I'm just not a fan of shopping at Costco! Some love it! Me? No. It's always a challenge getting from one point of the store to another but they definitely have everything played out well. And there's always an associate around to help. Today's field trip was for meat! We came for a Ribeye Roll (to cut our own steaks) and the options were plentiful! AND!! BIG Shout out to Emilio!! He's the man to talk to all things meat!! He was very helpful! Super nice guy and a great sense of humor! Thank you! Today we took advantage of the self check out especially because we only had like 4 items. The man overseeing was very kind and helpful... A quick and painless experience Getting out is always a bit of a challenge as the lines get long and everyone is always in such a hurry, quick to cut in front of you! No mercy! Stopped here as a pit stop to buy gas and to eat a hot dog. The store seems dated and there wasn't much of a beauty section, like some of the other locations. I did find popcorn and freezer pops on sale. Also got another item which was on clearance. They're off the 101 freeway, which is convenient. read more

I always get gas at Costco. It's always the cheapest in my neighborhood. My friends say that Costco's gas is 10% ethanol, but even so, I get rewards, and it's the best deal for me. The gas station is always crowded, but if you go just before closing time, there's no wait at all, so I sometimes go at night just to fill up on gas. Other things I always buy at Costco are organic eggs, oat milk, oatmeal, apples and avocados, and frozen edamame. As a Japanese person, I love edamame, and Costco's is organic, comes in large quantities, is easy to cook, delicious, and inexpensive. Kirkland's Greek yogurt is also inexpensive and delicious. I always eat it with honey. For someone living alone, Costco's large-capacity products can be difficult to consume, but if you choose items that keep well or are frozen, they become very affordable, so I select and use those accordingly. A new Costco is currently under construction in Camarillo, so I'm hoping that once it opens, Oxnard will have a bit more space available. read more

Been coming to this location for 25+ years and have recently been utilizing their tire center to buy for tires and a new battery. Just went in today to the tire center to get my battery core refund and the customer service employee "POI" began to assist me. He scanned my membership card and asked if I wanted the $15.00 core fee back. I presented the used battery along with the receipt from the new battery two days prior. Keep in mind, I was the only customer in the store, when all of a sudden two customers walk in and POI asks, "do either of you have an appointment?" Both customers said yes and he told them to move in front of me and they would be helped first as a priority. I would like for Costco to explain why the employee while currently assisting me with a seemingly simple transaction, would stop helping me and take two customers that walked in after me? Yes I'm an executive member and I don't expect special treatments from that but my feeling is when you are being helped and then brushed aside for some other customer that potentially arrived early, late, or on time gets prioritized when I was not only there first in line but halfway through the interaction. Every Costco is a little different, and this one is a pretty terrific one. For starters, there is a good car wash, and it is quite inexpensive. The employee at the front ensures efficiency with lines, and when it's busy, they put an extra person at the payment kiosks. There is ample parking, obviating the need to circle in hopes that someone will pull out. I've never had a problem finding a spot, even during peak weekend shopping times. The selection is excellent. They are constantly restocking. Products rotate regularly to ensure fresh variety. The produce is excellent. Meats are high quality. Lines can be a little long, but they move quickly. The self checkout is also an option for those with fewer items. read more

**TIRE SHOP REVIEW** Saturday around 4:45pm, I was driving home when I got an alert for low PSI on my rear left tire. Nearly all the tire shops around me were closing at 5, with none of them open on Sunday. Thankfully, I checked Costco tire and they were open till 6. I stopped by and asked one of their guys to inflate my tire so I can make it to my local shop on Monday. Alejandro was quick to help and check the tire, where he found a nail causing a slow leak. He let me know they were open on Sundays, and set me up for a 1pm appointment, clutch! Sunday comes and I drop the car off, and enjoy a Costco Hot dog while waiting. After an hour, I go back to the shop to check my car's status, and Alejandro lets me know that their team found a small SECOND nail on my tire. He reassured me that they would quickly patch that up as