Sams Club has lots of great features I enjoy such as self checkout, Scan N Go (on their app), and ordering online via app for their food court. They have a large warehouse in Oxnard with great deals! I also enjoy that they have a larger section of cat products/food compared to other stores. I like how their cafe area is inside and seating is outside for it to not feel very crowded. However, recently I feel as if their fruit section is lacking in quality. Most of their fruit is going bad already in store. I also do wish they had Apple Pay which would be very convenient to have. read more

I am a frequent Costco shopper but also have a Sam's Club membership. Sam's Club carries some things Costco does not carry so I do shop at Sam's once in a while. Checkout great as you scan your items and walk out the door. Super simple and quick. However when it's busy it's still difficult to walk out the door as they don't seem to have enough people helping checkout. Today it was not a problem. Customer service on the other hand is really slow. It took almost 15 minutes to get help and there were only two people in front of me. The representative was really nice and friendly but she was basically alone. Lucky I don't have to return stuff here very often. read more

Don't use Groupon to buy a membership to Sam's Club! You will spend hours trying to claim your voucher and then directed to Sam's website. Then only to find out the link is not working now! Sam's Club is a great alternative to Costco if you don't like huge crowds or lines. There's always plenty of parking and hardly a line at the checkout lanes. I love their self checkout option or scan and go which makes shopping really easy, efficient and convenient. They sell a variety of items just like Costco. I have to say that they have a better selection of ice cream bars, cheaper organic produce, more snack varieties, and fresher/fattier/better tasting meat products. And they do rotate their merchandise and snack options frequently so if there's something you like you should stock up while they still have some in stock. TYPICALLY SHORT LINES AND SELF CHECK-OUT! Well that should get your attention (and it's true!). My favorite Sam's club location, the Oxnard Sam's club is clean, typically well stocked, and has the most helpful, easy to find employees! Carrying most of the same brands as Costco, most items work out to be a penny or so cheaper per unit, but the bulk sizes are a tad smaller, keeping my overall bill a bit lower. The produce department is always stocked with fresh items, their frozen food department offers more items than their competitor and they offer a great variety of fresh baked breads. Their bakery department "takes the cake" (sorry, had to say it) with their value priced selection of custom cakes! From cupcake cakes, to birthday cakes to wedding cakes, there are literally over a hundred choices, and all at incredibly reasonable prices! They offer a huge selection of non-food "catering" products - hotel pans, commercial trays, bar towels, pastry brushes, table covers - just to name a few! Offering great meat at reasonable prices, you can find everything from a 6 oz filet mignon to a full packer brisket, all in choice or prime! I could go on and on, but i don't want to lose you so, a few other highlights include great prices on Bulletproof products and on Zipfizz, great gift card selection and a nice selection of bar-b-ques and smokers! read more

What makes going to Sam's better than Costco is I can scan and go! Unbeatable! Too bad Costco likes to go backwards. Being a Costco shopper for almost a decade and a few bad experiences, Sam's club has equivalent to what Costco has. The rotisserie chicken, eggs, snacks, house hold items, etc. Also, when I show my QR code, the customer service are always nice. People who are stuck in the Costco lifestyle will forever fight the parking, huge wait lines to check out and never accept that the 2 are almost alike. Sams club has some pretty good prices compared to other nearby grocery stores such as Vons. You can get spices, meat, fruits, cheese, etc. for a much better price than other places. Yes, you need to buy in bulk so if you're living alone, it might not be cost effective to buy two pack of orange juice or a big bag of 5 lb shredded cheese unless you plan your meals accordingly. However, the prices are great for what you get. Meals can always be planned accordingly with these portion sizes though. They have a great selection of meats, premade meals, my favorite rotisserie chicken, sushi, frozen meals, etc. There's also a pharmacy, tire service, custom cake service, food court, etc avaliable here. read more

