WOULD BE ZERO STARS IF IT WERE AN OPTION!!!!!! I had been a loyal Verizon customer for several years. I went to the Verizon Hilltop store in Redding, CA about a month ago (7/15/24). I was assisted by Nathan for a stolen phone. Within about 5 minutes, I was so struck by the absolute poorest of customer service. I had alerted Nathan that I needed the very least expensive option to walk out of the store. Nathan tried selling me an upgrade for a couple hundred dollars -- when I began questioning why I couldn't just get a replacement phone with the insurance I paid for, Nathan was interrupting (and smiling), but incredibly rude. Any time I started speaking I was interrupted abruptly. When I calmly mentioned to Nathan that he needed to calm down, he said through a terse smile, "I assure you, ma'am I am perfectly calm. That's called customer service." At that point, I took a deep breath, and I politely asked for the flyer I needed and walked out of the store. I went across the street to AT&T and I was immediately helped in a kind, calm, professional manner. **********But wait -- there's more! Nathan just this moment 08/15/24 called me offering me an upgrade on my Galaxy to a better phone! I let him finish his schpiel, and when he was finished, I mentioned that I had been in about a month ago, and he had helped me. Once again I was inturrupted, and waited for him to speak. He said oh, he did remember me now that he heard me speaking. Three more times I started, and Nathan talked over me. I finally had to politely ask, "Is there anything I have to say today that you are interested in listening to?" Nathan hung up on me and would not answer when I called back. I also could not reach the store directly and the 800 number provided for the store would not pick up. Hmmmm, yeah, I have been in customer service for over 30 years. We had a horrible experience with a male employee today on 07/04/22 that tried to bully my wife. He was disrespectful and spoke down to her, raising his voice, and walked away as we asked him to calm down. We had to stand up for ourselves with his aggressive behavior. We left shaken. I needed a new phone and came in and was in somewhat of a rush, a very sweet, smart, prompt girl named Ashley I believe helped me to the best of her ability. I DO NOT RECOMMEND VERIZON. They don't tell you anything about their plans and they hide things. They took over $600 out of my account without my permission even though I stop using there services 2 months ago. They over charge you on their plans. $100 for unlimited data is absolutely ridiculous. I had an ongoing investigation with my account after I called them out for the bill and they said "they would get back to me" and took the money out anyway. Lies!! Having just stopped at Best Buy had full knowledge of what was available. I was lied to. So I left and went back to Best Buy bc Eric at mobile was great. However Verizon blocked him from completing the transaction. So I had to complete the transaction over the phone with Verizon. The good news is I was able get the exact pricing Eric at Best Buy quoted saving me $100.00+ a month moving from a limited data plan to unlimited and adding a line. It is easier to buy a car and get a good deal. Then anything from the folks at the Corp Verizon store in redding California. My 65 year old father went in to upgrade. He had an iphone 5 for quite a long time, it was his first smartphone. We understand that during covid there are restrictions so my dad had to go in alone. He isn't smartphone literate, that should have been obvious to the salesperson. Brandon 'helped' him out. My father bought a new phone, case, and screen protector. Brandon happily sold all of it to him, then offered NO customer service. He let my dad leave everything new in the box and a page of directions on how to get his new phone working. We might as well have just gone to any retailer. He didn't even offer to set it up, transfer the information or put on the screen protector. We will NEVER buy from this location again. Such poor service that clearly didn't honor the value or needs of the customer. Luckily, the next day we were able to work with Billy at the Verizon location next to Lowes. Stoopid customer service! I came in at about 6:25 and the place was pretty slow. I put my name in their electronic list and was second in line. I waited for 15 minutes while several representatives finished with customers and then disappeared in the back. Meanwhile, the "greeter" stood around and played on his phone THE ENTIRE TIME. I asked if he could help me because all I had to do was to return a phone case, but he said he wasn't allowed while he was "greeting". Finally a guy came out and switched with him. I was then told that he was going to get the representative that sold me the case because she had to return it!!! He said he would only help me if she wasn't available!!! How stoopid are these policies?! He can't help me on (what should have been) a quick return because he was "greeting" and then he couldn't even be the one to help me!!!! Also, did I mention that I wasn't even "greeted" when I walked in the store?! Dumb policies that obviously don't even work and only create poor customer experiences. I imagine it's an excellent system when they're busy, but "greeters" should be able to multi-task when it's so slow. read more

