Im not exaggerating when I say this place is phenomenal. Top tier. There is so much thought behind not only each menu item but also the entire ambience and overall experience . Our server Cole was awesome! He is so knowledgeable about the menu and so friendly. We were so HAPPY with our entres (that we shared) because of his recommendation. No joke, we were blown away. The garden and patio has so much character as well. After a long week, stumbling upon this place was a dream. I wish I lived close so I could come here every day. Well done! We even told a random couple on the street on our walk back to our hotel about our experience lol.

Vicia was delightful :) it's been on my list for a while and it was nice to use our month-iversary as an excuse to check it out! Our server was extremely knowledgeable and understanding of my dietary restrictions. They recommended some awesome foods for us and we had a great time. Great ambiance and vibes all around :) truly made our special day even more memorable!

Anniversary celebration treat

This is a spot that has been on my radar for years, and I am elated to report that the experience I built up in my head was not actually high enough! Every dish we had was delightfully prepared and balanced. I love the crispy potatoes so much I debated adding another order! We did not do the tasting menu (this time) so that is something I'm looking forward to in the future. The entire staff was extremely kind and we really appreciated being congratulated on our anniversary by so many people in the restaurant. The atmosphere was refreshing in the sense that I felt like I could stay, relax, and truly enjoy my food and conversation for hours. 100/10 absolutely eat at Vicia.

Finally made it to Vicia last week after hearing great things for ages! First, the aesthetic and decor of the restaurant may be one of my favorites in St. Louis - it is absolutely gorgeous and so bright and inviting! I am sad I don't recall the servers name because he was SO helpful and kind and we loved him, as well as all of the staff who were all so friendly! We wanted to try as much as possible so we did the Let Us Cook For You. For apps, we got the focaccia, duck liver mousse, crispy potato, naked vegetables, and cured sea trout. Everything was insane. Our favorite may have been the mousse and I normally hate liver! Everything was so creative and delicious. Second course we were given the peekytoe crab rice, chicken, and sweet potato. Everything was delicious but the sweet potato really was a star - I have no idea how they made it so good! The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was perfect. We also loved all our drink, especially "Carrot" which sounds odd but was so refreshing! We loved that the chef chooses for you and gives such a thoughtful variety - I cannot wait for next time!

Lovely anniversary dinner. There was a card at the table with a sweet message inside. We ordered wine and the focaccia bread to start. The bread and butter was delicious. I was nervous about the raw naked vegetables but the pesto was TO DIE FOR! So good! We then shared the sweet potato and it was probably my favorite dish. My boyfriend who doesn't like sweet potatoes, really enjoyed it. It had these savory crunchy bits that paired well with the potato. We both ordered pasta for our entree. The mushrooms in the Gnocchetti were great, the sauce was amazing. My boyfriend loved his Campanelle. The service was wonderful. Our service and the server assistant kept our table clean and gladly helped us with the menu. The first course came quickly and everything else came out with great timing. The ambiance is upscale but still casual. The restaurant is very clean! We'll definitely return to sit on the patio when the weather is nicer. Highly Recommend!

LET. US. COOK. FOR. YOU. 1000000/10! Came for an early Valentine's Day dinner Saturday night and were absolutely blown away by all the different dishes we got to try. If you can't decide what you want or it's your first time in, we definitely recommend the $85/pp "Let Us Cook For You" option! This was well worth the cost per person -- we got 4 appetizers, 3 entrees, and a dessert to share between 2 people. This is a marathon experience, not a sprint. Our server was also phenomenal with explaining all the dishes when they arrived to our table. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so I would definitely make reservations rather than trying to get a walk-in spot. I can't wait to come back in warmer weather to sit on the patio & try a different seasonal menu. This is definitely a great spot to keep in our rotation for celebration meals.

An entire dining experience from start to finish. I enjoyed a three-course meal with a large group, featuring the chef's selections paired thoughtfully with wine. Every plated dish, wine pairing, cocktail, and moment shared with others felt idyllic. The heated patio on a cold winter night elevated the experience even further.

My team came to the city for our annual company retreat. We ate here on night 2 and really enjoyed everything! The ambiance, the service, the food. We had the chef's tasting menu. All of the food was fresh and delicious. See pictures for our first course.

Okay, THIS place measured up to the hype! The ambiance is delightful, the service was impeccable, and the food was DELICIOUS! I had two cocktails, both of which were awesome. A friend and I each ordered the Happy Hour Sampler and then shared a snack of Duck Liver Mousse. ALL of it was exceptional, both in flavor and in presentation. And the GREAT part? We had room to share a dessert too! AMAAAAZING!!!