Every time I go to this Sam's Club to buy a baked chicken, they are never ready! I went at 2:00 PM, and they told me it wouldn't be ready for another hour. I tried again at 3:45 PM, and it still wasn't ready for another hour. Today, I went at 4:00 PM, and guess what? They said it wouldn't be ready for another hour again! They really need to have chickens cooking all day so that when they are ready, there isn't a stampede to get one. I attempted to call the meat department four times yesterday to find out when the chickens would be available, but the phone always disconnected right before someone picked up. Great customer service! My family and I have been members of this Sam's Club for three years, and I think I have only managed to get a chicken twice! We are seriously considering switching to Costco, as they always have chickens available throughout the day. read more

Stopped by as my bf is a member. I'm a Costco gal all the way. Their products don't look as good to be honest. Just not as fresh and their brand names food items are not the best, in my opinion. I think Sams Club is great! The prices are really good on everyday supplies that are best purchased in bulk. And what's the last thing you want to do after grocery shopping? Cook. So the café comes in real clutch for lunch or dinner. You can not beat the prices there either. I have the plus, and that's great because I can go earlier hours if I need to. read more

This is our "big box" store of choice. Easy to find parking, mostly always have stuff in stock, lines aren't insane. Their scan and go is by far the best feature though! The staff at the Oxnard location has always been helpful and very kind. My main reason for being down a star is not having gas available. I really wish they did! Even just behind the building. I mean, I obviously don't know all the details of adding a gas station, but if they did that'd be a dream come true! read more

If you want burnt pizza, then go here. I had someone pick up a pizza for me and they were kind enough to do so. But the pizza Sam's Club gave them was burned to the point of being almost inedible. Furthermore, they cut the large pizza into only 5 slices! Any self respecting establishment would have thrown that pizza out and tried again. I used to buy pizzas at Sam's Club years ago and they used to be delicious. I don't know what is going on but the quality is simply not up to par. read more

All I wanted to do was pay for groceries but this employee couldn't let me just leave. She insisted I sign up for a card. I said I wasn't interested. She canceled all of the 50 items I had scanned. And said oops I'll scan them again and signed me up for the credit card and then justified it by saying I will get $30 dollars off. I was juggling a toddler and an infant and said fine I just don't want to sign up if there is an annual fee or if this is a credit card. She said no it's not a credit card, just an upgrade to my membership. I'm new to sams but believed it. When I looked at the receipt, I'd noticed there was no 30 dollar discount like she said there would be. This whole process to 40 mins. Longer then I spent shopping. She would not let me leave and now I'm signed up for a credit card. F this place. If I don't get a discount in the mail in the next 10 days I'm canceling my membership. Fkin crooks read more

So disappointed with the pick-up service here. Never had any trouble ordering fir pick up here until today. I put in an order to be picked up today 8-9 am. I arrived promptly at 8 as I am on my way home after working a 12 hour shift. Apparently they've switched to a different system, so today, instead of my order being ready at 8, it is now 10 minutes to 9 and my order is still "in progress ". Never had any trouble until today. Update: I went back in at 9:15 to check myself because still "in progress ". Talked to a much more pleasant staff member and was assured he would bring it right out. Not blaming the staff, there's only so much they can do but Sam's really needs to make their system better, this is unacceptable. read more

Worst phone customer service. I have a large item return and online it says to call before returning. So I've been calling. And calling. And calling. For a week now. Been hung up on mid transfer, hung up after 20 minute wait, put on hold just to be picked up and started over with another rep in the wrong department. Today I finally gave it my all and waited over an hour on the line. Called back on another line (while still holding) to reach other departments to talk to anyone I could. They kept forwarding me to customer service. Finally I said do not forward me. The guy in auto helped as best he could. While still on the phone with the cust service department it says, "the system cannot give you an estimate wait time because there are no representatives logged in to take your call." So there's NO ONE WORKING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. At 10am-11am. Business hours as stated by Sam's Club. Update: We were told yes we can return. Loaded it in the car, all 300 pounds. Took it in the store just to be told nope we cannot return. Wasn't compensated for anything. Time, gas, wrong information. Cancelled membership. A lot of issues, first we went to get some food after shopping the lady didn't even have her hair net all the way on and was a little rude me and my mom got a slice of pizza, a pretzel, and a berry ice cream cup. She gave us our pretzel and slice of pizza we waited almost 20 minutes for the berry ice cream she also never gave us are drink cup because are slice of pizza was a combo. I don't get the point of having 5 workers and still u have to wait over 20 minutes for 3 things. read more

