Last week my sweet 14-year-old foster fail Buddy was screaming in the middle of the night when I tried to pick him up and so I took him to VEG on North Ave. They were quick to try to assess what was going on. Although they suggested I leave him there to do a full ultrasound, they understood that I wanted to take him home first to see if he would improve and supplied me with different medications that could potentially achieve that based on the initial diagnosis. I could not bear the thought of leaving him in a cage and in hindsight underestimated the severity of the situation. So, I took him home where he initially ate, drank, watched birds but became very withdrawn within a couple hours. I had reached out to his current and retired vet and later administered the pain medication I had been prescribed. As he became very drowsy from the medication (as expected) and both vets reached out and suggested I take him to the hospital, I brought him back to VEG. I was very thankful that no one at VEG made me feel bad about returning and that I had not left Buddy there in the morning. They immediately did what they could to stabilize him and I really liked how they interacted with him. It was gut wrenching to leave him there in a cage (he was a rescue from a horrific animal hoarder situation 2 years earlier, had made a remarkable recovery and I had hoped to never have to leave him anywhere in a cage again) but I felt he was in very good hands and I was glad that I could leave him with his familiar blanket. I got a call very early the next morning with an update and more updates throughout the day and was welcome to visit him in the morning. Sadly, things turned from bad to worse and I could join him for his last big examination in the afternoon and then be with him for the 3.5 hours it took to get the results. I especially appreciated the time Dr. Boiskin took to talk to me before and after the exam about Buddy, my wishes for him and explaining to me in great detail, her observations and concerns and she made me feel very much understood. VEG had also gone to great length to ensure that Buddy's pain was managed, which had become very challenging. When it became clear that there was no hope for him, I was offered a private room and told that I could spend as much time with my sweet boy as I wanted before he was gently put to sleep. VEG's administrative staff was also very accommodating, professional and sensitive to handling all administrative matters beforehand so that once Buddy was dead, I did not have to hand over a credit card, which I greatly appreciated. I could call a friend to come and support me and say my goodbye in a quiet room and determine the timeline and have all the support that I wanted or needed. VEG's vets and staff really did all they could to support me and especially my sweet boy and I am really thankful for what they did and for helping me relieve Buddy from immense pain and to let him go very peacefully in my arms. read more

I cannot recommend VEG more!!! We had a scary moment with my pug at 9pm last night. We quickly took an Uber there for the first time and called them on the way. Within a minute of calling they texted to confirm him. When we walked in the clinic, they rushed to the back room to a table. Quickly 4 techs started to treat him while the vet talked to us. They treated him amazing and calmed us so much. When it came to paying they originally gave an estimate with a high and a low. When we picked up our dog, the total was actually less than the low. Overall I'm impressed by the professionalism and kindness. Seriously the individuals who work there are saints. read more

Brought my cat in for a Urinary Obstruction for the first time and was quoted around $1500 after I expressed concern for my inability to pay almost $10,000 (the original quoted price) for the unblockage. Somehow magically they brought the price down after debating whether to put my cat down. Great. Came back again, 1 month later, different Vet, Dr. McSweeney, I believe, did not go through any treatment plans, any prices, did the unblockage and I had to pay almost $5000 for everything. Asked 5 times if there was any way he can bring the price down said he would but he never did. Had pet insurance this time so I paid it hoping my claim would be approved and i would be reimbursed (I did NOT get reimbursed i highly recommend you steer away from Lemonade pet insurance). $6000 spent in the last 2 months. I wonder why people are so discouraged sending their pets to the Emergency Vet. Negatives aside, vet techs were amazing and treated my cat with care and compassion. updated me often on his condition while he was hospitalized overnight. the pricing just sucks. read more