well, and it would be ready soon. Fifteen minutes later, I was back on the road for ONLY $19. Car has been driving smoothly so far and my tire is looking healthy! I can't even count how many shops would've tried to upsell me a whole new tire, or set of 2, for what was only a $19 repair. Anyway, came in with my mother in law to reactivate and we go to the help desk/customer service desk, I cannot remember her name but it starts with a 'z' well she is so rude, 100% she could never be employed at any of our businesses, she may as well say : you're effin bugging me wtf do you want ? She needs a lot of training on how to speak to customers/ or don't bring your personal life to work. She grabbed my id out of my hand lol , I was so upset I just started treating her the same and grabbed my id back like a jerk. Spoke to her the way she spoke to us, in the end she didn't say Ty , bye, nothing , she simply turned around and stepped away with a roll in her eyes. I'm always impressed by Costco in CA this one in Oxnard is huge and has a large variety of products as well as Wines and beers! Wish we had this option in Central PA. Their meats and poultry also offer a better selection especially their seafood! My new photos do not include pet food updates but this time I included meat prices, milk, household items, etc. I labeled the photos with captions to indicate the month and year. I have consistently found the staff to be highly efficient, polite, and helpful. Costco serves a large number of people daily. This store in particular impresses me with their organization and should be a model for other stores. ****** My executive membership pays for itself many times over just based on any one of the three items i purchase: gasoline, hearing aids, and eye glasses. The additional savings on other areas is a bonus. ****** The range of products is great and I like the opportunity to test new and ongoing products. On most items, cost per item is lower than other local grocery store or home goods store. I have not found the price on soda cans to be as cost effective as there are other other sales. I purchase food--prepared, frozen, jarred, packaged, and canned; home goods;, over the counter medicine, and clothing. ****** I use both optical and hearing services at this site. Both have highly professional, helpful, and efficient staff and I am pleased with both my highly cost-effective glasses and hearing aids. ****** I am pleased with the prepayment kiosk self-service registers available for the take away orders. It has made the lines faster. The employees in this area work as quickly and efficiently as one can in a small space. The pizza pick-up needs a bit of tweaking as I have waited 30 to 60 minutes beyond the time for pick-up and the area for pizza pick up can be very crowded. I surmise that more pizza ovens are needed. The staff keep their cool when customers get upset at them for having to wait. If I want extra fast pizza, i could go elsewhere for many times the price. I'm more patient when I know I'm getting a giant whole pizza for $9.95! I miss the sauerkraut for the hot dogs, which was available pre-pandemic, though the onions are a good substitute. (Just ask at the window when you pick up your food.) The plastic tops for the soda cups could be stronger and i wish them to better contain my beverage and not leak. I solve this by bringing a 16-20 oz thermos for the soda/iced tea that I purchase, and use the provided cup for crushed ice. The newer chocolate chip cookies are so delicious. I just have to remember that the serving size should be one quarter or less of the cookie. ****** I purchase all of the gasoline for our cars here. While there are often lines, they generally do move quickly. You just need to avoid going into a line with trucks or RV with extra large gas tanks and don't forget your receipt if you purchase a car wash. ****** I have found the store clean, especially considering samples are provided. It is always organized and the employees consistently know where items are located. I am impressed by the employees who keep the clothes folded and stacked neatly by size. ****** Writing about samples, i also want to note the extra-sweet and kind older women who provide them. I feel like I'm being served by a person who really wants me to like what is being sampled. To everyone: please say thank you as you pick up your samples. I have noticed that many/most people do not. Imagine what it would feel like if you had their job. Kindness costs nothing. ****** I am very appreciative of everything about this store other than having to pay the higher Oxnard city tax, which is not under the store's control. I had a mediocre experience here at this Costco location today. I entered the store with a dry greeting from a worker, as I walked through the aisles I came across a lady that was serving a sample of a beef stick. The