Hidden Gem in Moorpark - Support Local! Stopped by Nature's Best Nursery last week and found a true hidden gem. Saul, the owner, was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and took time to explain different plants and how to care for them. I found exactly what I was looking for! If you're looking for quality plants and want to support a small, local business, I highly recommend stopping by Nature's Best Nursery at the end of Moorpark road before the Norwegian grade. read more

Nature's Best Nursery - Succulents - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Camarillo, California

Since moving here in 1993 Nature's best has been my go to nursery. Love them, there knowledge and selection.

The owner is super nice His wife helps him communicate Knowledgeable Good selection at good prices read more

Saul was great! He's very knowledgeable and his prices are almost half of other local nurseries. I would definitely go back but recommend calling first to make sure he hasn't needed to close for some reason since he's the sole proprietor and occasionally has to close for short periods. He was very accommodating to hold my purchases for pickup by landscaper at a later time. read more

Nature's Best Nursery - My dwarf Little Gem Magnolia tree from Nature's Best! - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Camarillo, California

Doing some gardening and was looking for more variety and affordability than what Lowe's and Home Depot had to offer. Nature's Best Nursery checked off both boxes. We would definitely come back. read more

Lovely place can't wait to get some more plants there in the near future it was great great prices lots of to choose from

This nursery is not well organized and many of the plants were in bad shape/dying. There's an old couple that live on this property and they didn't seem like they wanted to help us. Looks like they couldn't get around very well either. I felt sorry for them and left. read more

Awesome selection of plants including many California natives and drought-tolerant ones. Owner is very helpful can provide suggestions on growth conditions and plant pairings. Prices are fair and the service is wonderful. I will defiantly return whenever I need more plants. read more

I parked and in less than a minute was this very friendly and very knowledgeable gentleman. He understood exactly my needs and showed me this beautiful ground cover that I replace my current high maintenance lawn. read more

It's 2025, and Saul is always there to continue to welcome you with a smile that brightens your day. The array of healthy, natural flowers and plants is truly breathtaking. During your visit, you'll also meet Maribel, Rocky, and perhaps the lovely cat if it happens to be around. The atmosphere is so welcoming, making you confident that the blooms or plants you choose will thrive in your home... Saul diligently cares for all the plants on the premises, and I'm always satisfied with my experience and purchases. That's why I always come back to this beautiful gem. Thank you! read more

Saul and his wife Mirabel are two of the most knowledgeable human beings when it comes to all things plant-related. Not only are they incredibly kind...but they will answer any questions you might have about your pre-existing plants or plants you are looking to buy. They specialize in CA native, drought-resistant, and butterfly attractor plants. I have learned so much from these two over the last few years and I can't wait for the rest of the world to discover this gem of a nursery! read more

Great place. Saul is such a good guy and could use local support! Lots of native plants!

This place is like going to a botanical garden where you can actually take the plants home with you. It's lush and beautiful. They had some of the healthiest lavender I've ever seen and we keep going back for more plants because they have hands down the best prices in the area and the man who works (maybe owns?) the place is so sweet and helpful. Super knowledgeable about his plants and he even adopted a rescue dog that hangs out in the little building and I just love that he did that. What a great life for a dog. read more

I've been coming here for the past few years and have found no better place that I enjoy buying plants from. The owner, Saul, is very knowledgable and patiently answers all my questions on the variety of plants, not to mention his pricing is the best I've seen around. There are tons of plants, succulents and cacti to choose from. I've brought my neice with me several times and she loves running around picking and choosing our new plants. I've spent some time chit chatting with Saul's wife Maribel and overall they are just amazing people! Large variety, great service, and best pricing, you cant go wrong here. read more

Nature's Best Nursery - a small succulent in a pot - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Camarillo, California

Cool nursery out in the boondocks of Camarillo. I love that because I've never been out that way and it was a beautiful day! They were the only places after endless searching for a pure white beaugonvilla that my mother was tracking down. The price was great! Also, my other favorite part was their sweet garden cat who followed is around while we looked! We'd love to come by again! read more

Great prices and great plants. Owner was very knowledgeable and helpful. We love to support a local member of the community.

Small, family owned local business with a great selection of pesticide free plants at unbeatable prices!

Awesome nursery with a huge selection and great prices. So glad we didn't buy anything at Home Depot- feel like these were 1/2 or 2/3 the price. The owner is very knowledgeable and kind. I definitely will be back! read more

We're new to the area. Based on the Yelp reviews, we tried some of the bigger, flashier, better advertised places. Sure, some of them have lots of good plants and a few have some great employees (if you're lucky enough to find the right ones) but all of them were more crowded and impersonal. This place, though, is the real deal. So much great plants and flowers from which to choose. And -- spoiler alert! -- so many happy butterflies all around the place. The owner has been in the business for over 35 years and it shows. He knows his stuff and is willing to share his great expertise and advice. I left with six plants, all bursting with life and color. The price was very fair. We'll be back. This is the kind of independent business we should all be sharing, especially during these trying time. Recommend highly. read more

We had no idea this lovely nursery even existed! It's a family run business and Saul, the owner, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Lots to choose from and everything is well taken care of. We will definitely return for more drought friendly plants! read more

Local nursery that's been in business for almost 40 years. Owner is knowledgeable and prices are fair.