This hospital and the staff working there are absolutely great. I had to take my cat there two times within three weeks due to allergic reaction that led to liver inflammation and then straining to urinate as a result of the stress from all vet visits we had to do. We were admitted immediately, my cat was well taken cared of. His bladder was scanned to check for blockages. They sent us home with anti anxiety medicine to help my dear Oliver relax from the stress he underwent within such a short period of time. Oliver now feels great and he is back to normal as his liver results came back to normal levels. I want to give special thanks to Dr. Schanks and Dr. Harbaugh who took care of Ollie and of course the vet technicians who took care of us with so much of care. In addition, I am so happy that we have this hospital in the neighborhood within walk distance from my home and I was able to quickly take my cat there. read more

Don't believe the positive reviews. This clinic was a NIGHTMARE. I wouldn't wish this place, and the experience I had this past May with them treating my pug, on my worst enemy. Here's the truth: - The design of the clinic is shockingly bad. No private exam rooms, just a giant room with a bunch of exam tables next to each other, plus a bunch of cages surrounding you with seriously ill animals staring at you. Look, no one wants to watch other animals having procedures done on them, or even to just have sick animals in cages inches away from you. That's why every other vets office has private rooms, and the sick animals are kept behind the scenes where the doctors/staff are. - VEG has clearly trained their staff, especially the doctors, to push unnecessary services to drive up the bill of every patient. It was so bad, I'm surprised they didn't suggest testing my senior neutered male dog for pregnancy just to try and add money to the bill. I wish I was only making a joke here. They were suggesting THOUSANDS of dollars worth of tests that had nothing to do with his symptoms, and didn't match his past medical history. Do the doctors get extra commission based on what they get the patients to agree to? - The prices for their services are shockingly inflated. I'm usually the biggest defender when it comes to this stuff, but it's just completely unnecessary here. The exact same medicines you get at your regular vet are at least THREE TO FOUR TIMES more expensive here. The same exact tests your regular vet does are at least TWO TO THREE TIMES more expensive here, and still take the same amount of time to get the results back. I get that it's an emergency clinic, and I get why things like the exams are more expensive, but at a certain point you're just unfairly marking things up to take advantage of people. - Most importantly, the vet assigned to us (Dr. Chandler Todd) has absolutely no business practicing veterinary medicine. She had the worst bedside manner I've ever seen in any kind of doctor, it was borderline heartless at times, and she showed zero indication she cared at all about my dog. She was completely uninterested in his past medical history, which was incredibly important since he was in the process of being treated for a urinary tract infection at that moment, and just downright didn't listen to us. When it became clear there was something more serious going on than a UTI, and her recommendation was to hospitalize our dog for 48 hours to the tune of over $7,000+ down, she became downright cruel. When we turned down hospitalization, mainly because we didn't trust leaving our dog in their care for days, she suggested we were taking home our dog to die. In a last ditch effort to get us to agree to hospitalization, she even went as far as to offer to euthanize him, which he was nowhere near that stage yet. It was mortifying, and completely unacceptable. She basically got us so upset we were sobbing with our dog in the waiting room, walked away when we didn't agree to her recommendation, and then refused to answer any other questions after that. No one should ever have to go through this kind of treatment ever. Period. So, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. You'll thank me later. There are plenty of other options for emergency care in the area, all of which I'm certain will treat you and your animals FAR better. read more