We entertained family here one recent midweek evening. Parking was a little difficult yo come by, but there are spaces behind the restaurant. We were greeted and welcomed as soon as we arrived. The space is open, airy and full of natural light. Helped by the lightly painted walls for sure. Scored a lovely table by the preparation space. It was conducive to low conversation. Our server, Ryan made good recommendations. Wines offered were really interesting. My Prosecco was delicious! The Parmesan prosciutto Gpugéres appetizer was so flavorful! We enjoyed the crispy potato and the duck liver mousse selections with our party as well. I recommend the Little Gem Salad with the beautifully textured grilled pistachio. It had the perfect amount of Green Goddess dressing too. It was a splendid meal, and we can't wait to return.

Vicia has been on my list forever, but I can't recall why we haven't made it in here prior. We decided it was the perfect spot for our two year wedding anniversary. The location is easy to get to with plenty of street parking. The inside is gorgeous, and for a September date, the outdoor seating was perfect. Aesthetic is super nice and is fitting for a more business casual feel or you could dress up a little nicer and still feel welcome. The service is great, they are refilling water and taking care of you all night. Our server tried to sell us on their chef's menu but there were a few things that my husband didn't like so we decided to do a la carte and had no complaints. We honestly had a little too much food and brought some home. We did not have a bite that we didn't like. Even the things my husband was iffy on, he loved (hello parmesan custard). The porkchop was cooked to perfection. The garden vegetables were flavored perfectly. The ricotta dumplings had the perfect pillowy texture. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection. I could go on about this meal forever. We will absolutely be back, and will be recommending it to everyone. It was a fantastic experience with super fresh ingredients and a menu that is top notch.

Welcoming in an extreme. Had so many service staff surrounding us, but friendly and with courtesy. No time wasted in taking our order, helping us with our choices, and bringing our order to the table. Checked in but not hovering. The decor is clean- lined and confident. Happy hour sampling was amazing and just enough along with drinks to provide a very satisfying visit.

10/10 spot! Stopped in for dinner last night and was immediately sat at the bar. The ambiance here is fantastic- upscale, modern, clean. Gorgeous indoor outdoor space. Our service with Eric at the bar was stellar. The drinks, the pasta, snapper, and bread/butter were all extremely flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The bread and butter were in my top 5 I've had. Good portion sizes. Lots of home grown veggies and herbs from the garden were in the meal. No notes!! Will be back.

Ask the Community - Vicia

Is there a patio/outdoor seating? If so, can a guest smoke?

There's definitely a patio and outdoor seating. This is a fine dining experience, so take your smoking to the lawn and don't wreck a non-smoker's dinner. There's plenty of lawn to walk around and get downwind of the service area.

I've passed this entrance plenty of times, and had no idea what was there. Walk in, knock three times, there may or may not have been a password. Take the long winding hallway to the heavy steal door. Behind the door is a lovely cocktail lounge. We did make reservations to ensure we had a comfortable table to accommodate our group. Cozy couches and plump club chairs huddled around small tables made for an intimate experience. The drink menu is long!!! Not in the mood for cocktails? They offer bourbon and whiskey tastings. We tried several of the cocktails. The drinks were well balanced and delicious. We appreciated the use of the proper ice based on the drink. The attention to detail is top notch. Cocktails and socializing can leave me feeling a little peckish. NOTA has a small but nice offering of small plates. There were six of us so we ordered several things to share. My favorite was the focaccia bread and the tiny cherry peppers. This was an enjoyable experience. We plan on visiting again soon.

After looking at a handful of menus on the street, we de died on Good Company. Service was great. Very attentive. They immediately asked if we had any dietary issues and then promptly after hearing out needs, made a handful of recommendations. We started with the cauliflower. It was excellent the light sauce and pine nuts really made this dish top notch. The vegetarian and GF adults then split the Caesar salad and the squash seasonal salad. Both were so flavorful, filling and entirely unique. If you're a salad eater, I'd highly recommend either one of these. The carnivore in our group ordered the Italian beef with French fries. Unfortunately they were out of the Italian beef so he had to settle on the wings. The wings were a solid lunch after an appetizer, but the sauce was not what was expected. Overall, the menu is simple, maybe 15 items in total and they probably need to have more for carnivores who are looking for something other than a hamburger and not too heavy for lunch. But for the other 2 in our group, we walked out super satisfied.

