Saul was great! He's very knowledgeable and his prices are almost half of other local nurseries. I would definitely go back but recommend calling first to make sure he hasn't needed to close for some reason since he's the sole proprietor and occasionally has to close for short periods. This nursery is not well organized and many of the plants were in bad shape/dying. There's an old couple that live on this property and they didn't seem like they wanted to help us. Looks like they couldn't get around very well either. I felt sorry for them and left. read more

This place is like going to a botanical garden where you can actually take the plants home with you. It's lush and beautiful. They had some of the healthiest lavender I've ever seen and we keep going back for more plants because they have hands down the best prices in the area and the man who works (maybe owns?) the place is so sweet and helpful. Super knowledgeable about his plants and he even adopted a rescue dog that hangs out in the little building and I just love that he did that. What a great life for a dog. read more

I've been coming here for the past few years and have found no better place that I enjoy buying plants from. The owner, Saul, is very knowledgable and patiently answers all my questions on the variety of plants, not to mention his pricing is the best I've seen around. we came here yesterday & had such a nice time! the weather was perfect and the owner Saul was so sweet & walked us around showing us everything we were looking for. reviews are right & prices are very reasonable. we got a beautiful pomegranate tree and a few other plants (milkweed, fire coral, snapdragons & a small succulent) for $130 will be going back when we have a truck to get a few more things, birds of paradise & gorgeous weeping bottlebrush (they do not have citrus trees though so will have to look elsewhere for them if that's what you're looking for) read more

We're new to the area. Based on the Yelp reviews, we tried some of the bigger, flashier, better advertised places. Sure, some of them have lots of good plants and a few have some great employees (if you're lucky enough to find the right ones) but all of them were more crowded and impersonal. This place, though, is the real deal. So much great plants and flowers from which to choose. And -- spoiler alert! -- so many happy butterflies all around the place. The owner has been in the business for over 35 years and it shows. He knows his stuff and is willing to share his great expertise and advice. I left with six plants, all bursting with life and color. The price was very fair. We'll be back. This is the kind of independent business we should all be sharing, especially during these trying time. Recommend highly. read more

I feel ashamed to say I bought my plants at places like Home Depot and Lowes now that I've been here. The gentleman that helped me was informative and patient with all my questions. On top of that he offered prices there were WAY cheaper than these big name stores. I am planning on returning in the future to purchase agave plants from here. It would be a significant mistake to judge this book by its cover. Although this nursery doesn't have an elaborate infrastructure, the owner, Saul, is one of the most knowledgeable and well connected individuals in the business. As a rule, I defer to expertise and I focus on quality and service. Saul is definitely an expert that I trust and I have never had an issue with his quality or service. What I truly appreciate about Nature's Best is that Saul is a top notch person, who always does the right thing and always treats me with dignity and respect. I have made a strong connection with Saul because of the trust we have developed over the years. I have purchased literally over a thousand plants/trees from Saul over the years due to a few house moves. He provides extraordinary prices with consistently high plant quality (I have had only a hand full of plants not make it). As other reviewers have noted, Saul is a walking version of the Sunset Gardening index for plants. His knowledge is seriously impressive. Important to know #1: Saul can get you virtually any plant you need. Just because you don't see it at his nursery doesn't mean he can't get it. He has ordered me several hundreds from his extensive network and again the quality and pricing has remained impressive. You would be foolish not to reach out to Saul prior to making purchases with any significant quantity. Important to know #2: Saul has cerebral palsy which can make communication a small challenge for some individuals. If so, I would suggest visiting the nursery as that seems to help. I am so impressed with Saul's tenacity and strength as an owner that I try to do whatever I can to help him grow his business. I recently purchased several bushes from a competing nursery, and they didn't have quite enough, so we went here to get the remaing bushes we needed. Within two weeks of planting his bushes, they were dead. I called him to se if I could get either a refund, or a replacement. His answer? NO GUARANTEE. I explained to him that the ther bushes we purchased from his competitor were actually thriving. His answer? NO GUARANTEE on plant materials. Went there to see Saul based on great reviews by other Yelpers and we weren't disappointed. Saul greets you as you drive in and immediately offers to help with his selection. We went there for drought tolerant plants to replace our front yard landscaping. Saul was very helpful and knowledgeable about every plant we selected. His prices are very reasonable at $10 for most 5 gal. Native plants. Some were $15 but he still blows away the big box stores and chain nurseries. His selection is somewhat limited but we still managed to spend $257. We will definitely return. Great find. read more
