Forcing employees to work on commission reduces customer experience! This is a Verizon owned store and their biggest profit should be based on long term customers paying monthly fees. I purchased an unlocked new phone at BestBuy but they told me I would need to go to a Verizon company store to get a different sized Sim Card to activate it. In Verizon, I handed the box with my new phone in it and asked the guy if he can put a Sim card in it registered to my account. He said, "Sure, but first you need to buy a screen protector and car charger for $80, I will ring you up now." Sight unseen of these products he starts entering in the computer on my account to charge me! (Plastic screen protectors cost about $10 and car chargers cost $12. Don't know how he got to $80?!?!) I politely refused and just wanted the sim card. He hands me my phone back and tells me it is the wrong type of phone and to go back to BestBuy. I insisted it is a CDMA phone which Verizon uses. He walks away to "help" someone else. Back at BestBuy, the manager puts a sim card in my CDMA phone because my carrier refused to do their job. My account is active, but if I can get similar cell service for my CDMA phone for a penny less I will leave Verizon. read more

No complaint about this store BUT the overall customer service at Verizon is the absolute worst I've ever experienced! I made the switch from AT&T to Verizon for "Better" service and coverage.... Ha what a joke! I ported in 3 numbers to take advantage of their holiday promotions..... to make a long story short I've waisted so much time on the phone with Verizon trying to straighten out my plan and billing which they messed up twice! I was greeted by one of the Verizon associates. The wait to be helped was an hour long, which was expected for a Sunday afternoon. I was helped by one of their associates to create my own line. It was supposed to be an "easy" process. After she helped me, I was recommended to call and wait for a Verizon rep to clear something up. Turns out, the process had to be redone. Worst experience ever. We went in Thursday around 12pm with the intention of adding a line to my already existing plan/buying a phone & walked out extremely angry. The staff working on this day clearly should not work in customer service as they had none. First red flag: Not one person greeted us when we came in or offer to check us in. Literally no acknowledge whatsoever. While I understand that at this time they were helping other customers, it's completely unacceptable to not at least say "Hey there, we'll be right with you" or something along those lines. I checked in using the My Verizon App and it said there were 2 people in front of me, no biggie. Second red flag: Three other people came in after us and they were immediately helped and offered to be checked in while me and my fiancé were still being blatantly ignored. Third red flag: Some employees were returning from what I presume lunch break and they decided to have an employee meeting instead of help customers like us who at this point had been waiting for fricken 30 minutes. And lastly, when we were finally helped the guy had an attitude throughout the entire process. Overall it was an awful experience, I much rather drive to another store than have to deal with their pathetic excuse for customer service. read more

Age-old sales tactic - anything to make a sale, even lie. Well, he got me hook, line, and sinker. I asked about the iPhone7+ knowing the demand and that it might take driving around to find one, but was told I could order one (on Wednesday) and it would be at my house on Friday. Here we are on Friday and wouldn't you know it the tracking says it won't be here until Monday. Lied to my face to get a sale. I could have gone to further locations who had them in stock but when i was told 2 days, I figured, not a huge difference; too bad that was a lie and it's going to be 5-6 days. I don't normally leave negative reviews, but because my interaction was with a Manager- maybe this would help the store improve service? I walked in and the manager, Vincent, greeted me at the door and the second I walked in, I was given the impression that he did not want to help me. I've been a Verizon customer for maybe 18 years now and I was just surprised how dismissive and rude the manager was. I was coming in just to ask a few questions and return an old phone- no appointment. I'm not sure what was going on or if he was just having a bad day, but he proceeded to talk over me and overall I was made to feel unwelcome. Only one of about 3 or 4 questions I asked was head addressed- either way that part doesn't really matter. I was just surprised that the manager was outwardly dismissive, and I'm not really the type of person who needs red carpet service or anything. I bought a new phone and accessories today and was told I would need to go home and activate my phone, which I did. I was about halfway through, got stuck, so I called customer service. Literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced, I went trying to grab a new phone because mine was not keeping a charge. It had died, I needed to order it online to be picked up per their no touch policy. I couldn't complete that action because my phone was dead so I asked to charge it inside so I could complete the order the women told me I couldn't sit around. I was trying to BUY a phone, not sit in the store and her know that. She told me I could not come in and sit around once again I told her I needed to buy a phone because my phone will not keep a charge. She told me she could charge it for me but I couldn't sit around. The women was literally yelling at me. They had let other people in to the store so this was not their policy. Plus I had been to INTO Verizon Corporate store in Ventura today, went inside and tried purchase a phone they just didn't have the kind that I wanted. read more

