We have 3 senior cats. On good Friday the female was showing end of life behavior. Our primary vet was not available. Contacted a few other nonemergency vet options and was not able to get through but reached out to VEG Saturday afternoon. Very helpful on the first phone call, technician was compassionate and put me through to the an Dr on staff and we discussed options. Was sent an easy link to fill out ahead of coming and when we finally did come through the door, the staff was professional, compassionate and understanding. Options were provided at every step with no judgment or pressure. The room we were provided was serene and peaceful. We were allowed plenty of time to process at each step, offered water and accommodations of being present or not for the actual transition. No one wants to ever think of this process for their family member but this staff and facility were incredible during our loss. On 2/16/26, my German Shepherd was not doing well. I called to set up an emergent appointment with his vet that he had been going to since he was a puppy, but they would not make time. But I found VEG on google initially and saw that it was close to home. From the moment I called to make sure they could see me and my pup, they were incredibly helpful and kind. I arrived and once I pulled up they had a team out to the front to help my and my pup. They instantly got to work on my dog and I felt their concern and genuine support. I unfortunately did not receive the news I wanted and had to put my dear pup to sleep. The team here were incredibly supportive and caring once I decided to make my pup comfort. They had a beautiful, cozy room for us to say our goodbyes and helped coordinate all things after. I can't speak more highly of this place and everyone here. I would give this place a million stars if I could. Again, I would highly recommend the this location for any and all emergencies. read more

Our family cat, Orion, wasn't feeling well so my sister and I decided to take him here. He had been throwing up and was unable to keep anything down so we were very concerned that he needed to get seen immediately. Luckily for him (and us) he was seen at this location previously almost a year ago when he was diagnosed with CKD. Fortunately, his CKD is being maintained but poor guy has pancreatitis. It was comforting that we were immediately greeted and I mean, they held the door open like they were waiting for us since they saw us at the parking lot. Orion was immediately put on a table and surrounded by his care team. My sister gave them some info as they took his vitals and pulled up his medical records. They immediately did an ultrasound and doc and sis talked about symptoms. They put us in a treatment room so Orion could walk around and they took him as needed to run different tests. Our doctor and staff were great and they were so caring with him. They were very informative and understanding with our questions and you can tell that they just want to give him the best care. read more

I brought my cat in due to concern for a possible obstruction after he started throwing up. The staff greeted me right away i did not have to wait and asked thorough questions about what was going on. They were so attentive and genuinely kind with my cat, which made me feel so much more at ease. They took X-rays to make sure everything was okay and explained everything clearly. We were honestly in and out much faster than I expected. The customer service was amazing. The techs were knowledgeable, helpful, and handled my cat so gently. 10/10 experience. I hope I never need an emergency vet again, but if I do, this will absolutely be my first choice. read more

I was very impressed with the service we received at VEG when we brought our dog, Shadow, in on Sunday, January 11, 2026. He was not eating and very dehydrated and had a hard time walking. An ultrasound showed fluid on his heart with a mass causing the problem. As he was 12 years old, I could see he was in pain and had to make the very hard decision yo put him down. The dr and staff couldn't have been nicer. The room was quiet with a nice heated comfy bed for my dog with candles and soft music. We were able to spend as much time with him as we wanted and there was button to push when we were ready. They made a very hard decision as kind as possible. What a great team of highly competent, caring vet professionals! We were immediately greeted by a team in their unique open concept clinic. My cat was in CHF and I knew he wasn't coming home when we left for the clinic. Still, all my options were presented and I didn't feel rushed or judged for choosing euthanasia. I just wanted my poor boy to be out of pain and not struggling to breathe. Worst night I've had in a very long time. And I'm sorry I don't remember anyone's names (I barely knew my own name), but thankfully my vet tech daughter was with us and could communicate what I couldn't. After returning from a road trip, we picked up our dogs from the kennel and noticed our little rescue, Trinket, was sick--vomiting, diarrhea, and possibly a blockage. We rushed her to VEG in Naperville off Route 59, and from the moment we walked in, we were met with warmth and professionalism. Mark greeted us right away, made us feel comfortable, and quickly got the check-in process going. Within minutes, Dr. Ganesh personally came over to reassure us that we were in good hands. Across decades of pet ownership and many vet visits, neither my wife nor I have ever experienced a more attentive and genuinely compassionate team. It almost felt like a commercial was being filmed--it was that seamless and caring. We also deeply appreciated the clarity with the treatment plan. Everything was explained in detail, including the costs and the rationale behind each recommendation. In the past, we've walked away from other clinics feeling unsure about whether we were paying for necessary treatments. This time, we left feeling confident and informed. Thankfully, the x-rays showed no blockage, and Trinket was sent home with fluids and anti-nausea meds. We're monitoring her and hoping for a quick recovery. While we hope we never have to return, it's incredibly reassuring to know VEG Naperville is there when we need them. I hardly ever write reviews, but felt compelled to write one in this situation. We had just gotten two guinea pigs for my daughter, and one of them fell ill. Not having much experience with these types of animals I was at a loss for what to do. I called up and spoke to some nice people and eventually went down to the veterinary emergency group. Once I was there we were treated quickly and compassionately. Even at 11:30 at night the nurses and Dr were so great. We ultimately had to put down the guinea pig, but everyone over there was incredibly kind, compassionate, and understanding. It's not often these days that you get this type of service and we truly appreciated it. read more

