Not my favorite Home Goods in Ventura County but still 5 star worthy and honestly due to convenience they are one of the stores I stop in the most. I'm a sucker for home decor and honestly Home Goods always comes in clutch when I'm looking for a more personalized gift. This location is always well stocked and never empty. They have a good assortment and I can usually find coveted special items here that are poplar on Tik tok and such. Not always, but a good amount of the time. This isn't the biggest home goods in the 805 but it'll do. I wish the isles were a little bigger as it can sometimes be hard to navigate this store during high traffic hours BUT I'd rather have more merchandise than larger walking spaces so I make it work. Little random things that do matter are that their bathrooms are clean and they have a large shared parking lot. Staff here are always nice and I appreciate that they always seem to have at least 2-3 cash registers open. Happy to have a Home Goods in Camarillo. read more

As an avid Home Good shopper, I won't tell you which one is the best because I'm not lessening my chances of finding good stuff... but... this one is pretty good. It is smaller than other HG's I've been in and the aisles are wayyyy more narrow but you've still got your shot at good finds. Just remember that you have to be super patient at this one because it gets overly congested. I was soooo lucky to find my color combo here for my new dining room and I'm in love. Denim blue and gold is a little hard to find but COMBINED on the same dishes?! Unheard of (at least from my experience). I bought these immediately and it came out so fantastic. My only gripe is WHY THREE STICKERS?! It's such overkill! This is the thing that always prevents me from buying their kitchen wear. It took me forever to get the stickers off with Goo Gone! So, buyer beware on this. I've broken dishes I've bought from them in the past because the stickers are so tasking to get off. Due to the cuteness of their items, I find I can resell them on marketplace close to what I buy them for, which is nice so I can keep switching up my decor. Bought a pic a few years ago that was $150 and I just sold it for $100. This last trip I found lots of unique holiday faves and I've been super happy with my recent hauls. Long live HG! read more

This is a pretty clean and organized HG store. I went looking for storage options for my studio apartment because you can never have enough storage. Stumbled upon this cute woven storage box that has a hinge top and wheels. I love anything with wheels right now so I can easily move it around without upsetting my downstairs neighbors. Call me a HomeGoods fan, for sure. The Camarillo location has consistently impressed me as one of the better stores in Ventura County. I was looking forward to visiting this HG to shop for a birthday gift for a dear friend. It wasn't the best outing that I've had, so knocking off one star this time. The selection of merchandise, while plentiful, wasn't as inspired as previous visits. I had in mind to find something cute in the garden area. Tis the season for outdoor gardens to shine. Nothing quite inspired me, though I did like the hydrangea-themed items. I wandered the entire store, and finally decided on a tall pitcher with colorful floral design imported from Portugal. The graphics offered very cheerful artwork that seemed really appropriate for a spring birthday celebration. I later filled it with similarly colored fresh flowers. Not what I originally had in mind, but a successful gift emerged. They also had a trio of hand creams infused with honey for that soothing indulgence factor for the birthday girl. They've expanded their party goods area, bursting with cards, gift bags, gift wrap, fancy decorative tissue papers, and much more. This is a no-brainer from the value proposition side of shopping. Savvy shoppers looking for gifts or to snazz up their own home décor can find great deals at HomeGoods. This particular store even has a giant carriage-style outdoor seating piece that would make a Cinderella-like statement in one's yard. What is up with this location? Almost every time I come here, there are messy aisles, several items without price tags, and staff just standing around talking to each other while they have one or two cashiers working a long line. This store has consistently been hit or miss with customer service, cleanliness, and organization. It's time for upper management to conduct drop in visits here. This is bad. Recent examples: I came in during my lunch break and found these two book ends that did not have a price tag (not rare at this location), so I left to go back to work because the line was too long to get a price check. Returned after work and brought them to the check out stand to purchase them. I was greeted with an employee with a lousy attitude by the name of Sam. When I asked her for the price she said "they had one earlier". I informed her that I was there earlier that day and they did not have a price tag on them at that time either. She insisted they had a price tag on them at one point. Really? So I asked her where the price tag would have been on them while I watched her make up a place in her head. She then said "on the bottom". So I showed her the bottom so that she could see that there were no traces of a tag on either one. Then she said "I will have to speak to my staff about putting items without a tag on the floor. Okay... Then she priced them at $24.99 each. I bought them anyway as I liked them so much. Only to return later to see identical ones priced at $16.99 each. It turns out that she's not even a manager, so it's comical that she referred to her co-workers as her staff. Some people do not need to work in service. On another occasion, a customer that had been viewing items on a shelf near an employee accidentally knocked them down to the ground causing several broken dishes. The employee that was there, left the scene and went and straitened another section while talking to another employee. The mess was still there about half hour later with no employee on the scene to clean it up but there were employees standing around at that time. So it's not like there was no one available to address this safety hazard. Another time, while the store was in complete disarray there were two male staff members wearing their HG aprons and name tags standing around chatting (the entire time I was there) about half hour talking about customers and other employees. By the time I got to the check out area, the line was backed all the way to the beginning of the check out area with two employees checking out customers. Those two employees that were off in the distance shooting the breeze could have been checking out staff or cleaning the store. Several months ago: I tried to buy a plant stand with out a price tag on it and when I went to buy it the person checking me out had to confirm the code that was scribbled on the back of it for the price with another employee. At first she quoted me $75 for a simple small black single plant stand. Then she said she had to get permission to sell it, even though it had already been out on the floor. Then the person that came out to approve it, said she could not sell it at that time and said that it appeared to have a missing piece to it and that she needed to find it before she could sell it. So she took my phone number down and said she would call me once they found the other piece to it. It did not look like it had a missing part to it. They never followed up. Nothing about this made any logical sense. THIS STORE IS COMPLETELY UNORGANIZED, AND POORLY MANAGED. read more