Last night on Thanksgiving, we had to put our beautiful boy down. He was the light of our lives and our first baby. he was going to be my partners best man. The VEG took incredible care of us, they made the process easier and Chloe was just the sweetest angel. They gave us time with him, allowed us to make paw prints and we fed him turkey and donuts. TLDR; VEG employees are amazing (both front and back staff), it was affordable, wait time is reasonable, check in effortless, and waiting room was plenty clean. This review is long overdue and will be LONG, but it's about time that I took a moment to really thank VEG and their staff. I've used VEG twice in the last 7 months or so for my pittie mix who is dog reactive. The first visit Cinni ate a metric shi*t ton of dark chocolate when my as*h*le cat decided to knock it off the high up counter in an attempt to murder his sister. I fortunately knew exactly how much she ate, it was new in package, and panicked I called VEG, crying. The front desk staff calmed me down, reassured me that having a pup reactive pup was okay, they would separate her if needed, and when I got there they took us straight back to give her the "puke everything up" meds. The vet was busy, I wasn't upset, there was sooo many pets there getting emergency treatment. The techs were also running around, but all of them would speak when they walked by and when it was time I was amazed when a tech put on her gloves, held an aluminum brownie pan, and comforted my pup while she projectile vomited for what seemed to be several minutes. The staff text me the check in link so I could fill it out while I was in the back with my pup. The second time we came my pup was attacked by a couple off leash pups on a walk. She was pretty beat up with some gnarly gashes on her check, neck, and ear. I called on the way there and the front staff was ready when I arrived, grabbing the door for me so I could carry her through, taking me back, and the techs were ready with some pain meds. Once she was smiling and feeling good, the staff set us up in the waiting room with some blankets while the vet handled the emergencies that came before Cinni. The staff constantly checked on us, offering us water, coffee, snacks and checking in on the pup. When I needed to use the restroom they sat with Cinni for me. I cannot praise the front end staff, there was some pretty sick pups in the waiting room and every time a mess was made, they were there to sanitize and clean. They were supportive to people going through very difficult times, patient with people who were not happy with wait times, it has to be so stressful, but they smiled and were very genuine. Once the vet was ready for Cinni, she thoroughly checked her out. Once they realized that Cinni wouldn't need to be completely put under for wound cleaning the vet and vet tech quickly and efficiently took care of my pup. I would also like to mention that this was in the middle of a shift change and the vet made sure to finish Cinni up as well as other patients before clocking out. The tech sat with Cinni and when she wasn't able to sit up completely (HELLO METHADONE) an additional tech quickly came over to help. Everyone was so respectful and asked if they could approach, Cinni is a people lover so she was soaking up the attention, and once again she was receiving all the passing pets from the workers. We were out in about 4 hours (honestly not bad for how busy they were) and price point it was not as expensive as I thought it would be. A+ staff here and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I brought a very sick dog into this emergency facility that I was caring for as a foster parent. Because Veterinary Emergency Group could not contact the animal shelter at the time that I brought the dog in they turned me and the sick dog away. They said that I wasnt the owner and could not treat the dog. I told them I would pay whatever the cost was to treat the dog but they said no. I ended up taking the pup to Medvet on California Ave. and they found that she had bloat and treated her immediately. She almost died and Veterinary Emergency Group turned us away because of some bureaucratic rule that has nothing to do with compassion for animals. Please do not bring a sick animal here if you have any other options. They are only concerned about their financial and legal welfare. They have no concern about your sick animal. read more

My cat needed foreign object surgery and I can't imagine better care than VEG. They were upfront about cost and risk. They were compassionate and gentle (both with my cat and my panicked self). My cat had to spend 3 days and 3 nights there and they let me come and go as I pleased to visit her. My cat's cage was huge - so big I got into it with her on and off when I visited her. Every single person was fantastic and loving and communicative. My cat and I feel so lucky and loved. Thank you for the life saving surgery and care, VEG! read more

Nobody WANTS to go to the emergency vet, obviously. But I seem to have a habit of adopting mutts who love to push the limits of modern veterinary medicine, so I've had the luck to experience all three of the big 24/7 emergency animal hospitals in Chicago (MedVet, Premier, and the VEG Lincoln Park location). The other two are fine, but this one is by far the best. The staff and doctors are kind, patient, and helpful. They allow you to go to the back with your pet in order to triage as soon as you arrive, unlike other places where the animal is typically taken to the back without you. During my time there this evening, every pet being cared for had their owner or owners with them basically the entire time. This appeared to help the pets stay calm in stressful situations, and as an owner I can attest to how much better I felt getting to stay with my sick pup throughout the process. Despite a nationwide shortage of veterinary care providers, and despite it being 1AM on a Saturday morning (Friday night?), and despite the fact that my dog was there for eating something I should have definitely not permitted her to get into, Dr. Belshe and every other staff member I interacted with the entire time showed nothing but the upmost empathy and love towards both myself and Trish (my dog). If you're Yelping pet emergency rooms, you're probably pretty stressed out right now. Pick this one. Call in advance if you want - they can help you decide if you need to go in if you're trying to determine what constitutes an emergency. Only thing: be prepared to pay a hefty bill. VEG's prices do seem to be the same or better than the competition, however. And they provide you with an estimate before proceeding with treatments, so you're aware of all of your options. There are also things like CareCredit which can help (available at most vet practices and hospitals). read more