Can't say enough of the great customer service from Fernando and the whole team! We have been with another carrier for over 15 years, went shopping to switch and went to 2 other companies before coming to this store. We were very frustrated when we got to the store and just wanted information on plans, etc. After discussing what we wanted and what had happened at other places earlier in the day, Fernando explained everything to us, told us about my husbands company discount!, well,needless to say we are now a Verizon family and we switched 5 lines over because of the great customer service Fernando gave us. My brother's phone was not working and we needed assistance. We came to this location in hope of getting the help we needed but sadly were treated poorly. The worker, Yvonne was very rude and tried to talk down to us. In the end, she told us, there was nothing she could do. She told us to call customer support and deal with us ourselves. If you're going to work in customer service I would recommend being nicer to customers. No need to speak down and try to make customers feel inferior. read more

I Walked into this location and was immediately greeted by Adrian Arteaga . I explained to Adrian about my situation to see if he could help me out. Adrian quickly had all the solutions to my problems, he is very knowledgeable when it comes to Verizon. His customer service is second to none. Because of him not only does my family have phones and amazing service, but the plan he put us in saved us a tremendous amount of money. The carrier has great phone reception, however..I came to Verizon for their excellent customer service compared to the other wireless providers. I was promised that as a new customer, as an incentive for their prices being so much higher than other providers, waived activation fees for 2 pieces of equipment I purchased once my bill came. My bill came and I contacted the person who promised me the deal and she took so long to tend to the bill that the bill is registered as late. Once I got her to start to do what she had promised she only did half of that. 2 activation fees were $70 total and only one fee was waived at $30. Now she will not return my contacts. Overpriced and fake. One of the pieces of equipment doesn't even operate the way it should and they won't return or allow me to upgrade so I'm stuck paying an extra $30 a month for a contract that doesn't operate on their end. Do not purchase the ellipsis hotspot. That's my experience with them so far. read more

Today I went in to the Verizon located in the Collection of Oxnard for help trouble shooting issues I was having with my iPhone. Ali was the attendant who assisted me. I told him about the issue I was having with my phone and the inability to send and receive text messages, which is a very important function needed for my work. He was very interruptive and would not let me finish describing my problem before telling me there was no issue with the phone. He determined there was no issue after one simple message was sent and received. Of course the problem is inconsistent, but occurs often. I proceeded to tell him that I had visited the Verizon store before with the same issue and tried discussing the actions that were taken to help me and what was recommended if the problem persisted, but nothing was working. Ali was so dismissive the entire time and insisted there was nothing that could be done to help me. I was so irritated at his attitude towards me and making me feel like I was an inconvenience to his seemingly slow and relaxed Tuesday evening, that I left and went to another store. Luckily at my 2nd Verizon store I met an associate, Bernard at Ventura Verizon, who was extremely knowledgeable and advised the next steps I should try for my phone. Wow, I just stopped in to ask a question on my account and Scott offered his assistance right away. In less than 20 mins he answered all of my questions. I did not feel pressure of a Sales person helping me out. He was in no rush even though they where closing in 14 mins. Great service Scott and thanks a lot for helping me out. I upgraded to a Samsung Note 7 recently. When the news broke about the recall, I went to this store for advice. Their first response was to keep my Note 7, the recall was voluntarily and my phone was safe. After more news reports of the Note 7 exploding and urgent recommendations from Samsung and Verizon to return my device, I went back to this store. At first, the manager seemed to be uninformed as to the Verizon corporate policy concerning the recall. After contacting Verizon customer service, I was told that this store was now aware of what needed to happen for me to return my device. When I talked to the manager again, he complained about my calling Verizon about this issue. When I explained my concerns to the manager, he gave me the impression that he did not take this issue seriously. I do not recommend doing business at this location. read more

While the staff is well mannered, they didn't do much to fix my problem. I came in because I was having trouble with a tablet I got and was grossly misinformed in the process for fixing/replacing my tablet and two weeks later when we finally were fed up with waiting and calling corporate, we came into the store only to find out that the girl who had helped us give us completely wrong information and they really can't do anything to help us. We have to send it in to the manufacturer, and wait another three weeks before we get our tablet back. read more

