Moved into a new construction home with nothing but dirt in the back yard. Needed a lot of help in designing the hard scape and soft scape. We spoke with a couple of contractors who were going to sub out the pavers and the landscaping. Don't get me wrong - they all came highly recommended. But we felt we could cut out the middle man and go to the source of the soft scape and went directly to Camarillo Nursery. We met with Robert Bell, the owner and landscape architect. He listened to the things we wanted to have in the yard and came up with a plan that he promised we would love in the price range that we gave him. And he did. The staff is really kind and very knowledgeable. Some things are pricey and others are not. A lot of good quality things. Indoor plants, outdoor plants, soils and fertilizers, and I think they also have pots and fountains. I recommend signing up as a VIP member. You will get monthly emails about healthy recipes, and sometimes you will get a free plant, or fertilizer, and a discount on certain stuff. I like this place. And I support it. Recently went to Camarillo Nursery to shop for houseplant gifts for the holidays. The selection was terrible! Home Depot has a better selection. Ventured out into the nursery, other than the succulent section, the nursery selection was also terrible. If you're looking for 1 gallon plants you're not going to find anything good here. I'm an avid nursery shopper and I was so surprised not to find a bedding section. I will say that the help is very good. read more
