber security analyst to start the morning. Vicious is consistently amazing!
Food - 5 stars! Service - 5 stars! Ambiance - 5 stars! First visit. We walked in and there was decent line but moved quickly. The kid at the counter was very nice and helpful. You place your order at the counter get your number, coffee cup for drip coffee, utensils, etc. Go make your coffee, soda or whatever (foo foo coffee, fresh squeezed OJ delivered to your table) and have a seat. Food came out fairly quickly for a busy morning and while eating a young lady stopped by to see if we needed anything else. The food is the ! Biscuits are so fresh and you have so many varieties of biscuit sandwich options. They have some lighter fare options along with GF. The coolest thing is the Jam & Butter bar...all kinds of compound butters and jams to try. Will definitely try them again if we are back in the area!!
Customer service is awesome!! Didn't get her name but I loved her patience and care when I placed my order. Many ways to have a biscuit. Various options besides bacon and sausage. I'm having a build your own breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice delicious!! Grits are absolutely creamy and flavorful. The pimento cheese add a great addition to the grits. Definitely will order this again
Yum! A well oiled machine. Packed but moves quickly. Some of the most affordable food around! They have a little self serve bar full of various butters and jams. So cute! Seemed like a lot of kids working there and boy were they on top of things and super friendly! Obviously well managed. The sweet puppies are the most decadent sweet potato fritters! Generous portions.
I'll start by saying I'm giving a four because I do feel like things could've been a tad bit better in areas. We arrived for a late breakfast and it was quite crowded, but we easily found parking stood in line for a few minutes. Looking at the menu. When we got to the counter, the young lady was very helpful in explaining the different biscuits and things available and also offered up opinions on the things we were looking for. We didn't get any of the coffees or juices, but we had the vicious biscuit. We did order the beignets to share. One of the kids had pancakes and bacon and I had a simple chicken biscuit with cowboy candy, which is basically sugared cooked down jalapeños. I feel like there could've been more cowboy candy on the biscuit cause it's quite large and there wasn't much to the cowboy candy. The biscuit is going to be either you like it or it's not your type of biscuit. I will say that, even though as thick as it was, it did not have a doughy thick center that I was expecting. The ambience in the restaurant is cute. You sit down with the number they bring your food out they have a flavored butter bar and a flavored jam jelly area there with it. Our food came out fresh and hot. My granddaughter wasn't a huge fan of the maple sausage gravy biscuit, I will add when I cut it up for her. The bottom was extremely hard. I had considered having it remade. My friend got the vicious biscuit and she said she would've liked to gotten more gravy maybe on the side. The beignets were fabulous with the strawberries and whipped cream. She wasn't a huge fan of what was supposed to be scrambled eggs with cheese. All in all we would revisit and we were happy to be able to experience it while in the area.
We visited Vicious Biscuit on our most recent trip to Charleston, SC. I was really looking forward to trying out the famous Southern-style biscuits. The first spot we landed on was Vicious Biscuit. I was surprised by how large the biscuits were. They were sturdy enough to hold the different types of jams and butter we put on them. Every bite of the biscuit had a nice balance of crunchy and savory. Their house-made jams and butter were the ideal complement to the biscuits. I would definitely come here again if I visited Charleston in the future.
For a chain biscuit joint, this place is pretty good!! You order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. They have a honey/butter spread bar which is super fun and you'll find some really choices there. The biscuits are done very well and so were the potatoes, I'd order again! The sweet tea was bad, unsure if the tank needed cleaned or if it was just the taste of it here.
If you're looking for a breakfast joint... look no further! Was browsing through different restaurants to try and decided on Viscious Biscuit due to proximity to the beach we were headed to but so thankful we came here! It was very casual and you order at the register, get a number, grab your utensils, and they bring your food out when its ready. They had outdoor seating, which was great since we had the dog with us. The menu was a bit overwhelming only because there are too many things I wanted to try. However I got the traditional breakfast mainly because I couldn't decide and I wanted to try all the butter and jams at the bar. I really loved the bourbon maple butter and the peach habenero jam...a lot of people seemed to like the blueberry ghost pepper jam because that was almost always empty. Biscuit was great...golden and crunchy on outside but soft on the inside. Bacon and eggs were very good. Potatoes were seasoned well and crispy on the outside. I got the cafe macchiato and thought it had strong coffee flavor but balanced well with sweetness. Husband got the Hen solo and he really enjoyed it...it was a lot of food! My absolute favorite part of the meal is the fresh squeezed orange juice. They have a machine that squeezes oranges and it tastes just like the one I got every morning at the resort when we were in the Bahamas. Highly recommended but go early because they get really busy...even for a weekday!
Such a stellar gluten free biscuit! They actually have a whole gluten free menu that is great. Kids menu has better than average choices sure to please little gourmands. Juicy chicken, yummy gravy, creamy grits, and fresh orange juice. Great delivery option as it travels well. Also cute counter order table spot. Great to recommend to your visitors too for a taste of the south that doesn't break the bank.
My hubbie and I love fried chicken biscuit sandwiches so whenever we see it on a menu, we just have to have it! Compared to many of the ones we've tried, this one was average. The biscuit is dense and the gravy is just okay, but the chicken was fried nicely. Nothing memorable, but not a bad meal. I like how there's a jam bar. I sampled a bunch of them and they were all tasty. read more

