DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF THE 5-STAR REVIEWS FOR THIS LOCATION! Here's why: we went into the Sandy Verizon store 2 weeks ago to upgrade to new phones. After we'd selected and paid for the new phones, the representative told us that the data transfer from our old phones to the new ones "could take up to 50 minutes, so feel free to leave and come back." We took him up on it and left for 25 minutes, then returned and wrapped up. Yesterday I checked my emails, and was startled to come across an email from Google thanking me fo 5-star review of the Verizon store in Sandy. The twist: I NEVER REVIEWED THEM. On October 20th, the day of my visit, the representative took it upon himself to get on my phone after I'd briefly left the store, and leave himself a 5-star review on Google. And it's clearly not an isolated incident. NO local cell phone store has 4.9 stars and almost THREE THOUSAND REVIEWS. This is clearly something they do often, and a huge invasion of their customers' privacy. I did not tell them they could do anything on my phone except transfer my data. Hugely unethical. Think twice before giving this store your business. I left this review on Google and received a reply to email the district manager Randy, which I did immediately. Three days later and no response. Came in on a Monday morning to have info switched from an old Verizon phone to a new Verizon phone I had purchased online. We have been with Verizon for over 30 years. I was immediately reminded why I drive 30 minutes to this location. From the minute I walked in Jack was super helpful, kind, quick and professional. I bought 3 new phones and a new plan last December. The young employee Jacob offered me a BOGO for the 2 Samsung phones I bought. I only recently checked to see whether we were receiving the monthly credits for the free phone. We were not, and it had been almost a full year since we bought them. I went back to the Verizon store in sandy, Mercedes spent over an hour with me trying to help me get it figured out. In the end Verizon told her that the BOGO only applied to iPhones at that time and the previous employee had given me wrong information. I was SO upset, mostly at myself for not verifying I'd not been getting those credits. Mercedes told me she was going to try one more thing and email their in store account manager. She told me she'd call me that day. I didn't hear from her and assumed they couldn't help me. Today, 2 full days later, Mercedes called me and told me her manager had managed to get the full discount and my account was credited! This has saved me hundreds of dollars and dropped my monthly bill by at least 50 dollars. She was professional, friendly, helpful, and did not give up fighting for me until she'd won. She represented her company in the best way possible. She never spoke poorly of them. She just went to work. She turned a very negative experience into a great one just by caring enough to follow through and advocate for me. I am truly grateful. read more

These people should be selling used cars for Jake the Snake instead of phones for Verizon. Plan on spending a few hours for any transaction, they are slow and not too competent. Good luck getting an honest quote on what a plan costs. No mention of hidden fees, activation charges, etc. So far, my quoted $75.00 per month plan has cost me over 350 dollars. I went back to return my new phone. I will keep my old one which I wanted to in the first place. I will wait and see what my revised bill from Verizon looks like after some changes. read more

Do not go to a non corporate Verizon store!!!!! This is not corporate. The little red head is a terrible person with a horrible attitude. The moment we walked into the door she had such a nasty attitude with us. She didn't ask questions and blamed us for not being clear. She never even gave us the chance to talk without being a little snooty brat. They charged us for things that shouldn't have been charged for like the SIM cards, I called corporate today to talk with them about it and they said she did everything wrong. Busted my already old, crappy phone while up on the mountain. Since I knew I had to go in anyway I figured it was time to switch to a newer iphone. The first day I tried going in, it was packed and there was already a guy waiting. I went to run some other errands and when I came back a couple hours later, same guy was STILL there waiting to be helped. It was close to closing time so I just decided to give up and leave (thankfully my phone was still somewhat usable or else it would have been a different story lol). Came back early the next morning right when they opened. Really wish I could remember the name of the guy who helped me because he was great. I had my dad with me who honestly probably made the trip more stressful than it needed to be with all his questions. He means well but you know how old(er) people are ;) The guy helping me was really great about it though and made sure all our questions were answered. I left with a new phone with little issue so really no complaints other than it being busy and slow the first day I tried going. read more

