Lost on Thompson Blvd I found Franklins Ace Hardware, Needing nothing, I went in. To my surprise it has EVERYTHING!! I was in awe of how big this little store was! They even have a Garden section! Associate Nick was quick to greet me and show me what I'd missed, the frozen pies!! What!!?? The BBQ dry rubs and marinates!! This place has it all. The staff here was so attentive and friendly it made it easy to shop around. For a female it can be intimidating attempting going to a hardware store. At checkout Sydney helped me sign up for their rewards program, I will definitely be coming back. I'd rather come here than those big wherehouse hardware stores! I made the trek from Camarillo to get B&B brand lump charcoal for my Pit Barrel Cooker. The Ace Hardware in Camarillo doesn't stock it. To my delight, they stocked the full line of B&B products. They are beyond exceptional. I have gone in there, for the most random items, and 20 out of 20 times, they have it. That is the whole TRUTH. I went to Lowe's as we are remodeling the house, just for a little something, I ended up going to Home Depot and two other hardware joints, around the city. nobody had it. I've have gone to ACE on many occasions, I literally live around the corner. I always support our local small business around town from the dry cleaners to pizza place around the shop. BUT this is the place where I have to think twice. EVERY TIME I stop by, and from the minute I step in I'm being: followed and judged like if I'm stealing something! The entire staff (especially the older ones), including the owner will stare at you while waiting in-line to pay for your items, trying to see if you're hiding something underneath the cart. There's times that it feels like their UNDRESSING you to see if your hiding something!!!! VERY UNCOMFORTABLE! One of my many visits I stop by to try and buy a gift for my wife! YETI mug, so I was looking around trying to decide on a color, and from the corner of my eye one of the staff members was peaking, PEAKING thru the isles to see what I was doing! I put the mug back and paid for my other items and left! Yet, they were still trying to "undress me" from their paint booth!! For now on I would rather take a drive to Lowe's or Home Depot, or any place but here!! I try give independent businesses my patronage, good will and trust. Franklin's Ace Hardware has lost mine. I walk four miles daily. I wear a backpack to carry my groceries home. Yesterday, after checking neighboring CVS's selection of phone charging cables, I stopped in Franklin's to see if they carry them-they do. While I was shopping, a clerk young enough to be my grandson requested that I leave my pack behind the front counter, or leave the store. I left the store. I returned after a few minutes to express my growing anger at being mistrusted. The cashier said that it was the owner's instructions to not allow packs in the store. Sergio told me he would report my displeasure to Mike, the owner. I walk past the store almost daily, wearing my pack. It is not my intention to enter again. read more

I have gone to Ace on many occasions. I try to support our local small businesses and will go out of my way to shop here. After today I'm not sure if I will return. The cashier I had was NOT friendly at ALL. She rudely called me up and didn't say hi or how are you, she didn't even crack a smile. No eye contact, didn't ask if I had an Ace card, rolled her eyes at the customer next to me who was having issues with his card reading on the terminal no thank you at the end of my transaction. I understand that people have bad days but if you're working with the public at least say hi to your customer that's 2 feet in front of you. I looked at my receipt and the name on it is Andria. Terrible follow-through. I ordered a BBQ on-line on 13 Jun for my son's Father's Day. I asked for it to be assembled. I called Franklin's the next day to confirm the order was in the system. Called again on Wednesday to confirm delivery on Friday. I receive a call from XPO Logistics on Thursday to ask/confirm delivery on Friday. Yes - my daughter-in-law will be there to receive it. I then receive a call on Friday at 3:00 pm that she wasn't answering and that it would be delivered on Monday - too late to course correct. It arrived - UNASSEMBLED!!! Due to the arrival of a second baby, (mainly my wife and I decided to paint our third bedroom pink. The shade of pink that she chose was custom- there is no other pink quite like this one. So we heard about Franklin's expertise of custom-mixing color shades and the fact that they have so many different color variations , and decided to give them a shot. Mike and his team were nothing short of magnificent. Everyone at Franklin's were so patient dealing with us (especially my wife, given her patience is compromised by her 37th week of pregnancy). They gave us the exact color we were looking for from Benjamin Moore, blended it with other variations to arrive at the exact pink shade we wanted. We were truly blown away by how incredible Franklin's Hardware's staff (especially Mike) made something so dull as buying paint so great. Oh I know PRICE GOUGING They are charging well over the standard to buy a mask when the times were not as hard as they are now that mask would sale for $19.99 a box Now they are charging $ 7.99 for one. A Guy in front of me was arguing with them about not having any filters for the $40.00 mask he purchased Funny Thing I purchased the same mask. O Well No body put a gun to my head O Ya I KNOW The Out Break we are going through did. Other Hardware stores are OUT and they know it. Very disappointed. Glad they were able to reopen this store as an ACE hardware but the new management does not follow their published Easy Returns 30 Day Return Policy That is on their website. Attempted to return an item one day after purchase with original packaging and my receipt and manager refused unless there was something wrong with the item. Poor customer service! read more

Glad to find this place. It seems to be the only hardware store of its kind in this area. It is well stocked with friendly people running it. They even have an array of specialty root beer and soda pop in the front. There is a clearly posted sign in front of the store on their policy of checking backpacks at the front desk. I'm more than happy to oblige since it helps curtail shoplifting and I want them to stay in business. We will definitely be coming back. read more

This place has horrible service I had a car key made and they needed my car to program it since I had no working car key I was unable to drive to the store and all I asked was for them to come to me to program my car 1.2 miles away .... they wouldn't I begged and begged and they still wouldn't help me out at all ... I had to purchase aaa (75 bucks) to have my car towed 1.2 miles to get the key programmed .... very messed up in my eyes for sure... the owner named mike is just not a good person I will never do business there again that's for sure read more