I have had the best experiences shopping at this Sam's Club location. I can easily order & pay online with their curbside pickup. No errors, no waiting forever for someone to bring it out -- just fast, easy, same day service that has exceeded my expectations. Additionally, the Sam's Club app and the ability to check out & pay on my phone while in the store is a game changer!! Love this feature! No long lines, just scan and go! I love it!! I'd also like to commend the employees at this location. Every time I shop here, employees say hello and ask if I need help finding something. The greeters at the door are very friendly and are always able to tell me what aisle I can find a product in so no wasted time hunting for something!! read more

I prefer Sam's Club over Costco. Sam's is much more superior over Costco b/c Sam's have the Scan and Go features. You can order food at the cafe on your phone. Even paying for gas is much easier with thru the app. If only sams would offer more organic options. read more

A few to weeks ago I went to get somethings and my son wanted a special cut on meat so he asked the guy at the meat department about it .His answer was racist to my son and said "Esta No es Carniceria Mexicana" does it mean that only Mexican meat markets do special cuts. 2 years ago, I moved back to where I grew up. I decided to get a Sam's club membership. I've never had a problem until now. Today when I entered, I realized I forgot my membership card, normally the greeter at the front door will tell you to go to customer service. No big deal I would have just walked there and gotten a copy of my membership card. The front lady with the frizzy hair said I wasn't allowed in the store. I explained that I forgot my Sam's Club card. She said it again that I wasn't allowed in the store. Behind me there was a white lady and she proceeded to tell her she didn't have a card and she needed to go to customer service. The employee said she could go but I wasn't allowed to enter the store. I had to wait until my ex, who is white so I can go in the store with him. By the way, I'm the primary member of the account. As I walked in with him, she rolled her eyes and with a condescending sound, she yelled have a nice day. At this moment I was really upset that I even had to go through that. No one should be disrespected in that matter by anyone. Her poor customer service skills are horrible. I did talk to the manager in charge Elaine. On which she stated that there was a reason why I wasn't allowed. There have been thefts in the store. I have never stolen anything from Sam's Club or even Wal-Mart! What does that have to do with me? Nothing absolutely nothing. I have never been so disrespected in my life. The company doesn't care about customer service. I hope this lady doesn't do this to anyone else. That being said. I will not renew my membership card. What I experienced today at this location was beyond disappointing. Sam's Club is perfect for businesses that need all those item in bulk. From grocery, beverages, home, health & beauty etc. I'm sure you will like the products & the price. I do like Costco, but I like coming here rather than Costco because its less busy here. Lol. Upside of their competition is the outside Cafe, since Sam's Club's Cafe is inside the club. FYI: Plus Members get to shop at 7am. Their store brand is Members Mark. I usually get my bottled water, different beverages, & alcoholic drinks here. Some of the Brands I get are: Members Mark, Dasani, Nestle, Arrowhead, Gatorade, Capri Sun, Juice Boxes, Chocolate Milk etc. Another plus is the self check out. I very much like the Sam's Club in Oxnard, except they have products one week, and the same product isn't available the next week? I thought that maybe it was a "supply chain" problem, but it is Grape Juice, and other common related products. Other than that, they are great, their employee's are friendly and very willing to help. I live 60 miles round trip from the closest Sam's and/or Walmart, so it is very disappointing when I cannot find the products I like on the shelves, do not make weekly runs, not on my schedule. Today with my 86 year old husband went early to store on Rose in Oxnard. After shopping for about one hour and ready to check out was told that my membership did not allow me to check out before 10 am. In these days of Covid 19 and on strict budget, could not afford the more expensive membership so had to leave empty handed, my husband could not stand any more.
