LET. US. COOK. FOR. YOU. 1000000/10! Came for an early Valentine's Day dinner Saturday night and were absolutely blown away by all the different dishes we got to try. If you can't decide what you want or it's your first time in, we definitely recommend the $85/pp "Let Us Cook For You" option! This was well worth the cost per person -- we got 4 appetizers, 3 entrees, and a dessert to share between 2 people. This is a marathon experience, not a sprint. Our server was also phenomenal with explaining all the dishes when they arrived to our table. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so I would definitely make reservations rather than trying to get a walk-in spot. I can't wait to come back in warmer weather to sit on the patio & try a different seasonal menu. This is definitely a great spot to keep in our rotation for celebration meals.

Okay, THIS place measured up to the hype! The ambiance is delightful, the service was impeccable, and the food was DELICIOUS! I had two cocktails, both of which were awesome. A friend and I each ordered the Happy Hour Sampler and then shared a snack of Duck Liver Mousse. ALL of it was exceptional, both in flavor and in presentation. And the GREAT part? We had room to share a dessert too! AMAAAAZING!!!

Welcoming in an extreme. Had so many service staff surrounding us, but friendly and with courtesy. No time wasted in taking our order, helping us with our choices, and bringing our order to the table. Checked in but not hovering. The decor is clean- lined and confident. Happy hour sampling was amazing and just enough along with drinks to provide a very satisfying visit.

I always love a quality piece of well prepared fish and vegetables. I'm not a vegetarian and eat almost everything but I do like when a significant portion of a meal is thoughtfully prepared fresh vegetables. Service here was impeccable and I can't wait to visit again. This a trendy spot in the city...great for date night.

An entire dining experience from start to finish. I enjoyed a three-course meal with a large group, featuring the chef's selections paired thoughtfully with wine. Every plated dish, wine pairing, cocktail, and moment shared with others felt idyllic. The heated patio on a cold winter night elevated the experience even further.

Vicia in the Central West End is where vegetables get the red carpet treatment--and you'll want to dress up to match. The interior is sleek and upscale without being stuffy, with warm wood tones, soaring windows, and a vibe that whispers "Midwest sophistication." But when the weather's on your side? Their outdoor Wine Garden is pure magic. Think twinkling lights, lush greenery, and the kind of patio that makes you linger long after your last sip. Speaking of sipping--Vicia's drinks are dangerously good. Their curated cocktails and wine pairings are crafted with the same care as the food. Whether you're into herbaceous gin blends or a bold red to match your mushroom flatbread, the bar team has your back. Now let's talk food: it's not just delicious--it's gallery-worthy. The plating is so beautiful you'll hesitate to dig in... but only for a second. Highlights from the current menu include: - Peekytoe Crab Toast with cucumber and green goddess on Calumet bread--bright, creamy, and briny in all the right ways. - Fried Pullet Egg nestled among wheat berries, spring onions, shiitake mushrooms, and wild greens--like a forest floor in spring, but edible. - King Trumpet Mushroom Wraps with romaine, pickled shishito, and tahina--vegan and vibrant. - Grilled Sourdough Flatbread topped with pork sausage, goat cheese, carrot mustard, asparagus, and garden herbs--basically a spring picnic on a crust. Happy Hour (Tuesday-Friday, 5-6pm) is where Vicia really flexes its creativity. You get access to the "Let Us Cook For You" tasting menu's First Course--an ever-changing lineup of seasonal bites that feel like chef's secrets. No reservations needed, and the specials are available throughout the restaurant, not just at the bar. Vegetable-forward doesn't mean meat-free--it means flavor-first. Vicia's approach celebrates the bounty of the Midwest with dishes that are thoughtful, balanced, and often surprising. Even the "Naked Vegetables" (served with pesto, whipped ricotta, and fresh butter) feel decadent. Whether you're popping in for a snack and a spritz or settling in for a full tasting journey, Vicia delivers elegance with a wink. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit--and leaves you plotting your return before dessert hits the table.

Vicia has been on my list forever, but I can't recall why we haven't made it in here prior. We decided it was the perfect spot for our two year wedding anniversary. The location is easy to get to with plenty of street parking. The inside is gorgeous, and for a September date, the outdoor seating was perfect. Aesthetic is super nice and is fitting for a more business casual feel or you could dress up a little nicer and still feel welcome. The service is great, they are refilling water and taking care of you all night. Our server tried to sell us on their chef's menu but there were a few things that my husband didn't like so we decided to do a la carte and had no complaints. We honestly had a little too much food and brought some home. We did not have a bite that we didn't like. Even the things my husband was iffy on, he loved (hello parmesan custard). The porkchop was cooked to perfection. The garden vegetables were flavored perfectly. The ricotta dumplings had the perfect pillowy texture. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection. I could go on about this meal forever. We will absolutely be back, and will be recommending it to everyone. It was a fantastic experience with super fresh ingredients and a menu that is top notch.

10/10 spot! Stopped in for dinner last night and was immediately sat at the bar. The ambiance here is fantastic- upscale, modern, clean. Gorgeous indoor outdoor space. Our service with Eric at the bar was stellar. The drinks, the pasta, snapper, and bread/butter were all extremely flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The bread and butter were in my top 5 I've had. Good portion sizes. Lots of home grown veggies and herbs from the garden were in the meal. No notes!! Will be back.

