Riley after staying at Emergency Vet Services of Lisle

I can't say enough nice things about Emergency Vet Services of Lisle!! Riley ate 40 Culturelle Probiotic & Multivitamins for kids. The first ingredient was Xylitol!!!! It kills animals. It goes immed to the liver, within minutes. Riley was extremely ill, required IVs, calls to poison control and the expertise of the doctors at Emergency Vet Services in Lisle. She stayed overnight and after tests, meds & IVs Riley is on the road to recovery!! Xylitol is very dangerous....Riley is one lucky dog and it looks as if her liver will repair the damage The only problem is that on regular days (M-S) they are closed from 8am til noon. We had to bring Riley home for 4 hours then back at noon. However, on holiday weekends they are open 24 hours. They have the kindest & compassionate doctors, vet techs and staff. They explain everything and answer all your questions!!!

I had a very scary situation this morning with my dog. To make a long story short, he was bleeding excessively from his butt. From the moment I called, all the way through the check out process and having my dog handed back to me, was wonderful. Since we obviously couldn't go in due to the recent pandemic, it made me feel so much better having the vet call me throughout the process and explain to me what she was thinking in terms of possible issues and what her plan was to find the issue. We were given a very clear explanation on what the issue is and how we need to take care of it so that he recovers properly. The staff here was so friendly and reassuring. They showed my little guy so much love and I couldn't have asked for a better experience and more patient people during such a scary time. Thank you so much for your help, you're all amazing and we can't thank you enough.

At the recommendation of our regular vet, we brought our dog here when she had a seizure one evening. Our dog is very old, so we were really expecting the worst. Dr. Stephenson and staff treated us so well. From our initial phone call to our interactions at the clinic, everyone was sympathetic, professional, and reassuring. They have an on-site lab and we're able to have blood work results back in less than 15 minutes, allowing them to quickly make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. By the time they were finished, our dog was almost back to her very old self. And by the next day, she was completely back to normal. We know our time is limited with this little one, but we really appreciated the calm, compassionate, sensible approach to getting her feeling well again.

Our dog partially tore her CCL last November so we scheduled a consult with Dr. Przywara. Right from the start we knew we were in great hands. He did his initial observation of our dog and then came to talk to my husband and I. He was so kind and reassuring, and he was INCREDIBLY thorough. He sat with us for over 45 minutes explaining the anatomy of a canine knee, the injury our dog had, the options to fix it, and answering any and all questions we had. He never pressured us into anything and helped to give us the information we needed to make the right decision. Although we tried a few nonsurgical therapeutic options first, we ultimately decided to do TPLO surgery in February in an effort to get our girl back to 100%. Dr. Przywara did a fantastic job. He and his whole surgical team kept us informed and gave very good and detailed instructions for recovery. They made a tough recovery so much easier. Our girl is now 9 weeks post TPLO and is almost back to 100%! At the end of our final recheck appointment when thanking Dr. Przywara for all of his work with us and Kona, he said "this is why I got into this profession - to help good dogs and good people." And THAT tells you everything you need to know - he's the exact kind of vet you want taking care of your dog!

Last week we had a major scare and were transferred over to VSC from VEG, and upon our arrival they were already expecting us and were able to take our pup in and get her situated since she was in so much pain. Once we were in the room they walked us through best case scenario, and worst case scenario. To admit, they require the deposit for the minimum amount. The staff made sure to explain and present our options after evaluating the severity of our girl. We were able to walk out knowing what will and could happen. Before we left we were taken to the back to see our girl, and were offered visiting hours and the ability to call and check in with updates at anytime. The nurses were so nice and treated our girl so well that when it came time for us to say good night or bye for now she walked off without hesitation knowing they were going to take care of her. We've been in and out for a few different reasons since this trying to figure out the right dosing to help our girl heal, and to keep her comfortable and healthy. We were able to call in the middle of the it with questions and if we should bring her in or if there was something we could do at home to keep her comfortable. Each time we came in we were welcomed, headed and taken care of. We worked with a few different doctors over the course of the last week and were really glad to see how much attention and care they put into each pet and our girl. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. You never know what could happen until it does. They will talk through all the possibilities and give you your choices. You'll never have to feel silly about deciding what's best for you and your family.

I entered the establishment around 9am and didn't leave until sometime in the afternoon. My baby had a provisional diagnosis of chf and was prescribed medication to help him. We were given multiple options of how we wanted to proceed which is nice. We ended up choosing to have him come home on outpatient meds and had some X-rays done. I'm not gonna lie--this place is pricey and the way they do things is...interesting. We opted to get our medications within the community rather than through the e.d directly and the e.d doctor we worked with, Dr. Jacob Fischer, was kind. However, there was an incident which made me a little frustrated and not trust this place when the doctor wrote the script for the medications and when we went to get them filled at an outside pharmacy, the dosage that the doctor wrote was incorrect. Dr. Fischer wrote for a 1.5mg dosage when he meant to write 2.5mg dosage. Thankfully, the pharmacy tech at the outside pharmacy recognized this error as they didn't carry 1.5mg tablets for that particular medication, only 1.25mg, 2.5mg and 5mg. The pharmacy tech called the e.d and spoke to Dr. Fischer to gain clarification in which Dr.Fischer confirmed that he meant to prescribe 2.5mg rather than 1.5mg. Learning that Dr. Fischer made this mistake was alarming because I am paying this place for their services and if they are prescribing medication that would potentially save my baby's life then I would hope and actually assume that the doctor would be doing his job correctly because guess what? If it's incorrect, it could have cost my puppers his life. Thank God for the community pharmacy technician catching this error. Otherwise, I am grateful for the medications that were prescribed for my baby as they are helping him but I am not happy with the error that was done by the e.r physician. Maybe they need to give more critical cases to more seasoned veterinarians who have more experience on all forefronts instead of those who just graduated veterinarian school from 2023 and more recently. Allowing more seasoned veterinarians to work on critical cases like my baby's can ensure that our animals are properly taken cared of and the mediations that are prescribed to them are done so accurately. The pharmacy tech who took care of my baby, I forgot her name but she was amazing. She was the one who had told me to check out other places in the community for his medication because you could definitely get it cheaper than what they charge there and I love that. This techs heart was definitely in the right place. The receptionists in the front were decent but at times, it seems like they were more interested in talking to each other instead of taking care of those that were walking in. For those of you who would like to go here, they do have a plethora of services but i would definitely do your research. Again, I am grateful that they were able to take care of my baby but as for follow up care, I think I will be sticking with our normal vet. Please enter this establishment at your own risk and don't say i didn't warn you.

