I've been going to this Ace for 20 years. Have spent a lot of money there doing ms y renovations. I was always helped beautiful. But what has happened to this place ? I've had to complain to management both of the last two times I've been there. Just now I asked for help getting a furnace filter off an unreachable shelf. The employee I found d to help me lectured me on ho I should have gotten it myself with the grab stick that was leaning in the aisle. I am a 68 year old woman with injuries. I shouldn't have to lose a grab stick at Ace with a bunch of male employees hanging around the aisles. When I complained to the manager he took no responsibility and said that other manager with the grab stick just fine. Well they are 25 year old male handymen working for other people I said. He didn't seem to get it. Well good thing I don't fall backward getting my own furnace filter or Ace would have a big lawsuit on their hands. The city of Santa Paula is beyond lucky to have a hardware store! I think the outside of the store is misleading as it may seem a very small store. But, it's actually quite large inside! I come in here often; have had keys made, bought some yard signs and locks that were needed. And, huge huge shout out to one of their employees a few months ago. Wish I had gotten his name! I came in as my keyfob remote had crapped out. There was a young man who went over and above to try to help me figure out the issue! He came outside to my car with me, had some technical electrical thing that he used to try to help determine if my car was "reading" the fob or not. We even checked a new battery just in case. Come to find out, it didn't need a new battery: my keyfob no longer works in my 15 year old car. :( But big thanks to the employee who helped me *finally determine it was not a battery issue. Staff is pretty good which is so nice to experience. Of course, during the covid, they all have masks on. I didn't notice if they offered sanitizer at the front door, but they do have a "one way door IN and another door OUT", which is per usual at most businesses now it seems. I just recently found out that they carry Ginger Chews. Who would have known!? I would recommend this Ace Hardware and I know that Santa Paula could sure use the support, too. read more

We shop here for bunches of faucets, hoses, tools, bird seed...all those odds and ends you need and don't want to drive to Ventura to buy. Prices are higher, but they nicely mail us discount coupons that take the edge off since we are on their mailing list. Everyone is super helpful and lead you to the mystery aisle of where the caulk is hidden. Big garden section, and plenty of parking. read more

We had some nice kitchen knives that had gone dull. Called here to ask if they sharpen knives and how long it would take. The answers were yes, and just a few minutes. So we come with four knives and they take us to this machine in the middle of the store where they take a few measurements and the magic begins. There were several who gathered to watch the machine do its thing. We really had no idea if this machine did a good job or not until we got home. When I used the first knife on a lemon I remembered how a sharp knife actually felt again! So happy to have given my knives new life getting them sharpened at Miner's Hardware. I highly recommend this service! The results were amazing!! read more

Jon and Leilani provided excellent help when I needed to purchase a tool that kept getting auto-cancelled online. We were also confused as to why my online orders kept failing but they didn't give up on getting me my tool. When I came in the next day to pick up the tool, Jon and I realized it was the wrong one so he helped again to make it right and ordered the correct tool. Bait and Switch I saw a listing for a wrench set, great price ($49.99) and the web site said several were in stock. So, I drove from Ventura out to Santa Paula. Got to the register and it came up at $89.99. No problem, just have someone make an adjustment. Supervisor came up and flatly stated "online price only". I asked if they could match the price, absolutely not. If the website lists the item as in stock, with the sale price, it should be honored. I could have acted like a Karen and demanded all sorts of things, but I simply left. An hour, driving there, in the store and back to Ventura with nothing. Pissed off is an understatement. Don't believe the website, they won't honor it. read more

