The owner, Keith, does an amazing job curating Surroundings with every from vintage clothing, to luxurious bath & skin pampering products to featuring local artists and their pottery, jewelry, and artwork. I came in bc I was passing by, on my way to Rubios, and noticed this cute corner shop. I needed a gift for my grandma who was turning 80. I was in a hurry bc we were late AND I was on a strict budget. I also had my 2 kiddos with me who were a little wild and disheveled (the way kids are supposed to be I guess lol). I expected the person working to likely be annoyed with the kids and snooty to me bc I wasn't able to spend much. HOWEVER this was not the case. Keith was SO kind! He helped me pick TWO gifts based on what I mentioned she liked AND within my budget. And then he wrapped them individually & beautifully! I was blown away. My son and I stopped in to Surroundings yesterday in search of just the right gift for a close friend of his. Our experience was amazing. Keith greeted us in a warm and welcoming way, happy to help us but without pressure. He asked a few questions about my son's friend as well as our price point. With that information, he fluidly presented my son with thoughtful on-point options. It was the very best personal shopping experience ever! My son found exactly the right gifts (he actually chose two of Keith's proposals) as well as two gifts for another friend. The store is beautifully merchandised and the selections are unique and interesting. It was refreshing to be treated so importantly and to accomplish our mission. While we thought we had limited time, we ended up engaging with Keith and thoroughly enjoying him in addition to the store! We will be back and hope others will flock there too.