Wow. I don't think I've ever been treated so poorly at a retail store. I wandered around for about 15 minutes with no one greeting me or asking if I needed any help. That's fine. the workers are busy, I'm sure, and honestly I don't need to make small talk. But when I did have a question an item I was interested in purchasing, the person I asked was so rude with his response. He didn't even stop what he was doing, to look at the rug I was referring to. It's not like I was asking them to step away from the section they were in; as they were opening packages and throwing the trash directly onto the ground in front of the rug section. Again, I don't expect workers to drop everything to jump at the chance to help me, but a little kindness and respect goes a long way. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. Oh well, saved me about $300 on a rug I'll purchase elsewhere. read more

Yay! Finally opened a HomeGoods on "this side of the grade". This store is a glorified version of their sibling stores Marshall's and TJ Maxx, without the clothing. As the name indicates it focuses on stuff for your home. So... if you're looking for cute kitchenware, furniture, bathroom goods, bedding, wall decor or my favorite seasonal decoration without breaking the bank, you must come and give it a go. Getting a gift? You'll find something perfect for everyone, plus they have wrapping bags, cards and even toys. Score!! Super crowded on opening day ( 9/8/19), so I came back the following day. Still plenty of shoppers but the store was maintained cleaned and organized. Plenty of staff keeping everything in order. Lines moved really fast, too. read more

I love this store, but I don't know if I ever want to go back... Last Friday I went in, I had to use the restroom, ugh I wish I would have just left and gone home... The restroom was GROSS... Thank god I had Lysol wipes in my purse, I had to clean the stall that I was going to use... When done I then had to clean the gross counter to wash my hands... As I was washing my hands another customer was grossed out, I told her what stall I cleaned and she said thank you for doing that and told me that it was noticeable that I cleaned the stall that I cleaned versus the other stalls... Went to Home Goods and got a few items. As we were checking out, I let them lady know my husband had to drop me off at an appointment and he's be right back to purchase a rug we picked out. He comes back 5 minutes later, buys the rug and goes to leave... as he's walking out they say these other 2 people bought the rug we just paid for... confused as all heck, they take the rug from him and ask him if he wants a different one... no thank you! Home decor stores undoubtedly offer a great variety of products at very reasonable prices but that alone is not enough for me to give them more than two stars. I went shopping at the one in Camarillo over the weekend and I have to tell you the service is inferior. First of all the aisles are so damn narrow you cannot pass by another shopper without backing up your cart to the end of the aisle but even more irritating is the checkout line service is terrible. They have 8 check-out stands with 4 that have their lights on for service which would be great except only two actual cashiers were working. At times while customers are waiting in a long line the other checker stopped what she was doing and was busy doing something else other than helping to move that line as quickly as possible. I'm sorry as good as your prices are it's not worth my time to stand in long lines. Btw, this is not the first time, this store needs to be better managed. read more

I frequent at least once a week and have never had issues until today. I don't think I will ever come to this Camarillo location again due to one staff named Zara. I came in for a mirror and found one on clearance that a manager came back to help me carry up to the front, before moving it to the front I asked the manager "is this mirror really only $55?" and he said yeah they've recently been marked down, I even asked, "is it because they're broken or anything?" to which he answered no you still might wanna check them but they're usually old. As I got in line to pay I noticed he went on break, and when I got called up to register one where Zara was working, she right away told me that that was not the price of the mirror. I let her know that her manager that had just walked off had confirmed the price of $55 for me. She argued with me back-and-forth about the price, then asking another manager what to do, to which that manager said she would just let it go, yet Zara was acting like it was going to come out of her own pocket. The fact that she argued with me over a price a manager had confirmed with and confirmed before even caring it forward was baffling to me because it should have been a one to two minute transaction that turned into about 15. Thanks to Zara, I will not return to this location again. Sad seeing as she has other negative reviews, mentioning her name on them. read more

Let me say first that I really enjoy shopping at Homegoods in general; especially in Santa Clarita. I just visited the location in Camarillo and it was horrible. There were a couple of aisles I attempted to walk down but couldn't because they had too much inventory blocking the aisles as well as falling off the shelves. It honestly looked like they took every piece of inventory they had and crammed it onto the shelves and floors. I have never been in a Homegoods this messy and chaotic. Sincerely, I hope a manager reads this posts and organizes the Camarillo store. read more