I walked into the Ace store this morning about 15 min after they opened and when I walked in no other customers inside the store (since I went up and down the isles looking for the Drywall tape; Back to where I walk in) I was walking up to the paint department there was a girl with glasses standing there and when I was walking towards her she didn't even look at me nor Awknowledge me like I wasn't even there so I did say, hi and she responded with hi as well. So I was still looking for the tape and I heard people walking in and more people and they get Awknowledge and helped and I was inside all this tim when there wasnt a single soul was there and they seen me walk in. Once I walked around the store since I still couldn't find the tape, I headed over to the paint department and there was another girl in that department and she went up to an older couple and asked them if they need help and they said yes. She helped them whatever they needed. Once I located the tape and was reading the instructions on the back the girl was still helping the customer and she started walking towards me and said, excuse me since I was kind of in the way. Once she was done helping the older couple I seen her walking towards the paint which I was still standing she went to her station and sat down on a bucket and starting doing her work and still didn't ask of I need help or any Awknowledgement so I walked passed her and she saw me and still didn't say anything me to me. Kind of sucks when you arentrying to keep the money here in Santa Paula and workers decide who they want to help or Awknowledge. I'm a young home owner and do spend money on projects foe my home and if that's how they want to do it, I'll just take my business elsewhere. I live right across the street within walking distance and its sad how I got treated. I would of gave 5 stars but the customer service was horrible! read more

This is a great ACE store, we moved to Santa Paula not too long ago and the new place had a lot of fixin' up to do. I was in the store probably four days a week for months on end and they nearly always had what I needed with rare exception. Staff are all super helpful, organized, attentive and knowledgeable. read more

Went in to look for an item my grandfather was searching for but didn't quite understand EXACTLY what he needed. Charlie was so patient with my grandfather who is hard of hearing and went above and beyond to try to bring items we thought he was talking about. His co-worker, Joey, even tried to help but unfortunately, it wasn't an item carried in the store. Both even gave us ideas of where to try to find the item in question. Thought this store was great until I brought in my Stihl string trimmer for a tune up. Stay away from the repair department. The "repair person's" name is George and doesn't know what he's doing or talking about as confirmed by my conversation w Stihl. The store manager was next to me while having a very frustrated conversation w George and didn't offer any solutions to my complaints. read more

We purchased 2 poinsettias from this Ace. The next day, one was dead. We discovered that the stems were just stuck in the dirt. My husband had that plant replaced. Wish I had thought to check the second one because there were broken stems on it as well. Maybe a customer did that. However, it is possible that an employee did it. Since I don't know, I gave them a generous 3 star rating. read more

Great store. My husband and I came from Ventura on Saturday looking for a part for our water heater. We had been to our local ACE and Home Depot with no luck and in the end Miner's had it. Got home and installed the part but that wasn't the problem. Through a lot of discussion and research we decided the electronic valve was bad. Went back on Sunday to our local store and to Lowe's with no luck. We decided to make the trip back out to Miner's and happy day they had the valve we needed. They actually had several. We are so lucky in Santa Paula to get a new hardware store! We really needed one! This store is under new ownership and completely revamped! Amazing customer service! Big thanks to Mike and Johnathon and Isabell for being AMAZING! I had a key made at Lowe's but it wasn't done correctly and I didn't want to drive back to Ventura, so I came here and Mike and Johnathon assisted me. Mike recut the key for me at no charge! I was so amazed! How wonderful! And Johnathon helped me find a Universal Garage Door Opener and went above and beyond to make sure I got the correct kind. Thank you guys! And then my cashier was Isabell and she was amazing also! She was friendly and helpful and offered me free samples of miracle grow for my plants! You just gotta come here! Awesome customer care team! I cannot say enough good things about this store. From the moment I walked in this store lifted my spirits. A girl had her hands full and was helpful guiding me to the right department. Making sure she showed me there and handed me off to another associate. I love our ace hardware store in Santa Paula. Our water heater went out yesterday and i was looking on the internet to see what the average price was for a water heater. I figure I would go to the local store to see what the prices were and get all the supplies: water lines, gas line, water heater pan etc. The person was really nice who helped us and was very knowledgeable of what we were doing. I asked him if they had any water heaters and he showed us what they had and it was exactly the one we were looking for and the price was really close to the prices on the internet.