I begin to get frustrated (finally) because there are not notes on my account as promised so that I am not repeating myself. I ask if she can copy me on the email she is sending Ryan, she says that she can not. I am told this is for privacy reasons. I ask if she can copy/paste within a separate email just to me so that I don't receive his email due to her "privacy concerns". She says she can not due to privacy reasons, making it seem like it would be inappropriate for me to have her personal email. I asked if she is sending this email to Ryan from her personal email, she responds with no, its from her business email. Why would it be a security breath if she emailed me from her business email? How is that inappropriate? At this point its pretty clear that they do not want a paper trail, and the excuse of "this is for your privacy" is being used. I then start saying I am going to write a Yelp review if I get turned around again so that a paper trail is found. This is a classic move used by authoritarian communication structure models to make the ones that they control seem like they are being taken care of, that their "safety" is their concern, while meanwhile they are just being led further down the rabbit hole of being tricked and deceived. For most people they would get frustrated and give in, continue to pay the phone bill that they have, and put up with what they were handed. Not me. I stated for this to be made right I expect the following to occur: 1. My phone bill goes back to $140 a month (with the same unlimited data plan which still totaled $140 a month) 2. This current bill of $232.14 that is due now is paid in full by Verizon 3. I am given an address to send the additional phone that has not been opened or used 4. This additional phone and line is taken off from my account (203-666-xxxx) 5. Now that I am typing this out and spending way more time on this, an issue that should have been properly resolved a month ago during my first call, I expect $100 to be refunded to my account after paying $100 extra than what I was promised on my last phone bill. I find this resolution beyond fair and just. Only a few key pieces in Megan's email was off to Ryan, including stating I signed a "device payment agreement", which I did not. That was a pretty big error to have typed out, which is why I find it important to state here. I corrected before it was sent to him. I then ask to speak with her supervisor, Billy (William) Whittington. I share with him that I want an email follow up from here on out. He tells me the same story, of how its due to privacy issues that they cannot email. I explain its clear this is a tactic to frustrate customers and leave out essential information, and any fortune 500 company has enough security to not be afraid of emailing their clients. I was very clear that if this conversation was to continue over the phone that I would be leaving a poor Yelp review. He then began to speak in a slightly condescending and authoritative way with an energy designed to calm my system, saying that he would call me on Saturday, not email. He stated he would call me after I was very specific that I was a heavens no to being called and that this needed to be over email due to how many times I have been rerouted. Once he stated that this would be another call, I then hung up and wrote this review. To be very clear I do not consent to any policies that say that this needed to be handled by a certain date for my terms to be met, for I did not sign anything saying that I agree to those terms. I do not accept any policies that say that it is too late for this to be handled. I do not consent to any policies that say that this can not be handled over email. Customer service is terrible. We have a relatively new phone that they sold. The phone no longer turns on. We pay the monthly insurance for all our phones, which they sell. When we went there to get the broken phone replaced, I was referred to a phone number that eventually turns into a digital customer service. I came in looking for an iPad case and wound up leaving with a plan that packs more features for half of what I was paying. It all started with Jon asking if I am planning to start a business - which I was. Not only did they tell me about waiting till next week to buy my iPad case (save an additional 25% off accessories as they'll have a sale) but they also went out of their way to help me troubleshoot my home WiFi/cell signal situation by texting/calling their coworkers! We were assisted immediately by Blake, who took our situation into consideration and explained our options for a phone upgrade to us very comprehensively. The entire time we were there, the staff were incredibly helpful and polite. As if that wasn't impressive enough, the equipment selection and variety of bundles the store had to