I bought a Canon photo printer on sale and lucky for me Best Buy had extended its return policy until after the holidays. I was thrilled that I saved my receipt and ended up buying the protection plan after all, at a good price! Phew! What a relief! Isabel at the return station was polite and easy going. I just left this store and I am completely amazed at the horrible customer service. Nobody wants to help you and all they do is point you to someone else that will just point you to someone else. All I wanted was someone to install a $42 dollar screen shield. I went to one man and asked if he knew someone to do it. He was not helpful. So I walked away. Then when I asked to speak the manager, he was the man that came over. I told him that I was extremely dissatisfied with their customer service. Then when I walked away, he said he is trying to help me.... Why didn't he "help" me from the get go???? There are a lot of blue shirts around doing nothing. Too bad. I used to love Best Buy. This review is for the Geek Squad computer service. I cannot recommend this team enough. We were here over the weekend to troubleshoot my wife's computer. Thanks to Alexis, the problem was identified and corrected in minutes. They provide a 20 minute window to identify and resolve issues in the store. For extended work, they will take your computer for 48-72 hours. Fees are clear and upfront. Very reasonable I might add. Strongly recommend you make an appointment. When my refrigerator stopped working a few weeks ago, I went to Best Buy in Oxnard to purchase a new refrigerator and a new dishwasher since my dishwasher had recently stopped working as well. I arrived with measurements and photos of the spaces where the appliances would be installed. The salesman didn't pay attention to the measurements provided because although he sold me Bosch appliances which were to be delivered the following week, upon delivery, neither one fit in my kitchen. I emailed the salesman no less than four times but did not receive a call or an email to follow up. (I would have called him directly but the business card he gave me doesn't have a phone number on it and when I called the store they said they couldn't connect me to the appliance department.) Needless to say I cancelled both orders and went to a different appliance store to order my new appliances. I purchased my new washer and dryer at Best Buy a couple of years ago and had a great experience at that time. I'm sorry to say their customer service is now horrible. I am extremely disappointed with Best Buy's rigid 15-day return policy and complete lack of flexibility. I purchased a keyboard and mouse set, only to find after using it that it was very uncomfortable and not a good fit. Unfortunately, when I went to return it, I was told I was one week past the 15-day window and that absolutely nothing could be done. The reason I was unable to return it sooner was because our family experienced a tragic death the week prior. We had to fly out the following weekend for the funeral, and the entire week was consumed with grief, planning, and travel. Returning a keyboard understandably wasn't at the top of the list during that time. What's most disappointing is that the store staff were completely unwilling to show any understanding or offer any type of solution--no store credit, no exception, nothing. For a major retailer, I would expect at least some level of customer service or compassion in situations like this. The lack of flexibility and unwillingness to help loyal customers is frustrating and frankly ridiculous. Because of this experience, I'll think twice before purchasing from Best Buy again. read more

We've made several purchases here at this location. The staff is always friendly and helpful. When we bought our MacBook Air the young man who helped us encouraged us to buy the yearly membership/protection-coverage (My Best Buy Total) because it covers everything we buy year round. He did not mention there's a deductible with the Apple Products i.e. we cracked the screen on our laptop and brought it in for repair come to find out we have a $99 + ($108) ok fine...we went ahead with the repair, they shipped it to Oklahoma to their Apple repair people. Another issue, we had was the GeekSquad guy forgot to tell us to turn off the "find my device" setting first... so the repair people could not proceed with the work without us going online to turn it off remotely. My husband and I were not comfortable with this and had them return it. Through this membership we automatically have Apple care and have the option to take it to a local Apple Store where it probably would be fixed in just a few days and that's what we will do. These Best Buy employees who helped us were helpful however they're young and could use more training. Their lack of knowledge of the "My Best Buy Total" upon the sale definitely came around full circle with some surprises. Still we really like shopping at Best Buy and recommend this location. read more

Four months ago (5/2025) I purchased a 77" LG TV. This cost me $3,400.00. I was having problems with re-connecting the HDMI cables. I am not very good at electronics, so I called for support. After explaining my problem, I was told that service would cost me $124, which I was fine with. After being put on hold for a few minutes, I was then told that they could not assist me, and I would need to contact LG for the service. Totally ridiculous - I am done with Best Buy! read more

