Love this vet! Reasonably priced and very compassionate. Since there's only one vet it can be difficult to get an immediate appointment but he's worth the wait. The office is very clean and the techs are knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend them. read more

In a sea of overpriced and appearance oriented vet practices, this is the one of the very few that is the opposite: practical, reasonable and unassuming. Dr. Andy is caring, knowledgeable and great with both pets and pet owners. He has a calm demeanor and is always engaged. He is patient and makes you and your pet feel that you are in good hands. Because you are. Highly recommended. I've been going to him for about 12 years (2nd dog). read more

They love our Animals and treat them so care full....I've been going for 15 years wouldn't go anywhere else....

Dr. Jaworowski is amazing Anna is a great nurse. He is kind, knowledgeable, very good at explaining things, simply best doctor I have met. My kitty had very bad teeth and previous doctors told us most likely her teeth would have to be removed. We were lucky to find Dr. Jaworowski and had cleaned her teeth and she was able to keep all her teeth. She recovered quickly and is happier than ever, we all are. Amazing place. Also the prices are very reasonable. read more

Best vet in the city! I have been going to Dr. Andy for over ten years. My cat is 18 years old and going strong! read more

I am writing this review on his secretary (daughter) who runs the office. Dr. Andy himself deserves 5 stars +. I have been going to Dr. Andy for over 15years (since he took over the existing practice), he is the best vet in Chicago. He is the kindest and caring vet and goes out of his way to make sure your beloved pet. His daughter Anna on the other hand is the complete opposite. If you read some of the reviews on her, everyone is correct. She is cold, angry, not willing to help you, doesn't answer the phone. In fact, the past 15 years I dread to call the office because of the way she handles my calls. To go further, recently when I picked up medicine for my daughters dog and I questioned how she was to take it, she told me "SHUT UP AND JUST GIVE HER THE MEDICINE!!!!!!!". The other day my little Yorkie was throwing up blood, It was about 2:30PM. The B*TCH told me they were swamped and was no way to see him. If you have ever gone to Dr. Andy's and seen a busy waiting room? Well I haven't. She then told me to take my baby to an ER. In the past. Dr. Andy always fit me in when I had an emergency, well not this time. It is sad that after 15 years, I have to find a new Vet. I am tired of being afraid to call the office and take her abuse. P.S. She doesn't even deserve 1 star! read more

I really love this place. Dr.Andy is really great with my dogs. I've referred a few friends to this place they love it as well.

After our appointment today, I felt compelled to leave a review. Dr. Andy was prompt, knowledgeable, very friendly, and my dog loved him! Dr. Andy also explained everything well prior to taking him back for his exam and shots. We felt well taken care of! read more

My family and I have been going to this clinic for almost 14-15 years. Dr. Andy is absolutely amazing, he is super informative, very thorough in his work and kind to our dogs. We have two pitbulls and my family dog prior to these was a pitbull as well and he's been a great doctor to all of them. His colleagues are also a pleasure when we visit. One of our dogs had a tail injury and he took her in immediately, took great care of her and she is healing nicely. The clinic is very clean and there's parking in back. Such an amazing team at this clinic and I am super appreciative for all they do! read more

Wow...talk about rude. I called 3x got hung up the first 2. Finally got a lady on the 3rd was very rude. If you are looking to go there for the first time don't bother she said they don't take new patients. read more

I have been going to this clinic since my dog was 3 months. He is almost 8 now. The doctors and staff are amazing, very caring and treat each animal with so much love like it would be their own. I would never change his vet :-) read more

I stopped going here for a bit because of convenience. Boy that was a huge mistake. We spent so much money on tests and more tests for our dog with no communication and no results. 5 minutes in with Dr. Andy and we had answers, a plan, and 1/10th of the bill. Never changing vets again. read more

If you're looking for a fancy, high-end veterinarian clinic that's going to give you a serene atmosphere with pretty aesthetics then don't go here. Your dog does not care anyways. Dr. Andy is wonderful. We've been taking our poodles here for almost 14 years. Dr. Andy is old school and doesn't waste time or our money on unnecessary tests, shots or weird treatments. He is there for the animals; not us. Our two poodles have been going to him for yearly visits ($300 for both dogs exams, shots and 1 antibiotic). Today our 11 year old poodle went to see him for an emergency. He did local anesthesia, X-rays, blood work and gave us two prescriptions for $400. He also reassured us that he was going to run x-rays by a colleague just to make sure he wasn't missing anything and to get a second set of eyes. Very humble yet thorough. The staff is also wonderful from the moment you walk in the door. They are great about answering phones or returning calls. If you don't find street parking, they have a lot behind their building. Again, the building itself is just a structure but inside is a wonderful place for animals. read more

after the surgery no communication no check up not even phone call back. I pay $900 and I can't even ask Dr. any questions receptionist is upset or hang up on the phone. I moved to another state I can't have any release of information or x-ray or anything never thought that I will live ever that review that after five months trying to have any answer .. Came in to put my baby to sleep. Doctor Andy was very kind n gentle with me n my baby. Will b bringing my other cats here now for check ups.