offer was excellent. I have been a Verizon Wireless customer since 2007. Used to be a place you could go for help great customer service. But the place now is absolutely terrible there is no one there that has good customer service. They enjoy telling you what you canning cannot do. They're rude. They will not help you unless they're making money. They can't even do something as simple as activate a cell phone. It is the worst place I've ever been in terms of Verizon Wireless. I will not go back. I will take my business either to a different Verizon wireless or a different cell phone carrier. The manager at that store on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 is absolutely the biggest jackass in the world. thrilled to pick up my new phone. Super easy process. Employees very nice and helpful. I couldn't wait to activate and use it. After I got home (I live 35 miles from the closest Verizon store) I realized that I have no way of charging it because the only thing included is a cord. I don't have an adapter that would fit, and no way to plug it directly into an outlet. The phone was at 46% so I could've activated it, but then, when the battery ran out, I wouldn't have a phone. no one even asked. Isn't this something that should have been brought up? why do they have to change the design? so we'd have to buy a new adapter.... read more

My parents and I went in to this location to look into getting my parents a couple new phones. We were talking to Cameron most of the time and he was nice and very helpful. He was the only reason this location gets more than one star. My mom had one question about what the newest iPhone coming out, if it was going to be called iPhone 11 or something different. So she asked a worker who walked up named Darrius. Darrius stared at her, then said "what are you talking about?" And then said "obviously it's going to be called 11" then walked away. He was literally SOOO rude and disrespectful to my mom and made me want to not purchase anything from this location. So we left and haven't gone back. My salesman, Sori, told me I could save money by switching to a business plan then disappeared in the back popping in and out as I waited over 2 1/2 hours!. I finally had to TEXT him that I couldn't wait anymore because I had my two little daughters with me and they were getting restless. His response back to me was, "it's fine." "It's fine"? What the heck does that mean?! Does he mean it's fine that I left or does he mean it's fine he's going to work on my order? I have no idea. The service was horrible. Please be aware of taking your young daughters into this store to get a new phone. this location hires predators. My mother took my little sister who just turned 18 to get a Phone line of her own. The worker named Melvin, took her information down like normal protocol after they left the store, he proceeded to text her a disturbing text message trying to talk to her when she ignored it, he showed up at her job trying to get her attention further. mind you he is well above her age; we all know it is illegal to get any information from the files they are provided with at the store. We called the store manager Hugo who in my opinion is very unprofessional and not willing to help rectify the situation. He says because I am not a customer, he cannot help me and to have someone who is an account member to call him to report this issue. This is causing a lot of stress and concern for her. I went in for help with a phone that has a black screen but is on. They said they can't help me at all and I needed to file a claim and then get out of the store. Offered zero help with anything except to buy a new phone with this one still under warranty. They can't find any cracks or scratches on the phone at all. Yes it's under warranty but if I send it in and it's not a warranty issue they will get in trouble. The reception I get with the phone is horrible compared to T-Mobile that I used to have. I was having issues with my 2 year old iPhone. I made an appointment to visit with a Verizon associate. My appointment was at 11:00. When I arrived for my appointment and checked in 10 minutes early I was told it would be a few minutes. Someone else came in right after me without an appointment and he was taken first. He was not the owner of the account so it was taking longer than they expected evidently. The check in associate came to me and said maybe he could help me because by now it was 11:10. I showed him my phone with the "green line of death " on the screen and told him it was getting really hot at times. The associate said "that's too bad. I can sell you a new phone ". I asked for other options and he said I could take it somewhere and try to get it fixed but he advised me to purchase a new phone. He was uncaring and dismissive. I was a Verizon customer for over 10 years. I am now going to be a customer of another carrier, due to this service. read more