Been with Verizon for years now & loyal to their Camarillo store in the target shopping center. Yesterday I come to learn that store is now closed down. So my closest choice was the Verizon store at the collection. Was there for no more than 11 minutes & was the WORST customer service experience ever. We got there to be stopped at the door by the security guard. Asking if we had an appointment. We answered no, the Verizon website did not state it was by appointment only. He asked us to stand outside and wait for a representative. It was around 7:30pm. Store was empty except for two people that were being helped inside. The security guard pulled out his cell phone and was texting. He asked us what we were there for? We told him we wanted to add another line. He relayed that into his text. He was texting the representative inside the store. He proceeded to comment "that's not a quick thing to do, it takes some time & we close at 8". My jaw dropped. My boyfriend & I knew they didn't want to help us & that they weren't. They kept us outside, until literally 5 min before closing. Then a woman walked out & bluntly said, were about to close, I won't be able to help you today. I can make you an appointment for tomorrow. We questioned her and the security as to why they kept us waiting if they knew weren't planning on assisting us the minute we got there? Mind you she never asked the nature of our business. How did she know how long it would take. Because her and the security were communicating via text and stalling us outside until literally 5 minutes before closing. She immediately had a rude and negative attitude and when I asked her name she turned around and walked back in to the store. Security guard followed. Dumbfounded! I couldn't believe the reviews on this location. After my experience I don't understand why Verizon is not doing anything about it. Visiting AT&T today maybe they will give me a better experience to review. read more

Sometimes Verizon stores are so corporate that they make no effort to go out of their way to offer stellar service. This wasn't the case today. My daughter and I come into the store to upgrade her phone. We were immediately greeted by Joshua and checked in. He told us there were a couple people ahead of us that it would just be a few minutes. It looks like there were a lot of people in the store and I thought it would be a long wait. But like he said, it was only a few minutes. The store itself is very nice but I wanted to write this review about Joshua because he was the one that helped us. He was so great. He asked my daughter specific questions in order to help her pick the perfect phone. We never felt like he was trying to sell us on things we didn't want or sell us the most expensive thing. I feel he was honest and making sure she was going to be happy. I can't thank him enough for making the upgrade process so easy. Version stores need more employees like Joshua. I will be coming back to this store in the future because of him. read more

I visited the Verizon Store in the Collection Mall in Oxnard to make an account change and upgrade my phone. The account change proved to be challenging and required me to call the corporate Verizon customer service line. The corporate CS person was extremely professional, empathetic and overall helpful. She fixed all of our issues and directly communicated them to the Verizon Store. Going to the Verizon Store was a great experience due to the salesman Fernando. He set me up with the right phone, got my account change handled and got me a great trade in amount for my old phone. He was very patient when I ended up locked out of my current phone and had to reconfigure my icloud account passwords because Apple is idiotic. The only negative is that it seems the process that is involved on the corporate level to sell and service cell phones is engineered to be as cumbersome and complicated as they possibly could make it for their employees. I would never have the patience to deal with such an overtly complicated system. If you want a great customer service experience for a process that is painfully complicated, then I would highly recommend the Verizon Store in the Collection Mall in Oxnard. I came in to upgrade my phone and walked away with a smaller monthly phone bill and a two JBL Flip 3 speakers. Memo was very informative with the deals he would offer, no fine print no gimmicks. Went to this Verizon store today as I had been having issues completing an order for a new phone online and over the phone. I had already been on phone call with customer support for hours and told it was an issue with their system and assured me that my only option was to go to this store that had the phone I wanted in stock and where I was to pick up the phone once my order could be completed.They assured me that because it was an issue on their part that my order could not be completed that I could quickly be assisted at this store and complete my payment there. I went and the girl who opened the door for me to ask what I needed said she could not help. That she didn't know what Verizon customer support was thinking in referring me to them for this issue. She said that regardless of the reason or circumstance and regardless of what Verizon customer support assured me They would not be assisting me at that store. I even asked if I could just redo the order with them and she said absolutely not, and reiterated that under no circumstances would they assist me with my phone order. I understand their is limitations due to covid, but if you can't help customers with account problems and order issues caused by Verizon and referred by Verizon customer support then why are you guys even open? She then gave me a number for IT that was not even a functioning number. I called customer support once again and they were also confused as to why this store refused to assist me as the issue had been documented. Very annoyed with the lack of customer service skills this store has. I still have not been able to upgrade my phone and now will have to switch to new providers who can actually assist customers. read more

So weird!! One of largest Verizon stores I have ever been to but...they make you wait for an avail rep to escort you and STAY with you in the store. Cant browse and shop without an escort as though I was going to cut the anti theft cords and run away with a phone. NO THANKS.