Dr. Peacock dispelled all those concerns the moment he walked in the room. He is warm and down to earth. My dog was experiencing severely labored breathing and post-surgical complications and urgently needed oxygen support. I was already hesitant to come here due to the overwhelming number of negative reviews, but the emergency hospital I normally use did not have oxygen available. I arrived in a state of panic with a dog who was visibly struggling to breathe. What I was met with was shockingly cold, dismissive, and unprofessional behavior from a young woman at the front desk who clearly had no interest in helping or even pretending to care. Instead of compassion or urgency, I was asked, "Have we seen you here before?" When I said no and explained the emergency, her only response was, "Well this is why we tell people to call before they come in. We're full and can't take your dog." I was so taken aback by the rudeness and lack of empathy that I walked out, placed my dog back in the car, and then returned inside to address how inappropriate her response had been given the severity of the situation. While I calmly voiced my discontent, the only response I received was a dismissive "Mmmmhmmmm, ok" repeated a few times. No apology. No acknowledgment. No concern. Nothing. I was absolutely floored. This wasn't a scheduling issue or a routine visit. This was a dog struggling to breathe. The lack of etiquette, professionalism, and basic human compassion was astounding and deeply upsetting, especially in what could have been my dog's final moments. This experience fully validated every negative thing I had heard about this organization. By contrast, Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Naperville and Oak Brook, as well as THRIVE in Hoffman Estates, treated my dog with kindness, urgency, and genuine compassion over the following days. The difference was night and day. Those hospitals understood what emergency veterinary care is supposed to look like. VCA clearly does not. I will never bring an animal here again, and I will actively warn others to avoid this location. No pet owner should be subjected to additional emotional distress when they are already terrified for their animal's life. This was unacceptable, heartless, and profoundly disappointing.

My first Pomeranian lived til 16 and I took her for over a year for Q Fluids 2x a week at vet in an amazing city Munster, IN and her and I would be in and out and 25 mins tops and it was $12-15. $70 for fluids is why so many poor owners and the poor pets suffer because they have no way of ever saving or helping their poor pet simply bc places like this only care about the $$ not your animals. It was so scary. And they put him on an antibiotics even though both blood work results he'd already had recently showed zero signs or symptoms of infection nor eating much at all nor drinking so he wouldn't even take it anyways but another way to have me pay more. I started using Animal Medical enter about a year ago for emergency visits and every time had a good to great experience. Yes expensive, but it was the same cost as most places for walk in emergency visits. In January I had brought my dogs in to my old vet after confirming the appointment that week to be told the appointments had been rescheduled, again! So I called Animal Medical Center and they were able to get my dogs seen together at the same time, on the day of the week I was available in a few weeks, not a month and a half. I was thrilled! Day off we got checked in and all the front of house staff was wonderful just during like the emergency visits. The wait was not long at all. The back of house staff were amazing. The vet tech that took all our information was incredible. Her name is Lauren and she took her time and actually listened to my concerns and made recommendations that might help my one dogs allergies, along with going over my concerns about both my dogs starting to get older, they will both be 13 this year. Lauren alone was enough to make me stay with this practice but it was not just her. All the other techs were so great not onto with us but with both dogs. The vet was kind, great with the dogs, and again something I did not even realize I felt was missing at my previous vet, she listened to my concerns and had recommendations to help ease my worries. I appreciated that they went over prices for everything after the vet saw the dogs but before the shots, nail trims, and bloodwork so you knew what you were getting into. I also got price quotes for a dental cleaning and X-rays and prices for everything while expensive compare with my previous vet and are better on some items. I am thrilled I finally got my butt in gear and switched feet offices and am beyond thrilled to be a client here.

I have had many vets in my life depending on where I was living. Now that I am a home owner, I'm grateful to have such a wonderful vet close by. I can't say enough good things about this establishment since everyone is always so nice, which is very calming especially when you go in there stressed or worried (like most of the time besides buying special food). Dr. Grover is very good and a real nice guy as well though Dr. Berg has been my main doc since she saved Bella's life and it's just worked out that way since I met her first. Dr. Berg and Jordan have probably put extra time in too for me since I send videos (asthma attacks) and we have established a great business relationship and they know how worried I am about my "little princess" as well as my car accident from being hit by the "texting driver". They have a great team there too and are all in sync with each other. Everyone at the front desk are extremely positive and helpful too so it has a wonderful atmosphere. Update: Bella, 12 years of age is now acting 5 years younger and has double the energy. She seems very happy now that her pain seems to be gone as well as she is waking me up at sunrise to open the blinds so she can watch the birds and etc. Her asthma has got a lot better too so I really can't express how happy I am to see her happy again! She is even playing hockey with her ball and loves her toys again. It puts a smile on my face even in these hard times of the pandemic. Thanks Dr. Berg, Jordan, and the staff for everything!
