Friendly service and good selection of products. I have been going here for years as I try to stay away from big box stores. I have never had a rude or even subpar service here. Often if I am visiting another business in the plaza I will stop in just to see what new neat trinkets they have for your yard or just to simply kill time. They cost a little more than the bigger home improvement stores but it is a nicer/calmer atmosphere here at B&B. And they seem to have everything I have ever needed they have but with more helpful employees with smiles. read more

Everyone was so helpful from the moment I walked in I was asked if I needed help. I had a key made and then I also made a trip out to the garden center for advice on a plant. I was able to get enough advice that I didn't need to buy a bottle of the fungus killer. She said if my plant didn't recover then I could return. read more

Recently camped on the beach in Pt. Mugu, and found ourselves with an empty propane tank. With a lot of uncooked carne asada and a dwindling beer supply in the cooler, it seemed necessary to head into town for a few essentials. After feeling my way to a Ralph's supermarket, and coming up snake eyes with the cashier on a propane tank trade, a fellow in line behind me at the store suggested B&B, just down the road. The guy also seemed to be a mind reader, that I had no desire to head across town to the WalMart or the Home Depot and deal with that in a Saturday. Damn near drove past B&B... quaint little spot in a nondescript strip mall. Found a parking spot in the smallish lot, grabbed my talk, and headed for the door. One of the cashiers saw me coming, and I set my tank down outside. Upon entering the store, I had that feeling of "I wish I had 40 minutes to just sort of wander around"-- certainly, the sun wasn't getting any higher in the sky, and I had a campsite of hungry folks waiting for me about 15 miles away, but I couldn't help but just do one lap around the store. B&B reminded me a lot of my neighborhood hardware and garden store from my childhood-- loaded with all sorts of cool stuff, erring on the side of artsy. The garden center maximized the relatively smaller square footage, but like the store, pulled off the high density stock without looking cluttered. Some unique plants here, too, that are not found frequently at the big box stores. Have to admit, I felt a little FOMO knowing I don't have close access to this store in my native San Gabriel Valley home, but I'd definitely be a regular here were it a shorter drive. read more

I entered the store and found a worker. I asked the "worker" where the Vulcanizing rubber glue was. There were Two workers in an isle. BOTH of them were uniformed as to what I asked for. I first was sent to automotive. Not finding what I was looking for I asked Another "associate" as to where the Asked for item was. I then was directed to isle 3. I was unable to locate what I was searching for. I then asked the associate Again to help me and point out what I wanted. I was only directed to look down on shelves. NO Direct help was assisted. I was unable to find what I wanted and they were of NO Direct help. NOT what I was expecting of a friendly neighborhood place. BOTH persons were ignorant. I DO NOT recommend this store. My husband and I come here often and everyone is always friendly and the store is clean and organized. I needed a special item for my lamp yesterday and my husband said go to B&B because they are actually helpful there. He wasn't wrong. The gentleman who helped me looked in 3 different places. We couldn't find anything then he offered another solution. I tried Home Depot for the part (not helpful or knowledgeable at all). I'll be back today to use the gentleman's other solution. As someone who finds the big box chain hardware stores repulsive along with the SUV driving, Starbucks latte clutching, boisterously loud families who shop at such places, I appreciate having B&B Do It Center nearby. Tucked away in a tiny strip mall off Las Posas, I appreciate this location of BB. Though the store is small, every inch of it is filled with all of your house and garden needs. They carry the best needs including paint and garden supplies. The prices are competitive and they have a rewards program which sends coupons for in store use from time to time. The only complaint I have is that because all the other customers are at the annoying big box locations, I must endure the 75+ year old white supremacist male who knows everything and will cut in front of you at line or push you aside to assert how his "intellectual" muscle about how to wash a car. I guess his Klan meetings let out early on the days I am shopping BB. I digress because BB has is here to serve all. The staff are helpful and always greet me as I enter the door. They take the time to answer my questions. For example, I was having an issue with pest control for an orchid. The associate was quite an authority on mite infestations of house raised orchids and had several solutions, of which rid our home of mites and problems. read more

Went in on Saturday and was looking for some hardware for a project I'm working on and in doing so, I needed some assistance with the locked-up chrome nuts and bolts. I was quickly offered help by a gentleman by the name of Val if I remember correctly. He asked me multiple questions to ensure he was helpful and stayed there picking through various sizes of items I was looking to purchase. His professionalism and happy attitude were helpful, as I felt bad asking him for various items ranging in size, and he didn't complain one bit. He even took notes of items that weren't on hand and asked if he could order them for me as he explained the process. Only good for those items that you can't typically find in the Home Depot(s); I was looking for M4 screws and found 0.70 coarse pitch, 6 mm length screws with a 2.5 mm hex head at 0.30 cents each. There was a store clerk restocking the inventory when I entered the aisle to look for these screws - the clerk did not acknowledge my presence or offered any assistance. Meanwhile, after about 5 mins had elapsed, 2 other customers entered the aisle and the clerk willingly obliged, "How may I help you?" to them. B&B Do It Center should take a page out of Nordstrom's Department Store and greet all customers. Small detailers matter ... read more

So, there are many good things about this store: garden, deco, re-screening, etc. friendly staff. Nice selection without being overwhelming, and you can get in and out quickly. But the paint dept...I have bought paint there three times. Several months ago, went to get a Valspar sample based on the chip. First problem: their smallest "sample" is not small nor cheap. Got home, tested a spot: not even close to the chip color. Went back, asked for another sample. Came home, tested a spot: another color entirely from the last sample and the chip! We ended up buying from Lowe's. Right color. Against my better judgment, I went back yesterday for a gallon of a completely different color, as we were about 3/4 of a gallon short on a different project. Guess what? Not even close to what we'd already painted with the gallon of the same color on the wall from Lowe's. I am done with them for paint. I don't know if they aren't computerized or what. read more

POOR customer service from Christine, manager. They had an unusual string of clear, colored C-9 lights that was on display but none on the shelves. I asked if they could get a ladder, unplug that string of lights and sell it to me. Christine refused saying they were a display item and would not sell it to me. They could have written on the receipt that it was a display item, non-returnable and charged me the regular price. I would have been a happy customer but now I'm disgruntled and shall not return. So much for holiday spirit and cheer from B & B. read more

Love this store! You can find too notch garden decorations, plants, flowers, tools, paint, gift's, holiday decorations etc. They seem to have it all. Gifts and house decor is overpriced. Nice - but a bit high. So you look... Get ideas and then check Amazon for the items you were eyeing! Never too busy and you can always get good help. Like I said, I love this store! In my opinion B&B is better than Ace and Greenthumb. *Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because of the overpricing. read more

Their hardware selection is unmatched. My daily driver is a 30 year old Harley-Davidson with all sorts of uncommon fasteners. I know I can come here and find any nut or bolt I need to fix my bike. The big box stores like HD or Lowe's don't even come close. read more

Today in the store I was offered assistance by a young man whose mask was under his nose. When I asked him to cover his nose his response was rude and combative. I told him I was recently finished with chemotherapy and I had to be very careful about contact with others. He had the nerve to tell me I shouldn't be in the store if I was sick! I thought was an inappropriate response and asked for a manager. He replied, " go find him yourself" ... I asked his name to which he gave me the fake name of "juan". I did approach a lady named ROCHELLE at the desk who confirmed his name was NOT Juan and that she would handle him. I hope to continue to shop at B and B but I will still insist on proper mask etiquette.. I know they're not comfortable to wear, but if I have to obey the rules, the employees of the store should have to do the same. read more
