Armstrong was my favorite garden center growing up as a kid. We have one in LA super close to where I grew up and I have fond memories of coming here with my mom on the weekends. Now that I live in the 805, I was happy to learn years ago that there is a local Armstrong. Armstrong is like the Bristol Farms of gardening. It's slightly elevated and more upscale but approachable. They have a pretty selection of flowers, trees, succulents, and indoor plants. The inside store is what I remember with cute home decors and garden treasures. Pots, statues, fountains they do have it all. Another perk about Armstrong is they have their own small little parking lot despite being off the busy main road in Thousand Oaks. I didn't have any interaction with staff when I came here so I can't review too much on that. Kind of says something that in the time I was here no one approached me or to offer help, but I also truly didn't need help or any direction so it was okay with me. The reason I docked one star is honestly I just find it to be a bit pricey. Yes they do sometimes have more unique plants and a large selection but on the day I came I wasn't outright impressed given that I had just come from Home Depot and Lowe's and seen a lot of similar Items. Everything here is a couple dollars more than the big brand retailers which I get makes some sense as Armstrong is a smaller company, but when gardening and doing big projects, I'm looking to save money and unless you just want to support this business - I had trouble justifying why I would pay a couple bucks more here when I could get a better deal down the street. Overall, this is a really nice Armstrong garden location and I'm happy the city of Thousand Oaks has it. I will be back but more so to find unique plants, otherwise than I'll be buying the bulk of my gardening project items elsewhere.

Here's my new tree and I love it!

I needed a large indoor tree that didn't get a lot of direct sunlight. Originally I didn't think a large retail nursery was my best option to find such a tree. Well, I went to two wholesale nurseries and didn't find the tree i needed, so I went to Armstrong Nursery T.O. And met Leighton. She listened to us, looked at pictures and helped us find the most perfect tree. Then she explained in detail how we should plant the tree when I got home. This felt like a neighborhood store with a smart friend helping me! Thanks Leighton!

I'm a new plants parent and learning how to do better with plants. This people here, help me a lot. I'm no green thumb yet, but I'm definitely not a plants killer anymore. Staff are super friendly and willing to help. The price is reasonable, some may be a little more compare to other store but the plants here are healthier and taken care much better than those in other big store. That's what you need to assure your plants can grow properly.

Always a lovely selection and it's enjoyable to just walk thru the nursery. They have great garden accessories and I bought a beautiful 8' steel garden arch.

Plant heaven! They have so many beautiful plants and they do a great job in keeping them looking healthy and vibrant. Lots of selections from trees, flowers, cactus and pots. Their pots are a big pricey for my price range but they are nice. It's also a nice thing that they offer gardening classes! I would love to go to one some day.

I absolutely love this place. They have everything you need, and stuff you didn't know you needed also. They have everything plants, indoor and outdoor. Pots...lots of really nice Pots. Garden decor of every kind. All the employees are so nice but more then that they are very knowledgeable. The restrooms are nicely decorated and very clean. They deliver in case you don't have a vehicle that can accommodate what you purchase. Over all this is a great place for all your gardening needs. I highly recommend it.

They did everything from a paver-stone patio, new irrigation and sod, removing and re-locating existing trees and plants, adding lights, and even retrofitting and setting up an old fountain of ours that had been used as a planter. I can't say enough about Andres and his crew, they were hard working, professional and had great ideas for improving our design. Lastly, Laurie came in and helped with the grand design of our planting scheme. With her knowledge of plants, she made the most of our existing plants and then added her touch with additional planting that turned our backyard into a wonderland. After we went to the latter with only partial success, DH suggested going to Sterling. He'd been there before, while I had only wanted to visit but had never stopped in. It's beautifully laid out. Though it's a nursery, selling all manner of trees and other plants, it's arranged to feel like you're visiting a designed garden. Once we drove into the heart of the property I was somewhat confused on where to stop and park. DH remarked that they had done some major rearranging since he'd last been there, so he wasn't sure where to direct me to go. We found a spot that wasn't blocking any of their driveways, then got out to take a look around. We weren't seeing any succulents, nor any employees to ask. I was soaking up the beautiful surroundings when one of the staff offered to help. He said that they don't sell smaller succulents, only one and five gallon pots. That's not going to work for us at this stage, so we thanked him and moved on to another stop. I would plan to return when looking for larger landscaping needs.

Grab a wagon and load up because you won't know when to stop with some many great plants, deals on supplies and their inviting layout. As a small chain of garden centers meets plant nurseries I have to say this location stands out. Their online shop is easy also with get learning materials, newsletters , resources and even a plant library. I'll never forget my first trip here with my friend Sam, definitely need to hit her up again for a plant day, but absolutely still enjoy coming here with others and of course solo for some planty self-care. Adding some Elephant Bush (Portulacaria afra) friends to the plant family at home. Absolutely and 818/SFV/LA Valley favorite among many. You'll want to get lost between the many areas the have here and in the main area as well as their extended open air garden on the parking lot side. Staff here is very personable and extremely knowledgeable. From lawn and outdoor patio furniture or fixtures, fountains, decorations and plant care musts, GTN has a bit of it all. Even fun seasonal items and sales. Entrance in back, where you'll also find their parking lot, fairly spacious, but it can and does fill up on weekends. Restroom available for customers.