Everything about this meal was impeccable. Went for my birthday last night and had an incredible experience. Attentive service (they even gave me a birthday card upon arrival) and Ryan our server was amazing with giving recommendations and accommodating our parties dietary needs. Ordered a variety of cocktails and mocktails, and every single one was refreshing and delicious. Started with the cheddar rilette, focaccia and the sweet potato which were all knock your socks off good. Highly recommend the cheddar rilette, it is essentially an entire charcuterie board in one bite! Had the short rib as my main and it was melt in your mouth. Finally the sticky toffee pudding for dessert with a cinnamon ice cream, was rich and decadent. The only thing that knocks a star off my whole experience is that the restaurant was so loud I couldn't even hear my mom and grandma talking to me across our small table. I think potentially some sounding panels on the walls might help? Nothing wrong with ANYTHING about the meal or service but not being able to have a conversation with dinner knocked a star off in my book.

TL;DR -- Vicia's staff is fantastic and their food is quite good; I recommend for a nice meal, especially for happy hour. Story time -- I had made a reservation for a nice goodbye meal before my partner left STL for the summer for an internship, then he decided to dump me out of nowhere the day before the reservation. I had to cancel the reservation (don't do a late cancellation, because it's pricey as heck) and was extra upset on top of the poopy circumstances. I had been looking forward to trying Vicia for a very long time. A friend felt bad and offered to take me to dinner still, so when I called super last-minute to see if I could un-cancel the reservation, hostess Amanda did the mostest to get me back on the books. She was so kind and empathetic, all the while keeping it very professional. I won't deny that I didn't have the highest hopes for food based on other reviews, but that left me delightfully surprised! I tried the foccaccia with ricotta, chilled asparagus, albacore sashimi, miso trout, and tres leches cake. Everything was delightful, but my particular highlights are: ricotta with aleppo and honey was very solid; asparagus had perfect crunch; the albacore sashimi has probably been the best I've had in this city so far and the sauce was divine; the trout dish was perfect and the yuzu lemongrass paired with miso was phenomenal. Drinks met expectation, and their happy hour menu has great offerings. More than anything, the service made my day. A big shoutout to server Jenna, who was such a kindhearted and supportive girls' girl who still made time to talk to me while she was so busy taking care of a bunch of tables. I am so grateful for the very positive experience I had here during a really rough time. If you're looking for a genuine good time with amazing service and classy yet chill and comforting vibes, Vicia is a must.

The food is always amazing at Vicia!! This restaurant is so well run!! Everyone has their job, and they all know exactly what to do and what's expected of them, and it shows! My next visit might be a sit at the bar for dinner night!!

    Amanda D.

Went for happy hour and tried the first course tasting menu. It was a bit pricey for what it was, but the presentation was lovely. The flavors were balanced, and I enjoyed 3 out of the 5 items on the tasting menu. The cocktails were refreshing and the server was kind and helpful. Only downside was the place was totally empty and quiet, which was surprising, and not the vibe I had hoped for with a happy hour.

    Madi L.

Food meets art and presentation. Located near the CWE neighborhood, Vicia offers an intentionally crafted dining experience perfect for slowing down and celebrating special moments. I think this was my first real introduction to the meaning behind a farm-to-table seasonal menu and a curated experience based on that. I initially went a few years ago to celebrate my birthday, and a close friend--who isn't a picky eater but isn't always the most adventurous either--said it was one of the best meals of her life. As you don't really know exactly what you'll be served ahead of time, it requires a lot of trust and exploration. It's a great, fun way to try new flavors, and every bite is done exceptionally well.

Is there a patio/outdoor seating? If so, can a guest smoke?

There's definitely a patio and outdoor seating. This is a fine dining experience, so take your smoking to the lawn and don't wreck a non-smoker's dinner. There's plenty of lawn to walk around and get downwind of the service area.

I tried the Pretty in Pink cocktail, which was well-balanced and enjoyable, though the pour felt a bit light for a martini. Normally one martini gives me a slight buzz, but that wasn't the case here. Surprisingly, it still worked. I ordered the Good Burger, and it was honestly one of the most flavorful smash burgers I've ever had. I was genuinely impressed. I got the sauce on the side since it also came with the onion rings, and unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of it -- it was a bit runny and lacked flavor. The space is intimate, stylish, and perfectly appointed -- the kind of place that feels like you've stumbled into a secret little jewel box in the city. It's cozy in the best possible way, with an atmosphere that invites laughter, celebration, and maybe just a little fabulous mischief. The bartenders? Absolute pros. Warm, welcoming, and clearly masters of their craft. Naturally, I ordered my classic gin and tonic, and it was perfection in a glass -- crisp, balanced, and exactly what a proper G&T should be. I heard from the birthday boy and his wonderful wife that the owners were incredibly accommodating, and you could feel that hospitality throughout the entire evening. Everything felt effortless and welcoming -- the kind of place where people clearly care about creating a great night. And then... the party truly began. We had drag queens serving glamour and joy, music, laughter echoing through the room, and pizza delivered from the birthday boy's favorite local pizza spot that honestly deserves its own standing ovation.