16 days ago we purchased a coffee maker (Bella Pro 12 cup). Nothing Fancy, but only $30, and really all we needed. Yesterday, it started spewing over, spilling coffee back into the water receptacle and all over the counter. Maybe it wasn't seated right, I don't know, but the water shorted out the coffee maker and it stopped working all together. We dried it out over the day and night hoping it would turn on the next morning. It didn't. The panel was fried. Since we only had it less than a month we thought for sure Best Buy would take it back. But because it was over the 2 week period by TWO DAYS, my husband was told there was nothing they could do about it. I bought a washer and dryer with delivery and installation included. Thankfully, I wasn't charged for the installation, because the company they partnered with for that service was terrible. The first time they came to our place, they couldn't install the appliances because we needed to replace our valves. I went in and asked about a car radio that had Apple play, back up camera and everything I needed for them to install. I was sold everything they suggested and it was shipped to my house. I show up to their install area and was told I needed more items and Apple play wouldn't work without the usb connected. The car has a couple of them now that hook up to the factory radio. I was sold adapters to make it work. Then I was told they sold me the wrong antenna adapter. I was told I could buy a higher price head unit to get what I wanted. walked into the store and returned everything. When I did try to call last week I was transferred to a call canter that isn't around here, couldn't talk to anyone in the store. I bought the 77 inch Samsung TV less than a year ago. I have had to replace the box for sound already and the TV has been out for a week or more. This is a 6,000 dollar purchase. Where do I start? I wanted to buy a Samsung watch today, and I left there disgusted with the experience my wife and I had. We walked out never to return again. We were directed to the mobile phone area after telling the person who greeted us in the front what we needed. Once we got to the mobile area, the person working behind the desk was on their personal cell and didn't look up. I had to move a chair to show them we were there. He ended up telling us that it's not him, it's someone else who needed to help me. Once I told Juan, what I needed and to see the open box selections, he couldn't find the one we wanted or didn't seem to know where to find it...so some time wasted. I ended up telling him to show me a new one instead. On the BEST BUY website, for a new Samsung Ultra titanium watch, there is a promo for a new Samsung galaxy watch band with purchase. Juan told me that promo doesnt work and it's probably "expired " and shouldn't be there. However, if you have it displayed, you should honor it. He asked his manager, who never came by, and manager told him to show me another promo for another product that did work, which had nothing to do with my purchase. I wanted to leave with a watch and wanted the promo honored, however, with the lack of client experience and knowledge and honestly not a care from the manager, we walked out. We saw so many employees talking to each other instead of helping out the clients in the line. The lack of urgency was incredible. Best Buy is not the same. I just walked in looking for a 65 inch tv and no one was in the back so I walked up to the front and asked for help. A lady that was on her phone told me there were lots of ppl in the back and I told her I was just there. Not one person. So she went back with me but was very standoffish and arrogant like she was annoyed she had to help me. The worst and careless customer service I ever had. I wish that there were an option with 0 star. I bought a Sony camera with a protection plan from Best Buy. My camera makes loud noise when the lens zoom in and out. Recently the noise is getting louder and louder. Therefore, i sent it with my original and perfect Sony box to Geek at Oxnard store to fix. Because geek is not able to fix it , they had to sent it back to Sony for repair . Today they called me that Sony was not able to reproduce the problem and the camera sent back to the store. I can pick it up. They brought out my camera with a damaged box. You can tell that they shipped without a shipping box. The original box completely destroyed . The camera is really fragile. I don't believe that they did this to my camera. They even told me my camera is ok and doesn't get damaged. It is ok to do this. They don't protect customer property well. Best Buy Let Down! I can't believe that I wasted almost one hour texting to AI generated "Answering" and got nowhere. With MS ending support for Microsoft 10 operating systems, my Dell computer is rendered worthless, and in-fact for the past week, has now got a boot-up error of some sort, and I get a Blue Screen that states the computer is saving everything and will reboot. Trouble is it save 55%, stops and doesn't reboot, so a hard reboot must be done. So, I order a computer from Best Buy (after earlier in the month ordering a Security Camera system for my house) and a docking station, and Microsoft Office. On-line stated that the computer would be shipped, I would have to pick-up the docking station, and I would get MS Office by electronic means. Today, they delivered the computer to an old address of over 5 years ago, instead of the one they had on file from earlier this month! So, I called a Best Buy number, and the nightmare began! After answering questions and texting for almost an hour, I got frustrated and texted - "Just Call Me", and the response was We can only text we can't call out! Meanwhile AI couldn't distinguish between the Security system and the computer order and wanted to change the scheduled install date of the security system! It could not understand that they delivered the computer to the wrong address! I finally gave up, and called the local store, which by the way was routed to a call answering section of Best Buy. Now I am waiting 24-48 hours for them to call me back to let me know why my computer was delivered to the wrong address, and why if it required a signature was it delivered! When I went to pick-up the docking station, they asked me for my ID, then handed me the docking station. I wanted to find out if the store could do anything about the wrong delivery and the representative just turned and walked away, she did not even care that I had a problem with the delivery. I even pay a fee for Geek Squad assistance (which they have changed what that even pays for(?))! I am not even sure why I couldn't have just picked up the Laptop Computer from the store (as they had 2 in stock) the same time I picked up the docking station?! WOW! read more