VEG is the absolute best. Our 1.5 year old Labradoodle jumped off a 3 story building when were visiting family in Chicago. They got him in right away, were attentive and supportive throughout. Just got home with my dog that had a very severe allergic reaction. Without the expertise and compassion of Dr. Kruzova and the rest of the team, I may have lost my pup. She explained every step of the process and presented all of the options in a way I could understand and gave me time to process when needed. Everyone at the office was so kind to both me and my dog. What an amazing clinic and amazing people that work there! We got there at about 10:15am on a Sunday because our dog was showing signs of an anal gland abscess. They took us back, checked to make sure she wasn't critical, then we took a seat and waited for our turn. Many people had been waiting since at least 7am, so we knew we were in for a wait which we had expected on a Sunday. While we were there 2 critical patients came in so obviously we got pushed back. We got in to see a doctor at 3 and it was such a great experience. They were all incredibly kind and loving to our dog, and it is an open space so we got to stay with her. I love their whole approach to caring for your dog. Even though it was a long wait it was 100% worth it, and such a blessing they were open on a Sunday! read more

If I could leave a million stars, I would. We rushed to ER early morning with our dog who stopped walking and showed signs of major physical pain. Upon arrival, we were rushed to a table without question and the attending ER Dr, Dr Cox, was able to determine we needed to get to a hospital right away. Before doing so, the team worked swiftly to get her stabilized with IV pain meds and fluids. Dr Cox is not only knowledgeable and caring, she displayed such dedication to getting us in and out and lined with a neurologist at MedVet within minutes. It was a very emotional experience as you are getting scary information in real time, but the care and compassion from the ENTIRE team is incredible. I wish all human hospitals had this level of fast response and support!! I am so thankful for everyone there, especially Darryl Elliot and Dr Cox. Darryl was so kind and calm during the process, giving me and my husband the play by play and assuring us she was now comfortable and ready for transport. Other members of staff could see how visibly shaken we were, and offered tissues and support. I firmly believe our Lulu is home with us today, being discharged from hospital with spinal cord inflammation, because of how FAST and Serious VEG took this situation. Seriously can't imagine a worse experience. It started out fine, Dr. Cohen and the technicians truly seemed caring. Then one doctor said to another who had just walked up "You in the mood for this?" And then my experience took an entirely different turn. That doctor (Megan someone) proceeded to tell me my vet was wrong because she wasn't board certified, had my dog have an ultrasound which confirmed her opinion, and kept changing her explanation of why my vet was wrong. $2000 and 16 hours later..my dog is in worse shape, and when I called in, I got a new batch of finger pointing and defensiveness. The first doctor I talked to said they would never charge me $2000 for an ultrasound. When I said she should look at what I was charged, she cut me off mid sentence and put me on hold. Got transferred two more times, and the other doctor said I must not trust them so I should go elsewhere without any explanation of what could be happening. Asking to talk to the medical director I met with in the first place got me more transfers, more defensiveness, more contradictions, and more false claims that they wanted to help my dog (but no actual help). I get wanting to try somewhere fresh and new, but just don't do it. Really don't do it. read more