Right as I walked in the female worker yelled at me that there is a line and to go back outside. The sign on the door clearly states 10 customers are allowed inside at a time. I asked if I could at least wait inside as it is cold and I was the 10th person. The moment another customer walked inside she told me I needed to leave, although there was another sign stating there could only be one person per car (family) inside, which was not happening. She was not warm or welcoming; didn't say, "hi" or "thank you for waiting." I've been a Verizon customer for 17 years, I've never had such a poor customer service experience. I know there are Corona Virus regulations in place, currently, but have the know-with-all to realize how to talk to your customers. I left after an hour of sitting there with no service. This was a very painful experience. to say the least. Fist of all, the young lady that helped me choose a phone for my daughter's 13th birthday told me that if she didn't like the phone, or if it didn't work, then I could replace it with another phone within 14 days. Fine and dandy. What she did NOT tell me was that there would be a $50 restocking fee! So, the iPhone 4s was pretty short of Gigabytes, and my daughter wanted to get a newer iPhone 5c. So when we went back to replace it with a newer phone we got hit with the restocking fee. I informed them that at no time had I been told about this. They pointed to a small sign on the wall stating this info, and to the fine print on my signed contract. Okay, lesson learned. ALWAYS READ THE CONTRACT! We paid the $50. It then took about 2 MORE HOURS (not exaggerating) to transfer the number to the new phone. It felt like I was buying a car, and it took just as long. Lesson #1: Cellular Plus is not actually a Verizon store, but only Authorized to SELL Verizon phones. The signage makes it seem like it's an actual Verizon retail outlet. It's NOT! When I asked what the Plus Rewards 5/14 for $15 was for the clerk mumbled something about it being a required purchase on the tablets. Huh? But I was in a hurry so off I went. The tablet wasn't capable of what I wanted it to do so I returned it the next day. When the $15 did not come with the refund I asked why and found out it is an 'in-store processing fee'. Rip-off. Oh Man. So I went in this morning to buy my twins Gizmo Gadget Watches for Christmas. Unfortunatly I purchased two Gizmo Pal 2's. This was my mistake. When I got home and started programing them to make them 'out of the box ready' for my kids I realized my mistake. I went back to the store to return them less than an hour from when I purchased them. I was aware of the $50 restocking fee and was hoping that since the purchase was so recent that they might smile upon me. I however was not able to get out of the $50 fee (X2). On top of that, this store charges a $15 purchase fee per device. Yes the store charges you to buy products from them! I was unable to get out of that fee as well (X2). I went to the Verizon store in Gresham (a real Verizon store) to get the watches that I meant to purchase in the first place. They heard this story and were somewhat shocked. They do not charge a purchase fee but they do have a restocking fee of $30. In other words if I had made this mistake at their store I would have been out $60 for the restocking fee instead of $130 at the Sandy Verizon/Cellular Plus store. RJ, the Gresham salesman that helped me also reviewed my bill and was able to reduce it by $20/month and add an employer benefit that I didn't have but had thought I had already set up at the Sandy store months prior. They also gave me a $25 rebate for each device which soothed the burn a bit. In addition the sales people at the Gresham Verizon store were so much more knowledgeable, professional and enjoyable to engage with. Mind you this was a very busy Christmas eve and they were still awesome! It's well worth the 12 mile trip to go to a store that will serve the customer and not gouge them for innocent mistakes. Anyway, lesson learned. Don't bother with Cellular Plus in Sandy. read more

My wife got me a screen cover for my iPhone for Christmas, didn't want it so she went to return it. She related to me what happened. First off I'm not a fan of a clerk asking "why didn't he want it, I have one." That's not a big deal though. The main issue is that out of 3 clerks no one could authorize the return. They sold me a phone that I returned for another phone. They charged me two upgrade fees as well as refused to exchange unused accessories for ones that fit my current phone. Further more, they put my number in an add campaign and I'm being solicited via text. Absolutely horrid service. I'm addition, the manager took the employee back to the phone room and I very clearly heard him say "F*ck her, if she doesn't like it I'll tell her ass to leave" when I brought up the fact that I was charged two fees and their refusal to exchange my accessories. This place scams people. My husband purchased a plan and phone that allowed for a 14 day no questions asked return. After having several problems with the service he returned the phone on the 14th day and was met with the 18 year old sales clerk who sold him the phone refusing to return the phone stating that he was returning it on the 15th day (so he didn't have to give back his commission). The employee was extremely rude as was the manager. As a result we've both canceled our accounts with Verizon because of how terrible our experience was with this particular branch. read more