There were a few people in the dining area and a person at the bar. Our host welcomed us and asked if we had a reservation, we did not. He led us to a table and indicated our server would be with us shortly. We reviewed the menu and reading about them and their philosophy, the menu, the drink options and so forth. One of the staff behind the bar came and took our order. I stuck with water and we ordered chicken wings to share, I also got the Cucumber Tomato Salad for my meal, it sounded so fresh! Chicken wings came out fairly quick; delivered by the host who seated us. They were really good. The skin was crisp and the buffalo sauce a good flavor. We both enjoyed them. They came with a Green Goddess dressing, I am not a fan of that dressing, but the wings were good on their own. My salad came out and it was as refreshing as it sounded! It was the half salad, and it was a generous portion. Cornichon, Oven-Roasted Tomato, Crispy Shallot, Chopped Egg, and Dill Buttermilk dressing. It was perfectly dressed, and great proportions on the ingredients. My daughter ordered the Patty Melt advertised on Union Loafers bread and that clinched it for her. She indicated it was very good. The food was delivered by someone other than our server. After our food was delivered no one came back to check on us and we waited quite a while before we could get someone's attention to bring boxes and our check. While we were waiting the employees were setting up for dinner service, adding mini aperitif style glasses and then a couple came in for an early dinner and their server was so awesome, he came over and chatted with them offering samples of some kind of alcohol, he was so friendly! If we had been a little later and had him for a server, it would have changed our whole experience! We both commented that on our way out after we had eventually got settled up

One of the biggest perks of Hidden Gems is their back room, which allows them to host events and fun pop-up experiences. I've been to a few, and most recently attended the "Taylor Swift: Bejeweled" experience. The space was decked out in all things Taylor, with every era clearly represented. Giant friendship bracelets hung from the ceilings and lined the walls, which was such a fun touch. And of course, there were plenty of photo ops with my close personal bff, Taylor herself! The drink menu was themed to match the eras, with tons of creative options. My friends and I tried several cocktails, along with a few NA options as well. I really appreciate that they offer non-alcoholic drinks as I've been cutting back on alcohol over the past few months, and it's nice to still have fun choices that actually taste good! The Mirrorball was easily my favorite drink of the night. It tasted just like an orange creamsicle and was served in a disco ball...so good and so fun. My last drink of the night was "So Long London," which was almost like a dessert in a glass. Highly recommend ending your night with that one!

The restaurant itself is quite small and is located on the other side of Yellow Belly. The entrance has minimal space that looks to be able to accommodate 4 or 6 people if you're waiting for a table. We were seated right by the entrance with a curtain separating the area. True to its name, a Tiger statue sits at the entrance which is decorated in tropical manner. The theme continues within the restaurant. Lazy Tiger has a happy hour which if I remember correctly, ended at 6:30. Their cocktails are $12 during happy hour (rather than $14) and they have a selection of snack type items which you could have as appetizers if you'd like. We both got a cocktail. My husband had the human costume (gin, amaro, blanc vermouth, melon, gnartruese, malic acid) and I had the humble brag (gin, rhum, salted banana, forbidden rice, coconut, lemon). Both were refreshing and different but in a good and surprising way. We started with the nachos from the happy hour menu and added some pork belly per our writer's recommendation. I love pork belly anything anyway. The nacho was a huge serving! And it was very tasty with a good amount of crispy pork belly peppered throughout. I had the Morrocan spiced halibut served with couscous, asparagus, Spanish chorizo, tomatoes, pistachio dukkah. Halibut was well seasoned and prepared perfectly. We also shared an order of the vegetable fried rice and added some spam because I am a sucker for spam fried rice. It came with some chili crisps which brought the dish to another level. My husband had the tamales which he thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't get to try some but it looked fantastic. We ended up taking home the rest of my meal and the rest of the fried rice which have been devoured over the weekend. Service was fantastic. I love the vibe, I love the food!

She arrived a minute before me and chose to sit outside. Their patio is more spacious than I thought and we both sat comfortably without issue. Most of the menu is appetizer and cocktail driven while offering a few entrees. To drink, I started with the An Elephant Never Forgets. I've recently started exploring the idea of pistachio cream in my drinks and so far, all of them have been hits. This was no exception as it was bursting with every flavor that they listed. Even though it was gin based, it wasn't overpowering and all the flavors complemented each other so well. The next drink I chose was the Daquiri and that missed the mark. I'm used to them being sweet and subtle but this one was rough and not well mixed. It was so strong and tasted like straight lemon vodka. I decided to try the Sangria just to get the taste out of my mouth and ordered grilled chicken as my entree. The sangria was a hit and that hint of cinnamon was exactly what I needed. As for the entree, it was ok but slightly underwhelming. The sauce tasted more like curry but unfortunately, there wasn't enough to go around. There was more chicken than there was rice and sauce and once I ran out, I was over it. I got in a few bites but was still a bit hungry and decided to get the chocolate Tahini brownie. This was the star of the night! The salted caramel sauce was the best I've ever had and was the perfect accompaniment to the brownie. Our server was excellent, and the people who kept coming by to refill our waters were really on top of it. Overall, we both had a great time and would def return.
