A screenshot of an email displaying an invoice from GoodVets, a veterinary clinic located in Chicago, IL. The email includes contact information such as email, phone, and website. The invoice details various veterinary services, quantities, and costs, with the company's logo and address visible in the background.

Had always felt it was overpriced, but it was convenient and walkable so I accepted. Until I got a quote for dental cleaning that seemed way too high and priced around. West Loop Vet should be ashamed. Anyone going here should line their invoices up against other vets in the area. Some of the prices of vaccines alone are more than double. For a Bordatella vaccine, they're charging more for a 6 month vaccine than other vets do for the full year version. Luckily, there's a new vet opening in West Loop this year. And even if there wasn't, you can hire a limo service to drive your pet to another vet and still come out ahead. I only priced these out against one other vet. It took no effort to save hundreds of dollars a year on routine recurring services. Every time I was there I felt pressured to run more tests and take more charges. They use your pets to guilt you into spending unnecessarily. Do yourself a favor and shop around before returning to West Loop

Cannot say enough good things about West Loop Vet - I've been taking my puppy (Cassian) here since the first day I got him and they sent me home was a cute "puppy starter" kit. They made his early appointments to the vet stress free and Cassian looked forward to all his vaccine appointments. Now he literally tries to bolt into the doors when we walk past the clinic. All the staff are super sweet and caring with my pup and I can tell they truly care about their furry patients! After each appointment they always send a follow up email to make sure Cassian is feeling okay and has no allergic reactions etc. I also think it's very considerate that they have separate entrances for cat and dog owners so neither stress each other out - just thoughtful planning to minimize any stress related to the vet visit!

A dog is lying on a cushioned chair on a balcony, facing inward but looking toward the camera. The balcony has a metal railing, and there is a small round table with a glass of water next to the dog. The scene is illuminated by sunlight, with a building and trees visible beyond the balcony. Curtains frame the doorway, and a doormat is on the floor inside.

Whatever you can do do not bring your animal to this place , they are only interested in making money . My dog is out of her prescription food that she is been on with them for years. She is out of food and they won't let her have any until of course you pay their ridiculous prices to come in for a check up. It's a genetic skin allergy , that doesn't clear up the only reason they would want an apt is to make more money off you . Here's the kicker it takes forever to get in and you can't even go In you have to sit in your car and zoom in. Staff is typically snobby as well . Please save yourself the time and energy and go somewhere else that actually cares about the animals , Shame on this facility for not even giving her enough food for a week until she can be seen . Even a human would be given enough to get by until they can see a doc , this place is just unbelievable. This is why Chicago shelters are over flowing with vets like this only caring about profits . Shame shame on this place Doesn't allow for me to reply to the rubber stamp feedback below , respectfully if you cared about animals you would allow for enough food to get by until the visit and your receptionist would have a shred of compassion ! As I said above even human doctors will make accommodations until you can be seen. I truly hope people head my warning and do not take there animals here , this place cares about one thing and that is squeezing as much money out of the local community as possible . ***UPDATE*** I found a vet that cares about animals and was able to get food for my dog , so encouraging to know there is vets out that there still care about the actual animals and not just about revenue. Looking forward to transferring all my records out of this place asap. Cant imagine going to a vet that has a policy of letting a dog starve. So very sad :(

A veterinary staff member wearing blue scrubs, a face mask, and gloves kneels on a tiled floor next to a happy, seated dog with a red leash. The background features a plain wall with an electrical outlet, indicating an indoor veterinary clinic environment.

They are way overpriced. They charge $100 just to take your dog's blood pressure. I'll be changing vets.

DO NOT GO. We have been going to good vets for 2 years. After Dr.Beauchamp left we really only…read morecontinued to go because of convenience and it's a huge regret. My dog was neutered 1 week ago. Since then he has had complication after complication. 1st a bad reaction to a prescribed medication causing him to diarrhea blood for days- when we went in to address his diarrhea and dehydration there was an attempt to sell me on a fecal test for Giardia when this was CLEARLY a reaction to the medication. Then the Dr "FORGOT" to give him fluids for dehydration and sold me 3 cans of food to take home to help him. Luckily, I looked into the ingredients of the food further and realized that it contained chicken which he is allergic to. No comment at this appointment on the state of his incision. 2- Luckily because I am a nurse myself I continuously assessed his incision site and noticed that there was a severe hematoma starting to look black. I immediately called the vet to let them know that the tissue was beginning to look necrotic and he was an increased pain. They requested a photo- I sent the photo for an opinion and they NEVER RESPONDED.. 3-We went to the emergency vet they said that the incision looked extremely abnormal and that we should follow up with our vet bc he will likely need a second surgery. 4- We go back to the vet because I followed up 2 DAYS after the picture was sent and Dr asks if I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A QUOTE FOR A LASER to try to bring back life to the dying tissue. Due to my pushback, they did the laser for free. I still walked out paying $85 for more pain medication because it is now required since he's having ongoing pain due to this complication. The doctor then stated that if the tissue does not get better, he will definitely need another surgery which I am sure they are thrilled to charge me for. Not only is this place an extreme money grab, half of the staff is rude and the bedside manner is CRAZY. I brought my dog in because he was clearly in pain and one of the vet techs was grabbing his cheeks, smooshing his face around aggressively saying how cute he is when he's VISIBLY uncomfortable. I'M SO THANKFUL THAT WE DECIDED TO GO WITH A RECOMMENDATION FOR HIS NOSE AND PALATE SURGERY BECAUSE I'M CONFIDENT THAT IF WE HAD SEEN A RANDOM SURGEON AT THIS LOCATION , WE WOULD'VE HAD WAY WORSE COMPLICATIONS OR ACCORDING TO OTHER REVIEWS MAY HAVE LOST OUR DOG. Save your money and go somewhere that isn't private equity and actually cares about their patients not just $$$$$!

They Watched Me Cry, Knew I Was Struggling, and Still Tried to Trap Me…read moreRating: 1/5 Stars Review: I am a 60-year-old woman and a lifelong animal lover who has spent my life rescuing and caring for cats. I recently worked incredibly hard to rebuild my life and my credit, finally qualifying for a $1,000 CareCredit card to ensure my cats, Red and Ollie, had the medical care they deserved. I came to GoodVets Polaris because I was completely fooled by their advertisements of being "affordable," "transparent," and "budget-friendly." I feel utterly humiliated, belittled, and financially violated. I was honest and vulnerable with the staff from the moment I walked in. I told them at least four times that I was struggling financially. I actually started crying in the office because I was so devastated to learn my cat, Red, has stomatitis; I felt like such a failure for not getting him in sooner because of his pain. Instead of showing an ounce of empathy or offering a referral to a low-cost clinic, they handed me a $300 bill for two shots and an exam. A single rabies vaccine was $84--a 500% markup over the $15-$20 charged by actual community vets in Columbus. The true cruelty, however, was the "treatment plan" they handed a sobbing woman: $2,735.51 for Red's dental surgery. I balled my eyes out all the way home, apologizing to Red and promising him I would do anything in my power to find the money so he wouldn't suffer. I felt defeated and hopeless. It wasn't until I got home and did my own research that I found the truth: The Columbus Humane Essential Care Center provides this exact surgery for a flat rate of $300. If they were actually "Good Vets," they would have seen a woman in tears and said, "We are a boutique clinic and might be outside your budget, but please call the Humane Society." Instead, they stayed silent and tried to drain every penny of the credit line I worked so hard to earn. They don't care about the animals, and they certainly don't care about the people. They are a predatory corporate machine. Shame on you for watching me cry and choosing a 500% markup over a simple referral.