Horrible customer service!!! Bought a new phone, paying nearly $500 and they didn't even show me how to turn it on or where the s pen was! The employee asked me 3 times what color I wanted, .three times I replied,"white".... he began putting the battery in a black phone until I objected! I would suggest doing anything you need to do with verizon without stepping foot in this store. They are the most unhelpful bunch of employees that I have see in quite a long time. With doing away with the upgrades phones are pretty expensive these days to be so unhelpful. We tried to upgrade a phone but of course they didn't have it but can order it. We went ahead and ordered & got to the car and decided to go ahead and go up one more step. Went back in and was told that after they got my signature there was nothing they could do until the one we ordered came. 5 minutes tops. Called & got it stopped and the one we wanted in the works. Took almost a whole day for it to go through their computer system to get picked up. Went in to be handed the phone & sent on our way. You will wait an extended period of time if you do not have an appointment...even if you do have one you will wait, bring the paper. They will promise to capture your home number but after a month and many calls between them and my home phone provider Verizon dropped the ball and my home phone number was lost. It took a month to have a phone again at home. DO NOT PAY WITH CASH OR CHECK. I have a prepaid phone You won't believe this one. 1. I went in to the Dana Drive store and told them that at the end of my payment for August I wanted the phone to turn off, I no longer needed a cell. 2. They could not tell me how much I needed to pay for this to happen. 3. I wrote a check for the amount that they told me to pay. 4. I over paid and at the end of August I had $44.55 left that I wanted to be returned to me. They told me that since I paid by check they could not refund my money. They could and would if I had used a credit card but not if I paid cash. Oh, and I was on the phone for two hours each time to try and get a supervisor to call me back...they couldn't help me. 5. I was upset and their only answer for me was to petition to the corporate headquarters or to go back into the store and take it up with them. I asked if that made sense to them at all but they could not see that I felt the company phone connection should have been able to do what the store could do. The store told me to call the 611 and do it there...so the loop has continued. I am probably going to make a sign and if I have a few minutes I will stop in front of the store and raise the sign. OH and one more thing. They charge for every 411 call and tell their customers that all phone companies work that way. They lie. Metro has a plan that you can pay an extra two dollars and have unlimited 411 calls. I saw them with a senior person who wanted a new battery and by the end of the time they sold her a whole new phone and plan and she kept telling them no but she finally said okay..they told her that her phone would not work and no battery could be found. I wanted to jump in and tell her how to get a new battery at any number of stores. The store might have good people there but they have no ability to actually tell me what the pay off was to cancel my internet. The payoff for early termination was $155 and I had a balance but they could not calculate the exact amount. Why is that? They told me that they cannot calculate the extra charges, tax or fees. What are they there for. If you have a wireless Internet account there is a phone number attached to you. The device does not have the phone number actually written on it. The greeter cannot help you with any basic information because you cannot provide the phone number for the internet...I sat there for two hours watching her help person after person and she accessed the accounts. i told her I would provide my SS #, all other account information...they could not help me. That is ridiculous. Stay away from Verizon Try Metro or any other company. If they cannot tell you the amount you owe...run for cover. read more

They accepted an online fulfillment order of an iPhone to be picked up...the order was confirmed but upon picking it up the manager argued that we had "cancelled" our order when that wasn't the case, they were actually the ones that dismissed us and cancelled the order without word. I had talked an old geezer friend of mine into buying an iPhone 6s Plus. He had a flip phone which drove me nuts every time he pulled it out. But he's one of those people who fights new technology. Once he learns it, he's fine, but getting him through the learning process is getting interesting. He was having a problem with the touch screen so we went down to the Verizon store and Nikole jumped right in and fixed the problem. It was just a matter of doing a resetting and my friend was good to go. She was a real pro and did a great job. Most of the staff at this store are very professional and we didn't have to wait very long. We only waited about 10 minutes as it was quite busy, but that's to be expected. Nikole also helped my friend get a veteran's discount for his service; and that was an unexpected bonus. read more