lady, Brandy was extremely disrespectful to my dad who is explicitly fluent in Spanish. Brandy scolded my grandpa for politely asking if she could put the other samples that she had already divided so the customers can sample them. Instead, Brandy was too busy having a conversation with another individual, who was also scolding her for saying that the ingredients were healthy in the beef stick when it actually was not. Phillipe from the eyewear department is awesome! My glasses snapped in half earlier today while I was cleaning them, tragic I know. When I got off work I came over immediately to get a new pair of glasses. Not only did I get two new pairs, I got a refund on the ones that broke, he helped me pick my new pairs, adjusted my old back-up pair of glasses (had for emergencies incase my everyday pair broke) AND he stayed past his shift to complete his service with me. What a great idea, to take few minutes to thank the businesses and especially the employees that contribute so much to our daily lives. I want to say Thank You to the wonderful people at Costco Pharmacy. At every position they have absolutely terrific people. From the employees working the windows where you drop off your prescription, to the cashiers when you pay at the front counter, to the Pharmacist available for consultation when you pick up new medication, they all are uniformly courteous and remarkably efficient. Let me give you an example of how efficient they are. On my last visit there was a ridiculously long line of people ahead of me. It was super long, like three, maybe four people. I was like, oh dear lord this is going to take like forever. I got in line and got took out my phone so I could send my wife a whiny text about being stuck in this crazy long line. But as I was taking the phone out of my pocket, the line moved forward. By the time I put in my password and opened the message app, it moved forward again. By the time I got the text typed in, I was next in line. Costco efficiency forced to backspace out that whole text. This is a very convenient place to get your prescriptions filled. Unlike regular pharmacies, Costco pharmacy doesn't make you wait unnecessarily. They also have all sorts of vaccinations available here, including flu vaccines. Pro tip: you can save yourself a hell of a lot of time by visiting the Costco Pharmacy website and filling out the necessary paperwork ahead of time Refilling prescriptions here is very easy using their phone system. The automated system tells you what time your refill will be ready for pick up. When prescriptions have no refills left they will inform you and ask if you want the pharmacist to contact your doctor. Here is another example of their efficiency, they contact your doctor as soon as they get your request. Don't even trip. If they say they are on it, they are on it. You will get your medications as soon as they get your doctor's authorization. When you have a recurring prescription, the automated phone system will text you and tell you it's time for a refill. You can choose to refill or not, depending on your actual need. I like all the great people that work at Costco Pharmacy. I like the convenience of their automated phone system. But the feature of Costco Pharmacy I dig the most are their low prescription prices. The prices for some prescriptions here are so low it's almost unbelievable I picked up a prescription recently and had my Costco credit card out ready to pay. The cashier says, that will be $2.11 I was incredulous. I put the plastic away and gave the girl a $5 bill. The change I got back was enough for a hot dog combo at the Costco Food Court. I created this Yelp page because this department of Costco has different hours than the main store. And also because I'm a big fan of the wonderful people that work in this department and appreciative of the job they do. Don't bother calling in your order to the food court. They still make you wait in line if there are people waiting who didn't order in. Completely stupid. They ask your name and when you arrive to get your pizza they put your name down at that very moment. Waited a total of 1 hour for my pizza that should have been ready for me in 20 mins! I know Costco parking and inside the store is super crowded no matter what time you go, but Costco is awesome! The store sells items in bulk for low prices. I was skeptical buying membership to Costco because I didn't think it would be worth it for a small family. But even as a household of one, you'll benefit from Costco through it's savings on toilet paper, paper towels, pet food, $5 rotisserie chicken, alcohol, detergent, clothes, cheap gas, and more. My boyfriend (now husband) even took me here as a lunch date to fill up on the sample foods. I feel conflicted deciding whether to feel good that he was frugal or maybe I was just a cheap date?! But the samples