We've been going here for a long time, for our first and now our second dog. Everyone here is so kind and compassionate, and provides truly loving care. Our first dog lived to a very old age, due in large part to the efforts made and treatment she received by Dr. Andy. So of course we would bring our second baby here as well. And she's thriving. Highly recommend. read more

This review is based solely on the customer service I received after calling and asking for an appointment for a new puppy. I am not sure who answered the phone but she was not friendly or accommodating. She was very short with me, told me it would be 3-4 weeks before I could get an appointment and hung-up before I could ask her another question. We will be pursuing our veterinary care elsewhere. read more

We were recommended CPC by Pal's Place, where we adopted Watson (a beagle-coonhound). We've been visiting these guys for over 4 years now, and I couldn't be happier. I wish I could give them more stars - they're just the absolute best. They've proven time and again to be the most reliable and caring vet I've ever worked with. They've dealt with several issues with Watson now, each time being considerate of his anxiety (he clearly had a bad time at his original home) while also being considerate of our wallet... They won't up-sell you on things you don't need, and they show a genuine care and compassion for the animals they work with. Having had so many bad experiences with other vets in Chicago, I'm so pleased to have found one I completely trust. read more

I am particular when choosing care for my dog. This is why I am incredibly happy that I chose to follow the advice of fellow Yelpers and paid a visit to Dr.Andy at the Chicago Pet Clinic. WHAT I LOOK FOR IN A VETERINARIAN (and why Dr.Andy is a wonderful veterinarian in my book): 1. They are kind- to both the human and the pet: Dr.Andy knows that I am having a difficult time adjusting to the reality that my best furry friend is getting older. I've teared up several times in his office, even when nothing is wrong. He has been gentle and kind, and each time we walk in the door he is sure to hug and love my senior furbaby and asks her softly "getting older is just no fun." He reassures me that she is in perfect health, but gently reminds me that she is getting older and there will be issues that arise which are inevitable. 2. They ask alot of questions: How much exercise does your dog get? How much food does she receive? Any new bumps? How long has she had trouble breathing? A veterinarian is truly a detetective, and should do a bit of background research before diving in to solve the problem. Dr.Andy does this. 3. They run tests systematically: One by one, Dr.Andy runs tests to narrow down the possibilities of illness or discomfort. He always starts with the cheapest, but most logical route and goes from there. 4. They educate: Dr.Andy explains everything. I mean everything. Down to the undigested food in the stomach that shows up on the x-ray. He does this by using medical terminology AND layman's terms, which I appreciate. I need to know the science behind what is happening, and appreciate what I call the "k-mart version" to close any gaps in my comprehension. I leave with a complete understanding of my dog's current health. 5. The do not overmedicate: I've been to some veterinarians who, although they are friendly and clearly love animals, simply prescribe antibiotics when in doubt. Dr.Andy truly will work to find the root of the problem and fix it. He also advises against certain medicines and treatments. He knows I will pay pretty much anything to help my dog in times of need, and he clearly has not taken advantage of that. Instead of prescribing new medicine, he has actually reminded me of medicine I bought two visits ago and asks if I have any left. I am incredibly happy that I found Chicago Pet Clinic. I am quite sure that I will never find a veterinarian who is as compassionate and fair as Dr.Andy. read more

After my last horrible vet experience, I knew I'd have to find a new one but I was rushed into it by my dog losing his urinary continence and passing blood :( I used Yelp and found Dr. Andy and made an emergency appointment. We showed up early and were seen quickly. The office is small, only the one doctor and I saw only two other people. Let me just get to the point....He is one of the best vets I've ever been to! Dr. Andy is an immigrant and it can be a little tough to understand him, though I made everything out ok when I paid attention. He took his time to calm our fears, explain what he thought was happening (and why) -- he even drew a picture of our dog's anatomy for us. You can really tell he loves animals/pets. My dog ended up LOVING him. There is no BS with Dr. Andy- he tells you what he's doing, why and how much it will cost, upfront. He is mindful of keeping costs low while still giving my pet the best care. Best of all--he's affordable. Exam fee is only $30. Even with several blood tests, a shot of vitamin K & 5 Rx's we were out of there for $200. I do have to say...he said he'd call me the day after the visit with the blood test results and when it was 4pm and I'd not heard anything I called. The receptionist was nice but said the results were in and she couldn't read them, Dr. Andy would call me. They close at 7. I called a few more times up until 7:15 and gave up when no one answered each time. Finally, about 8:30 Dr. Andy called me. I was beside myself waiting for the results and would have appreciated a little more communication- even just that he would call after hours or something. Still doesn't deter me from going back and referring everyone- he's great! read more