Hands down the best emergency veterinary hospital I have ever been to. When you have to say goodbye to your best friend, you couldn't get more compassion that what the vet and vet tech provided. The staff was empathetic, supportive, and understanding from the time I walked in the door until I left. I can't really rate this business yet because thankfully, I don't need an emergency vet - however I thought since there can't be that many emergencies, I would call and see if they took regular checkups - minimum exam fee is over $200, so safe to say that isn't the case. I've seen the ads on FB and as much as I hate VCA, they take regular check ups. For the time being however, I will continue to drive the 2 hours to my regular vet who is reasonable for rescuers. read more

Our Shetland Sheepdog, Katie, tore a nail off her right back foot this evening. We couldn't stop the bleeding, and she couldn't put her foot down. I called my Vet, whom I knew doesn't do ER hours, but got VEG as a referral. The person who answered the phone when I called and explained the situation, put me through to a Vet and we decided I should bring her in. There was a nice young man who waited at the door and greeted us and started to work at getting us checked in. They took us immediately, there wasn't any waiting. The Vet who took care of Katie was awesome and very sweet. I was at ease, which put Katie at ease, as dogs feel what we feel. Katie got excellent care, and I felt very confident in the care the Vet was giving her. They were very reasonable with us. May God Bless them all. Thank you! read more

Our 9 pound 10 year old Chihuahua had gotten attacked by a coyote at 9:30pm so we took him to the 24/7 Veterinary'Emergency' Group in Naperville, IL. Such a horrible experience with the veterinarian!! We got there at 10:30pm last night and left this morning at 4:45am. Our dog, Shane, has a large gash on his left leg and a severed muscle. I'm no vet, but it was very obvious that his muscle was severed and exposed. There was absolutely NO PATIENTS in the waiting room when we arrived. The vet never looked closely at Shane's injuries but was more concerned about payment for services! They started giving him a series of IV shots (about 6-8) to calm him but they didn't work! There were at least 10 vet employees walking around, on the phone, on the computer, all the while Shane was sitting there, bleeding and in pain for 5 HOURS!! So, they finally put him on the operating table at 3:30am and injected him with a small syringe of Propofol and he drifted off. During the surgery HE WOKE UP SCREAMING and tried to jump off the table!The vet was cutting away the torn parts when he woke up. Oh, I was HOT!! She THEN decided to put him totally out with a local. WHY COULDN'T THE VET DO THAT WHEN WE FIRST BROUGHT HIM IN?? Instead, they let him suffer in pain for 5 hours!!! Oh, but the vet said she wouldn't charge me for the local anesthesia! At 4:45am when Shane woke up and it was time to go, they were going to give him his last shot of pain medication. Being an 'Emergency' clinic, wouldn't you think the vet could open the medicine cabinet?? No, it was locked and they couldn't open it. Oh, but they wouldn't charge me for that! I would never recommend this 'emergency' vet clinic for Any animal! read more

NOPE! I brought our 1 year old Yorkie in. He just wasn't himself, congested and rattling in his chest. Came to VEG, they were very nice. I told him he's congested, seems difficult to breathe. They dictate back to me what I said, but produced it as their diagnosis and as if I was hearing it for the first time. They stated he needed an IV, xray, oxygen treatment and needed to be quarantined, because they don't know if he was contagious. This was around 7am. I asked for price. They brought an almost $2000 estimate. I said nope, I'll wait 45 minutes for his vet to open down in shorewood. He use to be an emergency room vet. While driving down I called his breeder who has her own solve all solutions. Anyway.....put a humidifier outside his crate, he was good to go. Glad I was out only $200 dollars, better than an extra $1800. I don't like their scare tactics. If you go here, you better have a lot of money. But if you need to go, then go. If you can wait, then wait. read more

By far the BEST urgent care vet I have ever been to. Amazingly warm, compassionate, brilliant staff. They care so very much and it shows! My dog had a deep throat cough for several days but was still eating, drinking, acting her normal self. When I got up today I thought, maybe I'll reach into her mouth and feel for something that is there, sure enough I did. We hopped in the car and headed straight over to VET was was highly recommended by my vet. What a refreshingly different experience! I have been to so many emergency clinics and this was the best experience I have ever had with any dog! Thank you so much for coming to the Naperville area, we need you! My sweet girl is safe and sound and her airway is completely clear and I have peach of mind not. I called VEG when my parakeet was sick and they stated they were not experts at Avians. They did their very best to care for my parakeet and he did end up passing but they treated me and my parakeet very wonderfully. They gave me an ink print of his feet and gave me his feathers, they gave me time alone with him before passing and after. To the DVM and the Vet Techs you are all very wonderful and I thank you for the care Lime and I received, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs emergency care or advice. read more

THOROUGHLY impressed by the entire VEG team. My cat was seen for a urinary blockage and had to spend two days getting flushed out. The doctors included me in every treatment step for him, were very pleasant and informative, always kept me updated, and even let me visit him when I wanted!! I love the openness and inclusion in the care of the pets. The cost was quite pricey but it was worth it to save my baby.