I would give them 0, but cannot. Shawn the store manager might be knowledgeable but he is also very misleading or he will lie to you. He will tell you that if you buy a new phone today he will give you a free tablet. He fails to tell you that the tablet is really not free. When you get your first bill you will be charged an activation fee plus monthly service charges. When I took the tablet back, he told me that the 14 day return period is over and he will not take back the tablet. Thank-god Verizon corporate is aware of these type of misleading information with this particular reseller. Verizon gave me a complete refund for the tablet plus an additional $100 for my trade in value. Stay away from this third party reseller for Verizon. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!! read more

I was going to this store to buy my iPhone 6 a case. When's got there it was 7:58pm. I know the store closes at 8pm. I open my car door and the ladies inside make eye contact with me and turn off the lights and open sign. I guess Verizon doesn't like money. I just wanted to buy a case. The ladies then went I the back room, and as I left they came out front again knowing I'm leaving. This was on4/16/15 at7:58pm. Maybe the manager will know which crew this was. This store doesn't even rate one star. Their corporate office should take note of customer complaints lodged on this site and attempt to resolve them. This type of flagrant business earns itself a bad reputation, and word of mouth travels fast. I can only guess, the store draws in lots of customers because of its corner location and overall appearance, but that doesn't justify the lack of customer service that yields grievances that seem to be ignored. My main complaint is lack of care and selective disclosure of contract details. Management in this store sold me a Jet Pack knowing I didn't even have a computer. And, when I tried to return the device well within the return period, they conveyed to me they couldn't take it back. I disconnected the device five months later because I was paying $20/month for a line I couldn't even utilize. They didn't even warn me about their early disconnect fee - only the carrier's penalty. So, I paid a bill including the maximum penalty of $175.00 to the carrier (Verizon Wireless) and am now fighting to clear my credit because of Cellular Plus' excessive penalty of $200.00, which I didn't know about! I never even received a bill for the amount owed and it is now in collections. Based upon my own personal experience, my advice is to avoid this business and keep your money in YOUR pocket. read more

I was interviewed for Cellular Wireless. Initially, they seemed like a great company and good people. But something happened just before the training. I was contacted by an organization which handles the training, and they made clear that they were the employers in the training session. This should have been my first warning. Why would they need to switch responsibility to an outside organization? The training was basically deficient in several aspects. Firstly, there were no written instructions, you had to rely on the instructor to help you enter and exit coded websites. This can get very tricky. Secondly, once on the website, there was no navigation instruction. It was all just "go here, go there" and if you were a slow poke, you were forever trying to get the instructor's attention which could be frustrating. Thirdly, we had to make outside phone calls using our own phones. I had a cheap phone whose battery kept going out. Additionally, the eye strain of the computers caused me to close my eyes at the end of the day, and the instructor--rather than speak to me about this issue--just had me fired. Seemed like a very shallow commitment to training people and a very unintelligent one at that. read more

Before this was a 'full service' store, it was a sales only shop staffed by people who treated you like they were doing you a favor just to wait on you. It hasn't gotten any better. When I stopped in today, there were four employees, two customers, and no one spoke to me. I waited a couple of minutes while the two idle employees ignored me; when I asked if they could help me with a couple of issues with my phone, I was told that they could and they'd be with me 'shortly'. Shortly didn't happen, so I left. At any other Verizon Wireless store (as a twenty-year customer), you're greeted at the door, asked what issues you need addressed, and put on the queue; you know what's happening, and every employee seems to be working. I had a terrible experience in this store and almost felt like I was the victim of a scam. The conversation I had with the salesman was very different from the contract I ended up signing. It cost me $85.00 to take a wireless phone device home to check it out when I was led to believe, if I returned it within a week, it wouldn't cost anything. I felt so stupid - shame on me for trusting the salesman.