I'm sorry to say we've had to leave Dr. Andy and have found a new vet. My dog was experiencing some behavioral problems due to his traumatic past before we rescued him. Concerned and looking for advice, and perhaps a recommendation for a training service, I brought this up to the vet. His response was rather disconcerting. He told me I wasn't yelling at the dog enough. He said if I yelled louder ("from your throat!") and more often, that should fix our problems. This was obviously not what I was expecting to hear, and having now worked with a trainer and a vet more experienced with behavioral issues (in our case, which are very severe), I know what my gut told me - this is very, very poor advice. In every other respect to our visits, we were always very happy with Dr Andy. read more

Dr. Andy and Dr. Mark (Marc?) are two incredibly compassionate, sweet animal caregivers. When I adopt felines, I adopt adults with illnesses and use herbal and alternative therapies while making certain everything is under control through regular veterinary visits and blood-work. For the 5 years I lived in Chicago, I drove out of my way from Wicker Park to take my babies to Chicago Pet Clinic. Dr. Andy's fees are absolutely reasonable, if not the best in Chicago. --------------------- I left a North Avenue veterinary clinic after realizing they had little knowledge nor advocated alternative animal therapies. Additionally one of the Vets at that North Avenue clinic - which shall remain unnamed - brow beat me over immunizations for my late, beloved feline Snuggs, a strictly indoor, only child meow. -------------------- Dr. Andy was open minded regarding my educated use of herbal adjunct therapies and was always honest, practical, and collaborative when addressing alternative treatments for my late Lady Snuggs (diabetic) and healthy boy Sawtooth (FIV+). I will miss this practice and hope to find a new clinic with their level of love and commitment to animal healthcare. read more

The best vet I've ever been to. Dr. Andy was very polite and knowledgeable. I took my 2 yo yorkie who was looking tired and hadn't pooped in almost 2 days. She was acting unusual and had me very worried. I spent hours online looking for a vet. I saw the reviews for Chicago Pet Clinic and decided to give them a try. The office is pretty clean but smells. The examination room was very clean. Dr. Andy asked me lots of questions about my dog and her daily routine. He was very friendly and extremely gentle with my dog. I found out my dog was having a reaction to the new formula of dog food. We've been giving her the same food for months and didn't notice that the company had made changes to the food. He gave her 3 shots and some meds to take at home. Everything came out to $90! It was definitely a lot less than I expected. Dr. Andy found it funny that I found him through Yelp. I highly recommend Dr. Andy and Chicago Pet Clinic. read more

They took care of my polydactyl kitty extremely well! He had a nail that had started digging into his paw. Turns out there was infection in the area of that nail, and the doctors even discovered 2 extra nails! They didn't push any unnecessary procedures or medicines. They gave him an injection of medicine which lasts for 4 weeks, so I didn't need to give him anything. Another plus is that the total expenses was extremely reasonable and I know I would have been charged twice that amount if I went to VCA again -_- read more

Chicago Pet Clinic - Veterinarians Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Didn't even go. Simply called. My dogs vet is out of town and he needs urgent care. Not to the point of paying $2000 at a ER but a simple vet exam will probably help the issue and the ruthless B*tch I spoke too on the phone said nope sorry were full before I could even finishing ASKING my damn question with concern. I read so many reviews with people stating how quick simple and easy it is to book an appointment for urgent needs yet I couldn't all of a sudden? Hope this pathetic front desk girl reads this. No need to be so rude and blunt and semi pleased that you couldn't book me. read more

Affordable, straightforward, and great care. I took my cat in for a badly needed dental exam on Monday morning and they were able to keep him to perform the dental procedure the same day. 24 hours later my cat was back in my home, behaving totally normal, and his teeth are all taken care of. Dr. Andy answered all my questions clearly, including questions about cost, and the staff was very nice and even helped me carry my cat to my car since I had a broken foot. I only had to wait a few minutes each time I came in. I'm so pleased! For reference, the procedure cost $600 less than what a vet across town quoted to me after an exam for the same services. Yet, I felt the communication and quality of care was better than what I have experienced at my previous vet. read more

I bring all four of my pets here! The vets are very friendly and everything is reasonably priced.

So gentle and friendly with my dog! Kudos for that alone because he is CRAZY at the vet. I guess they've seen it all though. I appreciate the Vet taking the time to discuss his history with me and showing a genuine interest in my little beast. My dog will never ever love going to the vet but it's great that they know how to work with him to ease his stress. Easy appointment making, friendly staff and it's clean! And the best part...they didn't try to sell me a bunch of new products. Thanks! read more

I'm reading all these fantastic reviews but it would be great if they answered the phone. Called 10 times, no answer. Ridiculous.