I called the night before and asked the receptionist if your office treated turtles and was confidently told yes. I came in the next day and I was placed in a room immediately. I then waited 2 hours for a doctor to even speak to me and the first thing she says to me is "I'm going to be completely honest, I know nothing about turtles" she then picked my turtle up for 2 min and said she needed to contact another reptile specialist for advise. I then waited 2 more hours for them to get a response from a reptile vet they had messaged all to tell me they couldn't diagnose him since they didn't have the proper equipment to test him. I was then charged $200 for a pet exam that was inconclusive and took 4 hours of me just sitting around as the staff joked with eachother and ate snacks. I also overheard the vet tech tell her coworkers how she told me she knew nothing about treating turtles and they laughed. read more

Went there with injured cat. Let them know we are in poverty. They quoted us for services and said that there were services on the quote they could reduce by $60 to provide a more affordable alternative treatment we could do ourselves from home. We agreed. But when they ran our credit card, the charges were even higher than the original quote, and we were charged for additional services we didn't receive! I called back right after we left after seeing the charge on my bank statement. I asked to speak with management. They said none were there. I asked who I can contact and when regarding the issues. I was told that they cannot give me any time that managers are there or who their names are due to past incidents where upset customers charged the facility. I guess because they have a deep history of scamming and robbing customers. They took my number and said someone will call me one day but can't guarantee any timeline of when. It has been 2 weeks and no call back! Do not bring your pets here it is a scam! read more

I had such a great experience both times I visited VEG with my cat Jordy. Dr. Kruzova and all of the technicians made me feel so much better in a stressful situation. They also treated Jordy with care and comforted him throughout the whole visit. I felt like Dr Kruzova was honest in her recommendations and helped me find the best solutions while also respecting my budget concerns. Kelsey was my first point of contact, and I will say, she's the reason why I made the decision to bring Fingal to VEG. She was patient, reassuring, gentle, and knowledgeable on the phone with me. In person, she was no different - a truly lovely Soul, that one. Florence was Fingal's first assistant, and was so sweet, as well. Everyone was, but I only know a few names! Petrice, Fingal's doctor was amazing. She really took the time to sit with me, literally, and break down every detail of his condition, treatment, and diagnosis. Brought my dog in out of an abundance of caution after ingesting some questionable food. I called ahead & spoke with the vet. She took her time with me & explained how I probably shouldn't induce vomiting at home. When I got there shortly after the call, they were slammed. But the staff is super efficient, professional & genuinely care about the animals. I was only in there for about 15 minutes max. Cannot recommend enough. Probably would've been less had I filled out the brief preregistration link she texted me. Farther away than the Vet ER I use by U of I but going to go here in the future. read more

Better than any pet emergency room I've gone to. The fact that they bring you in immediately to check vitals and walk you through the whole process in invaluable. I brought my new kitten here after she was experiencing conjunctivitis. it was labor day so this was the only place open. i knew it would be a really long wait, but after a shorter time than expected they brought me back to give a diagnosis and a treatment plan. it ended up being a minor issue so they saw me quickly instead of making me wait behind the much longer appointments, which is an awesome practice that gave me peace of mind while minimizing my time spent. They were very quick to get my cat seen for a UTI. I will say it is very pricey (I paid over $600 by the end of everything) BUT, I signed up for pet insurance the next day in case this situation occurs again. Everyone who works there is pleasant and addressed all my concerns. Luckily I went in at a time where they weren't very busy but I do know the wait times can become hours long. I was in and out in maybe 2-3 hours, but that was also because we had to wait for test results and a doctor to be available. read more