Hi Tina, thank you for your review! We're thrilled to hear that…
So we specifically came here for the crab cake biscuit but they were out so we were able to substitute shrimp! I was very happy they allowed that. First of all there was WAYYYYYYYY to much hollandaise as you can see in the photo but aside from scraping it almost all off it was seriously the best biscuit I have ever had in my life (jalapeño cheddar) so light so fluffy just absolutely amazing! The fried green tomato was perfect as well!! Def recommended (just ask for sauce on the side :) ) read more

The food was very good. I give both entrees a 10/10. The service is a little slow, but I guess it's expected for a tourist town. Ambiance was nothing special. Clean place. read more

Hi Nate, thank you for your fantastic 5-star review! We're thrilled…
I loved my jalapeno cheddar biscuit, but I do like scones, shortbread, and drier textures. And when I say dry, it is not overcooked dry; it is a form of biscuit that we are not use to here in Charleston. Trust me, that has not stopped the lines. As someone suggested, I ordered a biscuit with no toppings, so I could get a real taste/texture feel of this style, which, as I said, I liked. I also ordered the bacon, honest to good apple wood, high in quality, with a tiny bit of heat added via the jalapenos! This place does jalapeno right. I also asked for a side of the said 'cowboy candy' and am their biggest fan. Must learn how to make this at home! The peach jam was like eating a peach pie, and the honey butter also very good. Coffee stood up to the cream which is a huge plus for me at a breakfast joint. The set up is totally a goat rope mess though and would not be my first spot to pick for a nice Saturday breakfast with friends. Too loud, too crowded, my chair got bumped so many times I almost asked my friends to pick up our table and move the whole shebang forward. It was NOT a relaxing morning. The line out the door tells you it's good food, but crazy to order, find a table, if your lucky. Then you have to traverse that line again to get coffee. Then back across the line to the table. Realize you forgot silverware, not visible while in line, as now there are two lines and the person on your left has the area blocked. Go back, get silverware, then get jam and butter in tiny little cups, and the butter is rock hard, so as you're digging you get it all over, yourself included. And judging from the hot mess that bar was, so did everyone else. Back yet again for a 2nd cup...And that line is breathing down your neck, people want a table, you feel as if you are taking too much time... Nope, not a relaxing morn out..... read more
5/5 This is a MUST when in Charleston. I have visited this city 3 times and had Vicious Biscuit 7 times. It is a life changing experience, I mean sometimes I wake up on a Tuesday and get an urge to book a ticket to Charleston just so I can have my favorite Benny Biscuit. Pro tip: line can get toooo long, may want to place online order! They do have wonderful breakfast cocktails, definitely try them out! read more