were delicious and filling. Anyway, Costco membership is also good for the vision center, which has glasses and contacts for a discount. You can also use it on costcotravel.com for discount vacations and rental cars. I've used the Costco membership to lock in rental car prices before and it's much cheaper than the rental car's actual site prices. I believe you can also save on home and auto insurance, too! What I like about this location is that they have a self checkout area! So I can grab a few items or, like I've grabbed a rotisserie chicken, and then made my way to the self checkout, which is usually not very long. Although none of the lines take super, super long cause the cashiers are very fast and efficient even with people and their carts filled with tons of items. Everyone who works here is very friendly. I don't think I've ever encountered anyone rude seeming, although I'm sure it must get crazy with the tons of people coming in and out daily. I'm sure there are a ton more Costco amenities I'm missing out on, so please feel free to let me know. And for those of you without a costco membership, simply try it out for one year and see how you like it. You won't be disappointed. FYI: You must now have a Costco membership to buy food at the Costco food court! The hot dog/drink combo is $1.50, a slice of pizza is about $1.99, you can buy an entire Costco pizza for $10, and my favorite is the chicken bake for $2.99 (I think). That is dangerously delicious! After weeks of working with Costcos "claim" center and providing proof of damages, of course they would deny my claim! I wanted to hold off my review before getting the claims center final decision, but I should have already known they would deny it. I've been shopping at Costco for years, been a loyal customer, and this is how we're treated! I purchased a new set of tires for $800 and in return, I got 3 out of my 4 rims damaged by the tire center. What did they do, put the wheel facing down and then dragged the rims?! I understand maybe one rim would be okay, but man, three rims and the damages spread out everywhere! On top of that, how do you get puncture marks on the rim?! If you can't handle the physical demand of the job and pick up a rim, then that job isn't for you. How does the claim center justify a denial when the employee took only four FAR away pictures and I provided several and close ups?! What a joke of a claim process! Costco likes to take your money and not admit when they are at fault! Don't use the tire center or the car wash if you want a damaged car and pay out extra for repairs! read more

Very disappointing experience. The cashier Cristina was extremely rude to my mom and family members for absolutely no reason. They were being polite and simply trying to check out, yet she spoke to them with a very disrespectful attitude. Customer service clearly isn't a priority here if employees feel comfortable treating people this way. On a balmy overcast day, I quickly searched for the closest Costco in Camarillo. It was either Oxnard or Simi Valley; both being equidistant. I was pleasantly surprised to see the gas station has 3 pumps per lane, with lights telling you which is available. It was surprisingly efficient. This place also has a freaking car wash for 7.99! I never have seen a Costco with a car wash in Orange County. It's the longest automated car wash I've been through that even shines your tire to a deep sheen, evenly. I must've timed my visit close to closing time because there wasn't many people close to closing time. Coming from Huntington Beach, 90 miles away, I was happy to see that this Costco which is about to be my new home, almost is similar. The reason this place gets deducted a star is that the aisles are NARROW. There is much difficulty to navigate in the aisle when a cart is stopped in front of you. Worse was the toilet paper stack which is compartmentalized and sequestered in the TIGHTEST of space with NO ROOM for more than 2 carts. Wtheck Costco?! I was in the Oxnard warehouse yesterday and had the nicest experience. As I was waiting for my friend to get the car, I noticed a young man, Sebastian C. who was working the cart area approach an elderly couple who had a cart and flatbed. He asked the couple if they would like assistance getting to their car and offered to bring the carts back. I was so touched by this. It was such a nice gesture. A while later my friend came with the car and he also approached us and offered to load all our items. We were so appreciative and grateful as we had gotten quite a lot of big items. He was just the sweetest young man and so gracious. This young man will go far in life in whatever endeavor he chooses. He has such a caring attitude and such a willingness to help. I come here to bulk up on groceries and even though I spend over $100+ every time in the long run it saves me money.