I brought my little rescued (stray) dachshund in for a checkup and followed up with a spay and a deep clean on her teeth. I love this place! I think Dr. Andy loves and cares about my little Trudi as much as I do! He is very gentle and nice to my dog and is very thorough in his exams. He also explains everything he is doing and answers all questions. When I dropped her off for her spay everything was explained and she was handled very gently. When I picked her up she wasn't even stressed out! I grew up on a large farm with a lot of animals, everything from horses to peacocks, and I have dealt with dozens of vets. Dr Andy is at the top of my list! He is a very genuine veterinarian with a heart who cares for his patients and understands their caregivers. read more

Dr. Andy is amazing! He's incredibly warm, gentle and affectionate, and his love for animals is very evident. His exams are thorough and thoughtful. He always takes the time to explain what he's doing and why and to answer any questions I have. I never feel rushed or ignored. And yes, his accent is thick, but pay close attention and not only will you understand him -- you'll also find that he's got a great sense of humor (referring to testicles as diamonds, so good!). The office itself is clean, brightly colored and very well kept. It has a warm and inviting feel. The services are totally affordable, especially for the quality of care your pet will receive. The front desk receptionist isn't the friendliest, but hey, you can't have it all. Although the office isn't anywhere near my neighborhood, the long drive is well worth the love and care Dr. Andy gives my little guy. Cannot recommend highly enough! Dr. Andy and Chicago Pet Clinic deserve every single high mark they've gotten. read more

I thought it would be helpful to add 2 more reasons I have made Dr Andy my vet. Please read my review on Mayfair animal Hospital which explains where they failed and Dr Andy gained my approval and again my review on Roscoe Village Animal Hospital. Ive tried just about every vet in Chicago. Dr Andy is by far the best I have found in my 18 years of pet guardianship. read more

Being in the medical profession, I feel like one of the true tests of someone who knows their stuff and is good at their job is being able to explain it and have others understand. Not only did our dog totally warm up to the vet and the vet warm up to the dog immediately, he made two nearly first time pet owners feel very relaxed. We had a lot of questions and he took his time explaining and looking over our dog. We were nervous about the care that the dog received prior to us getting him, and he explained the vaccine process with charts, etc, that really helped put us at ease. Besides the amazing care, is the ease at which you can schedule and AFFORD the treatment. We recently got him neutered and the costs and experience went very smoothly. This is a clinic full of skilled vets and staff, is affordable, and easy to get appointments. read more

This is my second year here. The vet is very nice, he cares. I like the most that you can stay with your dog during the procedure (annual shot and blood test). Took both of my cats here last year. Very clean and inviting. Dr Andy was very sweet with both of my cats and very gentle. Both of my cats had very strange things going on and Dr Andy took a lot of time to explain the best he was able. He discussed the pros and cons of treatments and also the costs. He also discussed the best course of action and what was the best for my babies. Dr Andy is probably one of the best vets I have met. read more

Dr. Andy is the best. He is straightforward, compassionate and sweet. He has been conservative and highly successful in treating my cats for their various ailments over the years. I can't recommend Dr. Marek Dygas more highly. My cat had been limping for a week and also needed her anal sacs (sorry eww) "expressed". She obviously hates going to the vet, but it needed to be done. Money is pretty tight, so I was worried about walking out with a huge bill for x-rays, etc, like I always end up with at other vets. My cat is also overweight and most vets are really condescending and judgmental about it, making me feel worse than I already do and acting like I'm lying when I say I monitor her diet (which I do, obsessively). We were so lucky to get Dr. Dygas. He was kind, good-natured, and caring. He handled my cat gently and spoke to in reassuring tones. It was obvious that he genuinely cares about animals and the emotional stress a vet visit can cause. Even though some of the things he had to do were uncomfortable for her, Coupon was obviously really comfortable with him and it made me feel so much better. He mentioned that she needs to lose some weight but didn't catastophise it and wasn't condescending. I explained that we had a new diet that seems to be working, and he was supportive. He didn't recommend x-rays because the limp didn't seem bad and everything felt normal, and especially because it would cause her unnecessary stress. Most vets I've had just want to run every test they can possibly charge for. Lastly, this is just a personal thing, but my cat HATES her carrier. I once had a vet basically accuse me of being abusive because she flipped out so bad when it was time to go back in, "Most cats want to get back in their carrier to get home... that's really concerning that she's so reluctant." Dr. Dygas just laughed good-naturedly to her, "You don't like your carrier very much, do you?" and helped me get her back in. Just 100% positive experience after 10 years of not feeling great with veterinarians. Lastly- the bill was insanely reasonable. $40 visit and $27 for the "expression". (The only thing that jumped it up a bit were some antibiotics I requested for her bum because I'm paranoid, but even after an injection & a topical medication for home, the total was only $140). We're moving a bit further away soon, and appointment slots can fill up quickly, but this is totally our vet from now on. read more
