I had talked an old geezer friend of mine into buying an iPhone 6s Plus. He had a flip phone which drove me nuts every time he pulled it out. But he's one of those people who fights new technology. Once he learns it, he's fine, but getting him through the learning process is getting interesting. He was having a problem with the touch screen so we went down to the Verizon store and Nikole jumped right in and fixed the problem. It was just a matter of doing a resetting and my friend was good to go. She was a real pro and did a great job. Most of the staff at this store are very professional and we didn't have to wait very long. We only waited about 10 minutes as it was quite busy, but that's to be expected. The first encounter with this store my daughter came in with her father they treated her with disrespect and pushed her omg she came home crying telling me the girl wasn't kind. This was in the process of her trying to return a phone to get a new one because that one was DOA! A phone that was bought over the internet when she came in they basically told her that they weren't equipped to help her! This is the corporate store why are you not equipped to help! Needless to say we went to a different store much more helpful and kind and went out of their way to help her and even showed her a way to get a better phone. Forward to today... I go into return the online phone to fix the account and the gentleman when I offered a government issued ID said that's not good enough! Really not good enough! Wow okay I'm able to use this ID anywhere. I don't have to use the ID when I purchased or upgraded the phone. I said wait this is just a return I'm not in need of anything credited just for them to ship it back! I am not asking for money or changes to the account! The gentleman used Mmmmhmmms and likes... and yet they felt the need to disrespect my child and insult my intelligence when I said I have to be to work in 10 minutes they said the manager will see you in 15 and then when I asked him 15 minutes later gave me an appt. for 30mintues later!!! I don't even live in town I had to drive and get My ID in the pouring rain missed work and had to come back just so they could return a phone that didn't work in the first place! We went in to get new lines, switching from AT&T and CAMERON helped us telling us all these bundles and free iPhones with no fees and all that. I knew it was all too good to be true! To find out, the "bundles" we were sold weren't even on any type of sale. And the "free" hum devices were NOT free at all and to find out later when we got our phone bill, we were charged for the hum and on top of that, had to pay for each device monthly. We called customer service and they told us we can go and return the devices, but when we did they told us they couldn't do anything about it because it was past 14 days when both hum devices were never even activated or opened. Well how were we supposed to even know we were gonna get charged for all these devices when we were told it was free. This obviously has happened before because the gentleman knew the story when we called customer service. And on top of that! We still have to pay for the "free" iPhones for a few months till it is "free". His manager came by while we were in the whole process of buying it and asking questions because he obviously knew what the guy was up to and note that it took us 4 hours the first day buying all these "free" devices and gadgets. Yesterday I went in to the Hilltop store to cut service with AT&T and sign up with Verizon. I asked for a specific feature to be added to my phone so it would match the features I had with AT&T. I was told the feature was not possible with Verizon and "sorry." I decided that was a dealbreaker and left without signing up. When I left the store I decided to get a second opinion from another Verizon store so I drove to Anderson. I told the Anderson store what I was told by the Redding Hilltop store about the feature not being available and they told me to wait a few minutes they would check in to it. After a couple of calls I was told that YES that feature was available they just needed to set it up in their computer. They set me up and changed over my phone in a matter of minutes. Anderson took the time to care and went the extra mile to figure out how to get me the services I needed they didn't simply say "sorry" and head off to the next waiting customer. Anderson made the sale and got the credit. Unfortunately Redding Hilltop didn't care about my needs so they lost the sale. Overall I'm happy with the outcome and happy for the competent Verizon employees in Anderson. Needless to say I wont be back to the Redding Hilltop store. read more

They claim that they don't allow wifi calling because they "can't guarantee call quality" - when in fact they really just want to sell you a ridiculously overpriced ($250) 'network extender'. Except that it doesn't actually extend the network, it send your calls over the internet! (Which is what wifi calling does on every other provider FOR FREE). Oh, and to top it off, when you do break down and shell out the cash... the dumba**es at the store will probably fail to link it to your account properly... So when you have to spend 4 hours driving back into town to get it replaced they'll just say: "Oops! Sorry, our bad. Have fun with your overpriced device that lets you do what every other provider lets you do for free". Truly Truly Awful. If only lying and cheating were criminal... read more

Robert is phenomenal. We went in today to pick up a phone we had ordered online last night. We did not have to wait at all. Somehow though, the online order had assigned our phone to someone else's account. Robert was a champ. He worked on the phone to correct both the account info and the phone number itself. He never gave up and had a great sense of humor, making the entire experience pleasurable instead of disastrous. When you go in, ask for Robert. Worst company in the world to get a phone with. I came in to add a new s5 line. All my lines have had insurance for 2 years, she asks me if I want it on that line and I say no. Everything is fine so we leave the store. A few days later my IPhone breaks it's screen so we go to trade it in..... they tell us we have no insurance on any of the lines anymore and the guy talked to us like we were idiots.... So we call customer service and speak with a manager named Tessa 6157647500 extension 2030355 who says to us "We see that the agent had made a mistake and I will personally file a report about the way you were treated in the store and you will have a new phone on your doorstep within 2 days.". Well that was a lie and it's been 2 weeks of having people answer phones and hang up on me, Tessa answering and breathing into her phone and talking without responding to us and even the 3 other managers who admit the agents fault... we even had one manager tell us every line has to have insurance or none of them get it.. this entire company is a joke and the service here is comparable to going to a zoo and giving monkeys money and phones. I advise anyone to not go here to this store and go to BestBuy. They at least know about their own products and take responsibility for their actions. read more

