Martin, the owner, is fabulous! His expertise, friendly, helpful and professionalism are to shelf. I'm tech challenged and Martin was so willing to spend time explaining the services he recommended, why Etc. My laptop had been seriously neglected for too long and now it's like a new laptop. read more

Wow, well all the good reviews about Martin and this business are true! Went in today with 2 laptops not working and got an honest opinion that was not all about this business making money, but rather what was best for us! Martin gave us his time and professional assessment which was in our best interest, not his. How refreshing it was to find someone with his expertise who was also honest and kind. read more

Great advice on the service selected. Also, some inside tips on future purchase. Proprietor was gracious in the disclosure of realistic costs and advice going forward on future computer repairs and purchases. read more

I had issues trying to set my laptop back to factory. My laptop kept on doing this never ending looping and had problems trying to fully recover. So I bought it to Martin and made it simple explaining what some of the issues could be. He suggested to wipe the laptop clean and it would take two days. To his word, it took two days and called me in the AM on the second day saying my computer was ready. Overall, I'm not that tech savvy when it comes to reimaging a computer and there was no way I would have figured it out quick enough. Martin saved me the headache, time and the price to fix it was a very reasonable. As always, I'm all about helping small business! Please support your local small businesses! read more

Thank you so much for your support. After not being able to retrieve my data. They weren't even gonna charge me for tryin. Left a big tip. Found out I was ripped off on my new computer (upgrade undisclosed before purchase). With a voided warranty, no third party seller support, or amazon support, my only choice was to try to repair the computer I already paid 1700 for, They helped me square everything away And get my computer running again. I don't have a warranty, can't get a refund or warranty repair, but at least I know I have computer idiots! read more

I am very impressed with the service Computer Idiot provides. My computer died, I called them and told me to bring it in and they would look it right away. They did and didn't even charge me for it. They gave me a fair and upfront estimate of repairs and the timeframe. I will take my computers there for service from now on. Thank you very much. I'm very happy. read more

Want to know what the best value is that you can get from an expert? FREE assistance! I walked in last week with a charging issue on my laptop, and instead of taking the machine and making a simple repair, making $200 in the process (which I probably would have paid happily), they dignosed the problem for me right at the front counter and recommended a $30 buy from Amazon and a simple self-repair. Trustworthy folks here! I hope that I don't have any issues that require more consultation, but if I do, I won't hesitate to return to Computer Idiot. read more

I had a great experience today at Computer Idiot! Took my laptop in and they put it through a diagnostic, explaining the process along the way. Determined it was just the battery and let me how to order it from Amazon. Thanked me for coming in and didn't charge me a thing! I will definitely go back if I have any other computer needs! read more

I went in as a walk in with my computer. They were helpful and honest about solutions I could try. I highly recommend them!

If you are looking for a professional and honest repair man for your computer, Martin at Computer Idiot is the person you want to have looking at your computer. I broke off my headphone jack in my laptop and was looking for someone that could help me and do the repair. I took my laptop to Martin to have him look at it. He explained to me what he would need do to fix the problem, and he gave me another alternative that I could do in order to be able to use the headphone again. Martin didn't have to give me that alternative and could have fixed the laptop and charged me for the repair but he didn't. I felt so happy that he was so honest and saved me money. I highly recommend Martin for someone you can trust with your repairs. Thank you Martin. read more

I cannot say enough about these guys. Over the years I have had a few smallish problems. They listened to what I needed, asked questions to fully understand, and either fixed my computer or told me how to. They are patient and kind. If you are reading this review and have a computer problem, call or visit these guys. You will be delighted with their expert work and fair prices. A no-brainer. read more

This company (primarily the founder/owner/operator Martin Duran, and technician Nick,) is the best service business I have ever used. Not only are they experienced and highly skilled, but they seem to have "written the book on ethics and integrity." For a senior citizen like me, when needing repairs to appliances, or highly specialized tools such as our computers, I'm always concerned that it would be easy to take advantage of my ignorance , and relative lack of technical /mechanical ability. No worries, they are honest to a fault, always explaining alternatives and less expensive options and/or other similar service providers. It would take me hours to completely review the positive experiences I have had over several years when I call on Computer Idiot for help with computer problems. But I'm concluding with this - if/when your computer needs attention- phone or email the Computer Idiot, on Johnson Drive in Ventura. read more

I came in last minute because my computer won't charge and I needed a quick fix since I am in my finals in school. They diagnosed it for free and told me where to go buy a new cord locally. They treated me like a real human being and didn't take advantage of just how little I know about tech. He talked about my truck for a few minutes and shook my hand. I'll be going back there soon and already recommend them to our friends. read more