I vacation in Charleston on purpose so I can eat breakfast as Vicious Biscuit. The best orange juice, waffles and biscuits. They have their system down to a science so if you see a line just get in it cause it goes pretty fast. The staff is nice and bathrooms are clean. All after amazing breakfast spot! read more

This was a great place to get a biscuit for breakfast or brunch. We went on a weekday morning around 11 AM and were in line for about 10 minutes. We ordered a Ranchero and the Vicious. Both were great biscuits, not too dry but not too heavy either. Biscuits are about $12 a piece, but fill you up and are worth it. If you can order online to pick up, it would probably be easier on the weekend. read more

Everyone here was so friendly! The biscuits here were ridiculously huge. It was delicious and very creative. The staff here was very friendly. The food came out quickly. This place is impeccably clean. I've never been to biscuit place clean like this before. I'm glad they opened up where Boulevard Diner used to be. I'm not gonna lie to you but this place is expensive. That being said, it is well worth the money. There are plenty of parking spots. You need to be prepared to wait in a line. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who wants to enjoy a nice biscuit with an attitude. I really hope they do well. Want to try other biscuits on the menu. The grits with cheese. Dude! That's the one to write your mama about!! read more

Hi Dina, Thank you for sharing your feedback on your experience at…
The Vicious Biscuit came highly recommended from You Tubers and IG. They were 1000% right on the money. Patrons wait in line to order from a pretty fun, insightful guy running the counter. It is everything you'd want for breakfast or brunch. The food came out quick and hot. The unique combinations are so tasty and fresh. The chicken for the The Vicious was cooked to perfection! So many great things to say about this place. You have to go and try it! read more
Yum yum yum!!! What a treat! This was a heavier/richer breakfast than I am used to but man was it delicious! I LOVE that they offer a gluten free biscuit and it was delicious! I did it with ham, egg and cheese! We also ordered the sweet potato hush puppies - which were the perfect sweet treat to our savory meal. The restaurant is very popular and busy, and on weekends there is usually a line out the door, so I recommend getting there early. You order the food at the counter and then the servers bring it to your table read more

Line was little long. It took 25 minutes but it was a Saturday morning so that's understandable. I felt a little uncomfortable because there was so many tall people and I'm on the shorter side. Some random guy put his child on the wall next to my table and that made me quite uncomfortable. They were slow bc lot of ppl=busy. Now about the food. It was incredible! I got the fat boy and it was so good, especially the home-made pimento cheese. My sister did find a hair that wasn't hers in her food, but that didn't bother me. I absolutely housed my meal. read more

Gah dang this food is GOOD!! Line was out the door almost to the road and was worth the wait. It moves pretty quick to be fair. The biscuits are so filling and there is even a biscuit topping bar with all kinds of jams and butters. Indoor and outdoor seating and it's definitely worth trying. I'd recommend to locals and visitors read more

Got here just in time before 9:20 on Sunday. Actually got a parking spot and inside the door. 12 minutes later three times as long. Line moves fast....lots of employees to keep things moving. Well run. Of course the food is good and looks good too! Private parking lot with some outdoor seating. No saving tables is the policy posted. Nice atmosphere, reminds me of first watch. read more

Long wait on a weekday to order - probably 20 minutes. You're not supposed to grab a table before you order. But the wait ended up being worth it. We got the Old School Breakfast and the Fat Boy Biscuit and split both. They were both fantastic. I loved the Fat Boy pimento cheese and fried chicken. The butter and jam bar had several great options. Would definitely return. read more