It seems that there is a disconnect between what customer service is and what people beleive it is... Ordered a new phone online to be picked up at the store, as this makes it simple with so many retailers that offer the service. After several hours of waiting for a confirmation email,I had other erands to run and I stopped by the store to make an in-person inquiry. After waiting for acknowledgement that I was even noticed for more than 35 minutes, I walked out the door, cancelled my online order to pickup at the store, drove to another vendor and switched all of my Verizon services to another carrier with all new devices, 10 in total. The only requirement I have with customer service is to have someone acknowledge that I'm in their presence and let me know that they are busy and will be with me soon... not so with these guys. Hope I have the opportunity to have them enter my place of business one day. Too bad, good CS last about 10 days. Bad CS lasts about 11 years. read more

I normally don't like going here. There's usually a ridiculous line, and the employees are usually vultures, or have better things to do than help. I also don't like that Verizon and Microsoft can't get along, and therefore the employees always push iPhone or Droid, and have no knowledge or interest in Windows phones. Recently signed up with Verizon and had some issues with the equipment. The staff was extremely helpful on all three visits and replaced the defective parts at no cost to me. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for assistance. It might help those who had longer waits to avoid the busy times at the store. It sure helped in my case. read more

When trying to express concerns, he was short and did not engage, and rushed back to talk to his co-worker. Called to turn my phone off a week ago BEFORE my monthly bill was due! They didnt follow through and my phone was still on this morning and i received a text saying i was paid for another month so went to the Verizon store only to be told there was nothing they could do! They called the billing dept. I was told I couldnt get a credit for the future payment theytook out of my bank account, hows that? So they turned my phone off and charged me another month! This is officially the worst Verizon store I've ever been to. I have been here multiple times because there is simply no other store in Redding. I have been given wrong answers multiple times and have been referred to customer service many times as well. It seems like nobody has a clue of what they are talking about and they don't seem to enjoy helping people. Just one example: I was told, in another store on vacation, that I could get a Verizon discount because of my work place and so I went to this store to get the discount and had a screenshot of my paystub ready. I was told that I can only apply for the discount in the store (which was false information) and that I had to bring a paper copy because they apparently have to take a photo of it with their iPad (which makes no sense because I could have just emailed the screenshot and it would even be much better quality than an iPad camera hahaha). After I called customer service I was told that I can just apply online and I applied in 30 seconds. They were gonna make me go home print out a copy of my paystub come back and then I bet I would have had to wait in line for another 30 minutes. Let's see. You will wait almost an hour for service. I went in 4 times in three days. First to activate a new phone which the woman Nicole gave me a hassle but it all worked out. The next day I went in and said there's something wrong. It's draining and has no bars, I asked for another phone. The Sales man didn't even bother to help. He said oh you have to pay another $280. So I left. I called customer service and the did technical stuff then told me I can get a new one for free bcs mine is defective .. Just want to start off saying that i was not a big fan of this cell phone company. Every time i had a problem with my phone i went in and the service reps they had were not very good.So i was going to change company's when my contract was up. Then i went to Verizon on Dana Dr and of course i had to wait in line again they had 3 people at the door greeting us only to tell us to wait in line.Well needles to say i was ready to leave and just cancel my service for good.but i stuck it out for a few more min. longer. Well needles to say im really glad i did. Because a young lady named SANDY wound up helping me.she was the most pleasant and helpful Verison person to ever help me in the 8 years ive had service with them.Lets just say i never really knew how to use my phone the right way.and it never did what i needed it to do.Well sandy showed me a phone that was more to my needs and showed me how to use it and answered all of my questions and fixed some of my problems with my verizon account and did it all with a smile on her face and never sounded discouraged with me.Because of her i keep my account with them and got a new phone that works for what i needed. and not what was the hot phone at the time that the other sales reps. keep selling me.Well ive been back to that store several times now and would always wait for SANDY to help me and she would always greet me by my name well that really means a lot to me in this day and age of fast moving business that don't have that personal touch anymore.Well to me SANDY brought that personal touch back. I went into Verizon wireless the other day on Dana in the Discovery Village and the employee helping me, Matt, was absolutely rude. Customer service was HORRIBLE and he was not providing information I needed and was no help. He also told me false information about buying a new phone and told me that even though I paid retail price for my phone I still have to return my phone after my two year contract was up (I am not on the edge plan) and I thought that was very absurd. Verizon has apparently gotten to big, that the left does not know what the right is doing. Customer service tells you one thing and the Redding, Ca store tells you another.I was due for an upgrade and there was 2 days left, my phone finally quit working so I called customer service to have them take the hold off the account, which I have done before, so I could go into the store and get a new phone.I was told by them that they could not do that, the store has to make that decision. I had her call the store and she said that they said they could not guarantee I could do that.So then I call the store and actually talked to the person she talked to and asked WHY? He said that is not what he said. He told me that he said that they cannot override the 2 days they do not have the authorization to do that.Which I new that is why I called the customer service people first, he told me I needed to talk to someone in Customer Core not Customer Service.So I called back and asked to talk to someone in customer core. Wrong again she was confused as to how I was given to her and that there was nothing she could do, so ya, back to customer service. Frustrated you bet, so now they will do the upgrade, mail it out, it will be here Tuesday, catch, of course, it will cost $100 more than at the store.So let me clarify they want me to pay a $100 more for something I can go get at the store the same day I am due to receive the phone.If you cannot get the same service from a Verizon store and customer service then what is the point of 611. read more