Tl;Dr - make sure people have knowledge about the department they're working, or at the very least can get someone who can answer questions they cannot. I went in to get some RAM to upgrade my PC. I did some research ahead of time so I knew the basics of what I needed, but I had a few questions. I found an employee in that section and asked him if he could help me with RAM. he took me over to that aisle and then when I had questions, he said he had no idea. I asked if there was anyone knowledgeable who might be able to help me, he again said he had no idea. So I thanked him then proceeded to sit in the floor doing research on my phone for a good 10 minutes during which time no other employees offered to help me. I made a decision and took it up to pay. I was still unsure if I was getting the right thing... Thankfully when I asked my cashier about a slightly cheaper product, he knew the right question to ask and stopped my from getting something incompatible with my mother board! He then answered all the remaining questions I had, even looking up answers to what he wasn't completely sure of. I'm very thankful the cashier at least knew what he was doing! This review is long overdue. The Oxnard store has a very poorly trained manager named Charley who is not only rude but also has horrible customer service. My husband and I were in the store on November 17, 2024, and purchased the Sony - 85" Class BRAVIA 9 Mini LED QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV (2024). We returned a day later to cancel that order and purchased the TCL - 98" Class QM8-Series 4K UHD HDR QD-Mini LED Smart Google TV (2024). Once we had the TCL mounted, we realized the quality wasn't worth the $3,923.99 that we had paid. We went back to the store a couple weeks after that to return the TCL and purchase the Samsung - 98" Class Q80C QLED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV (2023). We had a young lady help us who was chomping down on gum the whole time, she then called for Charley to come over to help us. Prior to that, she was speaking to who I assume was Charley over her earpiece and laughing the whole time. We explained to Charley that we weren't happy with the TCL and wanted to purchase the Samsung. Charley proceeded to tell us that we had already returned 4-5 televisions, and we weren't allowed to return the TCL in the store. He also mentioned that we were told by another manager that we weren't allowed to return the television. Both statements were 100% false. The Sony purchase was cancelled the day after (we never had possession of that television) and the TCL was returned a couple weeks after purchase and within the return policy. We also did not ever speak to another manager and was never told we couldn't return the television. When I asked Charley to show me which 4-5 televisions, we supposedly returned he wouldn't. He flat out lied, and this is coming from a manager. We called the 800 Best Buy number and within 20 minutes we had our new television ordered and the TCL ready for a return. Besides spending $3,999.99 on the Samsung television, we also spent $327.72 on other items on November 23rd and signed up and paid for the monthly Best Buy Protection Plan. We will never shop at Best Buy again. Best Buy needs to spend more money and time training these employees. read more

This store does not honor trade in estimates made online. Best Buy emails me daily urging me to take in my MacBook Pro to trade in for a $1235 but when I go they lowball me with $750. Nowhere in the email does it mention the value could change. In fact my MacBook is in great condition. Practically brand new according to the Best Buy trade in evaluators. When I show them the email they ignored it and claim they can't go against there system, the very same system that emails me daily telling me I need to rush into a store and get the full value of $1235 before the deal expires. I plan to return the new MacBook I purchased to Best Buy since they reneged on their offer. I'll then take my business elsewhere and repurchase that same MacBook.