Great selection and pricing on milkweed and perennials. Friendly and helpful. No pressure sales and happy to answer questions.

Best nursery in Ventura county. The owner and his wife are very professional and helping ppl.

Great little spot! Lots of great plants at a good price and the staff is so friendly!

Saul is a gem. He's honest, knowledgeable, hard working and friendly. He was extremely patient with us and we couldn't be more excited about our Pali Verde tree, cactus, grasses, succulents and a few other items he helped us with! read more

I am beyond happy I found Nature's Best. It's a gem and Saul can get plants in that others can't. He's half the price in many cases than Home Depot and other nurseries. And his service is excellent. read more

I found this place on Yelp as I knew I was headed to the Moorpark area. The gentleman that runs the place is the kindest, coolest, and most helpful nursery owner. I got three plants and the prices are more than fair. This is a very real type nursery. No flash, just great plants and great service. I will definitely be back!! Thank you! read more

I feel ashamed to say I bought my plants at places like Home Depot and Lowes now that I've been here. The gentleman that helped me was informative and patient with all my questions. On top of that he offered prices there were WAY cheaper than these big name stores. I am planning on returning in the future to purchase agave plants from here. Today I only got a few succulents for $5 each. Have not seen them in stores like Home Depot and I'm sure if I did they would be twice as expensive! read more

Stumbled by here by accident. I took a wrong turn down a road and saw the nursery sign and decided to pull over. The man/owner was sooo nice and down to earth. I'll be back for lavender, great pricing and how took the time to teach me about which kinds will grow here vs the mungstead ones that keep dying on me read more

Best nursery around, hands down! Great selection of native plants as well as many others. The owner is so nice and wanting to help with any questions. He's a wealth of knowledge. So refreshing compared to the big box stores. Oh and the best part, his prices are half of those big box stores! I will never again shop anywhere else for my plants. read more

Just bought some really beautiful butterfly bushes and a variety of other drought tolerant flowers for our backyard. Like others have noted, Saul was patient, knows his craft and offers amazing prices. Check it out!! read more

It would be a significant mistake to judge this book by its cover. Although this nursery doesn't have an elaborate infrastructure, the owner, Saul, is one of the most knowledgeable and well connected individuals in the business. As a rule, I defer to expertise and I focus on quality and service. Saul is definitely an expert that I trust and I have never had an issue with his quality or service. What I truly appreciate about Nature's Best is that Saul is a top notch person, who always does the right thing and always treats me with dignity and respect. I have made a strong connection with Saul because of the trust we have developed over the years. I have purchased literally over a thousand plants/trees from Saul over the years due to a few house moves. He provides extraordinary prices with consistently high plant quality (I have had only a hand full of plants not make it). As other reviewers have noted, Saul is a walking version of the Sunset Gardening index for plants. His knowledge is seriously impressive. Important to know #1: Saul can get you virtually any plant you need. Just because you don't see it at his nursery doesn't mean he can't get it. He has ordered me several hundreds from his extensive network and again the quality and pricing has remained impressive. You would be foolish not to reach out to Saul prior to making purchases with any significant quantity. Important to know #2: Saul has cerebral palsy which can make communication a small challenge for some individuals. If so, I would suggest visiting the nursery as that seems to help. I am so impressed with Saul's tenacity and strength as an owner that I try to do whatever I can to help him grow his business. Stop by Nature's Best... you won't be disappointed with the knowledge and guidance you receive, the quality of the plant or the prices you get. read more

Fun nursery, a bit shabby but great prices. Lots of drought tolerant and native plants.

Very helpful once we found. Google directions are incorrect, sent us a bit further up the road and across the street. We will be back, we ended up buying 20 trees. read more

I recently purchased several bushes from a competing nursery, and they didn't have quite enough, so we went here to get the remaing bushes we needed. Within two weeks of planting his bushes, they were dead. I called him to se if I could get either a refund, or a replacement. His answer? NO GUARANTEE. I explained to him that the ther bushes we purchased from his competitor were actually thriving. His answer? NO GUARANTEE on plant materials. I guess there will be NO GUARANTEE that I will not be badmouthing his business read more

Great, gets 5 stars given the knowledge and expertise of Sal, the owner. We have been coming here for years, and despite the slimmer inventory, we always manage to find 4-5 great values and remarkable plants. read more
