Walking in, the first thing I noticed is at the store was very bright and everything seemed to be pretty organized and items are easy to find. Their fitting room in the back was closed. They directed me to the front of the store where there are two self-serve fitting rooms. You are allowed to try on five items at a time. I don't think the employees check these very often as both had a bunch of hangers all over the floor and on the bench. Where they're lacking is their customer service. I had interactions with three different employees, none of which had name tags. One of them had a lanyard with no tag. The other two had nothing. Only reason I knew they worked there was because They were talking to each other next to the cash register. Anyyyywaaaays, I wanted to know if they had a specific product . The first two employees I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about and just looked at me with what I can only describe as a blank stare. They were young so I gave them a pass. The third woman that I spoke with gave me no eye contact whatsoever. She was actually pretty rude to be honest. The only time she looked at me was when I got her attention... As I was asking her a question she immediately looked back down, continuing to put hangers on clothes. It's so rude. I was pretty offended actually .Especially because she was an older woman. I was eventually able to find what I needed. I found some pretty good bargains in the clearance section and overall it was an okay experience today at the thousand oaks Ross.

So slow, that I had to leave the line, ditch my cart full of $100+ of items and walk out in order to be somewhere else on time. I was able to come back later and found my ditched cart still there. I reentered the line and was next customer to pay with one employee working the registered. While I was waiting for someone in front of me making a lengthy return, 7 customers piled up behind me. Coco C. (The coordinator) made eye contact with me and saw me waiting to be rung up. May of us in line were commenting how slow the check out process was as Coco organized shopping carts while a long line formed. 8 customers in line, one active register, and employees who are free to ring people up. In a world where Amazon is king, and online shopping is convenient, why would I waste my time shopping at stores like TJmaxx when the service is horrific. This TJmaxx is losing sales in just its check out process alone.

She gave a quick history of the store and explained how the owner procures items. She was so sweet to ask about our day and share some tips for exploring the area. Items are well organized and clean. There is a fairly large selection of formal wear, kept in individual plastic covers, in the back which I don't see often in vintage boutiques. I found the prices to be a bit on the higher end, but it worked out ok with 20% off regular prices. A lovely skirt came home with me. :)