Hi James, thank you for your 5-star review of Vicious Biscuit! We're…
A very cute restaurant. No trouble finding a parking spot. Line seems long but moves quickly. You order and take a number and find a seat. The place was swinging when we went. It is a little loud but it's a fun atmosphere. Very clean place with a more modern look with exposed duct work. We ordered the biscuits and gravy ( ~$7) and the old fashioned breakfast (~$9) and we absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and very generously portioned. The service was fast and had the classic southern hospitality feel. For the service, price, food, and atmosphere I wholeheartedly give it a 5 stars. Strongly recommend anyone to come here. read more

First!!! Are you serious these biscuits are HUGE!! The price is right and the biscuit are top notch then all the varieties you can get. I went simple got the biscuits and gravy. Then hit the jelly bar for all the flavors that also includes flavored butters like cinnamon, honey and I think it was sweet potato butter. No matter what you get the biscuit stands on it own you can eat it plain. Now to the gravy was a decent gravy with chunks of sausage personally I needed a little pepper to kick it up a notch.. the fresh squeezed OJ oh my.. you can not go wrong with a Viscous Biscuit.. only thing is wrong if you do not stop. read more

What attracted me to this place was that there was a line out the door. I thought surely it must be good, if there's a line of people starting to wrap around the building. While this place is good, I don't think it is line out the door good. Especially when it's 93 degrees and the humidity makes it feel over 100 (according to my phones weather app). I just know it was hot. This place is set up where you order at the counter and pay. You receive a table marker and find a seat to which an employee will bring your food in a tray. There's also a, for lack of better terms, butter bar right next to the soda fountain. There's 5 different type of butter and other sauces you can put on your biscuit. Overall the food is okay, but I'm from Georgia and I am a Chick-fil-A and Waffle House girl. I might be biased but I would be lying if I said the chicken biscuit and waffles were comparable, respectively. I would definitely only recommend you come here for the butter bar and when it is less busy. Because seating is pretty limited, especially when there is a line out the door. It is also a relatively cheap eat for this area. read more

Hi Michelle,…
Despite a 5 star review, this place isn't perfect. What is perfect is what's important, the biscuit dishes. The biscuit alone is insane. Then you add the fried chicken, gravy and jalapeño peppers and you have yourself a complete meal. And it's amazing. What isn't perfect, the sides. The grits left something to be desired and my wife said the potatoes were salty. Oh well. Still 5 stars. My wife had the fried green tomato biscuit and I think the picture speaks for itself. read more

I'd been to the Vicious Biscuit in Summerville (which was AMAZING), so I figured this one would be the same. Wrong. There were no parking spots (thankfully, I was dropped off). The menu here is different and much more limited. The line was literally out the door when I arrived, and after about 20 minutes of waiting, we ordered, then sat and waited for them to bring our food for another 15 or 20 minutes. I asked if they could recreate the order I had at the other location and the girl looked insulted and recommended I get something similar. I just wanted waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, but she told me the beignets with strawberries was similar. I ordered that, not wanting to be obnoxious, and it looked pretty enough, but I did not like the beignets at all. They were super fried and very crunchy, not soft or doughy at all. The strawberries and whipped cream were good, so was the iced coffee I ordered. I wouldnt come back to this location- I much prefer the Summerville one. read more
Best brunch in town! Been here several times and have yet to find a biscuit selection that isn't amazing. I went with the flame thrower this time and it didn't disappoint. They now have extra, covered, outside seating, which is nice. Vicious biscuit also offers a wide variety of cocktails and beer to wash down your biscuit read more

Love it! Thank you Ron!
Coming from Chicago this is heaven on earth when it comes to Biscuits! We had a party of 8 and was worried we came too late on a Saturday morning. But by noon, plenty of empty tables around for an awesome brunch. We ordered the shrimp and grits, ranchero and other items. All were delicious. I had the Southern Sunrise and my wife the Bloody Mary - both were top notch! We will be back when in town again! read more

I would give the food 5/5 stars. It was probably one of the best breakfast places I've had BUT we went early and the way it's set up to order then find a table there are people literally everywhere and they just keep taking orders. So if you have 2 hours to wait then definitely try it out! The restaurant is cute on the inside too. read more