Came in to swap out a graphic card with no notice on a Saturday with no notice... Amazing customer service that took me back to the good ol days when we mainly dealt with "mom and pop" shops. As a true father and son operation I can say that this duo went above and beyond my expectations. You may pay a few extra dollars for some services compared to farmed out corporate operations, but you get what you pay for. They are also one of only a few operations that are open on a Saturday, a big plus for someone that is very busy Monday-Friday. read more

I have taken my computer everywhere, Best Buy, frys, friends etc. My friends tried to fix it. Best Buy and frys had me buy components that I later found out I didn't need. None of them were able to fix my computer. It's been sitting in my living room almost 4 years, every time I turned it on it would freeze or blue screen. I took it to Martin at Computer Idiot and explained my situation and he advised me to take it home and run a diagnostic myself and bring it back if that doesn't fix it. I ended up bringing it to him and the dude worked his magic on my computer. In 4 years my computer has been crashing on me and no one was able to help me out... except Martin @computer idiot. Thank you guys. Like I told you it's running like I just bought it read more

A friend said I had to go to Computer Idiot with my laptop. What a great find. They didn't make a penny off of me today, because Martin diagnosed my problem and explained to me how I could solve my problem with out him repairing my laptop. He could have made money by doing the repair I thought I needed, but he really listened to how I was going to use the laptop and recommended the best course of action for me. Really valuable and practical advice, free. I hope not to have computer problems too often, but I know exactly where I will be going when I do. read more

Best computer wizards in Ventura! Attentive, prompt, reasonably priced, and experts at their work! The battery in my Macbook was warped super bad (like a balloon) and they really had to give it some TLC to remove it and not crack the keyboard. Not only were they able to successfully replace the battery, they were able to flatten the body and basically restore it to factory fresh. I will never go anywhere else for any future computer needs! read more

Martin at Computer Idiot is honest, professional and highly skilled in computer repair and maintenance. I have taken my computers to him for five or six years, and he has always been able to fix my problem. Before he begins, he explains in full detail the course of action he plans to take and what the cost will be. His fees are very reasonable, and he always looks for the lowest cost solution. He recently took the time to give me advice over the phone and would not let me pay him for his time. I highly recommend Martin at Computer Idiot - he gets five stars from me! Katie L. read more

July 2014 Money Saver Yay !! I used Computer Idiot today and it did not cost me a thing. I had been trying for months to figure out how to access my wireless keyboard, which i had used in the past, and thought i must have pressed a key disabbling it. It was driving me crazy ! Over the phone i was advised what to check, and PRESTO, my problem was solved. This was my second dealing with this business and i truely reccomend it as an honest and helpful business. We are lucky to have this in Ventura. read more

They are incredibly rude and petty. I basically had a full argument with the guys over $5. Their attitude is absolutely disgusting and they think it's okay to talk down to women. Sorry but I am a single, hard working mother and they said they didn't care and to spare them from my sob story. No matter what, they argued with me over $5 that I always said I was going to give them. They completely belittled me and talked down to me as if I was nothing I don't understand how talking to a woman in such a manner is acceptable. Absolutely disgusting. read more

I took my Surface Go 2 in to try and install some software. When I attempted to install it at home it would crash the tablet. I brought it in there and they speculated that it could have been an issue with the internet at my house and not the tablet, so they let me connect to their internet and sure enough it worked! Then there were issues with storage on the Surface Go 2 and they walked me through how to troubleshoot the storage issues. They were very nice and patient. Would highly recommend. Super rad and nice. And love that they're open on Saturdays for the weekend warriors. read more

I had an issue with my cable provider and internet service. My modem and wireless router were not connecting after I upgraded my computer to Windows 10. The problem was intermittent then I could not connect at all. Spoke to Martin. He listened and gave me a few alternatives to try myself before investing in a service call. He also shared a similar personal experience had had and his solution. I decided to use his solution, get the combination modem/router from the provider. Then, all future problems would be the provider's issue, not mine. I was very pleased and would recommend CIT Services highly. Thanks... read more

Oh my gosh, these guys are the greatest!! I never write reviews for businesses, but felt I had to after the amazing service I got! If you're on a budget and want to honestly know all your options for getting your computer fixed, definitely go to these guys. Martin explained what was likely wrong with my computer and exactly what I needed to do to avoid spending hundreds of dollars retrieving data from a dead hard drive. After that, he spent all the time it took to explain what had to happen next to put in a new hard drive and get my computer up and running, including Computer Idiot's rates, and how I could do it all on my own if I chose. I ended up having them install my new hard drive, then installing Windows, with all the updates and drivers on my own to save the money, which I felt confident about after Martin explained the whole process to me and answered my questions. Honestly, I feel like I didn't give them enough business for all the help they gave me, so please give them your business, haha! Oh, and my daughter's computer started acting up during this process, and Martin looked at it and let me know that I'll likely just need to reinstall Windows, just like I did on mine, enabling me to do another repair at no cost. This is so important for me because I'm a single mom on a very tight budget. Thank you so much, Computer Idiot! read more