This was my first time at an emergency vet and I had a great experience as far as any event like this can go. My feline baby Ash was just diagnosed with asthma and was having very labored breathing at home. I called my vet and they told me to go to VEG. I was extremely scared because nothing has ever happened like this to him before and, out of all the great reviews, there's always the few bad ones that make you second guess your decision. But I called a head to let them know what his situation was and told me about parking ahead of time and they would take him immediately. When I got there, they instantly took him back into triage and got his vitals. The veterinarian put him in an O2 chamber and gave him albuterol. Meanwhile, it's shift change and there are tons of other animals coming in and already being taken care of; I was shocked at how everything was operating. The open floor plan is GENIUS. I was worried they would take him and back I wouldn't know what was going on but I got to stay with him the whole time. I did have to wait a bit because there were other animals that were in worse shape than Ash but I didn't mind. After about 30-45 min in the oxygen chamber his breathing became more normal and they kept monitoring him for another hour-ish. The veterinarian who took care of him was extremely nice and gave me a prescription, and the techs were also amazing. I will definitely be back if there is ever another need. I can't say enough good things about this group. I brought my dogs after I suspected they ate something they shouldn't have. The team was SO kind and empathetic- I was emotional under stress, and they took control of the situation while also treating my dog and myself with kindness. Shoutout to Shane, who was awesome with my more reactive dog and helped her find stillness and comfort in a moment of high stress. Longest day ever. Horrific communication from the staff. Me and my wife called at 9 am since we were very worried, and we were told we could bring in our dog right away, since he had bloody diarrhea. We arrived there around 11 am, and were told to have a seat. The day started poorly when the front desk girl with long pink hair snapped at a patron to put her mask over her nose. I kid you not, 2 mins later she takes off her mask to have lunch and drink a pop, as she chatted with her co worker next to her. As the day dragged on for hours we watched numerous cats and dogs show up AFTER us and get taken to see a doctor before us. I asked what was going on, and the receptionist with red hair snapped at me "that all these animals were just getting the initial weight in." This was a lie, and many pets were getting to see a doctor for their visit. And, If you look in the back, you'll see big groups of staff members, hanging out and chatting while you stare at the wall for the entire day. Bring a book! At about 4 pm, (this would have absolutely been later if didn't ask why every other pet was ahead of us,) a short male doctor with longer hair came and looked over our dog for 2 mins, and literally ran away mid sentence to help another dog in the back. After I kept asking the receptionist if someone could finish our visit, he finally came back around 4:30, finished with us, and said we we're all set. Now, after another 10 mins I asked the front desk girl with pink hair again what was going on and I was ready to check out with my bill, and was told to have a seat and wait for it. Another 20 mins went past, and I let the receptionist know that I needed to go after being there for almost hours, and had to let my other dog out, and asked if she would like to send me the bill. The doctor came back out, gave me attitude, and told me I needed to wait even longer and be patient for my bill. It was the never-ending day from hell, and my dog was completely drained. He doesn't like being at the vet for 10 seconds, let alone 6 hours. They absolutely need to remove the name "emergency" from the title. We had been unhappy with our visits to Banfield in Petsmart, but in comparison they were way better, Which is very sad. Go elsewhere! read more

My dog snapped her dew claw around 7 PM on a Friday. We were told by the staff that they were busier than usual and we'd have to wait 6 hours. I'm four months pregnant and my dog has attachment anxiety, so I'd be sitting there for at least 6 hours. They suggested we loosely wrap her paw and, if our vet didn't have availability, to come back in the morning to be seen because the injury needed vet intervention. With an alarm set for 7 AM, we called and let them know we were on the way in. Dana, the front desk worker, said they weren't busy at all and to come in. We got there within 15 minutes and there were two dogs ahead of us. 3 hours passed and every other pet was taken back and treated, but we continued to sit and wait. I kept asking for an update and getting a "your next unless something critical comes in". I peeked my head through the doorway multiple times to find all staff members, without any dogs at their tables, just chatting and on their phones throughout my 3 hour visit. When they took 2 other dogs ahead of us, again, we left. I politely refrained from sharing my feedback in front of the other owners, and called Dana to let her know we left and how frustrated we were. She apologized for "my anger" and when I told her that her staff needs better communication between shifts and to treat patients better, she said she didn't even know why we were there and alluded that it wasn't her problem. Odd statement since she did our intake. UPDATE: Thursday, my primary vet reached out asking about the Visit Summary VEG sent. The document alleges that Dr. Shanks saw my dog for "mild lip fold dermatitis" and the treatment plan was to wash it regularly. This is completely untrue and didn't happen. So they either created a false claim to still bill us when they did nothing, or they got the wrong dogs visit summary on their paperwork. This place is trash. They give a strong first impression but it's a bait and switch. Go to a trusted facility that's not going to waste your time and money. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would :( I called in advance to let them know I was bringing my dog in after he ate an entire box of cereal and was bloated/nauseous. We get in, the tech checks his weight, temp and heart rate. We get put into a room and not once we're we checked in on. After two hours I called the front to ask for a time estimate and was simply told "unsure". I asked if the tech let the doctor know what my dogs complaints were, I was then out on hold and told I was going to have to wait a min of an hour and maybe even longer. No X-rays, bloodwork, nothing was done while we waited so i took my dog's condition into consideration and left to go to another practice. When I let the front desk know I was leaving, the guy hung up on me. Not a single "sorry for your wait" or "sorry we couldn't help you", "hope your dog is feeling better" or a "best a luck". If my dogs situation wasn't critical, at least let me know so I can go home and someone else can use your space and resources. If your pet means the world to you like mine does to me, please go to premier or medvet. I'm in disbelief I had this experience. read more

