He came out walked the property with me. He immediate got what I was trying to do. "Refresh everything with low water consumption plants and a more modern style." The original landscaping was from the 1970's. The overgrown junipers and ficus plants reflected that. The galvanized sprinklers with the leaky, non functional valves, all needed to be replaced. He said to give him a couple of days and he would get back to me. True to his word, he sent me the quote on time. I reviewed it with my wife, but she wanted to understand his plan for the property, so we arranged for him to meet us once again. He explained his vision for the property. He then took us to a Landscape nursery so that we could see the plants he had in mind. My wife like his choices, she picked a couple of flower colors and I picked the type of trees. Pete scheduled the entire thing, all four sides of the property, to be done in one weekend. He came out with his crew and demo'd everything, installed new drainage, new sprinklers (including drip irrigation) and laid new sod, planted the plants and trees and laid out the gravel and crushed granite walkways. It came out spectacular. The house really looks brand new with the new grass and plants. His crew and he fixed a number of problems and really changed the look of the house. Rob and Darryl came out on Friday and started digging into the problem. After working in my yard for a couple of hours it turns out not only did I have a leak, all my sprinkler heads needed to be replaced. (No, I wasn't surprised by this!) He did not have the heads with him that need to be used in my yard, so they fixed one leak and Rob told he he would return on Monday or Tuesday with the correct sprinkler heads and finish fixing the system. Imagine my surprise when he texted me Saturday morning saying he had the stuff and would be by to finish all the repairs! After the job was completed in three separate areas of our front and backyard, we came home to a flood in the backyard. I sent him a video and he advised how to turn the water off because his guy did not cap something. Then the next day I go to turn one of the valves on and it's spewing water out. His guy returned to tighten it and said if this happens again, they will replace it. Well, the second time I went to use it it's against spewing water out today. He came back to tighten it again and refused to replace the gasket or anything. I will just have to call somebody else for repair. The third area that he worked on he put a new valve and our timer is not working to it. It looks like the wires were cut. I had to hire somebody else to repair that area. Basically every single area that he worked on either wasn't done right in the first place or I had call another company out to repair their work. We paid Jesse in full with a tip (before I knew all of the work was defective) so I felt that I needed to let him know of the issues. Today when I called him on the phone to go over everything he was irate, cussing, and beyond furious and could not talk professionally. He called me a liar multiple times and blamed me for the valve leaking because we did not use the timer on it. I had to explain to him and his guy even had to tell him that there's no timer connected to this area. He didn't believe us..that is when I went into telling him about the other timer not working in the other area and he didn't want to hear it. I didn't even dare tell him that we had to hire somebody else to fix it! We will not be referring him or working with him ever again. I suggest you do the same.
