To set the stage, my review is based off a $14k+ landscaping project done to the front and back of my home. I'm not rating their maintenance services because I have not, and very likely will never use it. I'm not making a recommendation, but rather just sharing my experience as a cautionary tale for anyone who might find this helpful in their search for a quality landscaping company. The beginning phases were quite promising. Matt came by for the initial inspection and answered all of my questions thoughtfully. I'd been having a hard time finding a reliable landscaper for this large project, so I was relieved when Matt said they could get the work done and he seemed to be forthright and communicative. However, once they finished and I sent my final progress payment, that's when things started to go awry. They reseeded both the front and back yards and assured me that it would grow, but they would likely need to come back a few times to see how the grass was growing and potentially apply more seed, etc. That's fair and totally understandable. They left very few and light instructions for maintenance (which were followed to a T) and assured me that they would monitor the watering schedule and adjust as needed since they had access to the Rachio sprinkler system that they put in as part of the project. Again, great and feeling good about the progress. After several weeks, grass is starting to grow (faster in back, but very slowly and patchy in the front). They come back and reseeded the areas not yet growing and say to wait it out and continue the watering. Which, btw, was 3 times a day, every day. My water bill tripled and I've spent roughly $1k extra here just for the grass to not grow and die (will come back to this shortly). Several more weeks go by - by this point the backyard is actually looking nice, but the front is just awful and super patchy. After weeks of trying, I finally get Matt on the phone. He basically blames his workers (not a good look from my POV) for not correctly applying the seed initially and also blames it on some separate irrigation issue (which really would not have impacted this at all) since it was not near the patchy areas. The last thing he blamed was me for not cutting the grass, which I couldn't believe he'd done because his last instructions were to not mow. I was actually baffled that he was so quick to place the blame everywhere else. This was so unprofessional from my perspective as a client who paid a sizable amount of money for a large project that went beyond just the reseed. They did come back once more, but still nothing was happening to those large and unsightly patches in the front. Then on top of that, the grass in the backyard began to die! This made no sense whatsoever to me. They had full control of the watering system, the grass was now being mowed weekly with a regular lawnmower. I even used the very expensive herbicide (DriveXLR8) they recommended for killing weeds that wouldn't harm the grass. The fact that the grass now died in the backyard was completely mind blowing. I tried to get ahold of Matt to have him come out to see what was happening and discuss what was going on. But every time he would ignore and Paola would respond saying that he was busy and would get back to me later. As you can guess, later never came. I only really got a response from Matt via Paola where she said that his response was something like "well the grass looked good before." This experience turned into a nightmare. They effectively courted me, then took my money and ran. I even tried to work with them, offering to pay them even more money for maintenance to be closer to the situation to help fix it. Never got a response from Matt. Not once did they try to offer a solution or even offer a partial refund to rectify the situation. Unbelievable. All I will say is buyer beware and do your diligence more than I did. Because once they have been paid, they will completely ignore you. read more

Terrible service. Have the most basic front yard. The guys do such a bad job. My mom who is over 70 still has to go out and weed and maintain the edges. Why do we even pay for this service? After telling them what we wanted multiple times (edging, raking, weeding) they still can't get it right. Extremely disappointed and would never recommend. read more

The guys that come out to do the work are also very professional, very knowledgeable, and you can see they take pride in what they do. I would leave a score of zero stars if possible. Don't be fooled by the owner coming to meet you for an initial consultation as all of the actual work is done by a (possibly illegal) crew that does NOT care about your property and will lie about services rendered. I've come home to find my garden hose carelessly strewn (with photos to prove) across my hedges and when the crew came back to take it down- they lied to the owner that they were authorized to do more work. I've since been charged with an additional fee for services that I did not approve and now have to hire an attorney because Matt has sent the claim to collections. I'm appalled at the horrible service and lack of accountability for this company. Please do not make the same mistake I did, it will cost you unnecessary time and headache. read more

Ownership of Vision Landscaping is totally checked out. There is seriously no interest in keeping its customers happy. There is no follow-through and dishonesty with Matt. Case-in-point, I asked Matt if his company can remove a tree from my home and I was provided a bid which I accepted. Weeks, and months later, I have been unable to get them to do the work. Once I pushed the issue, Matt stated that the tree had grown too much and was no longer able to do the work. There is absolutely ZERO supervision with Vision Landscaping. I watch my yard deteriorate in its maintenance. This company nickel and dimes you and line items everything on their very complex invoicing system. If you want your timer to be programed, it will cost you. Yup, it's true, even though I bought their timer of choice. I was willing to pay the higher fee they charge and put up with the nickel and diming, except for one thing, they are no better than the service I had prior which was half the cost. I originally had Vision maintain 2 locations with a possibility of installation and maintenance of a 3rd location. Not only did they not prove themselves to earn that installation and maintenance project, they would not even meet with me on a Saturday to discuss what needed improvement. Nope, they were not interested in doing anything more than the minimum required. Please don't let their website and photos fool you, they do not live up to the most lenient of standards. Summary: * Price is too high for level of service. *Invoicing is too complex and not straightforward at all. *Landscaper will not accommodate meeting with owner on Weekends. *Landscaper nickels and dimes for set up of sprinkler system which should be free of charge. *No improvement to landscaping condition. *No attention to detail. *No supervision. Too much owner involvement needed. *Overall satisfaction is poor. read more

Vision landscaping did not offer to Reseed in fact they walked off the job after payment and wouldn't discuss it we did water frequently afterwords they did a lousy job they did not clear the weeds they did not put the seed barrier down they did not add any soil They charged for a sod cutter but never used one They just rotter tilled the old sod and weeds over again and then planted that seed they had to They had to order more seed as they did not have a Enough seed to finish the job the first time that seed never came, up only weeds I would not recommend vision landscaping and their price was thousands of dollars more than estimated read more

Weekly email updates keep us updated on what was done, and online payment means no envelopes or trips to the post office. And the crews are super-professional and reliable. They let us know about the holiday schedule well ahead of time, and if there are any hiccups (which has happened just once), I got a text letting me know when to expect them. Vision Landscaping is far and away the best service providers that we have had for our home. Matt, the owner, met with us initially, provided service level options and costs (which were fair), and follows up with periodic visits to check on work and make sure that things are properly cared for. His crew follows through on all work areas, leaves the yard looking great and does exactly what is expected and agreed upon. After each weekly service, we get an email summarizing work performed. This opens up a dialogue for follow up questions, requests, etc. Never have I interacted so easily with our gardening service or had such a quick turnaround with requests.