What could improve? Having doctors who have good bedside manner and don't try to diagnose your cat with lymphoma or kidney failure with no evidence when they literally just had gas. Tried to keep her overnight and possibly do surgery on her AND tried to undermine the radiologist's opinion. When we tried to leave three people came in the room to play on our emotions and tell us she would decline significantly at home. Well, she's home and doing great (they did nothing to help that). While she was in the x ray room they kept the door open the whole time (a significant health risk for visitors). I overheard them talking about my cat and passing her around the staff so people could hold her because she was "so cute" ... she HATES being held and was stressed and in pain, I can't imagine how inhumane a staff has to be to toss around a cat like a rag doll when she's in pain. Not to mention the "doctor" made an appointment for our cat without our consent for an $800 ultrasound 30 miles away..... when we could get it done at our regular DVM for $200.... Shame on you and don't bother trying to contact me about my experience. If you want to "improve," shut down. read more

Im always weary of going to 24 hr emergency vets but this place is amazing. Went there at 9pm and all of the staff knew my dogs name when I got there, kinda awesome. Was immediately taken back to the exam room which is a wide open area with doctors and nurses right there, very relaxed. The staff was incredible and Dr Cox was able to see my dog right away. So nice to know this place is here. read more

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! We waited 5 hours but the hospitality was ON POINT !!! Receptionist was named josh , he was INCREDIBLE they offered snacks and made sure we were doing good . Nurse Mel was so gentle with my cat helped us with everything reassured us everything was good with our fur baby . Best care in the city!!!! They took us in right away !!! I was looking to have a bandage put on my cat to prevent her from licking a growth on her stomach. The growth is benign but she has licked it to the point it bleeds. My vet was unavailable so I was referred here. I checked in and they told me it would be 3-5 hours to see a vet. I told them that was longer than I was willing to wait for a bandage. I was then told it might be sooner and they took me to an exam room. A tech came in and I explained the situation and they took my cat's vitals. They had a second person look at her gums. I was told a vet would be following. After an hour and 1/2 wait I went to the reception desk and was told it would be 2-3 hours. I reminded them that I initially told them I could not wait that long. I can not say enough about this emergency animal clinic. Our second visit here and I continued to be blown away by the way they operate, interact with pet owners and pets. The staff is young and so lovely and authentic. It is 180 degrees different than vet or animal hospital I have ever encountered. Again I can't say enough - but I will say this - if you have a pet that needs help - VEG is where you need to go. Just amazing read more

My puppy and I are frequent visitors to VEG (three times last month...child, please). Every time we've been in they've been absolutely wonderful and have taken excellent care of her. She had to stay overnight most recently, and they kept in constant communication with me until it was time to bring her home, which I greatly appreciated. Be sure to bring a phone or a gaming device if your pet isn't in critical condition - they try to see everyone ASAP, but if a bunch of critical cases come in, they can only do what they can do.
